Nokia 520 - transferring pictures to a desktop

Hi - can you help me please (in very simple language!)
I've got a new Nokia Lumia 520. I've taken photos on it which I now want to transfer to my desktop.
I've installed Nokia Suite on the desktop - apparently successfully.
When I hook up my phone to the computer, the desktop goes into a long session of trying to load USB drivers but never seems to complete. If you look up 'additional help' it suggests going to Settings>Connectivity on the phone - but there's no such place under settings.
What am I supposed to do !

Tthe desktop has got XP service pack 3 installed, but I'm still struggling.
With the phone on and unlocked and connected to the computer I get a message on the computer saying 'incompatible USB connection' (or something like that).
If I persevere the photo wizard accesses the pictures, but only as icons for picture files rather than the more normal actual thumbprints, and I can't get any further.
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

hi my nokia 520 turned off last night when i turned it on again there were two white cog wheels on the screen and a green loading line then the vodafone start up picture then nokia on a black screen and nothing else i have turned if off i have taken the battery ut but it does nothing else and keeps jumping between the two start up screens help !

First try rebooting by pressing and holding the vol down + power button for around 10 seconds.

Transfering pictures from Droid Razor Memory Card to Macbook Pro Laptop!

I have a Droid Razor & I'm trying to transfer my pictures from my memory card to my Macbook Pro Laptop. It's not working. Can someone please help me nobody seems to know anything about how this is done through Apple or Verizon. I can transfer my pictures onto my Dell Desktop with no problem. I'm getting very frustrated. I knew I should have bought the IPHONE but Verizon talked me out of it! Please someone help me A.S.A.P.

Thanks Mike for getting back with me. I'm trying to uninstall VCast from my laptop now. Hope it works. I've had my Droid Razor just before Christmas, my husband bought it for me for a Christmas gift. Now when I slide the bar across to unlock the phone it goes real slow. I'm really not very happy with this phone at all, but I guess I'm stuck with it. What do you think as far as to which you think is the better phone the IPhone or Droid Razor. I'm having a hard time uninstalling VCast from my apple too. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much.    Ann

Thanks for following up Ann. When you plug in your RAZR, is VCast opening up on your laptop? If so, I suggest uninstalling it from the laptop so it does not interfere with what we're trying to do. When multiple programs are trying to read the same USB device, it causes conflicts. As far as the iPhone goes, if you're still within your 14-day exchange period, feel free to exchange the device for one that you want. Please keep me updated when you have the time. Why can't I upload a picture from my desktop to put with an ebay auction

I purchased an Intel Based Imac, 24" screen, in November and initially had problems uploading pictures from my desktop to put with my ebay auctions. After several attempts I was able to complete this task. However, 4 days ago, I'm now no longer able to upload any more pictures. I'm experiencing one of two problems, either I don't see the browse tab from the ebay site to search for the picture I want to upload, or I'm able to click the browse tab, choose the picture I want and start the uploading process, but soon after the picture starts to upload, the process stops. I'm able to do this task on my PC laptop. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

I've had that incomplete browse tab thing happen - where there's no button to click - and concluded it's either an eBay issue or an ISP issue. However, for me, I was able to come back to it half an hour later and no problem doing the photo upload.
Were you blocking pop-up windows at the time?
I've also had the photo fail to upload, but never (yet) failed on the second attempt. I determined that the failure was due to my starting the upload process too quickly - before my thumbnail was showing after selecting the photo to be used. I just had to wait a few seconds more in the process to resolve that.

Photos in the ?Camera Roll can be deleted by tapping on Select, then selecting the photos to be deleted and finally tapping on Trash.
Photos in albums that were copied to the device by syncing with your computer running iTunes are deleted by syncing again. But before clicking on Apply or Sync deselect the no long wanted albums in iTunes. Finally click on Apply.

Old pictures on the desktop and invisible dock when I change user

I have a late 2011 macbook pro with Mountain Lion installed. This problem came out with this OS. In practice, when I log in with my secondary account (without password) and change to the administrator account (with password), the Mac loads old pictures on the desktop, and the thing where the dock's icons usually stand is invisible.
This appears not to be shown when I log back into the secondary one and re-log in the Admin.
Why this happens? And how do I fix it? Help please, it's getting quite annoying...

Most likely one of the two computers has a corrupt data which is not allowing the Sync to complete.

Nokia 520 switch on button not working

Ive had a Nokia 520 for only 4 months and its broken as the switch on button does not light up the phone all other aspects of the phone are working.....3 are not interested and are still taking monthly payments for a phone I cant use unless someone contacts me and the screen lights up. I would like some good advice please as of how to fix this or have this fault repaired? Thankyou

If the button is broken, you need to get it repaired at a local Nokia Care Center. But as an alternative, you can use camera button to unlock your phone, just hold the camera button for a second.
If this feature is not enabled on your phone, you can enable it in Settings->applications->Photos+camera

Did you export the master or version? Master will be unedited...
File > Export > Version

First, you need to activate Bluetooth by swiping left from the Start screen then selecting Settings > Bluetooth.
Now open your music player and browse to the song you would like to share. Start playback of the song, then tap Menu (three small dots on the bottom right of the screen) then tap Share > Bluetooth > the name of the device you would like to share with.

Transfered pictures to pc unable to open

I transfered pictures from my IPhone 4 to my pc and now they can not be opened. They show up in my picturs folder as T757. I can not figure out how to change them so they can be opened to see them. Any suggestions please.

Problem transferring pictures from my camera memory card to my computer. When asked where to save them, it only gives me the option of saving to "Snapfish". There is no option to save the pictures to my computer???

I have a new HP Photosmart 7529e all in one. I put my memory card in the slot but the printer screen does not show my computer as a destination. I'm using Windows 7. Nothing at the computer end acknowlages that the card is in the printer slot. How do I transfer pictures from the card to the computer?

I've been reading everyone's postings on transferring pictures from phone to computer. My SD card card was already in my phone when I left the verizon dealer so I don't know is its formatted. I understand your frustrations and I would like to help get your pictures transferred from the phone to your computer. Do other USB devices work in the computer? Are you using a PC or a Mac? Unfortunately, the Octane is not compatible with Mac OS. Before hooking the USB into the computer you will need to active the USB Mass Storage mode.
Press Menu
Choose Settings and Tools
Choose USB Mass Storage
Select ON
Connect the phone to your PC using the USB cable
Drag the phone file to transfer and
drop it in a pre-selected PC directory.
If the device will still not connect you do have the option of inserting the memory card into a card reader. I would be happy to continue troubleshooting with you, if necessary. I look forward to hearing from you.

Trouble transferring pictures to computer

I took some pictures using only the internal memory of my BB Style 9670 and I cannot transfer them to my computer. This is what I did: I connected BB device to my PC; opened the BB Desktop Software v6.0.1.18; and clicked "Pictures" under Media Sync. This is the message that I got: "Media storage is not available. Please check that a media card is installed correctly in your BB device and that mass storage mode is turned on."

With mass storage mode enabled the BlackBerry acts like a usb thumb drive. So if you go to your start menu>computer - you should see BlackBerry1 and BlackBerry2 under "Devices with removeable storage" 1 is internal memory and 2 is your SD card.
There is a setting which might turn off your access to BlackBerry internal memory. So if you don't see BlackBerry1, Send your pics to your SD card. If you have one.
But you need to double click on the BlackBerry1 or 2 to open them up, Then double click the folder "BlackBerry" then you will see the folder "Pictures". From there you can copy the pictures to your desktop. Or copy pictures from your pc to your BlackBerry.
I never use BlackBerry Desktop software for anything. It honestly just seems to make things more difficult.

Your post is pretty lengthy and I have to admit I didn't read it all. Please try restarting in Safe Mode, if that doesn't work please do both a SMC and PRAM reset. These may take 2-3 attempts.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
