Nokia 6021 Bug Caller groups

Hi there! I had organized some of my contacts in caller groups, but there seems to be a bug in the software. I assigned a special ringtone to that group, but when one of the members called, my phone did not ring at all. Besides, now, whenever I try to edit one of the caller groups (Contacts->Caller Groups->Select) the display fades away, the phone powers down and restarts automatically ?? But I can never enter the group itself ??
I did a software update recently, so I think it's a bug in the latest release.
Any help or advise is highly appreceated

I know it's possible to set custom ringing tone for a group of contacs, but is it also possible to set a custom picture for a group? Or can the group name be displayed together with the caller's name on incoming calls?
Currently it is impossible do distinguish among my business contacts to which group they belong if I don't want to have different (and remember it) ringing tone for each group.

..and in OVI Suite you will get the option to Re-install... Follow the steps for Software Updates.. and it will inform that so and so latest version is already installed.... Do you want to reinstall... ?

Nokia 6086 caller groups issue

I'm trying to create a caller group that has a different ringtone from the default. I created one today with a different ring, saved it, but when someone from that group called, it used the default ring tone. Is there a way to fix that? Also, I've been having some volume issues with my alarm. When the alarm goes off, the phone vibrates louder than the alarm. How can I increase the alarm's volume? I already have the standard volume on maximum but that didn't work.

Well, most likely a soft reset which of course includes wiping the phone memory will most likely fix it, but if the sync you did with Ovi contacts is the issue, there is of course a chance of that happening again when syncing back. You could try of course and maybe even back up your contacts with pc suites content copier instead, but it won't solve the initial issue. It could however just be that something went all wrong just this time.
But, If you are up to it I would have tried that since it obviusly is something wierd going on here.
Be sure you back up what's needed. - Or you might have everything you need already backed up..?

Problem to synchronise my contacts with my NOKIA 6021

I have been successful at synchronising my NOKIA 6021 with my contacts and calendar events at my first attempt. BUT, after I have made changes in my vcard groups, i couldn't synchronize any more my contacts.
What is strange is that under iSync, my contact list doesn't reflect my address book list. My calendar events still synchronize properly.
I have tried to remove and then add again my phone, but I still get the old contact list. I have also reset the iSync history, without more success to get a refreshed list in iSync.
What could I do to refresh my contact list in iSync?
By the way, where is saved my address book information in my Mac?

I think you have to choose which program you want to sync with, when your phone is pluged in and iTunes is up, go to contacts, calendars, and a drop down menu should pop up. you should be able to select outlook fom the list.

Nokia 6021 No reception no batterie indicator

Hello.
Please excuse my english.
Four days ago my nokia 6021 start to have problem.
When I swich on it, everything seems to be OK for few second. Then indicator reception falls to 0 and batterie indicator too.
I tried a friend's battery and I have same problem.
I tried reset factory from phone menu, but no change.
I tried to remove battery without switching off my phone.
I can go into menu, enter digit, ... but I can't call
Sometimes, reception coma back for few seconds : I can do a call and after few seconds, no more reception...
Did you encountered same problem.
Can I do something or do you think my phone is dead.

Nokia 6021: 999 in corporate network invokes 112 e...

Nokia 6021: Dialing 999 in the corporate network (Vodafone) invokes the dutch emergency call (112). I cannot find any setting to change the default emergency number. It seems to be fixed in firmware. Is there a way around this problem. I have several collegues expierencing this problem.

999 is the UK emergency number, were your handsets sourced from the UK?
It's not possible to change the number as far as I am aware.

Caller groups on iphone

My Nokia had Caller Groups that were designated in the contacts for different ring tones for different groups. It also had a setting to ONLY ring if someone was in the call group.
Nokia had a "silent" mode that only rang for people on the contact list who were in a particular call group. I'd settle for just allowing ringing for the entire contact list, but not ringing if not on the contact list.
Is there any apps that is similar to this feature?

STK send sms on nokia 6021 results in 0x32

Hi,
I am developing a STK application that sends an SMS. On the emulator and nokia 6680 everything goes fine. However, the nokia 6021 returns a resultcode of 0x32 ("command data not understood by ME").
What could be the problem ???

Does the 6021 actually support the Send Short Message proactive command ? Nokia's are notorious for having inaccurate terminal profiles.
However the 6021 teminal profile

would suggest that it is meant to support it.

Isync 2.2 and Nokia 6021 worked few times but not anymore

I sucessfully synchronized my Nokia 6021 after uptdating to isync 2.2. It might be a coincidence, but, after the recent service downtimes with .mac, I can not get to sync my powerbook and my nokia anymore. here is what happens:
1. start isync
2. click sync
3. the acqua bar show that the operation is progressing but, after 25% of bar lenght, the acqua bar does not move anymore.....
4. on the other hand isync keeps counting thousands of contacts while I only have less than 100.
The sync opeartion used to take seconds while now it keeps going and going until I have to stop it.
Has anyone expereinced something like that?
Anu feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to reset history several times with no luck. When I did reset history, I tried different options such as "merge..." or "erase device..." and I obtain the same result.
Here is the status that I read just below the acqua bar while synching:
"receiving changes from "Nokia 6021". contacts - 1534"
1534 is the number that keeps growing....it starts from 1 and it keeps growing.
This is really frustrating.

Nokia 6021 - Switching on and off

I have just received a brand new Nokia 6021 to replace a 6310i which was developing a fault with the on/off switch after 4 years.
Well, the 6021 is just about impossible to switch on and off. My thumb is now strained after so many attempts. The only way to it is get the edge of something hard and press down really hard for about 10 seconds and then it will switch on/off.
Is that how it is supposed to work?

Is it switching off & on without stop??!! anyway, if you have the chance to back up your data then restore factory settings or even using bluetooth to send that video to other phone first, if it's really not responding as you're saying, maybe a power cycle could be useful: turn off the phone by keeping the power button down until you feel 3quick vibrations and turn it back on after 1min, if your phone doesn't support this option, hmm... while am writing this i've had an idea you maybe changed where your camera should save pics so you might have it already on your MC, if not maybe anybody else here have better solution.

How to create Caller Groups in J2ME

It is possible to do the same programmatically with the help of some RMS or some thing else?

I need help on syncing groups with PC Suite. When browsing contacts with Phone Browser, I can edit/view contacts, but no info about the groups I've defined on my phone.
I've also tried syncing contacts with Lotus Notes but no groups were exported.
This is a very important feature for my job.

if you are using the ovi.com, i would suggest you get your contacts squared away and sync them elsewhere, that is going to be deleted soon, if not already.
i had issues syncing my data with nokia services for the longest time. it was good, then they "fixed" the nokia suite and it wasnt....then there was ovi suite and that botched them all too.
i used to sync directly to my outlook with the 9500, and then through my other devices until ovi suite when i grew tired of the challenges with the contacts.
eventually, i ended up signing up with office365 to get an exchange account for $5/mo.
i think that the devs for the software products only use thier nokia exchange accounts when testing, which goes around the issues that we have had.
i would create either a google account and sync there, or if you want to also sync directly to an outlook, create a live/hotmail/outlook.com email address and then download the hotmail connector application for your pc, and then it will sync your wireless devices and outlook like a free exchange server and sync contacts/calendar/email.

Impossible connexion Bluetooth between Nokia 6021 ...

Since updating PC Suite to release 6.83.14.1 it is impossible to link Nokia 6021 with a bluetooth connexion.
Before previous version (6.82), connexion runs well, and synchronise contacts, agenda was very usefull.

I was very surprise when No bluetooth stack is found.
There is even so a bluetooth stack (Toshiba) installed on this computer, and a connexion can be established.
With PC Suite, when I try to connect to the phone ("Gérer les connexions"), I can't see in the liste of available connexions, the Bluetooth Toshiba.
I can see only the Bluetooth (Microsoft), and if I select it, a message tells me : impossible to use this type of connexion. There is an error code like this : Code OpenMedia.
Can someone help me ?

After update the bluetooth stack, connexion can be established, and updating my contacts, agenda, notes can be done.
The bluetooth stack has been update with : Version v5.10.06(T) by Toshiba for information.
After these good news, I configure in order to synchronise automaticaly the phone informations every 15 minutes but it doesn't run well.
The PC can be connect to the phone, but we have a message in the report telling : The phone doesn't reply.
Just after, I can synchronise manually with succes.
It seems, when the phone is sleeping, No response can be obtain ?
Have you any suggestion to this problem ?

My new Nokia x6 stores call log for only 3 days even though i set up it for 30 days? Any one facing this issue? How to overcome this? PLs help. Thanx in advance...

Have read on this forum.. suggesting to first change the Call Log duration to say 1 day.. Re-boot the phone .. then change it back to 30 days.. and re-boot the phone..
..also in some cases the no. of entries also caused the problem.. though the setting is for 30 days if there is a lot more no. of entries under the log.. it is getting erased automatically.. Some users pointed out that it was happening in their case when there are few applications that required periodic connection to the network for updates (like e-mail, weather applications, etc..) and frequent logs were getting created...
