Nokia 5610-white envelope; sent msgs deleted

1) last night i turned my phone off and back on and when i woke up this morning i had a white envelope on the screen that has never appeared before. i still get the yellow envelope when i rec' a text, so i don't know what this white one is. how do i get rid of it??
2) saturday night my sent messages weren't being saved to my sent box. when i looked, it said i had about 1,000 messages in my sent box, and when i opened the folder all of the message lines were blnk and i couldn't open any. i turned my phone off then back on and over 800 messages that i have been saving for 2 years (yes, i'm a sentimental fool) had been deleted. is there any way to get those back? in january i backed up my files, but i cant open it on my computer because i don't have "nokia pc suite" and i can't download it because i don't have internet at home.
can anyone help me?

goto:
Sim Manager
select: Sim 1
select each box to make it prefered sim
once Mobile data is ticked wait half an hour then the mms came through saying it failed. go into your inbox and delete failed message.
envelope should be gone now

Nokia 5610 hanging problem!

my phone 5610 has a problem
when i want to delete contacts(the group that i created) that i put in the favourite recipient(message settings) when i press the favourite recipients it now hangs!!!
i need to press the cancel button(the red one)
so i did a 2nd plan delete it by going to create message---->messga----> "to"(pressing add)---> then options then view then mark delete mark delete cause marking it all or deleteing the favourites directly causes my phone to white out then go back to the main menu. .
but when i press view it hangs again. .then i'll again press cancel
so again i did a plan (3rd) by deleting the groups that i had created then i'll just re-make again but still no success. .the favourites is still there with contacts. .

Nokia 5610 with dead(?) screen

Hey guys I seem to have a problem!
I was uploading some mp3 to my newly bought Nokia 5610,
I got it 3 weeks ago. I installed the latest software etc etc. Now here we go: I was uploading the mp3's and at some point I had to go to college, and I thought it be alright if I just left my phone on the desk so it could upload the songs while I was gone, and it'd be done by the time I would get back.
Then I thought that maby the battery would be empty soon if it was uploading all the time, so I got my charger, and I plugged it in the mobile... and then suddenly the screen went black. I was like... euh? O.o what was that.
So I start looking at what could be wrong (no i didnt open the device exept of taking out the SIM card and battery and back in again so my warrenty is still intact) Its pretty weird, the screen is black, but when I put it 'on' it vibrates 1 time as normal, I see black letters "Nokia" apear on a dark grey screen. And then nothing happends. The only thing noticable is that the screen goes from total black to dark grey for 2 seconds, it does this 3 times and then it stays black. And then I can push 'on' again and the exact same happends again.
So I thought, maby the battery went dead? I put in the charger again, and this time it kept on going from black to grey untill I unplug the charger. Also when I connect the USB to my computer, the pc finds the 'new device' and then immediatly it disconnects again. This happends everytime the 'cycle' starts again (going black to grey 3 times and then black). So it seems like it is going On, and then after the screen goes black for the last time it is turned Off again.
Its the only thing I see, nothing apears on the screen exept "nokia' (in a weird place aswell, at the middle-bottom instead of the middle where it normally apears).
I'm bashed... I bought this mobile 3 weeks ago, never dropped it or anything. Nothing seems to be damaged either, from the outside at least.
It was all fine untill this morning. Now im not sure wether it was because of uploading the mp3's, or because I plugged in the charger, or combination of either.
Again its about the Nokia 5610 Xpress Music, Has anyone encountered this problem or has suggestions? Else I'm afraid I will just have to get it back to a repair center in Amsterdam (after I told al my friends my new number and said that they could delete my old 1 :/)

Well mate, the only experience i have with this phone (I have the same as yours) is that you should bring it back to a nokia care centre (for locations see posts above) and tell them what the problem is, then they should update/flash the software. In the worst case they will send it to external repairs, which will cost a few weeks (2-4). That is what is happening to my mobile as I'm typing...
Just ask them if they cant do it right in the store, they should be able to. Try to avoid that it is send to external repair as that will cost alot of time. It will help you to understand if you read the a/discussions/board/message?board.id=phones&message.id=34235

How to store Sent msgs on my Mac

I've created Sent folders under "on my Mac" in Mail, but when I click on Use this Mailbox for, all the options are grayed out. My sent msgs are currently being stored on the server, but I will run out of room there over the long haul and want to keep msgs. on my Mac. I've unchecked the box for Store Sent Messages on Server.

Open Mail preferences, click on Accounts icon in the toolbar. Select your account and click on the Mailbox Behavior tab in the right display panel. Locate the pull-down menu for the Sent mail. Uncheck the option to store on the server.
Your existing Sent mailbox will now be located on your computer. You should now find there are two Sent mailboxes - one on the server and one local. Select all the sent mail from the server side and drag into the local side. When the transfer is completed all your sent mail will be local. You can then delete the Sent mailbox on the server if you want.

Nokia 5610 Secondary Camera

I have a Nokia 5610.
Just wondering whether will i be able to take still pictures with the secondary camera in Nokia 5610?

Your question is not clear, but if you want to use the front camera.. Goto Camera.. options.. and you may find something like 'Use Secondary Camera'.. select it.

Nokia 5610 Xpressmusic Problem

Hey everyone. I have this anoying problem with my Nokia 5610 Xpressmusic. I really need help, I have checked around everywhere on the internet almost and haven't find any answer for my issue. My issue is:
When someone calls me and im pressing "Answer", they can hear me but I can't hear them. I can only hear them if I have the headset inplugged but I can't hear them with that little ear speaker or what should I called it. So please, I beg you before I crash my Nokia, PLEASE HELP ME

Hi, i can not browse web with my nokia 5610 but i can browse with nokia browser. Also i can not use any software which need network connection. it says that i have to activate my network for java.
can anybody help me plz. my firmware version is 4.20.

I have a problem with my nokia 5610 music xpress.
When i am listening to music, when a song finishes instead of bringing up the name and title of the new song it stays the same as the first song that was played
It is weird and annoying and i have tried re-updating the software version (6.60) and that has done absolutely nothing.
Does anyone have ANY ideas on how to fix this?

Nokia 5610 screen - total malfunction !

I just dont know how this came about. It did fall from my computer table a couple of times but that has happened to all the other phones i've owned so far. Now my nokia 5610's screen switches between rainbow-colored , negative colored , and the normal color randomly! I've restarted the phone a zillion times and its pure luck if the normal colors pop out - even if that happens, it may go back to negative or rainbow-colored any second! I've never experienced such problems with any other gadget. And the thing that surprises me is the fact that i bought the nokia 5610 hardly a month ago from a verified dealer first hand!
Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated !

I think it is a common problem with the N5610 - as it exactly the same that happened with mine. The screen flickered when top slided.
I sent it to the Nokia Care Centre and they had to replace the LCD - since they said that the LCD connectors worn out. So for the new one they had to extend the LCD connector so it would not likely happen again in the future.

i am using nokia 5610 XM,it's realy great music phone but when i listening music with headphone sopmetimes i can hear the crackle noise
but when i play the same song by mp3player with the same headphone i can find the crackle sound

ders a few reasons y that may occur, there could be something wrong with the 3.5mm av in port, it could be dirty or damaged, or it could be a software thing where the music isn't being sent through as complete data through the connection. der r other reasons, either way, i would advise you to see a nokia care centre, especially if your warranty hasn't yet reached its void.

NOKIA 5610 antenna

Hello to all!
I found a NOKIA 5610 Xpressmusic which has got no signal. I updated it and afterwards I dissassembled it and I found that the antenna is a little damaged. The "sticky" board is a little unsealed so I suspect that the antenna circuit is the problem. The three points that the circuit is connected to the mainboard seem ok and the mobile works well.
So, I would like someone to tell me any other ideas about this problem and if it is worth to buy a new antenna from e-bay at 10$. I know that this is a very small amount of money, but I would like to see some other ideas.

I have a serious issue with my nokia 5610 d-1.
let me explain.
my phone was flashed from version 5 to version 10 by nokia care center as its os / system software was corroupted.
now again the software has got corrupt. now when i again sent it back to care center they say that it cannot be flashed as its os version is allready to latest version.
they informed that the phone can only be flashed to next available version. for eg. if the current version is 5 so it can be flashed to next available version to 5.6 or 6 or 10.00 .
but the last flashed version is 10.00 .
furthermore they say that now it is of no use you will have to throw your phone.
now what should i do as i purchased with my own money fow which i has to work for six months.
please help.

Nokia 5610 reprogram or lcd replacement

I have a nokia 5610.when i was transferring songs from computer using usb cable it suddenly turned off. I tried to turn it on but the only thing that appear is the "holding hands" and the welcome note, then it starts to turn on and off with white display. I tried to take off the battery for a while, take the memmory card and the sim card out.but nothing has changed. The nokia care center told me that it has to be reprogrammed. but when i was about to claim the phone, they said that the LCD must be replaced. I also want to know the factors that might need the change of LCD.

Well, I think you won't get a second opinion from this forum for that's a hardware problem & only an authorized Service Centre can give. It(defective LCD circuits) might be the cause of hanging! Usualy, problem like that can be rectified by reflashing the firmware, but maybe your's was an isolated case.
