Hi,
I am unable to open the PDF and excel, word and RAR files in MY Nokia 5322 moblie.
and also phone back up also, it is showing ? mark. (all files like this).
Could you please help me here, which software i will download, from where i will get the software.

Nokia 5233 lining on screen

Good day Sir,
i am having a screen problem with my Nokia 5233, when my phn stay for about 5min , there some lining on the screen like a screen server and it is impossible for me to detect my incoming caller, i have experience this for about a month, i tort the screen is bad but the screen of my phn is ok , so i dnt know waht to do , pls help me

Most probably you need to do what Iris9290 has suggested..but you can try your luck by first Soft Resetting the phone by dialing *#7370# followed by 12345 (Default code unless changed by you..) when prompted. Back-up all your data thru' Nokia suite before the Reset as it will wipe all data from the phone Memory...
Other thing you may try is see if the phone Firmware is up todate..If not then Update it... else, re-install the existing one..
The reason for suggesting the above is, since you mention that after some efforts the Display becomes normal so if it is NOT related to Hardware but only software then the problem may get resolved without replacing the screen ....

You didn't post wrong, let's see if we can get the emails syncing. Please log in here, and check that the settings are ok. You can also delete the account from there and from the phone, and try to configure it to the phone again.
If it still does not work, and you have checked that the internet connection works, then please do the following actions and in between them check if it works.
Make a backup with Nokia Suite. Type in *#7780# followed by lock code (default is 12345). This is soft reset, no data will be lost.
You can also reinstall the phone software. The process is the same as when updating with Nokia Suite, but at the end select "Reinstall".
If the sync still does not work, type in *#7370#, also followed by lock code. This is hard reset. The phone memory will be wiped so make sure you have the backup. Restore back up.
Please let me know if it still does not work. Also please tell me what happens when you try to sync and are there error messages?

Hi, i recently upgraded my nokia 5233's software version from 21.1.102 to 40.1.003.
but dont notice any changes except the here and now app.
Can i get the change log for v40.1.003??

The Music Player has been updated to support Embedded Lyrics.
Synchronised/ Unsynchronised lyric support has been added.
Users can choose to "Hide" embedded lyrics too under Options...

Nokia 5233 Storage Question. You need to know this...

Hi, I'm not new to Discussions. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE READING THIS THREAD: I've digged EVERYwhere you can think of, so please have in mind that I come here because I really need to know this, I don't want to double-post anything or start a spam war or something. Thank you.
I was facing problems with my device, Nokia 5233. Sometimes the phone asks for too much time to do a simple task, and I have tried to defragment the memory card to see if it helps, but in the end it made no difference at all.
After that, I was recording a video and it went just fine. The problem happened later on, when I decided to view the video and it was lagging the image. I mean, the image was freezing sometimes but the audio was OK. I recorded another video after that and it had the same symptoms. NOTE: THE MEMORY CARD WAS WITH 1GB+ OF STORAGE REMAINING AVAILABLE TO BE USED.
This is about the stock memory card that comes with the cellphone, 2GB storage capacity, Micro SD card.
After I was told that this is a symptom of the memory card, I wonder if this is supposed to happen with the card that comes with the cellphone. I was **bleep** because I REALLY f***ing need those videos and this turned out to be a real nightmare because when I tried to back up my data using Nokia's software, I ended up with a corrupted file, it was supposed to be a BACKUP and the software just MOVED my SMS messages from the cellphone to my computer and I now can't move it back to the cellphone. But here, my deal is the memory, I changed it to another, higher capacity card, a Kingston Micro SDHC 4GB memory card. And still, I'm facing another issue:
I want to know what is the REAL extended memory capacity for Nokia 5233
I ask this because after googling about it for a few hours, I've found so many different opinions...First a guy said it's best not to upgrade the amount of memory at all, because of my device's limitation, second I read somewhere else I can upgrade the amount of memory up to 8GB and the phone "will still recognize it" and then just when I thought I was done with it, I have talked to Nokia Care on Twitter about it and they said I can be facing 'compatibility issue' with it.
According to his statement, "Unsupported memory cards may just work for small sizes of data, but might give issues wt bigger amounts, depending on the mmc".
That explains the issue with my cellphone's default video recorder/player. But then, again, Is that supposed to happen with a stock memory card?! I guess it's NOT, is it?
AND THEN, AGAIN, NOTE: THE MEMORY CARD WAS WITH 1GB+ OF STORAGE REMAINING AVAILABLE TO BE USED.
So, AFTER recording a 71MB video file, I was viewing it again, kinda hoping it was happening again because this time, it is a 4GB of memory.
I now decided to dig a little bit using Wikipedia, and then I found what I was afraid of:
"Devices that use SD cards identify the card by requesting a 128-bit identification string from the card. For standard-capacity SD cards, 12 of the bits are used to identify the number of memory clusters (ranging from 1 to 4,096) and 3 of the bits are used to identify the number of blocks per cluster (which decode to 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, or 512 blocks per cluster).
In older 1.x implementations the standard capacity block was exactly 512 bytes. This gives 4,096 × 512 × 512 = 1 gigabyte of storage memory. A later revision of the 1.x standard allowed a 4-bit field to indicate 1,024 or 2,048 bytes per block instead, theoretically yielding up to 4 gigabytes of memory storage. However the specification specifies 2 gigabytes as the maximum capacity.
Host devices designed before this change may incorrectly identify such cards, usually by misidentifying a card with less capacity than is the case by assuming 512 bytes per block rather than 1,024 or 2,048.
For the new SDHC (2.0) implementation, 32 bits of the identification string are used to indicate the memory size in increments of 512 bytes. The SDCA currently allows only 26 of the 32 bits to be used, giving a maximum size of 32 GB. All SD cards with a capacity larger than 4 GB must use the 2.0 implementation at minimum. Two bits that were formerly reserved and fixed at 0, now called the "CSD Structure", are being used for identifying the type of card, 0 is standard capacity; 1 is high (SDHC) and extended (SDXC) capacity; 2 and 3 are reserved. Older host devices are not aware of this new field thus cannot correctly identify SDHC or SDXC cards."

So in other words, it can be that my device does not recognize my Kingston SDHC 4GB Micro DS Card correctly. Oh I mean the STOCK, 2GB Micro SD card. And POSSIBLY my Kingston SDHC card.
Is that correct?

I don't mean the card class, I just meant the card type. Nokia is SUPPOSED to work out with majority of the cards out there, specially Symbian devices, so you can take the card off of your previous Symbian-based cellphone and then USE IT on another Symbian-based device, regardless if it is SD or SDHC.
Look, I just want to know these:
What is the storage limitation for Nokia 5233?
Is Nokia 5233 supposed to work with SDHC or not?

User-exec 3 error in Nokia 5233

I have installed games in Nokia 5233 & played on it. But I have used App Manager to remove unwanted softwares which i have installed & with that some problem has occurred & now when i start the game it shows "Application Closed: Main USER-EXEC 3 "error. Please If someone can help me in solving this problem.

Try re-installing the game... It seems some software attached to the game also got un-installed with some other application..

Corrupted Music Player for Nokia 5233

Please help me find the software to restore my Nokia 5233 Music Player. It was corrupted by a virus when i downloaded an MP3 song from my desktop computer. I've already removed the said virus from my PC and mobile phone. Since then, everytime i tap the "All Songs" from the menu music library, this message suddenly appears on the screen of my mobile: "File is corrupted. Operation cancelled." Nothing happened when i restored it to factory setting.

I tried formatting again my mem card for the 2nd time, inserted it again into my phone card slot, switched ON my unit and verified its content by selecting Office>File Manager>Eroot dir of my mem card)>Installed Files.
I was very much surprised when i saw the "Piano Touch" application in drive Emem card). I haven't seen this kind of application before
Suspecting that it was a virus, i immediately removed it from the "Installed Files" folder using File Mgr.
Thanks a lot for the support and for advising me to use File Manager. Now, my Music Player is working well.

Need Help in Nokia 5233 (It's Urgent)

Some week ago I update my Nokia 5233 Firmware n now all is working fine but the problem is my gprs setting will gone but now I got GPRS setting but the problem is, I install Opera Mini browser n all r know that that when 1st time launch Opera Mini browser then the software require internet connection, when I select the connection it's shown same installation screen n then I minimize Opera Mini n I see that my operator signal is gone n after that I restert my mobile n then try again but same problem. When I used default browser it's always shown connection n when I minimize the browser then my operator signal not gone n now I maximize the browser then hang the browser. What is that? Is it problem with new firmware or my Operator? If is it my mobile problem then plz give me the solution...

from information you've given i'm concluding that
You've tried reset (*#7370#)
Ensured that you've successfully upgraded, i mean you didn't suffer a failed upgrade(*#0000#)
Though NSU uses user data conservation technology, you might've lost settings, which i'm sure you've checked and its there and selected correctly.
As the problem started after firmware upgrade and glitch seems to be with connectivity(i remember browser improvement was one of changelog of last update), so your phone somehow didn't get upgraded properly. Only way out is to consult nokia care in your city.

There have been reported some issues with the 5800 similar to yours, and it seems that the devices affected were devices where the enduser had changed the screen to an non-official one, and after the update the screen was not working like it should.
If you have done a non-official warranty voiding screen change to your device (yourself that would mean), youre for your self.
If that isn't the case, I'm sure it isn't, you will have to seek help at a Nokia care point if you've already done what you've written. The hard reset should wipe your phone memory and set your phone back to "basics". - No need of doing the factory reset move after doing a hard reset as it does less than the hard reset and nothing that the hard reset hasn't done.
Now it seems like you've updated through ota first and then tried to reinstall the fw again. then done a hard reset? - You will need to take it to a Nokia care point as there nothing more we can do for you.
There could be a hardware issue which has just occured at the same time doing the update.

Nokia 5233 problem

I purchased a nokia 5233 mobile yesterday and am having the following problems from the beginning-
1. While typing a message, on touching the keypad button even lightly, the button keeps pressing as if it was on press and hold. for example, if i touch backspace, it keeps getting pushed down and the entire message gets erased. the same problem occurs at the menu interface too. it exists for a few moments and then returns back to normal. but it keeps occuring,.
2. there is a sudden static occasionally in the phone screen, like the one occuring in tv's.
please suggest some remedies for these. my software version is the latest.

Hi friends, I recently purchased Nokia 5233 model.
Problem is: Speakers are of poorest quality even low end mobiles of Nokia itself have better. Rather saying ‘poorest quality speakers’ it is better to say ‘poorest speaker adjustments’. Using a headset at some noisy place, it is difficult to hear dialogue of a movie/clip comfortably unless the actor is shouting. You can hear but I mean comfortably you can not hear. While using you will feel to increase the volume and it will frustrate you like anything. Ok songs you can hear because they have high music. The very purpose of the mobile is defeated, when you are out in a bus or metro train and you want to use it you can not. I do not want to get change the speakers but just amplify the volume. And if in doing so signal becomes noisy let it be. But at least give a choice to the user. Let him decide to hear noisy stuff or not to hear at all.
For those who believe in experiments, I have done an experiment to prove this. I recorded the same radio channel through my older low end mobile which is of Nokia itself and the Nokia-5233. I kept both of them at maximum volume. I analyzed the recorded sound in my computer and found that the volume of 5233 is at least half of that of my older mobile. Same way the FM signal is worst.
It can be a scrap for many of you but I want to draw attention of Nokia. I feel pity as well agitated after all they are not giving me free of cost. It’s a simple thing which they have to take care and they do not. The things are done so carelessly. Either the engineers are worst which they hire or the company do not have good procedural set up to check before launching a mobile. There must be some explicit scientific way to check the volume adjustment and things like that. Even if it is given to me I can do that, its just about amplifying the signal.

I have bought Nokia 5233.I have not got any PC suite with it. After reading the posts on the Discussion Board I downloaded Nokia OVI Suite. After that I tried to connect my USB cable which I got with the phone to the PC. To my dismay OVI suite is not detecting any Device.
My USB is working properly as when I attach it to my laptop then it asks me to select a mode so I selected PC suite mode.Afer that an autorun pop-up comes on my laptop for 5233.But the OVI suite is not detecting any device.
I have installed the OVI Suite version 3.0.0.I have Windows Vista Ultimate. Kindly help me out.

nokia 5233 has excellent updated version of 51.0.1 software but c6 has 41.0..... Still software of 5233 is looking better than c6 does nt it seem so funny of comparing prices of both phones.......huge variation is there any better update cmg for c6??????

Atleast for me.
Step 1) Go to Settings>Phone>Date and Time>Automatic Time update ... and set it to OFF. (Skip step, if already off)
Step 2) Go to Settings>Phone>Date and time>Time Zone, and select time zone as "Iceland"
Step 3) Switch Off, and then switch On again.
Step 4) go to Settings>Phone>Date and Time>Automatic Time update... and set it to ON.
The Phone will now search for Local Time. and will syncronise it with service provider, correctly. The Time Zone will be changed from "Iceland" to "Local"
Now don't ever touch the Time Zone section again. If you try to change it (for eg, change it to New Delhi +5:30 time zone), the same problem will appear again.
The problem is faluty Time Zone part of the software Hope it will be fixed in coming updates.
If your problem is still not solved, try to change to some other company's sim, and follow the above steps again. Your service provider, must allow Automatic Time Update, for above process to work.

If you're having issues with your phone's software and no update is available, please reinstall the current software. This option will be displayed under the green arrow icon at the bottom of your screen.
