Nokia 6070 stuck in headset mode

starting today my nokia 6070 is refusing to go out of headset mode without ever having had a headset. I reset factory settings and nothing seems to work. Anybody have any idea's?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I believe the 6070 is a pop-port phone, and what you're describing is characteristic of moisture or corrosion inside the connector.
Take your handset to the nearest Nokia Care Point, they will clean it out for you and you should be right as rain afterwards.

  • Nokia 6300 stuck on headset

I have a Nokia 6300 and I have never ever used a headset with this phone, however this phone is stuck on headset mode!!
As a result I cannot hear anyone when they phone or when I phone.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this - I have not altered any of the settings as it worked when I went to bed and now it does not!!
    Please help!

Try taking the battery out for a few minutes then put it back in. If not resolved, then try resetting your phone to factory defaults. =)

  • Ipad mini (1st. gen)  stuck in headset mode

AFTER UPDATING TO IOS 8 NOW BOTH OF MY MINI IPADS (1ST GEN) ARE STUCK ON HEADSET MODE... HELP!!!!!

I had the exact same problem with my iPhone a few months ago. I was in the middle of an update and it told me to connect to iTunes while it was already connected, but then stayed frozen. I tried restoring, removing the sim card, reinstalling iTunes, using a different computer, everything. Unfortunately you'll probably have to take it to the Apple store like I did. They wiped out my phone and fixed the problem in about 2 seconds, but they did it in the back room so I have no idea what they actually did. Probably worked their Mac Genius magic or something. Sorry :\

  • N97 stuck in headset mode

I connected my phone up to my stereo via the headphone jack. And when I unplugged it, it didn't register this. Now it's stuck in headset mode with the little headphone icon in the top right. I can't answer any calls as it sends it through to the headphones and I can't bluetooth music to my car either.
I have tried switching off and then on again, and tried connecting the headphones that came with it in the hope that when I unplugged them it would fix itself. On a separate issue I can't connect it to my pc so I can't back anything up, to do a hard re-set.
    Any suggestions?

Mine is doing exactly the same thing.
The only way for me to get rid of the headphones mode is to turn it off and turn it back on again then when it asks 'Select accessory', I press 'Cancel'. And even tho it is not yet in headphone mode if I try to put on the FM Transmitter it says 'Unable to activate FM transmitter while enhancement is connected'.
Since nobody replied to my thread I am just hanging out till the firmware v12.0.024 update is available before I take it back to the store.

  • Samsung Trance stuck in headset mode

My Samsung trance has no sound when I don't have headphones plugged in and when I open a text message, it automatically initiates an outgoing call to the message sender.

        Hi candace_marie18.
I'm sorry to learn your Samsung Trance is having issues with being stuck in headset mode, as well as it placing calls automatically to people when you open your texts. Let's see what we can do. How long have you had your phone? When did this start happening? Has it been dropped or exposed to liquid at all? You can try removing battery for 30 seconds and restart to see if it fixes issues. Otherwise, as archeryhunter1993 mentioned, you can try a Master Reset.
    * From the main screen, press OK to choose Menu.
    * Select Settings & Tools then press OK.
    * Select Phone Settings then press OK.
    * Select Security then press OK.
    * Enter the Phone Lock Code (default is the last 4 digits of the phone number) then press OK.
    * Select Restore Phone then press OK.
    * Select Yes then press OK.
    * Press OK.
    * Enter the handset lock code (default is the last 4 digits of the phone number) then press OK.
I trust this information is helpful.

  • 3GS stuck in headset mode (no ringtone & sounds)

    Hi,
at first: I never jailbreaked my phone and i take a lot of care of my device.
But today i made two calls and i didn't hear the called persons.
Then i tried to raise the volume with the volume buttons but it was at full volume showing:
    Volume (headset)
I never use a headset, but now i know my phone thinks a headset is attached and deactivates the internal speaker.
I searched for the original iphone headphones and plugged them in and out, but still stuck in headset mode. Rebooted several times and controlled the headphone jack for dirt inside, but problem still persists.
Now i powered down the 3GS an waited for an hour and after reboot the headset mode is gone and internal speaker is working again immediately.
    My questions:
    - Why did this happen?
    - Is it a known hardware bug? If so, will it happen again, so i should take it better to warranty repair?
    br Pappl

One cause of this is lint stuck in the headphone jack causing a short. Plugging the headphones in and out merely pushes the lint further down. Next time this happens(hopefully it won't happen again), try cleaning the headphone jack with compressed air first. There is no bug regarding this, and most likely won't happen again.

  • E61 stuck in headset mode

My boss's E61 is stuck in headset mode (happened during a call when no headset was plugged in). I've tried toggling every option on and off but it is still there. I've plugged in and out headsets but this mode is still stuck.
This set is still using 1.x firmware.
Do you think it is hardware problem (connectors short circuited internally) or a software bug?

    Hi wiilstay
If you back up all data first, you could always try updating the software using NSU which will return everything to factory settings. This will eliminate any possible software
    problem!

  • IPhone still stuck in headset mode? Try this.

So your iPhone is stuck in headset mode. No sound from earhole speaker, no sound from external speaker unles you use speaker mode during a call. When you change volume, the volume icon says ringer(headphones) even though no headphones are plugged in. Every time you plug in your headphones, the ipod function starts playing songs, and stops when you unplug.
You've tried cleaning the jack. You've looked at previous posts in this forum, and at the knowledgebase.

None of these suggestions have helped, and you don't want to hard reset your phone. This is what i think worked for me.
    1. Plug in headset when iPhone is locked.
    2. Hold down the power button so that the "slide to power off" bar appears.
    3. Remove the headphones.
    4. Push the "Cancel" button at the bottom of the screen.
    5. Go to the phonepad and see if pressing the buttons now produces sound.
(It's possible that I've forgotten something that I did, so the next time my phone locks, I'll try the same method again and update this post. Unless someone else is having the problem and wants to verify.)
    ~ Matthew Lowe

The root cause is either the presence of lint/dust in the switch or the inadequate resilience of the spring.
Nod, that's the cause of a similar problem, and cleaning the jack tends to help. My problem is a software problem, though, so cleaning and repeatedly inserting the headphones won't help.
With the problem I have, the iphone responds to the headphones being inserted or removed, so it knows they're there (or not there) but it fails to switch the speaker output.

  • Ringer stuck in headset mode

I've tried inserting and removing a headset, but it didn't fix the problem. I have never used a headset on this phone, so not sure how it got into headset mode. Any suggestions?

My husband's 4S just had the same issue.  I used a can of compressed air that I use for cleaning keyboards.  I gave it 3 shots of air and his sounds and ringer are back.

  • Nokia 6230, defaults to "headset" mode

My nokia 6230 suddenly desided to default to the haedset connected mode, and therefore the earpiece speaker will not transmit and sound. I have found that by connecting my data cable to my pc and then disconnecting sorts the problem until I turn the phone off and on again (reverts back to headset connected mode. Have I somehow changed a phone setting to default to this in error or have i got a software/ hardware fault?. Tried factory reset but didn't make any difference. Can anyone help? Thanks Tannytheman

I wouldn't shout that about too much - if you take the phone apart yourself you will void the warranty - so if it has a fault in the future, it won't be covered...
    Not worth the risk IMO.
I know the 6230 isn't likely to be covered by the warranty any more, but they were still sold 18 months ago, so some will be covered.

  • IPhone stuck in Headset mode

Id like to report a bug. The iPhone will still think the head set is plugged in (internal ear piece/mic does not function) when I do the following:
    1. Use the phone with the head set
    2. let the phone lock itself after not using it
    3. remove the head set AFTER the phone has locked
    Solution:
Right now the solution is to unlock the phone, reconnect the headset and then unplug it. You can confirm if it is working because the "lock/unlock" sound will come through the phone speakers instead of the headset.
I have had this issue intermittently throughout my ownership of the iphone.
Apple PLEASE make sure the phone knows when the headset is disconnected. This has interrupted MANY of my phone calls for both business and pleasure.
    Anyone else having this issue?

iPhone locked in headset only mode
Cause: removing a headset while phone playing and locked.
Major symptom: no sound from earhole speaker.
Solution: (fastest) play a song from iPod or any lengthy duration audio clip and allow phone to completely lock. Insert iPhone compatible headset jack. Unlock phone. Stop audio. Unplug jack.
    Resetting does not work.
Often I have my phone plugged into some speakers at work through an adapter. I grab my phone to run to lunch and forget to unlock first. Now its useless as a phone.
Workaround until you can get back to a headset: speakerphone will still work, but you will not be able to hear other things (youtube, iPod, etc)
Other way to diagnose problem: when you change the volume on iPod or video clip using the buttons on the side of the phone (not the screen slider bar) the dialog box will say headset.
At first I thought I broke the phone by pushing the jack in too hard, and was relieved to find out it was a fairly simple glitch. I don't think it is going to be easy for apple to fix though. It is pretty annoying.

  • 6630 stuck on headset mode??

    Hi people,
Yesterday, with no apparent reason my 6630 started showing the headset icon, and behaving as if a headset was connected - I can’t talk or hear anything without the headset. Needless to say the headset was NOT connected.
I tried messing with the profiles, doing a hard reset, even cleaning the contacts with alcohol but to no avail.
Do you have any ideas? My phone is 14 months old and Orange don’t want to fix it.
    Please advise, thanks!

If your sure its out of warranty (it may be one of the first to have a 24 month warranty, a CNSP should be able to tell you) then you have no choice but to take it to a CNSP to get them to check the internals near the bottom connector which will no doubt have contamination leading to the phone "thinking" a headset is plugged in (chargeable I'm afraid). A simple clean will often fix this, sometimes just wiping the outside of the bottom connector terminals with a q-tip soaked in IPA will fix your problem.
