Nokia 5800 - keep screen on when charging?

Is there a way to keep the screen of the Nokia 5800 turned on when the phone is plugged into a charger. This functionality was available on many older generation (non-Symbian) Nokia phones, but I can't find such a setting on the 5800.
Similarly, it would be useful to have a way to keep the phone unlocked when it is plugged into a charger.

Try clearing privacy data in browser to get a bit of ram back. if no good , do hard reset, you'll need to re-set up phone so back up first. Then type *#7370# and use passkey 12345 and phone will re-start and be like'out of the box' your memory card will not be affected.

I do not know y my nokia 5800 keeps connecting to wifi every day...few times a day...
i have to manually disconnect the wifi but it will connect again later on....
i think it could be a virus or bug when i already set to manual connection for the search availability option...
could someone explain to me asap the CAUSE of it...ty

Another culprit is Share Online. Even caught me out once... I came to the (obviously false) conclusion that some theme contained a form of malware and was doing naughty things, bit then remembered that I'd set share online to update automatically every 6 hours.

Iphone 3gs keeps rebooting often when charging on Kensington Dock n Belkin

I recently bought a Kensington Dock and a Belkin FM transmitter *** car charger for my Iphone 3gs (OS 4). When charging on the dock the phone keeps rebooting often. It doesnt happen if I'm just charging the phone using the regular charger OR when USB connected to the computer. Can someone advise why this happens when charging the Iphone using a Kensington dock OR belkin FM transmiter *** car charger. Both accessories are suppposed to be compatible with Iphone 3gs.

Hate to say, but if your phone has been rebooted, restored or recovered. It sounds like a hardware issue. Send it to the refuribish line with the rest of them. Now i know you said you restored it. but there are a couple other ways of doing it that might help.
1. Reboot methods. The first thing to do is try to reboot the iPhone, which you can do by holding the top button and the home button for about ten seconds. In some cases, the iPhone is actually still on, but a bug stops the screen from displaying anything, so you can reverse the problem by doing the reboot. If you still see nothing on the screen, try to plug the iPhone in and again try the reboot methods to see if you can get the screen to display.
2. Restoring the iPhone. If the iPhone shows up in iTunes, but it still doesn't seem to turn on, it's definitely a display problem. When rebooting fails, you can restore the iPhone from iTunes, and this should fix whatever bugs caused the original issue. Realize that you'll have to reload your music if you restore to another software version. To restore, plug the iPhone in, go into iTunes and click the iPhone's icon on the side of the select screen. Click on the restore button and agree to the prompt asking if you really want to restore the iPhone's software.
3. Recovery mode. You can put the iPhone into recovery mode if it has a charged battery by holding down the home button before connecting it to iTunes, then continuing to hold the button until iTunes recognizes that the iPhone's in recovery mode. Recovery mode is a bare-bones way of booting the iPhone that allows you to perform a restore when you're dealing with a serious issue such as the iPhone failing to turn on or display anything on its screen.
try one of these if you havent already. if still nothing, its time to take it in or get a new phone.

Suppress screen lock when charging? (N8)

Is there a way to suppress the screen lock when the N8 is connected to USB or the charger?

Actually it is possible. The app "lights on" http://store.ovi.com/content/8172 senses whether the phone is charging and keeps the screen on. I used this all the time on my old N95 and did install it when I first got the N8. I decided to uninstall it as there is some concern about AMOLED screen life if displaying a static image for long periods, so haven't tried it since the Anna and Belle updates. It is your choice whether to use it if the risk of screen damage is real and significant - I didn't feel that I knew enough to risk it. If you want a free app that will keep the screen on, but without the automation that the above app offers. I do kept my screen on for fairly short periods using Le countdown, http://store.ovi.com/content/53253 which has a setting to keep the screen active which works even when you put the app in the background. I would again suggest that you make sure that you are happy with the potential risk of screen damage before you decide whether to keep it active for extended periods.

Nokia 5800 keeps losing wifi signal

When i connect to the internet, ovi store, google maps....anything that requires a connect on my nokia 5800 using my wi-fi it only stays connected for about 30-60 seconds then it says connection lost, it makes using wifi at home just impossible. There is nothing wrong with my internet as i conect to my modem with my ps3, psp and laptop and never ever lose signal. The signal strength on the nokia 5800 is over 80% and am never more then 10 feet away from modem but still constanly loses signal.....please help

I am also having the same problem I have to wireless routers in my house never had any problems before connecting to them but just this past week it my phone keeps losing connection and if I do a refresh it picks them up but once I try to connect. I get the messiah no wlan connections available.
Am thinking of contacting orange and asking for a replacement after all I do pay the £5 a month insurance.

Nokia 5800 XM - Screen Flickering

I have purchased Nokia 5800 XM in the month of Jan.
I am facing a strange issue. When i try to unlock my cell the screen is flickering where i cant see any thing but blurr images.
You cant see whats on the screen. You just cant operate your cell.
XM has a lot of problems and I recommend not to buy this cell.

You have simply got a faulty phone, take it to a nokia care point and get it repaired under warranty.
Over three million 5800's have been sold now so it's a bit late that you are advising people not to buy it

Ihpone 5 Touch screen unresponsive when charging

I noticed my screen became Unresponsive and behaving erratically while it was charging. The charger is an Apple OEM charger. If I unplug it from the phone the screen begins to work normally again.

Hi guys. I was having the same problem. Found this one another thread.
"Update: after my second iPhone 5 immediately had the same problem, again only when charging, I called Apple back. I had been using a third party USB wall plug and they recommended using the factory wall plug. No issues what-so- ever after the switch. They even told me to stop into my local store and they'd swap my third party adapter out with another Apple adapter at no charge. I'm very satisfied."
I'm using a 3rd party plug in b/c I lost my one from Apple. Haven't swapped yet, but it sounds like this might be the problem.

A few months ago i replaced my nokia 5800 screen with an unofficial one. After a recent update the screen stopped working. If I install a new and genuine nokia screen will this fix the problem?

Phone keeps turning on when charging

When I switch my z 10 phone off and put on charge it starts flashing so switched off but when it fully charges it turns itself back on a emails keep waking me up through night I could put on silent..
I want it to stay switched off is there a setting that needs correcting?

To clarify, you want your device to remain off when charging? Or do you want to prevent notifications from being played at night while sleeping?
What software version does your device have installed? Are you powering off your device then connecting to the charger or are you powering it off after it's connected to the charger?
Are you unable to turn on bedside mode to disable sounds and the LED whilst sleeping? Or you were unaware of this feature?

HOW TO KEEP SCREEN ON WHEN USING GPS OR SHOOTING THE VIDEO

I was wondering if there any setting I could leave the screen on when using GPS or shooting the video, I'm currently set backlight timeout is 2 mins. After 2 mins device will automatically out and I have to reenter the password for continue my video, This is very inconvenience when using GPS or shooting the video.
Is there any one out there can assist? thanks in advance.

E7 - screen unresponsive when charging

The touchscreen on my E7 becomes unresponsive while charging. Essentially it seems to be losing it's accuracy. It stilll works somewhat but you have to tap all over the screen to get a response, and then it's not the one you want.
I noticed the same on a friend's C7. Anyone else noticed the same.

Does this occur when connected to a mains charger, a computer or both ? I tend to get a little slowing down (not innaccuracy) when connected to computer via usb, but no change when connected to mains, can only assume there is some processing going on whilst connected to computer ! It's not somethying I've noticed before, just tried it after reading your post, so I obviously don't see it as a major issue, and this is the first post I've seen on theis subject !

What does the screen display when charging?

I finally got my nano to keep charging while not updating from itunes...since this is my first charge, my screen is displaying "do not disconnect" with the lightning bolt going through a green battery in upper rt. corner of screen. Does this mean it is actually charging? When it finishes charging does the "do not disconnect" go away?

Nokia 5800 XM - Gallery hangs when trying to open ...

Hello All,
I searched all over the internet to see if any other 5800 owner has similar issue but i guess not. When I try to open any image (which is on phone memory) with memory card inserted the gallery hangs, Even trying to open an image or movie clip stored in memory card behaves same. I can open the same files using file manager under application.
I noticed this issue the next day after i purchased my handset and went to nokia customer care and they replaced the MM card( well it took almost month for them) now this is the replaced card. It worked for some hours i was able to view images using gallery and now all of a sudden it has stopped responding. Has this got to do with any application which is installed on memory card?
I am going to try to format my MM card and try putting single pic on phone and then on memory card and try. Any one please has any other suggestion?
I have many song videos on my MMC. i have uninstalled all the applications whihc were there on my memory card like marle maze and some others which i had installed.
Once i connect to OVI PC Suite i am unable to select remove storage device as it always shows in use so i always used to switch mode to mass storage from PC suite and then remove storage device and disconnect it. Is this correct method?

well, i got the solution.
1). remove the memory card from ur cell.
2). On the cell without memory card.(you will see no trouble wid Gallery now.)
3). Now OFF ur cell and put the memory card in the cell.
4). Now Format the memory card by phone memory card menu.
5). Restart your Cell, copy the contents to memory card, whatever the size of contents are.....
6). And finally, go to Gallery and enjoy the features of Boombastic 5800..

I also have the same problem. The text displayed in the midlle of the screen is slightly inclined to the top. You can cleary see this when you are in the Help Section.
