Nokia 5800xm Server Profile Settings?

I am going to check any updates because the Nokia 5800xm that I purchased last month at Nokia Store is only version 20. I want version 40 or 50 for kinetic scrolling but when I "checking for updates", it always asking for Server Profile and I don't know what is the settings. I am only using Edge Connection because my phone supports only 850/1900mHz, the available frequency here in the Philippines is only 2100. Please help me thanks!

Hi there....
you can actually get the server profile to enable your phone to perform Over the Air Software Update by calling your Network Operator/Service Provider.
Till Here...

  • Info about "Server profile" in Device manager

I want to update my firmware via over the air to my mobile directly.
    I am using a N73 and N82.
In device manager of N73, there is a default profile named Nokia.
I can check for updates with it from my mobile directly.
But N82 needs to define a server profile. Need ifro for that.
    Please help
    thanks

T-Mobile  did the same on their custom firmware for N97  and now I find the same on N8
no server  profile   in the end on my N97 i got so fed up i  changed the product code and got rid off all the T-Mobile nonsense blote-wear and it got me the Server profile.
I Don't want to hack product code on my N8    in Nokia's online FAQ's is says how to set the server profile but it doesn't seem to work for N8.
I wish Nokia would stop allowing networks to have custom versions. (let them brand by a theme only)
Anyone know the Server Profile settings  for N8   ?

  • Which Server profile in Device update for PR 1.1?

Okay, according to the Nokia website the PR 1.1 update is available for the product code of my Nokia N8 (unlocked, grey, The Netherlands, bought from Nokia). I have no PC so I have to update OTA. However.... In Device updates it keeps on saying 'No updates available'. I find that strange, so I was wondering if there is something wrong with my Server profiles.
I check Server profiles and see 't-mobile' (my carrier) and 'Not configured'. I click 'Start configuration'... and I get 'connection error'.
I'm at a loss. Do I need to configure the server profile 't-mobile', even though I bought my phone unlocked? Or do I need to make a new server profile, and in that case: which?

  • Recreating Default Server profile for Device Updat...

    Hello,
For whatever reason, after hard reset, my 5800 did not have the server profile to check for Device updates.  I am eagerly waiting for ver 4 like a lot of other people.  I read Device Update FAQ and it shows what appears to be proper Nokia Server Settings for 5800 USA model.  I entered it incorrectly and when I check for updates, it gives invalid host error.  I think I did not put in a . somewhere. Anyways, I am unable to modify or even view my profiles.  When I select server profiles from the options menu, it shows that I do not have any.  If I try to create the profile, it says that server ID is already in use.
How do I modify this setting that I can not see with out resetting phone?
    Thanks

  • S.O.S - Server profile editing (5800XM)

    Hi Folks !
Can someone please let me know how to delete a server profile I mistyped when trying to configure for OTA firmware updates ? I just pressed the BACK button when it was not finished properly and now when I go to SERVER PROFILES to edit or delete it, the screen says there is no profile but when going to SETTINGS it does appear !!! (the name is Nokia) how can I delete/edit this profile to do it right ? I want to delete it because when I try to start a new one it says that the server id "Nokia" is already in use and so I can not create another until the first one is replaced/deleted. PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEE !!!!
Thanks a lot in advance !
    Regards.

what version of OS X do you have on your server? 10.5.6 introduced some problems searching Tiger shares but you should be able to search leopard shares.

  • Configuring profile settings Nokia style

I was wondering if there is an app that allows you to configure your profile settings like Nokia has been offering for years now.
What I mean by profile settings is an app that I can use to configure my iPhone to for instance use different ring tones dependent on the selected profile, set whether or not it vibrates etc etc.
This link explains more clearly what it is I want my iPhone to do:
    http://www.knowyourmobile.com/nokia/nokian70/nokiann70userguides/264/configureyourprofile.html

    Just a "no"?
That's because no app would have access to the private API's necessary to do what you want. Only Apple could implement such, so if you want to see such capability, suggest it here:

Because the absent of this data indicates bigger issues, did you consider the Nokia Software Recovery Tool on a Windows computer already? If you are just about updating, did you consider the Nokia Suite already?

  • Lion Server Profile Management error reading settings

After starting up Lion Server the profile management pane showed an error. It is also not possible to login via de browser to the profile manager. How can I fix this? Using the default httpd.conf file did not help.
This is one of the many problems I have with Lion server that does not work as expected. So if someone has a solution to remove all profile settings from my client MBP than I can try to revert back to Lion on my server also.
I hope this question is also read by someone of apple as this is not the quality I expected from apple. It lacks decent documentation and the setup of Portable Home Users is not possible. I thought apple product were self explaining and intuitive. This reminds me of the old Windows days: sitting days to figure it out and use a lot of terminal commands.

Did you ever find a resolution? If not then this might help Server: An error with code -1 occurred while setting up Device Management

  • Server profile difficulties...

    Hi,
I have two 5800XMs. Both show no server profiles when I hit *#0000#. One, however, will download FOTA updates, the other does not. They both have a nokia server profile somewhere, one is correct the other is not. I have gone through the get advanced settings manual and everything works as designed concerning that. I have gone through the settings wizard and all works concerning that. I have done a reset on the phone (the one that does not delete user data).
Here is where my questions come in. There has to be a config file somewhere on this phone. Can I use ybrowser to make a copy and place it on the non working phone? Anyone know here it is located? OR... Is there a way to delete a server profile that the Device Update utility does not list as a server profile, but displays when you go to "settings" within that app?
    thanks

    Hi chunchen,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
If you encounter an error message like "Server not responding" during the update process, the likely reason for this is the update server being temporarily overloaded or there may be some other problem with your connection.
We would advise you to update your phone using Nokia Suite (go to Tools > Software Update). Alternatively you can visit your local Nokia Care Point and ask if they can help you with the update.
    Hope this helps,
    Puigchild

  • 5800 Xpress Music FOTA server profile, US Version

I just got my 5800 US version. Software version 20.2.014 RM-428. When I check over the air OTA updates, a message comes up "Create new server profile". Never had this on my previous Nokias (N73, N78). Just wondering if anybody has the settings. I already ran the settings manager and set up MMS, Wap and text messages just fine.

Just an update to the issue. I called Nokia support here in the US and as expected, the unfriendly 20 something on the line had never heard of the issue. He did "research" the issue while I was holding on the phone and came back to say that the settings should be available through my provider.
I am not sure , but should Nokia updates be available from Nokia. He said that the phones in Europe download these settings automatically from the provider. I did tell him that I am not looking for the internet settings (which indeed automatically come from the provider/sim card). Yet another useless call and a complete waste of my time.
Sorry for venting here, but maybe this saves somebody out there the hassle of wasting 20 minutes of their time.
In the meantime I will get my updates via the Software updater (should there ever be any)

  • NEW FW for Nokia 5800XM V51.0.006 (12/08/2010)

What are your experience from new FW?
    Is our phones look better?
    Have the last problems finished?
    Are any bugs again?
Anything new and improved from the last better FW from the previous???
    Don't forget:
Before put new update you have to make a hard format to your mobile and to your memory card!!!

First... i did not hard reseted ... not even soft reset it... however i can tell this:
Interface looks a bit more snappy...
RDS on radio seems to work.... BUT takes a lot of time (like 2~3mins - and don't touch the phone during that time) to catch station name (and before someone asks, i'm in a place where reception is quite good)... with version v21 was almost instantaneous (it took a bit of time but was like 10~20 seconds) ... also ... i managed to almost lockup/crash the phone with radio application... after around 1min it closed and went back to homescreen ... and i had to reboot the phone to make radio to work again ...
RDS seems to work .... but just sometimes
Another point on RDS is that bluetooth needs to be active for it to work.... i find it quite amusing *sarcasm* .... i don't know if this is really true.... but when it worked i had it on....
Radio is filled with bugs... i wonder if a hardreset will correct them, aside from what i've said, i also get the radio widget on homescreen even when radio was shutdown ...
The rotation of screen is now being detected correctly ... you now don't have to tilt the phone down to make it work... (the guy that changed calibration config for this on v50 should have been killed)
About free memory.... running Nokia's Energy Profile, after reboot,, it shows around 59Mb free of RAM ... a hard reset would be better to test this... :/ ... with old versions i got around 60Mb right after reboot so no huge improvement here
Camera quality is identical, no extra manual control over it either, it's not that bad as some people say, the 1/6" sensor does a great job for its size...
Please remember i did not hard reset (mainly because it is a pain to put everything there again), however some of the stuff doesn't require hard reset to be tested... i would love to hear about how radio is working from someone who had hard reset and waits a bit (5 mins?) with an RDS enabled station to see if it's working (also try with and without the bluetooth on, and with listed and non-listed station - listed has in saved)
    Hope this helps someone
5800xm on a blender ... will happen sooner than expected.... v51 is a failure as an update .... v52 just postponed its fate....

  • Nokia 5800XM - Live Mail Not Working in Nokia Mess...

    Hello There,
It has been a long time since I have been using the Nokia Messaging Email to receive emails from my different email accounts includinga couple of Windows Live Mail accounts to my Nokia 5800XM and it was working like a charm till a couple of weeks age.
Since last couple of weeks I am not receiving email from my Windows Live Mail accounts, other account POP/IMAP are working fine but Windows Live Mail account are not working at all, none of them. I haven't changed any password or something, I don't know what is wrong but I am unable to receive email from WLM, even if I open mail app and manually do a Send/ Receive, it doesn't update my emails from my WLM accounts. I have even tried resetting the data from Nokia Messaging Email settings but for no avail.
Can someone help or update me in this regard, what's going on, is it just me or . ...

Although Internet works, Nokia Mail uses another configuration account. Therefore, please, double-check Nokia » Menu » Configuration » Active. Which network operator do you use, in which country?
