Nokia 5800 windows live for mobile

Right I'm trying to install windows live for mobile, and according to HERE, my phone should be compatible.  I have followed all the steps on the support pages, but can not find "windows Live" in my "download" folder.
Any ideas???

Oops, sorry for the typo
Just checked Skype Mobile, too, but it's also not on the list. Yoy may still want to try and download Fring - you may have luck.
Otherwise, the only officially supported Skype client for 5800 is IM+ which is not free:

  • Nokia 5800 windows live messenger

many times i have tried 2 install windows live messenger in my nokia 5800 but it says expired certifiacte . where can i dwnload the messenger for free which works

I have a Nokia 5800, I got it in the first week that it was released in the UK. (Just in case it's a particular version.)
I have got the official Windows Live Messenger application, it installed without any problems whatsoever.
But, I have a really weird problem. This is what happens...
    I open the application.
It shows me the sign in screen.
I click the textbox and start to enter my email address... I get about half way through entering it then....
My phone instantly turns off and the screen fades away!
It isn't always the same place where I am editing text, but it's always in the sign in process.
I haven't a clue why this happens, it has never happened in any other application, but happens every time with Messenger?!?!
(Before anyone asks: Yes, my phone was charged.)

  • Nokia 5800 - No Support for TV out-mode?

I just recently realised that that is true for my set... That there is no support for TV out-mode... I've tried, audio comes out from my TV speakers but there is no visual. Is there anything at all that I can do to utilise this feature? I have after all been supplied with the wires and all...

    Dear Nokia Careline,
The "No Return Policy" already be used here. Seem that I have no choice to go for other alternatives. Maybe I have to file the case to our local authority i.e. Tribunal Court Claim to exercise my consumer right here.
Perhaps, further blogs at Nokia discussion column, facebook, twitter might help to let others understand more about so-called Nokia Careline entertain their loyal customer.
If you insist your stand there, then I am always ready to go for my alternatives.
I won't let go unless you could satisfy me.

    Dear Mr. X,
    We appreciate your prompt reply.
We will be noting for concern as a feedback. However, please be informed Mr. Tan that Nokia has noted in the box regarding the said case.
The outage experienced by our sub-supplier was quite unexpected. Typically, the lead time for components such as this one is fairly long, and one cannot react to sudden changes at short notice. We value our relationship with our suppliers and sub-suppliers, and know that our sub-supplier is doing everything in their power to remedy the situation and return to regular supply.
The lack of TV out should not affect any other device functionalities besides that you will not be able to show/transmit pictures or video to external monitor/screen.
As Nokia does not have a replacement policy, we suggest to check with your dealer if they have a policy regarding exchanges.
    Apologies for any inconvenience.

    Dear NOKIA CARELINE,
Yap, you can tell me leaflet included & a tiny label on the pack box. But who will really check every single area of the pack box & read the whole manual or leaflet when they decided to buy the phone. What normally customer will check is the handphone and the accessories. Now you are telling me that customer have to check everything even they  buy something from a reputable company like Nokia. If I going in a shop that sell a China like Nokia 5800 handphone and I bought it then I won't have a say here at all.
I have checked with my retailer they allow me to return the unit but I can't get full refund from them. They are going deduct a couple of hundred cause they said the unit is considered used unit now. According to them instead of asking customer to wait they prefer to refund the customer. So who is going to bear for the cost now.
I certainly frustrated by getting a unit that without TV out function. If you are telling me that once manufactured the feature could not be added in, then I would say if you do have a unit with TV-out feature now you could exchange directly to your customer. Why still ask your loyal customer like me to refer to dealer or retailer. Is that what you mean after sales service or NOKIA CARELINE. You don't even care in the first place.
Your apologies certainly couldn't be accepted with reason of Nokia did include leaflet to inform and tiny sticker at the bottom of the pack box. Sound irresponsible to me at all.
What I wanna your care now, that is pls exchange a unit with TV-out feature with mine in which without such feature. Do I really put the CARELINE into difficulty position. Your reply to me is highly appreciated and also to show that you care or don't care.

    Dear Mr. X,
Thank you for emailing Nokia Careline.
    Greetings!
In response to your inquiry, please be informed Mr. Tan that due to a component shortage, a limited number of Nokia 5800 Xpress Music has been manufactured without the TV-out functionality. It is possible that you have one of these devices. In that case, the sales package should have a sticker on the package and a leaflet inside the package that inform about the lack of TV-out functionality. Also, the TV-out cable has been removed from the affected sales packages.
Kindly take note Mr. Tan that it is not possible to add the feature after the device has been manufactured. Therefore we have labeled the affected sales packages with a sticker and included a leflet that inform about the lack of TV-out functionality. Those individuals who wish to have the TV-out functionality should wait for a sales package that that has it again.
The new batch of phones should have the feature back. As this matter is clearly stated in the sales package, it is not possible to return to Nokia. However, you may check with your dealer if they have a policy regarding the return of the unit in exchange for a version that has the TV-out feature. Those individuals who wish to have the TV-out functionality should wait for a sales package that that has it again.
    Apologies for any inconvenience.

I tried to check the manual & pack box then only noticed a small label on the pack box stated no TV out supported. The retailer informed me that they only aware about this when I complained to them. I checked the discussion blogs, some stated because of worldwide component shortage so such function being omitted. I can't accept such explanation because I feel like I was being cheated by Nokia. i just updated the mobile firmware and i downloaded ovi but after i download it ,when i press on download app. on the moblie it opens my browser and the website for ovi, so how can i open the download app. and downlad windows live messenger PLS help!!!

Same issue. E51 with latest firmware v400.34.011.
Trying to install Windows Live Messenger from Ovi store and can't. Got the link via SMS. The Ovi page states "Windows Live", but the link downloads "Nokia Internet Services Support Package 1." The package installs OK, but there's no Live Messenger installation or download following up. Tried several times. Tried "Report the issue" link from the same download page and got "Internal Server Error", several times.
I'm doing all this from the E51 phone browser. I can download and use other apps, e.g. Nimbuzz.
    Any comments would be appreciated.

  • Nokia 5800 Express and Adobe Mobile Packager

    Hi.
I wanted to use the mobile packager to get an app onto a Nokia 5800.
But I couldn't find the Nokia 5800 on the list of devices supported by the Abode Mobile Packager.
I created the app in Flash CS4...if I don't use the Mobile Packager how can I get the app onto the Nokia device?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can find a list of supported devices and countries here:
    http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Distributable_Player:Supported_Devices#S60_Devices
As of today we do not support the Nokia 5800 within the mobile packager, to package for this device you can use the Forum Nokia packager or SWFPack.com

  • My scool uses Windows Live for webmail (Outlook), and when I try to access it, it says I have to enable cookies; I already have, but it doesn't recognize it.

Everything worked fine until I was closing my webmail session, and Windows Live said I was not logged out - I had to delete cookies and close all other tabs. I did this, andWindows Live then said I had to enable cookies to log out. I checked my settings, and cookies are enabled (custom settings for history, "accept third party cookies" and "keep until"l are set). I even closed out of everything and did a restart, but no luck. It all works OK in IE still, so it's not the school website's problem. (But I don't want to use IE)
Everything was fine until I deleted cookies - I have always ignored the message about closing Windows Live before - I just didn't today...

  • Nokia 5800 locating antenna for signal boosters

I have just bought, for signal boosters, for my Nokia 5800. I am told to, "(1) Remove the battery from your phone, (2) Locate your antenna, (3) Stick the booster to your battery with the UP SIDE writing facing and as close to your antenna as possible, once the battery is replaced.". "For best results stick one on either side of your battery or even two each side for very poor reception areas.". I wanted to know, first of all, where is the antenna on the Nokia 5800, has anyone got a picture? I was also looking in using all four boosters, so how can I do it, as if the antenna is on one side of the phone, how can I stick two on the other side, to get the signal boosted?
I will really appreciate answers on this matter, as I am confused!
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    nungon94.

If you have the manual for the nokia 5800 page 19 shows you pictures of where the antenna is located, if you havent then the antenna is located at the bottom of the phone. I have just bought the signal boosters too, will see if they actually work now.

I and we have been waiting for the Windows Live Messenger to be released for Nokia 5800 and N97 for ages now. What is going on Nokia?  Not many of us like using 3rd party messengers  If any of you agree with me please do post and hopefully they will wake up.

    Ye!
**bleep** is it about you and N97???
We bought a phone we where hoping to be able to use.
And what happened? Ye right, NOTHING!
U don't support your own phone...
N97 is an expensive phone, that you don't get a **bleep** about!
How many of your N97 owners do you think will buy a Nokia next time???
Like ZERO? Because they don't want to pay expensive for nothing...

  • Windows LIVE on Nokia N80

    Hi,
Yesterday my Windows Live for Nokia S60 version 1.0.8161, stopped working. Also My MSN on windows 2000 Pro, stopped working, but after looking at :
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms07-054.mspx
and update to build 820 it worked again, but the WinLIVE on N80 still will not logon.
I must say that I used it on work via a bluecoat proxy appliance, and connecting via an open hotspot it does actually work.
I think the proxy might be inforcing some of MS updateplans, and that this might not be a Nokia problem. Maybe it looka at some version and allows the new ones only.
So can we expect a new version of the winLIVE for N80 ?

I'm looking for this too. I had downloaded it and installed it from the downloads utility on the phone. It is still here on the support page http://www.nokia.co.uk/get-support-and-software/download-software/windows-live/how-to-download  but when the catalog is updated there is no msn live. I lost mine when my phone was repaired.
Windows live now seem to give all the functionality through a web interface ( mobile.live.com ) but for some reason I cant log in. When ever i click in the password box i can type nothing in it. Also my existing live account is a live.co.uk address which isn't in the drop down list!
    any suggestions

     3. Wifi- Droping frequently connection .

    Thanks in advance.
    1. Same is the case. However, this is not a problem and digitally locked files are supposed to work this way. The solution would be to visit the nearest Nokia care center and have this unlocked, or wait hoping that Nokia would release OTA unlocking similar to N95
    2. Same case. I will try keeping it on download on WiFi for a few hours and see if there is any response.
    3. I haven't noticed any.
    2. I kept the phone for download on WiFi for a few hours and there was no positive progress. Guess we will have to wait for Nokia to give a solution.
    3. I would have used WiFi to browse for at least 3-4 hrs, and the connection was never dropped.
Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smooth...
