NOKIA 5800XM AUTOLOCK PROBLEM

Hi , I have enabled the autolock feature on my 5800. When my phone is lying idle for sometime and during that period if I recieve an sms , and after that to view it, if I try to unlock my phone by pushing the slide unlock key, my Touchscreen does not respond. If I try to press the numeric keypad to enter the unlock code, there is no response on the touchscreen. To be able to use my phone again, I have to remove the battery and restart my phone again. This has been hapenning since the past few days and I have no idea why it is occuring. Please help me out.

Nokia 5800XM general problems, corruption?

I've been very pleased with my Nokia 5800 though today I ran into a very weird problem.
In the main screen you have the keypad and the contact list buttons, suddenly neither wouldn't work at all. You can push them but nothing just happened. I didin't change anything in the phone before the problem and it just suddenly started doing that.
Rebooting and removing battery for a while did nothing, resetting default settings fixed it for a minute or two. I did a hard reset to the phone and then uploaded my backups to the phone again now it's working though It's very unstable, if I try to browse websites they wont load (indicator stays at 0kb all the time) I'm currently reflashing the firmware again to get a clean everything to defaults.
I hope Nokia will still continue to support this product and upgrade the firmware because there seems to still be much quirks and freezes in the gui.
And does anyone else have problems syncing the music library with any other program than nokia music? If I try to sync with winamp (tags are ok, bought tracks from webstore) some of the songs sync okay and they show in the right album but some of the songs from the same album are "unknown" and the ID3 tags are okay it just does that at random! Seems like there is a bug in the way 5800 handles tags? Should be fixed asap if that is the case, due being music phone mainly. Manually copying and updating library seems to work too.
Same tracks sync nicely with nokia music (though the gui is really slow and it cant convert FLAC) windows mediaplayer seems to do fine too.

Well I have this phone for over 2 years now and now I have a big problem with it that won't go away. The screen goes completely into stripes and is unreadable. It just showed up like that and it's always when I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) that this happens and then stays. Once I got rid of it by rebooting the phone almost 10 times or turning it of a whole day but as soon as I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) it comes back.

Although you would have to backup essential data first, you would first need to exclude any possible software related issues by either carrying out a "hard reset" and/or re-installing existing device soiftware via Nokia Suite.

Nokia 5800XM internet problem.

Hey guys,
Iv had my phone for about 9-10months now and havent had any problems with it. Recently my landline provider has changed to bt. But when first tried to access the internet through my phone it asked for a WPA key i entered it but it was incorrect and now i cant seem to put the correct one in. It says its trying to connect then it pops up with "Invaild WPA key" and then it closes the browser down. So really i need to find a way to reset the WPA key so i can enter the correct one.

Nokia 5800XM wlan problem

hello,
so, i had my nokia 5800 for a long time, and today i updated my software. it was 40.0, and now its 52.007 when i did it, wifi totaly disapeared... when i turn on setings->conectivity-> theres no W-LAN! i dont know what to do, i tried rewriting updates, turning off and on my device, but that dont work

Nokia 5800XM Iplayer problem

I updated my phone from v20 to 21, iplayer was working fine before the update, but now whenever i click on a program real player says "unable to play media clip"?
is there a fix for this? becasue i cant find anthing about it on the interweb (atleast not for the 5800)

hi, my nokia 5800XM got problems like, i can't view the pictures and video clips in the "images and videos" page, and it's same even i updated FW to v50, beside that, right after i updated the FW to v50, all my songs was unable to display on the songs list, but they do exist in the memory card...
anyone help pls~

try removing the battery and sim card for approx 5-10 minutes. reinsert sim and battery power it on, if that does not work you will have to take it to nokia care i am afraid. there is nothing else one can try.

i bought a nokia 5800xm with mc 8gb at augest-2009 and didnt have any problem with that, i installed some software and some themes ,for ex: i installed smart movie to view avi files and symtorrent application for downloading songs frm net its all worked and i installed some usefull application frm internet the all software are worked perfectly thats no problem at all but suddenly ( ex:smart movie software ) after opening and closing ,again if i open smart movie software its trying to open but it will not open the application just its will not open but it will try to open but it will not open no files will be played and same problem in symtorrents also ,and some other application also and after i unistall that application and off the mobile and restart and again i need to install that same software and its will work perfectly and if try to play 5 files /6 files and after seeing that avi song or movie its will get same problem again and in symtorrent i will get some files download and if got this problem its will also not working if uninstall its will take all download files frm my mc so all downloading are waste of time so what the solutions any know are anybody to help my friends( finaly i need to open that application again with out reinstallation )thank u - white elephant my software version : v.5.00

I would contact Smart Movie to see if its a known bug first . Then you can back up format and do a hard reset .

Nokia 5800xm - Problem while taking backup on PC ...

While taking backup of my Nokia 5800xm on PC at the end it displays :The backup was finished but errors occured when backing up the phone contents. For more information see the backup report. The report suggested to try again after restarting the phone but no difference.. At the end it says Contacts, Calender and Messages can not be backed up as not enough memory...

Tried the backup thru' OVI Suit there is no such error message. Then again with Nokia Suit it shows error. Now this is confusing. I am having doubt whether it will be OK if I need a restore from the one thru' OVI Suit and all my data including Contacts, Calender entries, Messages will be restored totally..

I've got a problem playing videos in YouTube with my 5800. Recently I updated my version of Flash Lite to 3.1, from that day I can't see correctly videos on YouTube, when the the indicator of the bar reaches 1/4 of the totallity of the bar, the sound and image stop, but the indicator continues playing. If i want to see completly a video I have to put the indicator in the start of the bar and wait the load again. Some idea to fix this problem?

Tengo un problema reproduciendo vídeos en YouTube con mi 5800. Hace poco actualicé la versión del Flash Lite a la 3.1 y desde entonces no puedo ver correctamente vídeos de YouTube, cuando el indicador de la barra alcanza 1/4 de la distancia total, se detienen el sonido y la imagen, pero el indicador continúa como si siguiera reproduciendo, es decir para el vídeo es como si siguiera reproduciendo pero ni el sonido ni la imagen continúan., para ver los vídeos tengo que llevar el cursor de carga al principio y esperar la carga de nuevo, es un problema realmente molesto. ¿Alguna idea para solucionarlo?

I have Nokia 5800XM as well. The YouTube videos are playng fine for me. my FW is 40.0.005 with FL3.1
Maybe you need to update your device's firmware and FL version.\
Start Device Manager application on your 5800XM from menu or dialing *#0000#. It will check for new updates and ask you to download them. Remember that these updates are in MBs. I'd recommend update using a WiFi connection or flat-rate data plan.

Browser closes itself - NOKIA 5800XM

Hello!
I want to share the problem with my NOKIA 5800XM and it is that while browsing the pages that have many meanings in this picture is a page with only pictures / galleries / funny and entertaining anybrowser closes itself.
I got the settings here but there remains a problem, someone has idya what can solve this horrible problem.
I tried with several browser as Opera .... But there is a similar problem, and makes me think that the phone can not work with pages that have many pictures.

Yes this is really stupid, I hope our colleagues from NOKIA to pay attention to this general bug as soon as possible.
I tested a few phone in 5800 the same page and it really has a problem there.
I did notice however that when run from java settings error report and then load the same page, enter some mistakes a miracle ....
therefore I think there is a problem of their browser-JAVA

Just got my phone back after a Firmware reset. Now it can't connect to internet or ovi store. It keeps coming up with Invalid Server Name. Can anyone help

Nokia 5800 Sound problems in music player

Having a weird problem with the music player. When you choose a song to play, there is no sound unless you press either volume button, then the sound works normally. I have tried this in all different profiles, with and without headphones and nothing seems to work. Any ideas how I can get the sound back in the music player?

I don't know the exact solution to the problem but you may try to do a reset option. Sometimes with my N82 the sound just stops but the music is going. So i pause and play it again.
Try this reset but-
Before perfoming this please take a backup of your data.
Factory defaults-
Type *#7780# on your standby screen.
This will reset all your setting to default factory settings. User data wont be affected.
Soft reset-
Type *#7370#
This will reset the phone as well delete user data. Use when want to format the phone.
If none of these worked then you might want to do a hard reset.
For this you have to-
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.( Just in case of N78 it will be the multimedia key the small silver key on right side & for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. For Nokia N97 is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE. )
3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button to switch on the phone.
4. Release the buttons when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.

Vlingo Plus for Nokia 5800xm

I installed Vlingo Plus from OVI Store on my Nokia 5800xm.. When I say call xyz.. It starts dialing to xyz.. but immediately (fraction of a second) 'Call Disconnected' is shown and 'No answer' message is displayed on the screen.. This happens while I try ANY number from my contacts..
Contacted the Vlingo support and was told to remove the battery for a few minutes insert and re-boot.. but the problem is still there.. Have given my feedback to Vlingo but in the mean time.. can someone suggest the solution ??

P.S. No problem with calls made thru' normal dialling..
