  • Nokia 5610 Xpress Music - Problem with Application...

    Hi all..
I have a problem in my Nokia 5610 Xpress Music.
I can't access Applications! When I enter an application, a message says:"supportive file. nothing to display". However, I can enter some of the 'Applications' from the 'Go to' button in the stand by screen. My 'Calculator' has disappeared from my Organizer.
If anyone helps to solve this problem, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    musicsick2000.

Most of us here are just nokia users like you or anybody else who asks a problem here and seeks a solution. We are not professionals, and only try to help others.
Now, in this present case: For an instance,The calculator has disappeared. It is a part of firmware which cannot be edited. If it was a symbian phone then there was a possibility of developing a patch. But, with s40's the only option you have is to go for an firmware upgrade,if you can do it by yourself then well enough.Otherwise you need to visit the care center where you can get your firmware updated or get a stable firmware which has a calculator.

  • My failure of a Nokia 5610 Xpress Music

Long story short, i've had the phone about 2 months, and have had problems from day one. I'm currently trying to resolve the issue with nokia but what i'd like to know is would there be anyway to fix these problems myself. I love the phone but i've not gone one day yet where it hasn't had one of these problem. I updated the firmware to the latest but i've still got problems and it even caused a few more.
Here are the problems i've flagged to nokia.
    1. Java applications cannot access the GPRS connection but the in-phone browser can. The nokia wapsite refused to admit my phone exists and has no settings.
    2. The phone used to crash every 4-5minutes of listening to songs, and upon resetting would need to rescan for music files. Upon updating the phones firmware to the latest version the phone now does it about once or twice an hour. While this is better it's still not really acceptable.
    3. The phone logs ALL messages as being recieved an hour before the actual time, this problem only occured AFTER updating to the latest firmware.
    4. The music/radio/phone selector button broke off in my pocket but had always been shakey before this. A quick internet search reveals this as not unheard of. My assumption is that the exposed nature of the phone now means any water resistant nature it had is compromised. I still have the button.
    5. The phone will loose signal at random points where i know signal is perfect or after the phone crashes and resets and reports perfect/no 3G reception which i don't get anyway.
    6. On occasion the phone itself will play recieved calls through the loudspeaker and will not switch it off. Upon resetting the phone there is no signal until the phone is reset a further time, this problem only ALSO occured AFTER updating to the latest firmware
    For Referance:
    Nokia 5610
    Firmware V 06.60
1GB Nokia MicroSD card (supplied with the phone)
Used within the UK on the O2 network.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide, i'm about ready to break this phone in frustration.

    I think you're mis-handling your phone
I've been using my 5610 for 4 months and my friend for 8 months and our slider keys are still working fine
And from 6.60 you can immediately update to 8.30
For the GPRS connection, scroll to your java app, click Options > Application access > Communication > Network Access > Always Allowed
And please don't push for a refund, there are many other people with the same issues
    I hope this helps =P

  • Nokia 5610 Xpress Music Dead on upgrade

    Hi everybody,
i bought a brand new 5610 last week. When i tried to use the upgrade phone software provided in the Nokia PC suite the upgrader showed me an update(current version S40 4.2) 4.82 . Then when i clicked next it downloaded some 44 Mb of data and proceeded to install. When it estimated 3 minutes left for installation, the phone went blank. After some time the PC Suite got disconnected and the Nokia software updater displayed that there was no connection.
I kept that as such for 15mins hoping for some miracle to happen and nothing happened.
After i removed the USB cable i tried to restart again and the phone would not budge.. I even tried recharging it for about 30 mins, even then it remains dead.
If anyone out there faced this problem and fixed it. I would be glad to hear from you. Please help me. I really liked the phone..
Besides will this be covered under warranty if cant fix it myself?

    Hi ganesh17jan
Unfortunately it now looks as if a trip to a Nokia Care Point is required to re-install the firmware, which should be covered by the warranty as this is a service provided by Nokia that has malfunctioned.
If your phone had been an S60 rather than S40, I might have been a bit more hopeful of the outcome. Although it probably won't make any difference, it might be worth removing the battery and replacing after 5 minutes.

  • 5610 Xpress music: restarting often while speaking

Could you please let me know, how to overcome this problem: I am having Nokia 5610 Xpress music - it is getting restart often while speaking(two times per day). I brought this mobile 5 months back. I faced the same problem right from the first day. After one months software has been reinstalled even though that problem continues.
Any body help me to resolve this problem! I have checked it out with my friends who are having the same model(5610 Xpress music). They are facing the same problem, among five person four having the same problem.

    Causes:
    - Navi-key and camera button gets unnoticeably stuck causing it to be flooded with commands pointing to the music player and camera leading to a force system restart.
-One of your music files got corrupted
    -Possible phone software corruption
-Mixing different music formats is not recommended as of the moment(on xpressmusic players only) - meaning putting files with MP3, eAAC, WMA files on one memory card could cause mixup and will lead to software malfunction
    -Memory card fault
    Possible solutions:
-Try checking the navi-key and camera button, make sure that they aren’t stuck.
-Replace your music files if you notice some file corruption
-Update your mobile phone’s software also known as firmware
-As much as possible don’t mix up files with different file types - this would also help the phone to save a much CPU power. Just stick to one - the eAACplus.
-Check if your memory card is faulty

  • 5610 Xpress Music - better headset?

    Hi,
I have Nokia 5610 Xpress Music and I would like to buy better headset. I want it to have more controls for music player, e.g. play, stop, previous, next etc. Can you recommend me any headsets compatible with 5610? Thank you.

Your 5610 is an S40 device, so, there's no Hard Reset procedure available, unlike S60 devices. Therefore, your unit needs attention from a Nokia Care Point technician.
Before you take it in, you can try turning it on without the memory card. Sometimes faulty memory cards can interfere with the normal functioning of a mobile phone.
The fault can be with the hardware, and you have no means to check if it really is that way. Therefore the best way out is to take it to the nearest Nokia Care Point.

  • Not Enough Memory [Nokia 5800 Xpress Music]

    Hello,
i have a nokia 5800 xpress music mobile phone.
recently, i've been facing an error while trying to change my ringtone from the profiles
when i tap on the screen on the ringing tone tab in general profile (or any other profile), an pop-up tells me the following "not enough memory to display all ringing tones, only read-only memory tones will be displayed"
then, when i tap again , the ringing tones menu open but for sure not listing all of my music files !!
i thought it's a firmware problem, i updated my 5800 to the latest v30 firmware, but the problem still persists.
    please, feed me back
your help will be highly appreciated, thanks in advance
    Best regards,
    Solved!

take out your memory card and consider the first two options. make sure you have a back up and read carefully
     1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345
    2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)
    3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

  • Nokia X3 or 5610 Xpress Music

Im having trouble choosing between Nokia X3 and 5610 Xpress Music. Which has better music expirience which has the loudest speakers? and other features and advantages?

didnt think this was available anymore the 5610 that is where you located
the 5610 is outdated now and the x3would be a good succesor for it
the it depends on what you want in a device there is many apps you can get for the x3 in my personal experience id go with the x3 as i said the 5610 is outdated now even though i think it looks nicer
the x3 has a very good loud music player with a decent set of headphone so for music yes its much better it has a better camera email client built in and a better standard browser for the internet
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
    Now using the Lumia 1520

  • Nokia 5530 xpress music: The volume goes down when...

    Hi All
I hope all of you are fine
Nokia 5530 xpress music: when I play the music without Nokia headset the volume seems great but when I play the same song with headset the volume goes down.
is the problem from Nokia Headset or from the mobile itself?
    Thanks in advance

    I think this is Normal.
Otherwise It wouldn't do your hearing much good if you set the volume to maximum and then plugged in your headset

I have nokia 5130 xpress music. Why I can't install firefox in my phone.

    Hi 08ik,
Unfortunately, the Nokia 5130 is a feature phone (a.k.a, a "dumb" phone). Firefox will currently only run on smart phone devices that operated by Android.
Firefox is compatible with Android 2.1 and above devices with hardware requirements recommending at least 512 MB of RAM.

  • Updating NOKIA 5800 Xpress Music!

    Hello everybody!
I've got problems with updating my fabulous Nokia 5800 Xpress Music! Well, I've got still installed 31.0.101 firmware version. So I wanted to update my phone to "41" or latest versions, but nothning happens! I run my "Nokia software update" and it says that "there is no update available" or "your phone is already up to date"! Thing is the same if I press all know function *#0000# and try to update there.  Also the same in Nokia PC Suite...
So, Nokia fans and employees, please help me with some tricks, that I can improve performance of my Nokia... Thanks a lot!

Reasons why a phone cannot update:
    1. It is a country variant - country variants often get the updates later, or have updates skipped altogether. A Turkish country variant product code for example, skipped v40 and updated from v31 straight to v50.
    2. It is network branded - phones acquired from network providers or these providers' stores SIM free are branded, and will not get updates until the networks approve and modify the updates to their liking.
    3. Special editions - These special editions are chartered editions and may never get updates unless taken to a Nokia Care center.

  • Problem with Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

Hello. I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music for about a year now and been taking great care of it. I don't know why but a while ago it started freezing at times when i would try to turn on the camera..had to multiple times restart the phone and remove the battery in order to make it work (In the open applications menu it would show the camera running but you wouldn't be able to use it). Then i noticed that the two touch buttons it has in the main screen (dialing and phonebook shortcuts) wont work either, no matter how many times i press them nothing happens. Same goes for the Green and Red button on the left and the right side of the phone (Accept/Decline buttons), they won't work either when i'm on the main screen (wallpaper), they do work in the main menu though. I tried resetting my phone to manufacturer settings but nothing happened. What is wrong with my phone? Can anybody help me with it very please?

    @guilty_gr
    Welcome to the forum!
When you say restored "factory settings" I don't know whether you mean that you backed up essential data then keyed in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by yourself); I would remove any memory card first and see if any difference before restoring device.
