Nokia 5700; message icon blinking

hey, the message icon on the top right corner of my mobile lcd has started blinking, i've no new messages, memory is also not full, there are also no sim messages, i've checked everything but its not stopping. help me. anyone. also, my mobile is not sending any text messages lately. it says: "memory full. ry closing some application and try again". my security code is also not working, so i cant format it. and neither can i change the firmware coz its up to date.

Nokia 5800, Message icon flashed, no message recei...

I think it said something along the lines of:
You can't receive the message because your memory is full.
So i deleted the messages to make space, the flashy icon is gone, but when does this message come through ?

the message will only stay pending as long as network can hold them for try clearing up some more memo by deleting unwanted images etc you can call your operator and ask for a message retrieval as far as i no the previous 24 hrs can be retrieved

Nokia 6300 - Instant Messaging icon/functionality ...

Hi everybody,
I'm from Canada, and just bought a Nokia 6300 brand new a few days ago. This morning, I went on my phone to change the wallpaper, and for a second, the phone blinked and changed back to the default provider theme. I then changed back the wallpaper, but when I go into the menu, my instant messaging icon is not there anymore. Obviously, restarting the phone didn't solve the problem.
I don't know if anybody got this problem before. I've seen other functionalities missing like Calculator and Email and such, so maybe it's a software fault. Anyone can advise how to fix this problem? Is this a good phone or I just see the problems with it?
My firmware version is 4.71 28/02/2007.

It seems like your phones software has gone a bit corrupted. Please update it with the Nokia Software Updater. This should solve your problem, if not then you need to take the phone to a Nokia Service Center.

Blinking message Icon - Please help!

Hi all!
On my new E75, there is a continously blinking message icon on the upper right corner. It's been happening ever since i bought it. I've checked my unread messages and emails - there even seems to be nothing about it in the User Guide book. Please help me - I find it highly irritating and distracting.

N96 - Blinking Message Icon on screen

Hi,
I just bought the phone yesterday and the message icon keeps blinking all the time. I have rebooted the phone and done the necessary checks. There are no messges in my inbox or any other folder. Can you tell me how do I turn it off? It's kinda irritating...!
It just keeps on blinking ALL THE TIME!!!
Other than that... I've had no issues till now.

E51 Update and now 'New Voice Message Icon' and no...

Hello out there,
28/08/2009 updated the os on my E51 phone through nokia. All OK except 'New Voice Messages' icon shows and my voice mails is empty. Well before the OS update I had my voice mail switched off by my mobile provider (t-mobile) as I do not use voice mail.
Have dialed my voice mail and checked that there are no messages, even tried the delete messages, even though the option is not there just in case.
Any ideas ?

I, too, have the same problem. My phone came new with firmware 300.34.56 . And since I started using the phone I always have a New Voice Message icon after a phone restart while there are actually no messages.
It is a very bad bug because I don't really know if I actually got a new voice message or not.
I don't want to upgrade to firmware 400.xxx yet because I've heard it has lots of bugs.
Please, advice !

5230 - Missing Messaging Icon - HELP!!

Just bought Nokia 5230 & attempted to 'organise' the menu page!! I managed to lose calendar, maps & messaging Icons. Eventually found maps & calendar hiding on Music page?? Managed to put them back using 'root folder/file' however, messaging icon has completely vanished. I've restored factory settings but still nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - only had it a day - typical!!!!

Although it would mean loss of all data if you have now transferred it across, you may need to carry out "hard reset" by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lockcode unless altered by yourself) due to UDP = User Data Preservation feature of your 5230; this would return device to "Out of the box" state.

Desktop icons blink on and off; computer won't boot

I was recently trying to view a quick time file on a dvd when I got the message that some components may be missing to view the file. I downloaded the components from Avid and put them into my quicktime folder (Library>>>Quicktime folder).
When that didn't work, I removed the older component that had been in the folder and tried to to view the DVD again. This time I was unable to even open Quicktime. I tried to return the "old" component back into the Quicktime folder, but kept getting an error message. Something along the lines of "an unexpected error occured."
I then attempted to reboot the computer. That's when the trouble really started.
My computer now gets to my desktop; all the icons blink on and off, and then the computer seems to try and try to start. I assume that the component I removed was in the start up sequence, but a) I don't know for sure, b) I, of course, can't get on to find out, and c) even if that is the problem, I don't know how to fix it without getting that error message.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any thoughts? All assistance will be HIGHLY appreciated. Thank you.

Restart your machine with the Command and S keys held down, and enter the following commands:
mount -uw /
mv /Library/QuickTime/ /Library/QuickTime_old/
exit
Your computer should then continue the startup sequence; if it finishes starting up, the components you installed were responsible for your issue. My own /Library/QuickTime/ folder is empty, so the folder doesn't contain anything critical.

Recently I formatted the memory card for my Nokia 5700.
After that, when I tried to use the Dictionary application (english to chinese), the error message "dictionary word database missing. install word database" will appear.
any idea where I can find this word database?

Nokia 5700 XpressMusic Browser Crash

My Nokia 5700 XM's Web Browser crashes as soon as i run it.
As soon as i click on "Browser", it seems like opening, but quits suddenly.. Please let me know how to restore it.. I'm very much in need of it..
And also some of the applications seem to remain in the phone though i've removed it completely.. The icons of the removed applications will still be present, even after uninstalling..
Please help me out removing them..

N73 message icon stuck on

Does anyone know of a fix to remove the message icon. Also everytime the phone is turned on l get a message telling mr that l have a new voice mail on line one. Have talked to orange many times they cannot fix it, claiming this to be a known problem with this set. But also claim there is a fix available from Nokia. Any idea's?????

Flashing envelope could be caused by
1. You may just have an unread SMS from your last phone that is still saved on your SIM card. To check, goto Messaging>Options>SIM messages.
2. SIM card's message memory is full. Delete messages from the SIM card. Goto Messaging>Options>SIM messages
3. Phones messaging memory is full. Try deleting messages, also checking in, Sent and drafts.
4. Even though all your messages may be marked as read, just going down through the list and opening them all again one by one have also been known to resolve this issue. This could take some time but is worth a try if you do not want to delete any messages.

Nokia 5800 message notification

I have a nokia 5800 xpress music and since two days ago it doesn't ring when i get a new message, it doesn't show the "you have a new message" on the screen neither the message icon on the top right screen, the message simply goes to the inbox as non read. However the the middle button does flash when there is a non read message in inbox. i tried to turn the phone off and on and it didn't work...sugestions?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Nokia forum.
We are really sorry for this inconvenience.
In order to fix this issue, I would advise you to perform a soft reset on your phone. Enter *#7780# on your keypad, default lock code is 12345.
If the problem persists, I would suggest you to perform a hard reset. First of all, back up your data using Nokia Suite (Tools > Back up). Once your data is fully backed up, type *#7370# on the keypad. Default lock code is 12345.
The hard reset will dellete all your personal information, that's why a back up is very important.
Alternatively, you may also check for updates on Nokia Suite (by going to Tools > Updates).
