Hi , am really having a bad time after being a nokia customer all my life, now since n70, that was very great, came to n81, good but bad camera, but it was fast, no bugs, n95 8gb, bugs, starting with wgz, apps which go empty when u hold menu button and take up alot of ram, now am using 5800 , utterly depressed. Alot of bugs, i'll mention all of them today and also what it lacks, 1. On all nokia phones, the im app has never worked, remove it in the next firmware update,2.the pulsating touch on 5800 level 1 is higher than level 2. 3. Add some type writting sound on the kb,4. Video playback reallh sucks!!! N it has a large screen, what for?5. Music player, that one whch is from n97, when launched, on all songs, scrolling then stopping takes you to the top again, the head set controls fail atimes, you cant fast forward a song. 6. When yiu turn on the phone on landscape, the full screen kboard disapears and the rotation is disabled completely.7. The browser has alotof bugs going in and out of full screen mode.8. And why dont we have good games? Ngage? Ngage 1. Was better than ngage2, and now you give us java games, utterly slow, i know that processor can run much better games, ngage 1 was 220mhz. Tha memory full error when i am jist running one app isnt amusing at all, and the camera, make the image mode same as video mode.... Do somethingm i feel like selling my phone right now, but i have faith u will listen to me, n hey, resistive touch screen can now do multitiouch, we need it. 10. The radio, when you rename a station, it takes forever to update on the flowing text, and also, how can n95 save 50 stations and 5800 20, what is xpress music? scanning for stations sometimes wraps around 1 station, i am sammy gimnyigei, using 5800xm, fw 50.0.5 i think, from kenya, please answer my plea and where can i give my suggestions on the new firmware, or just employ me on the firmware desk to tell you what everybody needs like new home screen, java needs a new interface, full screen with semi transparent keyboard, also ngage, i have tried contacting nokia for 3hours and i get an error on that page, the send button doesnt work. Please help me to forward this message to nokia people. Im tired and angry!!!

after buying a phone there is no customer care? I'll now migrate to iphone or x10. Nokia is a rip off!

Uninstall Ovi and re-download from Nokia web. Reinstalled Ovi Suite but that didn't work.
I then uninstalled all Ovi and all Nokia related software, cleaned Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite: Failed to fix.
Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize.

Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize with Nokia PC Suite.
Made a complete backup on my phone.
Installed Nokia Software Updater and I reinstall the latest FW 51.0.006 to my phone.
Then I organized my content for a few minutes.
Shut down Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.
Started up Nokia Ovi Suite.
Connected my phone and clicked on PC-Suite on the options.
It now works again????
Something happened when I installed PC Suite that enabled me to use my Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite again.

Nokia OVI Suite and Nokia Care Support

Today I called Nokia Support, because I could not download maps with map loader.
The guy asked if the ovi suite is installed. I told him, that the Ovi suite keeps on crashing on start-up on my machine, and that all other software is running fine, e.g. the PC suite which I am using instead.
For a price of 14 Cent/Minutes this "Nokia-Care"-guy had the nuts telling me that probably my computer needs to be fixed. After telling him that my computer works fine with all other software, he finally told me that I need to call Microsoft, as it would be their fault that Ovi Suite is not running on my machine.
This is a poor joke called "Nokia-Care". Dear Nokia-people, that is no-support and no-care-at-all. Providing something that crashes for free, and charging money for providing rudeness on the phone.

Nokia BH-902 and Nokia N95 Compatible Issue

Hi, I have just bought the new Nokia BH-902 OLED headset and manage to pair and use as voice call. However,it keep synchronizing the Recent Calls and nothing appear. Tested on Nokia 6120 Classic and same thing, synchronize and no effect. I guess must be the Phonebook Address Profile not compatible in N95 and 6120 Classic. Will there be a new firmware update in N95 to resolve the issue?
My main purpose is to see who call, missed call, recent dial and dialed number. I had pay quite alot for this headset and end up only can see "Incoming Calls" and also no Recent Calls log. Please help. Thanks!

is the BH-902 listed in the compatiblity list for head phone for N95? If it is, then you can demand a replacement! There really lots of issues regarding blue tooth devices. Bluetooth profiles differs from one manufacturer to the other, & even with the same manufacturers its an evolving & improving technology!

yeas,there a couple of minor differences between the 808 and 701 with the same os version.t hese are becuase the fp1 is specially built for the 808 while the devices like 7011 are g=not getting it out of the box rather they getting as an update.there are differences between updated os and built in os.those handsets,which get an os built in,have some features which are especially and exclusively made for them like the ones you've described whereas if some other device gets it too,it gets it as an addition;not a basic element.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Full Screen mode with all toolbars hidden.
* Press F11 to toggle full screen mode (Firefox/File > Full Screen)
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Windows)
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

Nokia E7 bugs and improvements

Bug: When listening to Internet Radio using Nokia default app over BlueTooth and a call comes in station stops so you can make the call but after call is ended station does not resume like the music player does. Why not?
Improvement: Why not make use of FWD and REV buttons on the BT headset to go back and forth between stations in your Favorites just like you would do with the music app and songs. Same goes for Play and Stop.

Hello - Nokia Engineers, why would I want a phone to second guess what I am typing on a FULL slide out keyboard?
Auto correct when using the sh!th touch screen keyboard or the numeric kweypad, but with the slide out keyboard?
What I type is what I want, not the phone to second guess me and ALWAYS guess the wrong flamin option.
Do you guess actually THINK about implimentation and how the customer will use the phone? Does this stuff ever get tested - or better still pushed through the paces of a "Customer Acceptance" test?

Nokia 5530 bugs and lacks

Have it for almost a week and faced some problems noticed till current moment.
Bugs.
1. Autocomplete doesn't work on S60 browser addressbar. You can only select first item from popup list.
2. Password fields won't let you enter non-latin symbols.
3. LED won't stop blinking even after incoming message was read. It will stop blinking after you unlock the phone once again.
Important lacks
1. XpressMusic player lacks of current queue feature. Be it not XpressMusic I would say nothing, but you can't view currently playing list and you can't add to current queue.
2. No kinetic scrolling in main menu. I have 50 icons in application menu and it's very problematic to scroll them as the display is sunk a bit. Even my small fingure miss the scrollbar at least 1/3 of attempts to scroll it.
3. S60 browser does not support IDNs. It's not so important at the moment, but Cyrillic TLD zone is expected to run in november this year.
Some noticed misses
1. No preentered local ccTLD in S60 browser autocomplete in localized firmware. Only com, net and org.If it's Russian language on the device then ru should be in list already, if it's German, then deshould be in list. Etc.
2. No preinstalled dictionaries in localised firmwares.

regs U didn't understand the irony from the 'low-cost' words. They sayed it will be a cheap phone. When Nokia anunced the phone they sayed it will be a cheap phone. They pull out from 5800 the: gps, 3g ,better camera and they put a smaller screen even from the package they removed the plastic case,the spare stylus and the plastic desk holder and Voila a cheap phone. If u compare it to 5800 and his package results an very expensive phone.And if u take a look is a phone with a lot of bugs. I DON'T WANT TO BE VERY CITICALLY BUT THIS TIME NOKIA REALY IRRITATED ME.

Nokia 5800XM Bug

There IS a question that's annoying me greatly: not so far ago I updated my cell to the firmware 20,0,012 and since that sometimes when I have incoming call the phone stops to respond, it deeply hangs and does nothing, three buttons light on and the screen blanks, the only thing I can do is to detach the battery. What's wrong????

I can confirm the envelope/txt issue. And there's definitely something funny with the battery indicator. Additionally, the touch screen doesn't seem to react as fast as I'd like it too. However, this was improved alot after having modified the touch speed settings. Still, though, space seems to be lagging.
It's also annoying that, while the phone's screen's locked, it doesn't light up when receiving a text. The only thing that happens is that it plays the text sound and/or vibrates and the notification light "flashes". Why doesn't the whole screen illuminate as is the case on every other phone I've owned?
I have no issues regarding discolouration while changing from portrait to landscape mode, though. And I can't say I have an issue with the bass while playing music.
I'd appreciate comments about the lack of screen illumination upon receiving a text message, though!

Nokia PC Suite and Nokia 909/1020

I'm a fan of using the PC Suite for messaging particularly. I just downloaded the new version in order to go with my new Nokia909/1020. First of all it tells me that I need to cancel the File transfer Mode in order to connect via USB. which I would like to be alble to do but the phone does not give me a menu that allows me to do this. I connect using the bluetooth and it tells me I'm connected in non-compatible mode of course. Help! I enjoyed using the PC Suite with the prior Nokia. The Settings menu does not give me "connectivity" as an option or " connections". Thank you.

Nokia 6230i questions and Nokia Warranty

My last Nokia mobile was the 6230 and I have just upgraded to the 6230i (though after reading through the threads last night, I think it may have been a downgrade?). I have a few questions which I hope I can get the answers to in this forum?
Q1: Ok, last night, after reading through many, many posts about the 6230i, I read in one particular post that the Nokia warranty is now two (2) years, can anyone please confirm this and also when this took effect?
(Also is there anywhere that I can view the basic details of the warranty)
Q2: With regard to the warranty, if two years is correct, does that mean that our Nokia mobiles will be repaired FREE for parts and labour over the two year period?
Q3: Is the warranty work required to be carried out at a Nokia Service Centre?
Q4: My 6230i firmware is v3.40, what is the latest firmware version for this mobile? I read in one thread last night that it was v3.62?
Q5: During the warranty period, are we allowed FREE firmware software updates to our mobiles and are they carried out at the Nokia Serice Centres?
Q6: After inserting a particular *# xxxxx # code, to see warranty details, I noticed an entry called "Life Timer" what do the numbers in that section mean? (I think my 6230i had 0000.1.05) I have used the phone.
I'd appreciate all help given.

I just got a new LCD screen in my 6230i and the guy in the nokia service center said all nokia's have a 18 mth warranty from april 2005. obviously he doesn't know about the 24 mth warranty....!Message Edited by bjproc on 06-Jan-2006

.Mac and iPhone Contact Error

Hello all,
I have a .mac account, three macs, and an iPhone. I have successful sync'd my iphone with my work computer (PeeCee) and outlook. So have been able to migrate my work contacts to one of my macs. Since my contacts list has changed dramatically, syncing them with my other macs will not work. I select replace, and I am contantly getting ".Mac Sync Error: An inconsistency detected on .Mac for your contacts data preventing your sync from completing! You should consider resetting .Mac from a computer with good data." Then I have reset the data from the 'good' computer, but it doesnt help at all. Same issue on all the other computers.

I know this seems a bit harsh, but as I'm sure you've experienced, nothing else worked. Go into your User Library Folder -> Application Support and Delete the SyncServices Folder. I don't know if it messes up anything else, but it fixed this issue for me.

The 5530 Pink & White is basically the illuvia version, not much difference and you probably can buy a casing from ebay...
I don't know when 5530 Illuvia will be released no the 2220
