Nokia 6030 Broken/Cracked Screen

I have a Nokia 6030 with a defective screen, I have important contact numbers stored on the phone and want to transfer these to the SIM. Nokia want to charge me £50 for it so thats not an option. Can anyone provide/link me a step by step guide for doing so?Please. And no, I currently dont know anyone else with a 6030.
Cheers

try this
go to menu
open contact
press options
scroll to mark/unmark-.click on that-mark all
you will see a tick against each contact
again press options
scroll to copy-click on that-to sim memory(directory)
it will be done
you can check whether it copied by again going to contact and pressing option and see if there is sim contact-sim directory (all the number in your sim)
see if it helps you
note one thing that mostly sim cant store many number..like my sim can support only 150 numbers in it memory

  • Nokia 6500 slide cracked screen how to turn on Blu...

    Hey there,
I have a nokia 6500 slide. I bought it quite a while ago and I have been using it as it was my favorite phone. Sadly about 3 days ago the screen cracked and its now black and flickering colors. I URGENTLY need to recover the data saved on the phone (not on the simcard nor the mini SD). so I have a notebook with Bluetooth connection but I need to turn on the Bluetooth on the phone somehow. Could someone please provide me with screenshots of the user interface? or guide me with numbers so I can turn on the Bluetooth? I need the messages and contacts saved on the phone!
Thank you hell of a lot in advance!

i forgot: connecting the cable is not an option. the connection for it on the phone broke the first day of use. i was too lazy to send it to repairs sadly.....

  • IPod Touch, 8gb size, mostly broken(cracked screen & have to use in a dock). Can I get cash out of it somehow?

I have an iPod Touch, 8gb in size.  The screen is broken and it mostly has to be plugged into a dock to work.
My question is does anyone know of a trade-in program, or, some way I can sell this iPod?  Is there a trade-in program, or something I can utilize to get some cash back or some credit out if this iPod?  Or, should I call it a day and just trash it at this point - and admit all is lost?!
Your knowledge and input is appreciated, thanks!

  • Nokia 920 heavily cracked screen after short drop ...

Well, it happened. My brand new Lumia 920 took a three foot drop out of my coat pocket onto the pavement below while I was getting out of my car. The result was a heavily damaged screen.
Cracks now cover over half of the screen, and small, tiny (and sharp!) pieces of glass are slowly falling out. Phone performance is also spotty, as it now randomly turns off and the OS regularly freezes.
I was VERY surprised to see that there was any damage at all, considering this is Gorilla Glass 2.0. I've seen the videos - the drop tests, using the phone to hammer in a nail, etc. I couldn't believe that a BARELY 3 foot drop did this to the screen.
Anyways, I'm pretty bummed about my brand new toy. Anybody know what options I have =-/ ...? I got it through AT&T.
Attached is a photo of the damage =-(.

    OUCH!!!
    What a first post.
it must have hit just perfectly to do that! that is really a bummer in deed. Not sure why do easy.
I had my n9 fly off the treadmill at 8.5mph, fling back about 12 feet and SLAM into another unit and though the screen cracked, it was nothing like that and still worked perfectly.
being it is so new, I don't think there are even glass replacements available yet.
    did you get insurance?
if not, you could get it through something like squaretrade, and they will repair or replace your unit...

  • Nokia 6070 broken screen; numbers stored to phone.

    Hey there,
I've broken my screen and my numbers are stored to my phone rather than my SIM.
Can someone please tell me what buttons to press so as to copy my numbers to my SIM so as to retrieve them.
    Many thanks,
    Dave

The menu structures may be different in some models, for instance regional or network variations, so the best way is to back up to a computer using PC Suite. That way, the only time you need to press a button on the phone is when you first connected it, and you just press the select key to choose PC Suite/Nokia mode on the phone.

  • Can a broken display screen be firxed, cracked glass?

Can an ipod touch with a broken display screen be fixed? It has multiple small cracks in the glass from being accidentally dropped. It still works.

Yes, the screen can be replaced.  Best bet is visit and Apple Retail store genius bar and talk to them about the work.

  • Nokia 6300 Broken Screen (can't see a thing) help ...

    Hi guys.
I've got a Nokia 6300 and the screen broke the other day and I'm unable to see a thing. I can still use the phone though (blindly of course)
I'd like to transfer my numbers from my phone to my sim and to be able to do this without being to see.
So if someone could help me with shortcuts? I think I can press the menu key, then some numbers (am i right?) rather than up down etc etc.
Any help would be really really appreciated as i'm stuffed without a phone at the moment!
    Thanks so much!
    Charlie

once in main menu, i cant just go to any sub menu by pressing a number key, i have to use directional pad to go to CONTACTS, in there, press UP, (go to the last selection)it's COPY CONTACTS, an other UP, it's MOVE CONTACTS,
choose either one, once in, you have two option, first: FROM PHONE TO SIM, 2nd: FROM SIM TO PHONE, if u select the first one, it asks : move contacts? press center to answer YES, and wait, it may takes a while, i did with 60 contacts, in about 20 seconds.
by default, in grid mode, the upper center icon is the contacts.

  • Does the insurance cover broken or cracked screens?

I dropped my ipod only once and it cracked big time, does the insurance cover my cracked screen. If not what do I do?

A bit of info from my experience.
I have a 64GB iTouch 4th gen and had a violent drop about 5 months ago, which cracked the screen on the bottom corner. Fortunately the touchscreen still worked and the crack ran across the screen. I bought the iTouch off eBay refurbished so I naturally assummed it was not under warranty or it was void. I was meaning to replace the screen myself or get an expensive repair job done but just procrastinated since it was still working. Fast forward to Nov 2, 2011 a friend noticed it was cracked and wonder why I havent repaired it, I told him the story and he said to check if it was still under warranty online. We ran the serial number and to my crazy luck it was still under warranty until Nov 3, 2011! One day left!
I immediately made an appointment and went into the local Apple Store on Nov 3rd. Told them the story and they replaced it with a brand new one. Was really impressed that they replaced it without me bugging them or complaining about the cracked screen. Definitely made me a believer that they really do their best to retain loyal customers. I ended up buying the additional year warranty for the new iTouch they gave, it was a no brainer.
My suggestion would be to go online and check the serial number if it is still under warranty. If not than you'll have to fork the cash on your own for the repair job. Hopefully my luck passes to you.
    Good luck.

  • Iphone 4 home button not working, called never fixed, then cracked screen before bringing it back again, will they blame the cracked screen if i bring it back?

I bought an iPhone 4 less than a year ago, then one day the home button randomly stopped working, I bought the warranty so I decided to call in and see what was wrong with it. The girl said that restoring the phone would correct the problem which it did. But it is only a temporary fix, it happens more often now. So I was meaning to call in soon, but the other day my phone fell out of my pocket IN CASE from a foot height and cracked the screen. I nearly threw up. All the years I have had a phone I have never cracked or broken one, strongest screen my ***. Anyway, if I contact them again now will they fix the home button problem? or will they say that the cracked screen is obviously the cause of the home button not working? which it is not!! I don't care about the screen being cracked its not on the actual screen just on the side so its irrelevant to me. Plus I heard it is outrageosly pricey to replace.

Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.
    Regards.

  • Need advice on cracked screen

    hi,
UPS broke the screen on my 17" G5 when I sent it home from school. I plan to file an insurance claim and want to have an idea of what a repair will cost.
I realize I'll probably need to go to the Mac store in town for any official quote or repair/replacement, but I can't do that for a few days and would appreciate any info.
There are several distinct cracks in the screen. Most of it is black, but a portion of it still displays properly.
Thanks or any help you can offer!

    Hello,
Sorry to hear about the cracked screen.
First, you should be aware that any delay in filing an insurance claim will provide them with potential to get out of it.
You should have contacted them immediately when you opened the box and found it broken.
When you contact them, be sure to write down times, dates, and who you spoke with for each conversation. Likewise, record exactly what they told you on paper (take notes while talking).
As for the value of the screen, I think you will likely be surprised $672.35.
    http://www.applepalace.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1457
Now, I've never dealt with this company, so I cannot speak for them.
But, that gives you one starting price.
Now, keep in mind a few points:
    1) You will want Apple to replace this part since you will want your warranty in-tact. And, since UPS should be covering the repair cost, you obviously want the best chance for success.
    2) Apple's prices for parts is generally much higher than the 3rd-party. So, I would count on at least $700 to $800. But, you should call the Apple service center for a better price estimate.
    3) There are 3 different versions of the iMac G5 17-inch computer. So, you will need to make sure you get the right screen for your specific computer.
    4) Make sure you find out from UPS whether you need to get it fixed before filing the claim, or if you need to provide them with an estimate before they initiate the repair process.
I hope this helps. Good luck to you in your repair process. I hope UPS doesn't give you too much trouble.

  • Cracked screen led to numerous other problems.

There is something wrong with my phone. In addition to the cracked screen, the mic & front camera are broken, I can't get cellular data,  the screen has been moving by itself (sliding back in front b/t screens, opening apps, calling people). All this happened after I broke the screen. I have done no other damage that I know off.
Can my iPhone be fixed or naw? If so, what exactly do I need get done?

Breaking the screen can result in a wide variety of problems. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Nokia 6030 and System.currentTimeMillis

    Hi
I'm developing my game for J2ME phones. It works well on a lot of devices. Today I got Nokia 6030 (S40 2nd Edition) and tested my game on this phone. It very strange! Timer works veeeery fast. I made small debug on screen. I made drawString System.currentTimeMillis() and I saw that time goes very fast. On all phones System.currentTimeMillis() increases 1000 per second. On 6030 System.currentTimeMillis() increases 1000000 (or more) per second. Why?!?! On emulator of Nokia 6030 it works well (1000 per second). It very strange. I tested this program on a lot of devices and everywhere it worked well.
    Help me, please...
