hi i am using 5530 berenice edition. i tried to update my firmware to v30 but updater shows no new version available..i am currently using v 9.0.054.... need help..plz tell a solution!!!

the updater is correct their is as of yet NO released software for your phones product code ,
Keep checking but it may be some months .

Apparently theres a V20 update for the nokia 5530 Xpress Music phone, but when i look for updates for it. it says latest firmware is V11. So how do i get this new firmware version, because ive been getting alot of problems with version 11?

A problem with Nokia 5530 wirmware updating! Help!

Hi all,
I have meat the problem with Nokia 5530 firmware updating: updating allways finish with the message "Downloading of the variant package failed.Most probably there is non-commercial software in your device."
Is there any solution for that problem?

Nokia 5530 TV-out mode?

Does the Nokia 5530 support TV-out mode, where one can connect the phone to a TV with a compatible cable?

It says Nokia 5530 and anyways they only have put 5330 once-it was probably a mistype.
However they do show the nokia 5330 tv edition while stating its a 5530 so I don't know

Help with Nokia 5530 Xpress Music

Hi, i have purchased the nokia 5530 xpressmusic game edition, unfortunately i lost the memory card, it came with 20 games, anyone knows how i can find a backup of this games so it can be restored to factory settings into my new memory? Thanks in advance...

Nokia 5530 update help

First I want to apologizefor my english, i use google translater :/
I have a Nokia 5530 half-year and the software is my 20th edition and now has 32. But I can not frequently updated phone in any way. I tried from the phone in all ways - there can not bind to the server of Nokia. I downloaded your Ovi - there writes me that there is not a new version for my phone (as long as I can see in the website of Nokia that there is new). Restart the setings to the factory one but again the same.
Today I do not know how it managed to download the new version, but starts to install it, restart the phone and then says that this software is not compatible with this phone.
Do some one know why this phone just don't want to be updated any way?

Updates depend on region / Product Code.. Also.. if your phone is Network Locked then the update is possible only after an approval from the Operator..

HELP! i cant make calls on my NOKIA 5530.

i bought my 5530 xpressmusic a couple of weeks ago. and it works just fine with me. until last week, the network operator logo at the top of homescreen disappeared as well as the date and my current profile setting. the only thing left at the top is the signal bar, time, and the battery bar.
my friends call me often and i seem to have no problem with taking incoming calls, so i just left my homescreen that way. last night, when i tried to call my mom's phone an error showed up and it says "Emergency Calls Only".
i must've accidently clicked something to make it that way, but i dont know what.
please please help me. i love love love my nokia 5530.
what should i do?

try removing battery for ten mins then try a soft reset the code is *#7370# security code 12345 back up any data you wish to keep such as contacts etc
before that may i ask have you removed the sim card or did the phone get a knock have you contacted your operator?

Nokia 5530 Turns off when making a call

I have a real problem, my Nokia 5530 turns off if I try to make a call or receive one, the only way it will work is if the headset is pluggeed in, I have tried everything, Restoring Factory settings, Hard reset etc...
Anyone else have this problem? Help...

I have exactly the same problem. I Went to a Nokia Care Point in Lisbon and they upgraded the firmware to the New one ( 11.0.054 ), but with no success.
I tried old SIM Cards, Newest SIM Cards, With / Without Memory Card, Factory Settings, nothing Worked. I Guess it´s probably hardware, maybe a faulty battery.
I ´ll have to send it to repairment..it´s really upsetting.

Nokia 5530 XM, phone software issues/headaches

Hello,
I got my 5530 XM around 2 months ago. It was my first Nokia (been a Sony Eric fan for over 5 years). Anyway i liked its touch interface and all.
But then i noticed the phone would restart (reddish/grayish horizontal lines leading to a white screen and then reboot) on average once/twice a day randomly.
I used the nokia update software to get the latest firmware, with that applied, the restarts frequency was decreased. But around 3 weeks ago, i noticed th phone would become unresponsive at times. Like i'd click on a menu item and i'd hear the small vibration of the force feedback, but nothing would launch, in such situations the phone won't respond to any touches, other than lock/unlock slide key and the turn on/off switch.
The only way to get out of that is to restart the phone. But this unresponsiveness is really annoying. I also did a re-install of the firmware from the nokia-software-updater 2 days ago, but the phone still gets stuck in unresponsive state. Sometimes you get unresponsiveness while you're receving a call. You can click all you want to accept the call but nothing would happen. sometimes i have to remove the phone cover and take out the battery and then put it back in and start the phone again to make things go back to normal.
Other than that, at times i'm unable to launch the camera. Its such an embarassment to be a nokia users, 2,3 times at party with friends i had to take some pictures with my NEW NOKIA 5530 and i noticed the camera wouldn't launch (From applications > Camera), there is the small circle on top of the camera icon (that appears for minimized applications), but clicking the icon does nothing.
Even restarting the phone doesnt help.
My phone is still within its 10/12 month warranty period. but i'm truly disappointed in nokia's software. Can someone please help me fix this problem? i've never faced any software issues with my other brand fones and i really love the touch feature of this phone and the interface but the UnTested Operaing System from Nokia is really becoming a headache for me.
Being a software engineer myself, it makes me wonder if there is any quality assurance going on in software departments at nokia. I remember watching a Nokia video on youtube showing how nice and long their hardware quality assurance tests were > which lead me to buying nokia 5530 as my next phone, but this software, it makes me dislike the phone more every passing day

How can I remove icons from my Nokia 5530 Xpress m...

I have just got the screen of my Nokia 5530 replaced and the firmware has been updated. As a result, I am now seeing icons that were not there previously.
In particular, as I am not interested in Facebook, can I remove the "icon" for this application from the main screen of my phone ?

Hi all!
I bought my (first) Nokia smartphone in January this year: Nokia 5530.
Since then, no updates was released for my device.
Nokia forget 5530 as like 5800. Now only C / E series, N8, N9, and low-price like 52xx.
Recently new update was released for C6, 5230 and 5233 devices with Ovi Maps 3.06, Browser 7.3 Anna-like, Emoticons input, general improves and more.
Now, my Nokia 5530 is very poor and forgeted:
Don't have widgets, don't support IM for Nokia (i tested it and loved), Nokia Browser is terrible, and others resource is very obsolete.
I saw the C6, the images/videos viewer is very much better, you can categorize with folders, favorite photos, and music player now support lyrics.
Days ago I installed a C6 port to 5530 (I transformed my 5530 in C6), and now my device has widgets, IM for Nokia and all i mentioned in here, but in very lag, the "Memory is full, close some apps and try again" message appears all time, much bored. Then I back yesterday to original firmware 32.0.0.7. I also have put in ALL MUSICS (300+) image covers and lyrics to use in cfw, but now in original don't have this, and I much sad.
What I want?
Want that Nokia don't forget users, because my first smartphone made my a Nokia lover, and I liking this. But i don't have money to buy a new smartphone (i want N8) because here in Brazil (where I live) is much expensive price.
Well, please Nokia, release a nice update for us Nokia 5530 users, even if not with widgets support, but with IM for Nokia, new browser/Ovi maps, lyrics support in Music Player, More organized images/videos viewer and more stabilities and improvements in cinetic scroll, etc.
I love Nokia and want to continue loving.

The 5530 is an older device than the C6. The 5800 wasnt exactly forgotten, but its normal for nokia phones to lose updates once the unit is about a year and a half to two years old. The 5530 is almost two years old already (it will turn two this august), so its not unusual that it wont receive updates anymore.
Its not exactly Nokia's fault that you bought an outdated phone.

HELP ON NOKIA 5530 xpress music

hi, i am new user, and just buyed 2-3 days back a new nokia 5530 xpress music, and i am not happy with it, the main problems are
1) earphone problems - the earphones are not good i mean i got the white color earphone still the sound in it is so bad that no bass in it, simple voice with low sound, also buyed a new earphone but same problem. i hate that
2) music player- well the music is very low as compared to samsung corby pro. this is xpress music but has not much sound where else samsung corby pro has more and better sound than us wat the hell.
3) battery problem- well the battery life as told music can be played upto 27 hrs, and talktime 4 hrs, and standby time, huh ( ALL FAKE). i yesterday rechraged my xpress music fully at around 4 pm, and i dint listen to any music, was just msging my friends and talk to someone for around 30 mins and then was just msging and msging and i stoped at around 12 am night, i saw my battery and its almost down i was shocked and suprise that battery only worked for around 8-9 hrs wat the hell grrrrrrrrrr. at 1 am the battery was at 1 point i mean i am so disappointed i felt like kicking the phone out my balcony. and ya when i recharge my battery it recharges in almost 20-25 mins that too full charge i mean i dont understand y is it happening like that

1. I use in ear earphones and the music is great
2. Music quality on the 5800 is better than the corby pro whose distortion levels are quite high. If we are talking of volume, that is another matter. volume is not equivalent to quality. I am not sure if you are just not using good enough earphones or what, but the presets on mine has a difference on the songs. I can hear the difference. I also listen to songs at volume level 3. So I really think its your earphone which has a problem.
3. These battery life quotations are maximum. Same goes for almost any brand. Music lifetime quotations are impossible to reach in real life. I could tell you how to get 27hours music on your phone but I can assure you, you wont do it.

Nokia 5530 XM Touchscreen (red button) not working...

I bought my nokia 5530 for about 4 months and i had dropped it a couple of times..
But before that it did not experience any serious damage.
It was until recent i accidently dropped it AGAIN and i found out that the red button is not working anymore.
Is there any solution to fixed it??
