Nokia 5800XM Alarm Issues

Recently updated my software to V 0.0.005 and now I can't turn my alarm off! The touchscreen doesn't work (locked or unlocked) for snooze or stop and can only snooze using the permanent green button.
Any ideas? I use my phone as my alarm and its going to drive me nuts if I can't sort this.

Hello all,
Im solving little bit annoying alarm feature in my phone. Imagine that you have alarm set as DAILY at 6 in the morning. In the morning I snooze the alarm after first ringing by sliding the bar snooze. In alarm settings, there is a comment that alarm is "delayed to 6:10" (because of my 10minute setting).
The question is, how to remove this snoozed alarm without waiting to 6:10 ? If you choose deactivate alarm, then you have absolutely deactivated your daily alarm, after activating back it is still snoozed to 6:10. The only option is
a) wait until it starts ringing and choose STOP
b) delete snoozed alarm and set the new alarm with 6:00 and daily repeating
Does anyone know how to solve this problem??? How to quickly say to alarm: Cancel snoozing mode and turn back into normal settings ?

Your question is very valid and I can understand the issue. Even I'm facing the same issue with the latest phone of Nokia C7. The requirement is very simple and obvious.
Most of the people on this thread haven''t understood the problem correctly.
Even a simple alarm clocks and basic phones do have such a feature. The lack of facility to come out of snooze loop anytime shows the stupidity of the application engineers of Nokia/Symbian.

Solution
There's no auto answer for the device itself unless u plugged in
related accessories. Try this ..
1. Menu -> Settings
-> Calling -> Call -> Anykey Answer -> set to OFF
2.
Menu -> Settings -> Phone -> Accessories -> Scroll all 6
category there and set all Automatic Answer to OFF
Important note: It shud
be in Headset, Wireless Car Kit and Music Stand.
Do a test
call from outside and see if the problem persists. Problem solved !

I have appeared to have fixed the issue.
I noticed the Nokia Connectivity Cable Drivers had a Repair Function, i ran this process and reconnected my device.
All drivers were then found and installed correctly.

WIFI proxy on nokia 5800XM

hi to all, i m currently using nokia 5800XM.in my college we use internet through WIFI but it have some proxy setting like proxy ip,port and username and password in nokia 5800xm we can do setting in destination but this setting is applied to browser only but it was not able to use ovi store and some other apps on wifi means it will not ask for username and password which is asked in browser ..... SO ANY ONE HAVE PROXY BY PASSER FOR MY HANDSET? PLZZZZZ HELP ME.

Ovi Store does not use the http proxy settings of access point. The web browser can "see" those proxy settings successfully, and it asks for login/password every time I run it. But the Ovi Store application does not recognise the proxy settings of access point. I tried to login to proxy using the web browser and then run Ovi Store at the same time, hoping that Ovi Store will be able to connect to Internet after that. NO SUCCESS.
This is a serious issue. I must not be forced to use the expensive mobile connection in order to use Ovi Store application (which obviously uses http protocol). Waiting impatiently for this issue to be fixed.
P.S. Considering another platform at this moment.

Most of time I'm using my Nokia 5800xm (about 12hours per day). I mean I'm living with my phone.
so i wanna know any risk of using? will my usage harm to my phone. but I'm using it very carefully.

Nokia 5800XM v 52.0.007 Updated but ....! HELP

i have updated my nokia 5800XM to v52.0.007 but i have a problem. i have many applications installed on the previous version. they still work on this firmware version but how do i remove or update them because most of them are not showing in the application manager, as like before in the previous version.

I'm afraid you're dealing with memory card corruption... If you can't access the App Manager under Settings, after you start the phone without the memory card, then the issue is more serious and quite likelly you'll have to hard reset the phone.... if possible save and backup messages, contacts, notes and bookmarks to your PC using Ovi Suite...
Also you should save everything you can and know on your memory card (photos, music, videos, etc) and format it... You should lose the maps previously installed and have to install them again.
Most often this type of corruption occurs with Widget Installer application that, on phone start-up, scans the contents of phone and card memory for install files for widgets... also themes on memory card don't do anything good to avoid corruption of it.
You can try PC suite to manually remove applications that might be causing issues, but my experience with it tells me that it will fail to adquire app list when phone is misbehaving like that....
Memory card corruption happenned me about two or three times, I formatted the card and everything worked after that... The biggest pain for me was to download the maps again.... nokia needs a offline installer of the maps.... downloading 3Gb at 40Kb/s everytime memory card gets corrupted it's not good...
5800xm on a blender ... will happen sooner than expected.... v51 is a failure as an update .... v52 just postponed its fate....

Im having a nokia 5800XM with the latest firmware update and im having a problem regarding the radio tuner, that is most of the time the radio player gets freezed and cannot switch to another preset frequency or exit the application, inorder to do so is to turn the phone off and restart it. I saw this advertisement and also some of my friends in Malaysia using high performance battery on their Nokia 5800XM phone. Whereby the standard power output allowed to the device is 3.7volts @ 1320mAH. However, these users bought higher performance battery (linked example below). My question is:
1. Does this allowed by Nokia to be used by end-users on the device?
2. Any side effects technically on long term use?

Using this battery in and of itself will not have any impact on your warranty.
However, if the phone is damaged through use of this battery (eg. electrolyte leakage or explosion!) then it will not be covered by the warranty.
I actually have one of these batteries and I'm pleased with it. Please do note, however, that the camera window is poorly designed making flash photography impossible. There is no insulation between the flash and the lens meaning that light from the flash floods any photo taken using it. It has no discernable impact on daylight photography, though.

Nokia 5800XM - Live Mail Not Working in Nokia Mess...

It has been a long time since I have been using the Nokia Messaging Email to receive emails from my different email accounts includinga couple of Windows Live Mail accounts to my Nokia 5800XM and it was working like a charm till a couple of weeks age.
Since last couple of weeks I am not receiving email from my Windows Live Mail accounts, other account POP/IMAP are working fine but Windows Live Mail account are not working at all, none of them. I haven't changed any password or something, I don't know what is wrong but I am unable to receive email from WLM, even if I open mail app and manually do a Send/ Receive, it doesn't update my emails from my WLM accounts. I have even tried resetting the data from Nokia Messaging Email settings but for no avail.
Can someone help or update me in this regard, what's going on, is it just me or . ...

Although Internet works, Nokia Mail uses another configuration account. Therefore, please, double-check Nokia » Menu » Configuration » Active. Which network operator do you use, in which country?

i used to b a ericsson fan but recently bought this phone n love it, i used to play music from my sony ericsson thru my xbox 360, but i am unable to do so with my nokia 5800xm via usb cable (even after selecting all the usb option available)...can any of u guys do the same????

Browser closes itself - NOKIA 5800XM

I want to share the problem with my NOKIA 5800XM and it is that while browsing the pages that have many meanings in this picture is a page with only pictures / galleries / funny and entertaining anybrowser closes itself.
I got the settings here but there remains a problem, someone has idya what can solve this horrible problem.
I tried with several browser as Opera .... But there is a similar problem, and makes me think that the phone can not work with pages that have many pictures.

Yes this is really stupid, I hope our colleagues from NOKIA to pay attention to this general bug as soon as possible.
I tested a few phone in 5800 the same page and it really has a problem there.
I did notice however that when run from java settings error report and then load the same page, enter some mistakes a miracle ....
therefore I think there is a problem of their browser-JAVA

Have you tried to repair "Nokia connectivity cable driver" (right click) under Uninstall or change a program?
You also should use Ovi suite.
