  • Nokia 5310 ExpressMusic power down at random

Hi, got this 5310, bought in Thailand, got new danish software on it, and just updatet it, with the neweste software update, but the damn thing, just power down at random, even with a fully charged battery. Help me

Removing it from the case eliminates any possibility of something shorting out against the case as well as giving you a chance to examine the back side for discoloration or burn marks.
not sure exactly what to look for, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary on the back of the mobo.
I have a strange update... at first I could use the monitor with my old pc, but an hour ago when I tried to hook it up, it did the same thing it does on the new computer. Lights flash on and off, doesn't come on permanently. This is veeeery strange, because it technically rules out all the hardware in my new pc as the cause of this. To make things stranger, the monitor connects to onboard just fine. It only malfunctions when connected to the Geforce 2 or my new 7900GS. But I have gotten both pcs to boot, monitor included, before. It doesn't make any sense. Early yesterday I had the monitor connected to this old pc through the Geforce 2. Late last night, when I tried to connect them again, it adopted the symptoms of the new computer. So it seems like this problem has to do with the monitor, but I find it strange that it decides to become defective the very same time I'm building a new pc. Plus, it DOES work with onboard.
    ugh...

  • @ symbol on Nokia 5310 expressmusic

What's this mean? it's not the G or the voicemail it looks like @ and I don't have web on my plan so it can't be email..what does this mean?

Packet dataGeneral packet radio service (GPRS) is a network service that allows mobile phones to
send and receive data over an internet protocol (IP)-based network. To define how to use the service, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packetdata > Packet data conn. and from the following options:● When needed — to set the packet data connection to established when anapplication needs it. The connection will be closed when the application is
    terminated.
try this you could be on some subscription service or email client call your operator
if nothing changes try a factory reset the code is 12345

  • Nokia 5310 Express music need an 8GB Micro SDHC ca...

    hello guys,
could you help me out here, i saw few videos that i can use a 8GB Micro SDHC card for my Nokia 5310 but which one?? what brand??
    can anyone help me out???
    thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As long as you buy a reputable brand from an equally reputable store (online or physical), you should be fine. Many of the unbranded cards available on eBay, for example, are often fakes or knock-offs that barely work and are therefore to be avoided.
I tend to recommend SanDisk as that's the brand I use and with which I've had absolutely zero problems.
Make sure the card is a class 4 card at least. Some class 2 cards have created problems with phones. There is no advantage to buying a class 6 card for a 5310XM so you might as well go with the cheaper of the two (class 4 or class 6).

  • Nokia 5310 (10.10) with 8GB microSDHC crashes when...

    Hi.
I'm using a 8GB SanDisk microSDHC card with my Nokia 5310 (newest firmware). Transferring files with Windows Explorer is no problem; when using the Ovi Player the phone frequently crashes after a while, mostly when there is more than 4 GB of data on the microSDHC card. Any attempt to put more files on the phone after that will lead to an almost instant crash.

    8gig is not totaly compatible
yeah i agree 8gig its working but thenokia 5310xp was build for 4 gig and lower compatible only im using firmware 10.10 and my memory is micro 4gig sdhc card

  • Nokia 5310 Black Glitch screen?

Hello I got a 5310 in July and im on my 3rd one now At the moment,
Dont know why but last two time my handset glitched and screen died this has happen 2 time now and almost a 3rd but lucky i seen it this time and like a jack rabbit pop'ed out the battery+micro SD and save myself from another week of waiting for a new phone, last two time's it died happend while i was listening to my .mp3's so i think that sum of my mp3's are encoded with a codec of mp3 that my phone dont like . anyone have this
happen to them>? "Screen Fade's and dies but when i try to repower on it try's to but dies" looks like a 50's tv turning off and sum of the screen linger's?
Owner of a Nokia 5310 Music Xpress
Thays should put a Warning on this phone Will break in a month .

Does the phone have the latest firmware on it?
If yes. I think the phone's firmware had crashed and it will be needing some sort of software re-programming - meaning it will be needing to go again to the Nokia Care Centre.
Or is it just lots of 5310 batches seems to be faulty?
FOLLOW UP: After seeing the video you provided, as I can see that your phone has a custom firmware on it - means it's network branded - occasionally they are left behind on Nokia's official firmwares.
    Good luck

  • Nokia 5310 Is it possible to send a sms message fr...

    Hi Guys
I am using a Nokia 5310 and was wondering if it was possible to send a sms message from my phone to my computer via Bluetooth? I can't seem to find an option to do this and don't know whether I am missing it or if it's just not possible.
Any help or advice would be great.
    Thanks Claire xxx

You can't send an SMS. However, if the phone (I don't know the 5310) has a note-taking application where you can create text notes/memos, the application might have an option to send the note/memo over Bluetooth. You might also be able to find some Java application to send text messages (still not SMS, technically) over Bluetooth, if the phone doesn't have such a feature built-in.

Moderator's note: IMEI removed from post. Please don't post your IMEI number on the Discussion Board.

    Dear globalguideline,
    Welcome to the Discussion Boards!
The "master codes" are a myth, and don't work!
If you forgot your phone's security code, only a Nokia Care Point can reset the security code.

    Hi,
I got a new Nokia 5310 last week and its doing great and i like it a lot, except for the following problem..
    Problem description:
I find the phone display freezed and become grey and stopped responding to any keys..

at this state, when a call is made to phone, caller can hear the phone is ringing, but the phone is still dead..,
the only way to correct this is, remove the battery and reboot the phone.,
    Query:
before going to nokia care centre, will this be a firmware bug (based on reported problems) or hardware bug(specific to my handset)??

  • How to unlock memory card nokia 5310

    can anyone help with this?
    does anyone know the code?

I think the locking code returns to "factory default" after a firmware update is made.
The phone's lock code does return to the default 12345 after a firmware update with phones that do not support UDP (User Data Preservation).
The MMC password does not get reset to the factory default simply because there is no factory default for that.
The file in the phone's memory containing the MMC password is erased when the software is updated, which means that the phone no longer remembers the password. The phone then prompts the user for it, which is when they wish they'd made a note of it somewhere!

  • Nokia 5310 No network signal

My nokia 5310 suddenly lost its signal and I am unable to make or receive any calls or texts.......I have switched off, removed battery and SIM card, tried SIM card in another phone (that worked OK), carried out factory reset, reinstalled SIM and battery, but still does not have any network signal........Any ideas please.....HELP.

Check your phone with another compatible sim. If that doesn't work then your only other option is to send it to your nearest Nokia Care Point.
You can find your nearest Nokia Care Point at:

  • How can I remove these files? - Nokia 5310

So, I bought a Nokia 5310, configured it, yada yada, everything's working fine.
My memory card, oddly enough, came with an extra folder ironically titled "Extra"
This folder has 5 songs in it, all of which I am not interested in and want OFF my phone.
Anyways, long story short, it won't let me. Not on the phone, not through the PC software, not through explorer, these files are "write-protected", and I can't even move them around! Frustratingly enough, they take up space, and end up in my players library.
ALSO, I want to get rid of,the default tones and whatnot the phone came with. There's like, 40 of them! And it makes for unnecessary menu drilling.
    Thanks!!

(What do you mean "stuck" with Windows? lol)
There are alternative operating systems that run on a PC and that are far more stable, flexible and powerful than Windows. Of the dozens of such operating systems, I mostly use FreeBSD, Solaris and various variants of Linux on my machines, thus I am not "stuck" with that bloatware called Windows.
I'll say no more on that matter though - I don't want this topic to turn into an OS war

  • Contact transfer from Sony K750i to Nokia 5310

    Dear All,
Can anyone guide me to transfer my phone Contacts from Sony K750i to Nokia 5310.
i've tried but swetted out in transfering one by one thru bluetooth.
    -Parth

    Dear friend!
Its very easy to transfer contact from k750i to nokia mobile as i recently have transfered my contacts from k750i to nokia 5800XM.
    1. First of all, get backup of your k750i contacts in Microsoft Outlook using SonyEricson PC suite  (if you are using MS Outlook then use some other application that can store contacts on you PC).
    2. After completing the above step, use Nokia Ovi Suite to synchronise stored contacts (on PC) with your nokia device.
    Thants All and Enjoy.
