Nokia 5800 update 50.0.005 Find song is missing?

I've updated my phone to the latest firmware version, but now it seems that option to find a song is missing (you know if you open all songs and if you have about 1000 you want to search for the song that you want, but the *find*option is missing in the options menu) ??? Is it only me?or it supposed to be like that?
nokia 8210->3310->3330->8890->6800->3220->6680->n72->E-90->5310XM->5610Xm->n82->n95 8gb->5800XM 8gb->2630

After upgrage to V50.0.005, i am not able to See music files those are available in V40.0.005. Though those are avialble in the music drive of the mobile but not able to retrive 2GB music files. I think the NOKIA testers and developers should do proper testing before release the product. Testers are either poor enough to raise internal bugs or not competant enough to work in the industry. how many times you people are doing sanity, performance, system testing for this firmware?i guess you you people are in a hurry. BUT why higher managements are not taking proper care of such kind of high issues raised by users?
This is really a poor stuffs as far as a SIX sigma company is concern.Send the latest update to solve all kind of issue at once. This is Too much ....

The version on my phone at the moment is v21.0.025 and when i try to update it on my phone it says no update available.
I tried downloading Nokia Update Software and getting it from there but the program wouldnt work either.
Is there any other way i can get the v40.0.005 were it should work? or even getting the knetic scrolling and applications without needing to get v40.0.005?
    Please need help!
    Thanks

Under your battery, there's a product code on a sticker (X: 0586707). Go here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update and type in your productcode to see if there should be an update for your productcode. If there's not, you could take your phone to a Nokia Carepoint and ask if they could do it - no promises. Or else you have to wait untill your productcode gets it.

  • Nokia 5800 update

I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress music  if I view the software version from OVI i get the following:
"Device software version V 40.0.005 installed. and no updates are available."
yet on my handset it says that version 50.0.005 is available an 11mb download.
How can I upgrade to version 50 from OVI I don't wanna to download the file straight from my phone.

If ovi doesn't offer you the update there is no way to force it to offer you.
Depending on the country some updates appear first on the phone as OTA update then sometimes later on OVI or the NSU (nokia software updater).
So if you want to update using OVI all you can do is wait and hope that the update appears sometime in the near future. No one can tell you if or when that will happen.
If I was you I would do the update via the phone as it's a safer method of updating. The most common cause of failed updates is the computer.  If you have access to a wi-fi hot spot or router it will not cost you anything in data charges to update because the 5800 has wi-fi.
Whichever method you use to update the end result is the same.

  • Nokia 5800 firmware v40.0.005 bugs that I faced

I was quite happy to see the new firmware update for my Nokia 5800.  Looking at the new features like kinetic scrolling etc.. I've installed the update with no second thoughts.  I had taken the back-up of what ever I wanted and ready for upgrade.
However, the below is the experience
    1. The update went smooth.  Phone has automatically restarted after the update.. I'm happy for few minutes.
    2. Basic functionality is fine.  Some of the applications like Opera Mobile were missing.  Understand that I need to reinstall them.  Also, wanted to update the Ovi Maps.
    3.  Tried S/W update option in the phone.  No application was able to install or upgrade.  After downloading the application, it just says update failed.
    4. Tried through PC Suite.  Experience is same.
    5. Soft reset the phone.  Now applications are getting installed or updated.  But there's another problem.
    6. Phone restarts itself upon any incoming call or alarm or any calendar alert.  This was very annoying!!
    7. Soft reset the phone again.  Imported the back-up.
    8. With zero customizations, the basic functionality is back.
    9. Installed Opera Mobile back. Phone is working fine.  But the touch key board provided by Opera is gone.  It goes to phones default input mode.
    10.  All the applications like Fring, Google Maps, GMail are gone.
    11. Installed Fring (from Ovi store). Phone restarted.
    12. The incoming call problem is back.  I can't simply take any incoming call.  Phone reboots automatically, when I hit any option on the screen.
    13. Uninstalled Fring.. Problem still exist.
    14. Soft reset again.. basic things are back.
    15. Don't have enough guts to install any new software.
    Summarizing:
    1. The firmware is very very unstable.  It seems to have a very narrow happy path.
    2. Beware!! Basic things like incoming calls are affected.
    3. Some applications are not happy with new firmware.  They can break the phone.
    4. If you had any security related application like WaveSecure, do not forget to install it again.
    Other issues found:
    1. Pause functionality has disappeared in the  Recorder tool.
    2. GPRS / WAP access points are taken in the order of preference.
Other than kinetic scrolling, I didn't find any major difference / benefit from this update.
Do it at your own risk.

  • HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP. nokia 5800 update

I had tried so many different ways to update my phone which has v21.0.025 since 2009. Now the latest being v 52.0.0...  i used FOTA with '#0000#. it says receiving data from nokia and later says no update available. I used ovi suite, then it says important v52.0.0..... to install. as i do backup and install it stops at 18 MB of download and the remaining time increase upt 60 minutes or so. After a while error shows up that something happened. My internet works very fine during the installation and outside the installation. i tried using NSU also. from NSU it doesnot even moves a bit. sucks i even called nokia customer care which says whats written in website which all people know. SO guys HELP.HELP. i am freaking yelling in loud voice HELP.

also if your phone is locked and branded, it is possible that your operator , i dont know why could have decided that they will not push the update to this phone. its strange if that were to happen but certainly an option to consider in this case you would have to call the operator and ask them about the update. just a thought i am not saying it the right reason, just another possibility

  • IOS 7 problems finding songs, playlist missing songs

I had a playlist that included several songs from a particular artist but since upgrading from iOS 6.1.3 I can only see one of the tracks remaining. The other songs appear to be removed and searching for missing songs/parent album/artist does not produce any results at all.
The songs are still on the iPhone and I can navigate to them, but only as follows:
Play the one surviving track from this artist/album still in my playlist.
Switch to 'now playing' to select other tracks on the album, including the missing playlist items that Music Search can't find.
It seems like an indexing problem. I'll try removing all the music and resyncing from iTunes and reply with the results. Maybe this will help someone else...
Running iOS 7.0.2 on iPhone 5 64GB. Problem has been present since iOS 7.0.0
    Music ~= 20-30GB on iPhone.

Third update (sync takes hours so I can only do this once a day...)
    iTunes 11.1.1 did not help.
I deleted all music on the device from Settings > Usage > Music > Edit > Delete (which, incidentally, took two attempts before it actually deleted it).
Then I performed a clean sync of my selected playlists again (about 5800 songs)
The sync completed but the iphone was still missing over 1500 songs.
I tried another sync immediately. The process stayed on 'waiting to apply changes' for about 15 minutes, then completed. A few more songs were sync'd but it was still missing 1400+ songs.
The playlist with missing songs was still missing some tracks, but different ones this time. To test if the playlist was the problem I deleted all music from the iPhone again and sync'd just two playlists, including the problematic one. It sync'd all tracks on both playlists, so it doens't appear to be the playlist that is breaking the sync.
I will try one last attempt by restoring the phone as a new device then syncing all my playlists before reapplying the backup data. If that still doesn't work then there is clearly a problem with the sync process that previously worked fine on earlier versions of iOS / iTunes.

as meentioned 10000 times before ...
updating to new firmware depends on product code which represents your region of purchasing, language pack and if it's branded or not .... so NOKIA releases firmwares and release it for every product code depending on mentioned points
you can check for updates @ :
    http://mea.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update
To find what the latest available device software is, you’ll need your device’s product code. The code is printed on the white label beneath the battery (e.g. CODE: 0520001).
if your phone is branded with an operator, that means that you should go to the operator care center and ask them, not NOKIA
some updates delay in some countries variant product code, as it requires more effort to add language pack to it like and in some certain countries "example. China Japan Korea" or it needs the country to approve it due to its policy

  • N82: Nokia Software Update doesn't find the phone

Hello, I am trying to update the firmware of my Nokia N82, but I get an error message from Nokia Software Updater saying that it doesn't find the phone. I find that strange as Nokia PC Suite indeed finds the phone. The icon on the taskbar says that "AndersMobil is connected".
I've noticed that if I let Nokia PC Suite run at the same time as Nokia Software Updater, this icon shows that the phone is being connected and disconnected several times while Nokia Software Updater tries to find the phone, something that might indicate that the two programs cannot be run at the same time? I tried to run Nokia Software Update alone, but still the program doesn't find the phone.
In Windows Hardware Manager (or Units manager, not sure of the english translation) of Windows XP, "Nokia GSM Phone USB Modem" gives the following error message: "The unit is not working as it should as Windows cannot load the necessary drivers for this unit (Code 31)." Under "Portable Devices" in Hardware Manager/(or Units manager?) the error message "This unit cannot start. (Code 10)" appears for the unit "AndersMobil".
I followed the guidelines on the internet reinstalling Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater, removing and reinstalling the drivers, but Nokia Software Update still doesn't find the phone, and the same error messages appears in Hardware/Units manager every time.
    What do I do?
    Regards,
    Anders
By the way, I sent an e-mail to Nokia support about this but they still haven't answered although it's been a long time since.

  • Nokia 5800 Crashes

    I have a nokia 5800 FW 50.0.005
I recently got its FW updated manually by nokia center, worked fine. but It developed a problem, It started crashing randomly. Although the crashes appeared to be random at 1st, latter it seems whenever the area above the camera button & bellow the lock switch is pressed, the phone instantly dies.
Initially it seemed related to the FW upgrade, but i doubt thats the case. It seems more of a hardware related issue.
Any one faced this probelm? or any idea for solutions?
btw, ive already hard reseted, formatted memory and what not.

Take it back. There should be a 30 day warranty for the work.

  • Feature request for radio on Nokia 5800

I sent some suggestions regarding Radio directly to Nokia but I'd like to post this request there as well so I can see what users think about this.
Also I'd like to know how many radio stations are available in your city. I have access to 27 stations but Nokia 5800 can store only 20 stations.
The original feature request is posted below. I made 2 mistakes but developers should be able to understand anyway.
    1. The station list shouldn't display empty slots: there is no point in having gaps in the list and it makes the list longer even if some slots aren't used. The last slot should be displayed and named as "Add station"/"Empty" so user could add a new station at the end of list.
    2. Add some basic functionality for organizing stations: "Sort by name", "Sort by frequency", "Move up", "Move down". The last two should be buttons rather then menu items so it would be easier to move station around.
    3. Phone supports up to 20 stations and I have 27 stations in my city. It should be hard [note: I meant "should not be hard"] to increase this limit to 4294967296(2^32-1)[note: actually 4294967295]. It's not like we have to reserve space for these stations in advance and the list won't be filled with unused slots.
    4. It would be nice to see RDS on Home Screen.
    5. I have updated to V40.0.005 and RDS doesn't work anymore. Also Radio occasionally becomes frozen.
    See /t5/Software-Updates/Nokia-5800-updated-to-V40-0-005-Radio-RDS/m-p/607102

This is a user to user forum so it is unlikely that anyone from Apple will see your post.
Try using "Provide iTunes feedback" on the iTunes help menu.
You can drag radio stations into a regular playlist if you want to keep ones you like together.

Hi, i've just downloaded the new nokia software updater v.1.4.70en but while im trying to install it shows me an error saying :

But the problem is that if i go to the nokia software updater it does not find my phone! Im working on my windows xp sp2 laptop. I also tried on my windows vista laptop and it gave me the same errors! I have no firewalls or antiviruses to block anything! if somebody can help me i would be very gratfull!
I have an nokia E90 V.07.24.0.3 and i want to update it to the last firmware!
    Thank you, Olivier!

I have just encountered the same/similar problem and spent an age trying to find a solution both here and through Google with no success. The good news is that after a bit of trial & error I have managed to resolve the issue with a very simple workaround
When installing NSU, continue through the installation until presented with the error message.
Here, grab a pen and paper and note down the full path of the .DLL causing the problem.
Now continue to install (ignoring the error) by clicking on the right arrow.
Once insallation is complete, open the start menu and select 'Run'
Here you need to type "regsvr32" (without quotation marks) followed by a space then the full path of the file you have noted from the error message. (Note - the path should be in quotation marks). As an example, below is exactly what I typed to resolve my issue
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\ProductApiLoader\ta_productapiloader.dll"
Now open NSU and update your handset.
Good luck and remember to feed back your results on this thread for the benefit of others.
