Nokia 5800 not recognizing Nokia HS-45/AD-54 Music...

I am having issues with the Nokia HS-45/AD-54 Music Headset that comes with the Nokia 5800. It was working fine untill yesterday at which point the phone is no longer recogniziing it as a valid accessory. Has anybody else had this issue. I have rebooted the phone but still the problem persisits.
The phone is running firmware version V20.0.012

How is the audio quality of HS-45, AD-54? I use HS-47 with my 6110 Navigator and the 'bass' produced from it is terrible even with bass-boast in "off" position. I want to buy a new headset.
I also found HS-81 with Sennheiser logo. I'm not sure whether it comes with ff and re buttons. It didn't mentioned in "features" and the picture shown is not distinct.
Please help me comparing sound quality of following headsets:
1) HS-44 AD-44
2) HS-45 AD-54
3) HS-81

Instant Messeging on Nokia 5800 not opening

When i open Nokia's inbuit Insant Messenger (IM) under applications on my Nokia 5800, the screen splashes and gets closed. I dont know why? It is strange. All i did so far is just updated my software and now my version is 30.0.0.11 SW version date 29-6-2009. Latest Update was on 20-8-2009.
Any responsible person from nokia developers teeam please help me with this issue. I would like to use it.

Actually you may just need to reinstall it, but I do not know where to get the reinstaller. a hard reset MIGHT do the trick though.

Nokia 5800 not receiving texts problem!

Hi guys Bought the Nokia 5800 about 2 weeks ago and all has been fine with it until recently.....
Ive done no modifications of upgrades or played about with any of the settings..
But now for some reason im not receiving text messages when they are sent??
The only way I can get them is by either sending one, turning my phone off then back on or by going into message settings and selecting view sim messages then the message will pop up....
But I have to do this everytime which is quite annoying! I can do everything else fine....send messages, ring people receive calls etc.
Ive rang vodaphone and 5 times they have fobbed me off with different things to try and none have worked....Ive tried the hard reset and still nothing!
Is anybody else having this problem, or does anyone know a solution to fix it?

I haved the same problem and I think I solved it, and it works (right now and hopefully also in future).
I have 5800XM with latest firmware upgrade - V30.0.011
THIS IS NOT NEEDED BUT USEFULL
Connect your phone (with phone battery loaded on full) to PC. Make backup of your phone data. Menu START, Nokia, Nokia Ovi, Content Copier
If you have V20 or V21... *#0000# - select this combination as a phone number to check what version do you have. If you have V20 you can update firmware to V21 via NSU (Nokia Software Updater). All international language versions beside English are corrupt (last week I checked, maybe something changed) so better use English version because it's always latest, fresh etc. ALWAYS read what NSU talk to you on the screen.
If you have already V21, update to V30 you can do only from phone. You must have access to stable WIFI connection (because file to download is something like 5MB size) and phone battery loaded on full. I'm using Polish language so I don't know how it's named in English but... Press middle button twice, go to Preferences, go to Phone and find icon with arrow ("Phone management" or something like that) then phone icon with arrow straight down - this is responsible for firmware update.
THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE (OR IF YOU HAVE BASIC FIRMARE VERSION) AND DON'T GET NEW MESSAGE INDICATION AND/OR NEW SMS SOUND INDICATION
Press middle button twice, go to Preferences, go to Phone and find icon with arrow - "Phone management" or something like that, then pure phone icon - "Factory settings" or something like that. Some window arrive, click OK. This is not hardcore format, you don't loose anything.
After this operation you will have "clean screen" like straight from factory, so if you haved before little "tuned" screen and overall phone (added phonebook contacts from SIM card, selected wallpaper, different profile etc.)... you know what to do - tune it again. ;PP
I tested it. On different profiles (General, Outside - one hella loud profile on 5800 speakers, better don't use it rooms where silent is needed xD), with upcoming sms when screen was active, with upcoming sms when screen was locked - indication works with the sound!
Turning on/off phone registry logging (incoming/outgoing connections, sms etc.) got nothing to do with solving this problem.
Have hope it helps someone... This is for 5800 but what I see also other Nokia models have the same problem so maybe other users find this post usefull too.

Nokia 5800 not responding

Hi, i just bought a new Nokia 5800. Recently, while I was playing a sound file, it stopped and when I checked what was wrong, i found that the phone is no longer responding! I had to press the menu key a couple of times before it return to the homescreen. After that, I can no longer enter the gallery, specifically the one with images and videos. When I enter that folder, the phone stops responding again. Before it stopped, i saw that there was some sort of corruption of data going on since a certain video multiplied but is unable for deletion. I've never dropped the phone or got it wet. I plugged my phone to the computer and I saw a corrupted folder in the media drive. Please help.

You could try and see if the memory card is causing problems by removing it and see if the phone still responds the same. Asides from that, I would make a backup of the phone's data and either do a software update or format it.

5800 not recognized (Windows 7)

my 5800 is listed as an "unknown device" in Windows' device manager. I installed Ovi suite before connecting the phone. The phone IS recognized when connected in mass storage mode, not so in pc suite mode. Servicelayer.exe is up and running. Any help, please?
Edit: Spoke too soon. I removed the phone from the device manager in an effort to let it reinstall drivers. Well, now the phone is not even recognized in mass storage mode, anymore.

same problem with WIN7-final (ultimate Ed.) for me...pls help... Nokia software is **bleep** again... Device not recognized.... PC Suite installed first.....30 minutes have passed and it says in Get connected - "Windows is installing PC connectivity drivers, please wait " ...I'm waiting for 30 minutes now... and nothing...
I'll try total removal in a few minutes if it cheeps this way.. .. It's always a problem with nokia software ... their programmers don't do a very good job...sadly ..

Nokia 5800 applications on nokia.co.in

Most of the applications available for download for the Nokia 5800 on nokia.co.in have expired certificates or just down work at all. I hope someone in charge of that site / applications will fix this asap.

Help! Windows Vista not recognizing Nokia C5

Hi,
I just purchased a New Nokia C5-00 5 days back but i am not able to synchronize it with my PC. Everytime I connect my phone with the PC using the provided CA-101D data cable, nothing pops up on the phone screen to select PC Suite or Mass Storage etc.. Neither my PC recognizes the phone.. Not even the usual USB connectivity sound..
My old Nokia E51 simply works fine as soon as I plug it into the USB..
I have checked the settings. i.e. Menu>Settings>Connectivity>USB
USB Connection Mode: PC Suite
Ask on Connection: Yes
I even updated the Nokia PC Suite, later uninstalled it and cleaned files using Nokia Cleaner.. Then also installed the Ovi Suite 2.2 but no help.. Again my old E51 works good with both the suites..
Later on I even restored factory settings too but it is not working either..
Plz help in this regard.. What can be wrong? I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate..

Nokia 6682 not recognized by iSync (using usb cable)

Isync does not recognize my new Nokia 6682 when using a USB cable. My Powerbook does not have Bluetooth. I also don't see an icon on the desktop or any other evidence that the phone is connected to the powerbook. Do I need to change any settings on the phone or the powerbook?

Synchronization and file transfer to Nokia supported mobile handsets and smartphones is not supported via USB - you must instead use Bluetooth. As a general rule, such events are supported via USB only with Motorola mobile handsets.

Software Update for Nokia 5800 ---Not Available In...

On the Nokia-Asia Website it clearly states the V31 Firmware update is available, but when i try to Update my phone, it does not pick up that the update is available( i have tried both Nokia Software Updater & Using the phone's updater)
Is this just for Australia,or is there a problem with my phone?

HELP! Nokia 3220 not recognized through DKU-5 cabl...

Hi Gurus,
The story seems known, but I'm very complicated with this. I have a Nokia 3220 phone and a non-Nokia DKU-5 cable. My PC have Windows 2000 SP4, I installed the driver from the CD of the cable's manufacturer, restarted the computer and verified the virtual serial port, that apparently is well configured.
Following, I installed PC Suite 6.80.22 and connected the cable, then with the Connection Manager configured the port and finally connected the phone, but the program waits indefinitely.
The phone says "Accesory not compatible". Which should be the speed of the COM port? has some relevancy for the communication with the phone?

Nokia 5230 not recognized by Ovi Suite

Hello, Ovi Suite no longer recognizes my Nokia 5230 since I switched to version 3.0.0.284.
Windows Vista and Nokia PC Suite recognizes it.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Ovi suite but to no avail.

1. Here are the instructions for attaching log files:
- Open Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.284
- Enable log gathering by double-clicking the enable_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
- Click the button to start enabling the logs when prompted by the dialogue
- Click the button to confirm the "Logs are enabled" dialogue
- Exit Nokia Ovi Suite from File - Exit. This is mandatory! Closing NOS to system tray is not enough!
- Open Nokia Ovi Suite again
- Try to reproduce the error you are reporting
- If the error still exists, double click the collect_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
- Click the button to start collecting the logs when prompted by the dialogue
- Click the button to confirm the "Logs collect & zip finished" dialogue
- Attach the NOS2_logs.zip file in C:\Temp\NOS2 folder and screenshots in the error reporting form
- Go to your %TEMP% folder, which can be found by entering %TEMP% to the Windows Explorer's address bar. Then search debug_log_date.txt in this folder, where date is the current date (or choose the latest one) and attach also this file in the error reporting form. The exact %TEMP% folder paths are:
In XP: C:\Documents and settings\your_username\LocalSettings\Temp\
In Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Temp\

Nokia 6205 not recognizing pics on memory card

My brand new Nokia 6205 won't recognize my pictures from my old phone and load them onto this new phone. They're saved on my SD memory card.
I have pictures of my dog that I lost on mothers day. I've missed him since he passed away and I want to use them as my wallpaper like I did one my old phone and they won't come up anyone know how to get this phone to recognize them
I'm madder than a wet hen over this it's the whole reason I picked this phone because of the removable memory

Insert your old memory card to a card reader - and connect it to a PC. Then copy the files to your new microSD card.

Nokia 5800 not locking screen automatically

Hello everyone!
As far as I know, you can set up your phone to lock the screen after a period of inactivity, to prevent it from being touched unwantedly. I was able to do it before, but after I did a hard reset, it seems not to work, even though I set the period after which I want it to be locked. Is anyone also having this issue?

Backlight time setting and auto keyguard are 2 separate settings. Did you set the time for backlight or auto keyguard? (Menu-->Settings-->Phone-->Phone management-->Auto Keyguard...)

Nokia Browser not working - Nokia 114

I have nokia 114. When i was surfing in Nokia browser(default), a message was shown to download new version (nokia express). During downloading/ installation, it hanged & now, when i am trying to open, no responce. I am unable to access it. I have nokia pc suite. But it has not usb port. & my pc doesn't have bluetooth. What to do now?

Okay lets try this if it works:
Compose a new SMS.
Type in - http://download.browser.ovi.com/ and either save it as draft or send it to yourself.
Now open this message. If its in draft, select on Options> View
Now the link inside the message will be clickable. Click on it to open the default page which will take you to the download page for Nokia Browser.
Download it from there, let it install
Hoefully it will work find after it gets successfully installed.
Let me know how it goes
If it doesn't work, maybe Nokia Care will be way to go.

ITunes 6.0.4 not recognizing most current incarnation of iTunes Music

The contents of my iPod (which is currently unconnected for safety's sake) appears to be reflected in the Music>iTunes>iTunes Music folder. iTunes 6.0.4 seems to be loading an older Library.
Is there a way to re-import this music without needing to either back it up or create a duplicate on the hard drive (or a removable drive)?
I have also thought of simply recovering from iPod, but would need to free up the same amount of space taken by the contents of the iTunes Music folder.

From the Keyboard Shortcuts in the iTunes Help menu:
iPod shortcuts
Prevent iPod from automatically updating when you connect it to your computer
Command-Option as you connect the iPod to your computer (hold the keys down until the iPod appears in the iTunes Source list)
After that you can use Senuti or iPodRip (latest versions on versiontracker.com) to transfer songs and/or playlists back to the iTunes Library.
