also got a nokia 5800 XM and it seems mine is working fine and never got any problems yet nor aware of. im a bit expecting all of it. hehe
My problem is here, i heard this pencil application and was able to download it through a wifi connection and saved it on my memory card. whenever im about to signed it up at the symbian certificate signing or whatever and browse the application, im getting an error msg like ' file something continue but i cant even continue and i cant even select the application to be signed.
I have no idea what should i do next. ha
it was frustrating. pls anyone?

When I first got my Nokia 5800xm, the Outdoor message tone said "You've got a message on your Nokia mobile". It's been missing a whle now, I can't find it on the net. Can anyone please help?

Welcome to the Nokia forum!
When you update your device, some functions are removed and some are added to the device. If the tone you're looking for is no longer there, you most likely won't be able to get it back anymore.
You could, however, record a similair message yourself or record someone else's voice and set this as the message tone for your Outdoor profile.

Nokia 5800xm bugs and nokia contact error . To all...

Hi , am really having a bad time after being a nokia customer all my life, now since n70, that was very great, came to n81, good but bad camera, but it was fast, no bugs, n95 8gb, bugs, starting with wgz, apps which go empty when u hold menu button and take up alot of ram, now am using 5800 , utterly depressed. Alot of bugs, i'll mention all of them today and also what it lacks, 1. On all nokia phones, the im app has never worked, remove it in the next firmware update,2.the pulsating touch on 5800 level 1 is higher than level 2. 3. Add some type writting sound on the kb,4. Video playback reallh sucks!!! N it has a large screen, what for?5. Music player, that one whch is from n97, when launched, on all songs, scrolling then stopping takes you to the top again, the head set controls fail atimes, you cant fast forward a song. 6. When yiu turn on the phone on landscape, the full screen kboard disapears and the rotation is disabled completely.7. The browser has alotof bugs going in and out of full screen mode.8. And why dont we have good games? Ngage? Ngage 1. Was better than ngage2, and now you give us java games, utterly slow, i know that processor can run much better games, ngage 1 was 220mhz. Tha memory full error when i am jist running one app isnt amusing at all, and the camera, make the image mode same as video mode.... Do somethingm i feel like selling my phone right now, but i have faith u will listen to me, n hey, resistive touch screen can now do multitiouch, we need it. 10. The radio, when you rename a station, it takes forever to update on the flowing text, and also, how can n95 save 50 stations and 5800 20, what is xpress music? scanning for stations sometimes wraps around 1 station, i am sammy gimnyigei, using 5800xm, fw 50.0.5 i think, from kenya, please answer my plea and where can i give my suggestions on the new firmware, or just employ me on the firmware desk to tell you what everybody needs like new home screen, java needs a new interface, full screen with semi transparent keyboard, also ngage, i have tried contacting nokia for 3hours and i get an error on that page, the send button doesnt work. Please help me to forward this message to nokia people. Im tired and angry!!!

Nokia 5800XM - Live Mail Not Working in Nokia Mess...

It has been a long time since I have been using the Nokia Messaging Email to receive emails from my different email accounts includinga couple of Windows Live Mail accounts to my Nokia 5800XM and it was working like a charm till a couple of weeks age.
Since last couple of weeks I am not receiving email from my Windows Live Mail accounts, other account POP/IMAP are working fine but Windows Live Mail account are not working at all, none of them. I haven't changed any password or something, I don't know what is wrong but I am unable to receive email from WLM, even if I open mail app and manually do a Send/ Receive, it doesn't update my emails from my WLM accounts. I have even tried resetting the data from Nokia Messaging Email settings but for no avail.
Can someone help or update me in this regard, what's going on, is it just me or . ...

Although Internet works, Nokia Mail uses another configuration account. Therefore, please, double-check Nokia » Menu » Configuration » Active. Which network operator do you use, in which country?

Accessing my nokia 5800xm (xbox 360)

i used to b a ericsson fan but recently bought this phone n love it, i used to play music from my sony ericsson thru my xbox 360, but i am unable to do so with my nokia 5800xm via usb cable (even after selecting all the usb option available)...can any of u guys do the same????

Browser closes itself - NOKIA 5800XM

I want to share the problem with my NOKIA 5800XM and it is that while browsing the pages that have many meanings in this picture is a page with only pictures / galleries / funny and entertaining anybrowser closes itself.
I got the settings here but there remains a problem, someone has idya what can solve this horrible problem.
I tried with several browser as Opera .... But there is a similar problem, and makes me think that the phone can not work with pages that have many pictures.

Yes this is really stupid, I hope our colleagues from NOKIA to pay attention to this general bug as soon as possible.
I tested a few phone in 5800 the same page and it really has a problem there.
I did notice however that when run from java settings error report and then load the same page, enter some mistakes a miracle ....
therefore I think there is a problem of their browser-JAVA

WIFI proxy on nokia 5800XM

hi to all, i m currently using nokia 5800XM.in my college we use internet through WIFI but it have some proxy setting like proxy ip,port and username and password in nokia 5800xm we can do setting in destination but this setting is applied to browser only but it was not able to use ovi store and some other apps on wifi means it will not ask for username and password which is asked in browser ..... SO ANY ONE HAVE PROXY BY PASSER FOR MY HANDSET? PLZZZZZ HELP ME.

Ovi Store does not use the http proxy settings of access point. The web browser can "see" those proxy settings successfully, and it asks for login/password every time I run it. But the Ovi Store application does not recognise the proxy settings of access point. I tried to login to proxy using the web browser and then run Ovi Store at the same time, hoping that Ovi Store will be able to connect to Internet after that. NO SUCCESS.
This is a serious issue. I must not be forced to use the expensive mobile connection in order to use Ovi Store application (which obviously uses http protocol). Waiting impatiently for this issue to be fixed.
P.S. Considering another platform at this moment.

UNable to update my nokia 5800xm to v60

my nokia 5800xm is not getting updated ... when i reach to the install page through nokia pc suit its showing that connection with the data cable disconnected and then suddenly it gets connected.
is this the prob due to my antivirus ... plz help me out

Have you tried to repair "Nokia connectivity cable driver" (right click) under Uninstall or change a program?
You also should use Ovi suite.

Vlingo Plus for Nokia 5800xm

I installed Vlingo Plus from OVI Store on my Nokia 5800xm.. When I say call xyz.. It starts dialing to xyz.. but immediately (fraction of a second) 'Call Disconnected' is shown and 'No answer' message is displayed on the screen.. This happens while I try ANY number from my contacts..
Contacted the Vlingo support and was told to remove the battery for a few minutes insert and re-boot.. but the problem is still there.. Have given my feedback to Vlingo but in the mean time.. can someone suggest the solution ??

Nokia 5800XM not playing WMA music files

Hi there,
I recently updated to the most recent s/w update for my Nokia 5800XM.
Before I did I had no problems playing my .wma music files.
However, since the update it cannot open them and just passes over them.
Any ideas how I could get them playing again?

As this are DRM files. I used Windows Media Player and I sync it with the phone. I have tested hard-resetting the phone with complete format. That did not change anything. License information are valid according to the phone. So I am rather sure that this is the video players fault, or a bug for that matter.

I want to know whether my phone's product code is something that is preventing my phone from recieving updates.

if you are checking then you may very well have a branded handset, in which case you will need to contact your network carrier and ask if they ever planned on releasing the firmware updates for your device.
in the case they do not, then you can ask them for written permission to remove the branded firmware, and then take your phone to your nearest Nokia Care who will be able to install the generic, unbranded v60 firmware onto your device: http://nokia.com/support

Nokia 5800xm Server Profile Settings?

I am going to check any updates because the Nokia 5800xm that I purchased last month at Nokia Store is only version 20. I want version 40 or 50 for kinetic scrolling but when I "checking for updates", it always asking for Server Profile and I don't know what is the settings. I am only using Edge Connection because my phone supports only 850/1900mHz, the available frequency here in the Philippines is only 2100. Please help me thanks!

you can actually get the server profile to enable your phone to perform Over the Air Software Update by calling your Network Operator/Service Provider.

Nokia 5800xm - Folder Mess with Mass Storage Mode

This is the 3rd time I connected my Nokia 5800xm in Mass Storage Mode.. and after disconnecting (thru' Safely Remove Hardware..everytime) the Folders are in a Mess. Applications are shifted from its original folders to don't ask where..(Oh!) ..
I could re-organise them back without much trouble.. but why is this happening ? Is there any way to stop this ?

Nokia 5800xm v11 firmware bug...

Seems like the music equalizer & settings in Nokia 5800xm with a v11 firmware is sometimes not responding. This is happening sometimes when i keep changing the genres and settings while playing the musics. Stop responding means the equalizer or settings are not taking effect, for example, changing to Bass Boaster does not producing the bass effect in the music, or tuning the balance to the left/right but still playing on both sides of the earphone. exiting music player and re-entering it may have this problem fixed. So i guessed is a bug of the firmware v11.
Anybody face this problem on their 5800xm? Feel free to share it here too...

I had the same problem on the Nokia 5800: email wizard coming up everytime I switch on my phone.
I tried to create an email account through the 2 different apps, as adviced elsewhere, but without success.
Then I simply deleted the email app (the one with the little stars), and bingo!
The email accounts previously created are still here and working.
Now I'll wait for Nokia to fix their email app...

3 months ago, I got a Nokia 5800XM from a friend of mine, cause my own phone was demaged. It was a very nice phone. But 2.5 ago after I updated the firmware, says my phone: "Phone start-up failed. Please contact retailer.".
I've been to the retailer, but they said it's too difficult for them. I'm also been to a Nokia Care Point, and they said that a new 5800 was cheaper than to repair him.
The death vulcan grip/hard reset doesn't work. I tried it 30 times.
How can I fix this? I really want to use him. Another firmware is ok.

Bit surprising if you really got such responce from Nokia Care..because it MIGHT have just required firmware flashing which certainly will cost nowhere around the cost of new phone.. If possible, try another Nokia Care..
