Nokia 5800 swipe to answer not working in firmware...

Hello, I have updated my nokia 5800 xm last week using nokia pc suite. Everything was working fine till last week. Now, whenever I recieve a call, I'm not able to answer the call by sliding the answer option in the screen. I have to unlock the touch screen by using the unlock button and then all the buttons in my touch screen works and then i'm able to answer my call.
someone please help!!!!!!!!!

Done all that for same problem inc Nokia care centre who sent it off because they couldn't fix it and it has come back with reinstalled firmware etc etc but still this does not work!

Please go to your camera settings and activate Night shooting mode or night portrait mode and Turn on the flash.
If this does not work please perform a hard reset using the code *#7370# security code 12345 if asked, remember to back up first using Nokia Suite.
As your flash is is working during the day, I do not think that this issue is a hardware problem. But if these steps do not solve your issue please visit a Nokia Care Point to take a closer look at your device.

Frequently my 5800 touch screen is not working. Some times I am unable to use the screen. It's just hung. The call, menu and disconnect buttons only work during this time. Can any please let me know what might be the problem.?

Dear all,
I had the same issue with my nokia 5800, finally I found very interesting thing, I have been doing everything to bring my phone back to original condition where simply I can touch and access the phone.
Actually the issue was with the thin plastic piece which was put on the touch screen for its protection. I was struggling to touch and access the phone but i coudnt for almost 2 weeks, it was directing me to bottom left corner touch buttons of the phone and automatically opens and activate functional which I didn't want.
Solution was, I simply removed the thin plastic layer from the phone , Now it works fine.

Nokia 6120 Classic Accept button not working

I have a Nokia 6120 Classic and is not working fine. I have decided to change my mobile.
Before change my mobile I want to backup all my data and telephone numbers. The problem is that Accept button is not working correct. When I start my mobile I can enter pin number but after this I can't enter the date because I have to use Accept button (the one in the top left). Is there any possibility to skip entering date? This is the only wey to enter mobile and backup my data

I was going to take it to Nokia care but duh? Should the button stop working suddenly? Without anything wrong also the same with the camera button also I'm not the first one to have this problem right? Then its not our problem but its Nokia's I thought there's another solution, but yeah I'm making angry posts can you just make good products? I see all the people complaint about that button **bleep**, you better not talk while maybe the problem from th company.

hi mate,
have you checked if there are any firmware updates available for your device? if there are any, please update to the latest version offered. if that fails, try reinstalling your current firmware thru Nokia Suite, and if that doesn't work, then Restore your phone to factory settings.

Please could you try to perform a soft reset on your device using the code *#7780# security code 12345 by default if prompted. It is best to create a back up on nokia suite before performing the soft reset, you will not lose any data however it will reset your device settings to factory conditions.
If it is still not working, please try and remove all your profiles from your social app, restart your device and re-sync them.
Let us know how you get on and feel free to post any other questions you may have.

Phone not working after firmware update for nokia ...

I tried updating my nokia 5800 today when the new firmware was released. i have already updated my other phone including another 5800. But when I updated the firmware of another 5800 (my 5800 through nokia software updater from pc/laptop), after the nokia updater application said that the update was successful, my phone showed the nokia logo with the new firmware version. It's supposed to reboot automatically and continue as normal but after waiting for like 15 minutes, my phone's still not turning on and still showed on the screen that the phone was not connected. That's when I unplugged it off from the USB cable and tried to turn it on, but it will just vibrate for a few seconds and then nothing! It won't turn on or work! I've tried to search on how to fix this problem but to no avail.. please help me.. is my phone going to work again?

5800 Connection Manager is not working correctly

I have my preferred connections setup with my home WLAN as priority, then my cell phone provider (ATT) as the last priority. The connection manager switches from my WLAN to ATT everytime I go out of range of my WLAN fully automatically. So that part is working as designed.
The problem is when I get back to my home WLAN the connection manager doesn't automatically drop the EDGE or 3G connection and connect to my WLAN.
To make things worse, even if I kill the EDGE or 3G connection manually, it may or may not pick up my WLAN and start using it.
Then, if I can get the WLAN to connect, the connection manager will insist on connecting to the EDGE/3G connection and disconnecting the WLAN.
This is crazy behavior. I've been pretty happy with the phone's stability over my old N78, but I hope to Zeus that a Firmware upgrade will be release that fixes this bug. It drives me nuts.
So far the only way I can get the connection manager to resume it's expected behavior is to power off the phone and pull the battery. Then it will behave for a few days before becoming schizophrenic.
If you have any tips on how to correct this behavior, I'd appreciate hearing it.

First, you may get much better response if you post in the appropriate forum. in you case, "Connectivity."
Dropping an active connection & switching to another connection is probably not designed behavior. So in your case if the 3G connection is active, I can understand why it is not switching to WLAN. I can also see why it might be a "nice-to-have" feature, but in some cases dropping an active connection may cause problems with applications that are using it, so you may end up with more problems if the connection kept changing (maybe).
Firmware upgrade will not change as-designed behavior, but what you're describing sounds like there's some application which is configured to use either "default" or the 3G connection. What I would do is look through all applications that are using the net and check the connection settings in each one and make sure it's set to use "Internet"
Another thing you can do is set the AT&T connection to "always ask" mode so that it doesn't get used without you clicking OK.

Magic mouse swipe between pages not working "only" in finders and preferences

I'm a new comer in this mac world like I just bought it less than a month ago and I'm already having trouble with it.
My apple magic mouse cannot swipe between pages "only" in finder and preferences. I mean it works perfectly fine with Safari and stuff but when it comes to finder, I cannot move between folders by swiping with one finger. Ironically, it works fine if I change it to two finger swipe option by sacrificing 'Swipe between full-screen app' feature as it uses two fingers. Apple customer support that I talked to could not figure it out and I'm hoping to find answers here. I mean it's really awkward as it works with two fingers but not with one finger. Plus, one finger swipe works fine in Safari and other apps.
I did what I can - restarting, -switch on and off the mouse, - PRAM reset, - trying in serfdom, -remove and pair up again the mouse, -run repair permission in disk utility.
I use Mac Mini late 2014 with Yosemite 10.10.1 and this just happened all of sudden.
Please help!!

Nokia Charging Stand NFC does not work on 920

I just received my Nokia Charging Stand DT-910 to go with my ATT Nokia 920.
1) I ordered the black stand. The stand and proprietary cord are black, but that huge AC charger is actually white. I can't believe that they didn't match the color on such an expensive accessory.
2) The actual NFC functionality does not work for me on the 920. Yes, when I tap the 920 to the base of the stand, I correctly get the NFC popup, and when I accept it takes me to what is obviously the Nokia software. The screen is titled "Charging Stand", and it starts on the Set Up page. It shows a diagram of the charging stand. The problem is that this app hangs. The progress dots on the top of the screen never stop moving. And the list where I am supposed to choose the application to open stays greyed out and never responds. It just continues hung like this forever, or on one occasion the phone rebooted itself.
Is there a fix for this? The software hang is making my stand useless in terms of it's NFC functionality....

You can actually get to more support options from that link, like here, http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/contact/ which offers chat and phone numbers. Not sure what could happen in this case though, as there just seems to be some issues in the NFC implementation. Seems it varies a bit between devices, but overall has some issues. I would guess the number of folks with a wireless charge capability, that also know about this forum is probably small, but I'm sure the issue will gain some visibility as more folks give it a try. As I said I got it past the streaming dots and selected an app to launch, but now I have the interminably slow app launch. The same app that springs up instantaneously from the start or program menu, takes 5-10 minutes to launch when initiated via the NFC tap. I've just turned this off for now, as I expect some software update at some point. I have done some other NFC stuff with marginal success. Tapping the charging base to start an app is not a make or break feature for me. If it is for you, contact Nokia directly, rather than through this user forum.

I noticed from FAQs the following tip:
If you have this problem after software update, format memory card in your device. Refer to your device user guide for instructions. Following this your music need to be resynchronised from your PC back to your device using the Nokia Music Player -application.
I guess you could just remove the non-working music files from the device and re-download those from Nokia Music Player your account/purchased music section. Maybe it would be best to try this first with just one song :-)

The "master codes" are a myth, and don't work!
If you forgot your phone's security code, only a Nokia Care Point can reset the security code.

Magic Mouse two finger swipe (forward/back) not working with Opera 10.

Magic Mouse left and right two finger swipe (forward and back) works great with Safari, Firefox, and Camino.
I enjoy using Opera 10 and noticed that the two finger swipe does not function with Opera. Any ideas on why or what adjustments I can make to get it to work?

No workaround so far with this problem and also no posts in the Opera forums. Just have to wait until Opera includes this functionality in their next release.
In the meantime you can help by joining the forum (takes a minute) and posting your concern. The more people that join and voice their complaint the faster something will get coded into their browser.

Nokia Messaging 1.1 does not work properly

My phone model is E66. I installed Nokia Messaging 1.1 and it worked fine to me.
Then I upgraded my phone operating system, reinstalled Nokia Messaging 1.1. I setted up my account in Nokia Messaging, which is [email protected] While after inputing account name and password, it led me to a folder named gmail in messages. Then I tried to open the software, but nothing happend. I opened the Nokia Messaging Configuration, while it looked like nothing was setted.
Now everytime I power on my phone, it starts installation automatically and then fails.
Is there anyone help?

I tried but I cannot receive SMS from Nokia. BTW, I'm in China, and I'm not sure whether the service to my country is stopped.
I also tried access mail.nokia.com through the default browser of my phone. But the page displayed is same as the one in PC.
Now even after removing the software, the installation starts everytime I power on my phone, and then fails.
