Nokia 5800xm - Problem while taking backup on PC ...

While taking backup of my Nokia 5800xm on PC at the end it displays :The backup was finished but errors occured when backing up the phone contents. For more information see the backup report. The report suggested to try again after restarting the phone but no difference.. At the end it says Contacts, Calender and Messages can not be backed up as not enough memory...
Pl. help

Tried the backup thru' OVI Suit there is no such error message. Then again with Nokia Suit it shows error. Now this is confusing. I am having doubt whether it will be OK if I need a restore from the one thru' OVI Suit and all my data including Contacts, Calender entries, Messages will be restored totally..

I think it is trying to overwrite exiting file. Either give a different name or cleanup the files in preferred location.

Problem While Taking out Printout Through ME9F

I am facing problem while taking out printout of purchase orderthrough ME9F.
as if i have to take out the printout of any po i have change the printer to LP02 in messages in me22n.
In messages i hav output type NEUand in that Logical destination is set to LP01.
Now can any body tell me how can I Set that output type for printer LP02 So that whenever the New Po is created i Don't have to change it's Logical destination type.

THen go to MN05 for setting...
Steps:
Maintain the o/p type...
click on the key combination...
Can maintain at any of them as per your requirement...
in the next screen,Then change for single vendor or for range of vendors....enter the necessary data...
Then in the next window, maintain the vendor, function and partner if any, medium etc...and save it...
Now from next time it'll give you the this maintained o/p type...

I understand that you are not able to make the recovery media.
Are you using recovery media creation?
Here is a link to walk you through the steps to create the recovery media.
The flash drive that you are using needs to be empty and may need to be reformatted before you can make the recovery media.
Let me know how everything goes.

Nokia 5800xm problem

dear friends,
i bought a nokia 5800xm with mc 8gb at augest-2009 and didnt have any problem with that, i installed some software and some themes ,for ex: i installed smart movie to view avi files and symtorrent application for downloading songs frm net its all worked and i installed some usefull application frm internet the all software are worked perfectly thats no problem at all but suddenly ( ex:smart movie software ) after opening and closing ,again if i open smart movie software its trying to open but it will not open the application just its will not open but it will try to open but it will not open no files will be played and same problem in symtorrents also ,and some other application also and after i unistall that application and off the mobile and restart and again i need to install that same software and its will work perfectly and if try to play 5 files /6 files and after seeing that avi song or movie its will get same problem again and in symtorrent i will get some files download and if got this problem its will also not working if uninstall its will take all download files frm my mc so all downloading are waste of time so what the solutions any know are anybody to help my friends( finaly i need to open that application again with out reinstallation )thank u - white elephant my software version : v.5.00

I would contact Smart Movie to see if its a known bug first . Then you can back up format and do a hard reset .

hi, my nokia 5800XM got problems like, i can't view the pictures and video clips in the "images and videos" page, and it's same even i updated FW to v50, beside that, right after i updated the FW to v50, all my songs was unable to display on the songs list, but they do exist in the memory card...
anyone help pls~

try removing the battery and sim card for approx 5-10 minutes. reinsert sim and battery power it on, if that does not work you will have to take it to nokia care i am afraid. there is nothing else one can try.

Nokia X6 problem while talking

I purchased Nokia X6 and using it for past couple of weeks.
The basic usage of the phone is to make and receive calls but my problem lies with the basic feature of the phone -- i.e. with talking while calling.
When I make a call or receive a call, I can hear what other person is talking very clearly but no one is able to hear me.
When I try to talk on top of my voice, I get to hear from the person on the other side that they cant hear me and the voice is not at all clear or it is highly distorted. They just can't understand what I am talking.
Whereas if I use a bluetooth device to make and receive calls, it just works fine.
Hence I have to every time carry my bluetooth device with me in order to use the phone for talking.
It is very frustrating to encounter such a basic feature problem from Nokia. Is there any fix to this? I can't carry a bluetooth device everytime to use the Nokia X6 phone.

It sounds like you have a faulty microphone module in the phone itself. I would take the phone to a Nokia Care Centre to get the handset fully checked out. Or try taking the phone back to the shop you bought it from to see if they will exchange it since you've had the phone only for a couple of weeks.

Nokia 5800xm, very bad battery backup

hi all,
i have just bought Nokia 5800 XM, a week back. I am facing a very bad experience with this new phone since its giving a poor battery backup. The battery is not lasting even a day. I charge it fully in night and it starts getting down next day evening.
I am not using any application, neither any surfing. My talktime in a day is around 3 hrs max and listen to music max 1 hr.
Please suggest any workarounds, is this a generic problem all people are facing with this handset.
Should i contact nokia for replacing it?

First, make sure you don't have any open applications in the background. Turn off bluetooth, Wi-Fi. Reduce the screen brightness to the minimum required for legibility. Reduce the level of haptic feedback. Make sure there is a good network coverage. Update the firmware to the latest version...
If these are done, then take a look at the battery: use the phone until the battery goes dead, or until you see the Battery Low message a couple of times. Then, charge the batter to 100%, uninterrupted. Now, repeat it 2-3 times. After that, use the phone like you normally do. Charge it as and when you want.
If you are comparing the performance with what is there in the spec-sheet, please be informed that what you see in the specs are the ideal values - under "standard test conditions". In practical life, you should expect considerable differences. 3 hours of calls and 1 hour of music does mean a good deal of strain on the battery. If the music is thru loudspeakers, it adds to it.

Getting error 0x8100002f while taking backup of windows 7 on external drive.

I have tried to back up windows 7 back up on external drive. After completing 90% back up i got error 0x8100002f. When i view the details of skipped files there are some files skipped from document, user data as these file are corrupted. I have tried
to cut paste these files on same external drive as these files are important. But still i am getting same message with details as these files are existed on target location. I want to retain these files and complete the back up. Please guide how i can repair
these files. These files are working normally but while back up it is showing as corrupted.

Before moving on, I want to confirm whether you can see these
files in the external drive?
If we can, please try to open it? Could they be opened?
If it is corrupted, please delete the files and recopy them to the target location.
And if it is not the case, does the computer has an NVIDIA USB Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) chipset, and has at least 4 GB of RAM?
If yes, please refer to the scenario 3 in the following kb.

today i make two backups of my phone ( nokia XpressMusic 5730 Symbiyan 60 3rd) and then i restore all original phone settings using *#7370#
after that i tried to recover the back up from the pc
but after it finished restoring the backup and the mobile restarted nothing is back !

I think error is in the dd program and named pipe used by it.

Just try to save a test file to a scratch tape by using command
dd bs=32K conv=sync if=D:\<some_test_file>

if it get executed then again try to archive logs,   Otherwise i would suggest to restart the server and try again.

While taking backup...............

For example one tablespace is there called TAB01.
The table abc1 has been linked to TAB01.
Now i am taking hot backup.
alter tablespace TAB01 begin beckup.
In mean time i have inserted one row in table abc1 and i issued commit.
What will happend.
I have been asked this question in interview.
I said it will write in rollback segments. But i could'nt give proper explanation.
Please give me the answer.

ganesh,
once you put the tablespace in hot backup a check point is done for that tablespace on all the datafiles in the tablespace. so even if you insert the rows and commit. the data is not entered in the datafiles until after the tablespace is brought out of the hot backup mode. this commit info is stored in the redo and db buffer cache and it will flushed into the datafiles during the next checkpoint.
the checkpoint on every datafile should match with that checkpoint number stored int he controlfile, if there is mismatch thats when oracle flags an error saying the tablespace needs recovery when you try to bring the database back up.

well i have a strange requirement and thus i want that you people, specially gurus kindly suggest an optimum solution. i will be thankful...
I have a Form which gives the summary of the current record state of the Database
For. e.g i have display items. that shows count of ..
Total number of teachers in shool, total male , total female,
teacher resigns, teachers hired, teachers on holiday etc..
The Form serves as a Summary Sheet for the higher management.
Now the thing is that higher management wants me to take the backup of this report.
so that if they want they can compare it . with the yesterday or with any date , the status ... summar.
i am taking logs for each table, but they dont want that it is better if we can take logs of the summary report..
I think we cannot user oracle workhistory for this purpose.. because then i would be needing to store the report in a table.. wastage n burden on database.. isnt it ..
IS it possible that i can take that report summary as export in excel file or any other file... through forms.. l, so that they can or i can store the daily stats..
which can be shown on request..
what to do i do not understand.. probably..
i mean obviously if i were to take backup of each and every thing .. it required huge burden and space..
obviously i cannot take export of DB as logical backup and import because then the current state of DB would be effected..
what to do kindly suggest some good solution , with the help of ur experience..

You can use OLE for storing the records in excel file. Searching this forum on OLE will give you more details on how to achieve this and may be some samples too.
