Nokia 520 faulty lock key

Can anyone give me an easy fix or tell me where i can get the lock key repaired as it seems to be stuck in the handset? Ive tried the obvious trouble shooting suggestions and still not working. I don't want to fiddle with it causing further damage.

Hi, jamm118. Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions! We understand that you already have tried some basic troubleshooting steps to resolve this. But, we'd just like to verify if you have tried to properly remove & reinstall your battery cover:
At the top corner of your phone, put the nail of your index finger in the seam between the screen frame and the back cover. Press the middle of the back cover, and bend the cover to loosen the top hooks. Remove the cover. Do not use any sharp tools, as they may damage the screen.
If the issue remains, you can take it to a Nokia Care Point, as previously advised by @93tid

Nokia 520 power/lock button problem

Had my 520 for about 10 weeks and it has already been in Nokia Care due to screen problems and now I am having problems with the power/lock key button. Sometimes it will unlock first time or it will take several. This started happening a week ago and it getting worse and a reset did not help so I say it will have to get sent to Nokia Care again.
What I want to know has anyone here had this problem fixed and has it reoccured as I am getting very tired of the unreliability of this Nokia phone and although I liked windows 8 I need a phone that is going to work.

Is this for a Nokia Lumia 520 as well? Did something happen to your phone prior to this issue? How's your Lumia now? Did you already bring it back to the people who assisted you before? If yes, what was the result of their assessment? By the way, did you bring it to the store where you brought the phone, or to the nearby Nokia Care Point?
If you haven't gone back to the assistance, please tell us the phone's current status so we can further look for other possible solutions.

Nokia Lumia 620 Lock Key

Hi,
I got Lumia 620 in March and its lock key is not working now. There was no damage in phone and when i visited service center, they said that you may have pressed it hard and due to this, key has been damaged now.
They are asking me to replace the lock key. I am really not sure why should pay for it when there is no damage in phone. There might be a possibility that key was not in good condition when i bought this phone and it start creating problem when i start to use this phone.
Please provide me solution as i can not pay for a new key as the phone was not damaged by me.

The Nokia Care Point following an inspection makes a call on the cause of the damage. If they think it is due to a manufacturing defect then it is covered under warranty. Otherwise it is due to misuse and not covered.
If you are unhappy with the assessment of that particular Nokia Care Point, you can always get a second opinion from another Nokia Care Point.

hello.
Ever since the update i have found out that my enter key does not work on certain forums. Its a bit frustrating as the site im an admin on is one of those with this issue and im required to type out big long posts but cant but them into clear paragraphs without my enter key.
Any ideas? Not even sure what the upgrade did.

iwconfig wlan0 power off
and all is well again. Surely doesn't explain why it started after kernel update. But it works...

   this is really sad to bring up that i brought c7 when i was in dubai now i am in india i noticed my phones lock key isnt working well it just month i bought the phone when i went to nokia store i was shocked that it wont get warranty so plz help me out how i can claim my warranty right in india.. needs urgent assistance

6290 how lock keys in external Display

Hi All,
Could you please advice me on how to lock keys in external display?
What Nokia suggested in the manual does not work not either for internal keyboard.
current firmware is: V 03.03 /09-03-07.RM-176

Wow, you got really bunk advice from both Viewsonic and Apple. First off, Viewsonic are wrong. The driver has to come from them, not Apple. Furthermore, it has to be a plug-and-display driver, namely the driver that comes pre-loaded into ROM within the monitor. It sounds like Viewsonic don't have a correct one. This can be confirmed using SwitchRes X.
Second, Apple is way off base to say you can overheat your video card using SRX. What rubbish. The only potential damage to be done with a program like SRX would be to damage the scan circuit in a really old CRT computer monitor or television. There is zero risk with modern, digital displays.
If you install SRX, click on the "Export DDC" button and it will make a human readable text file out of the display driver (EDID) that is inside the Viewsonic. No doubt you will see that there is no mention of 1440 x 900 in the driver. Email it to Viewsonic's tech support and ask them why their EDID doesn't contain the native resolution for the monitor. Then get your money back. Either that or use SRX to configure the missing timing that should have been there in the first place.

What is this? Little yellow lock key on the video...I'm unable to open it or copy it everything was fine for 2 weeks...i had this video as a ringtone...(its 20sec long did it myself,so its not copyright protected)

HT4623 Lock key not working properly

Lock key not functioning properly.

This has happened because your phone was most likely imported and modified before it was sold you you. Updating the firmware has reset it back to it's default configuration
You need to contact a nokia care point for help getting it back working properly. If the care point isn't an option visit the retailer where you purchased it.

Lumia 720 lock key sensitivity

At a sudden yesterday night at around 9:30PM, my phone started behaving really weird. I dont when and how my lock key (middle one on the right side) became more sensitive. Whenever i was touching key it was getting auto lock and restart by itself. Please help me with this kind of weird situation. After this I am currently using lockdown app to lock the phone.

Blinking caps lock key

Anybody know why my caps lock key has started blinking. It isn't blinking fast and I thought I was seeing things at first but it is flashing now and then.

If you were talking about an Atari ST I would say 100% keyboard fault, the keyboard on the ST is 'intelligent' and this is the way it tells you it gone faulty - maybe similar thing going on with yours ?

Black screen caps lock key blinks

Laptop screen is blank and the caps lock key blinks 3 times over and over..Tried doing what was suggested, taking out and reinstalling the memory card..also blew out the dust and didn't fix the problem ..I think it's Windows 7 installed.

I am sorry to here that you are getting this particular error code and that your initial troubleshooting has not helped.
I assume that you were looking through this page, and followed it.
Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps
LEDs blink 3 times
Memory
Module error not functional
If you have followed the process within that page, related to a memory problem, and it is still doing the same thing, then you are looking at two possibilities. One or more of the memory modules in your notebook is defective, or the main board has a faulty connection.
You can try testing the memory individually or by swapping them (if there are two) into the different memory sockets. Doing this you can isolate if one memory chip or the other is defective, or if it is a socket problem.
Once you know which problem it is , you will likely need to get replacement memory, or a replacement board, or in a worst case both.

E7 lock key switch does not work

Lock key stopped working during some update today. I installed the phone from scratch and installed anna over previous os.
At sometime on the proces lock key stopped working. It does not work neither as led torch switch.
I have found no place to change this key behaviour.

In order to reslove your issue I would suggest performing a soft reset (*#7780# soft reset(security code needed; 12345 by default) and then re-install anna again, should this not work you should consider taking your device to your local Nokia Care Point

Problem that starts with *apparent* sticking caps lock key

I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro (two weeks outside of AppleCare, of course!). Last night, it appeared the caps lock key was sticking. It would type in all caps even when I hit the button and the green indicator light went off. Moments later, I noticed that the option that shows you all the windows on the same screen was suddenly going very, very slow. I tried to restart but it started in safe mode - twice. It finally started correctly on the third or fourth reboot. I hoped it was a fluke.
Unfortunately it's happening again and rebooting doesn't seem to fix it - I can't put in my password to login because it thinks I'm typing in all caps.
Any ideas, please? Thanks.

This may enter the Apple Hall of Fame for stupid posts. I spent a couple hours last night restarting the computer, trying restore etc....and really doing anything I could from clinton's link in order to identify the problem. I'd even called our local store to let them know I would be there first thing in the morning (I'm boarding a plane in a few minutes and really needed my laptop for this trip).
So after doing all of those things + removing the caps lock key to see if it was somehow manually stuck, I go the store this morning. Virtual panic. I needed a presentation off the laptop for a workshop tomorrow and I hadn't backed up since I created it...
I enter the store, I begin to explain the situation in detail, I open up the laptop....
And the guy at the store says "Did you notice your shift key is stuck down?". Why No, I hadn't noticed that! With a tiny wiggle and a tap, that key popped back into place and the computer worked fine. The Safe Mode was happening because the shift key was down.
