Nokia 6080 Theme Problem

Hey guys, ive got a nokia 6080 and am having a problem with the theme. When I first used the phone there was no theme selected by default and when browsing through the menu system there was subsequently no graphic or picture behind the menu. I obviously started playing with the phone and selected a theme from the 2 that were already on it. But now I dont want the theme anymore as ive set a different default wallpaper anyway. Here lies the problem. I cannot seem to find a way of unselecting a theme. I have to have one of the two that were on there. So now I have set my wallpaper, I still have other settings from the theme like the image behind the menu when im navigating through it. Is there a way to remove or unselect the theme in use? or am I now forced to use one of the themes that was on the phone at the time of purchase?
Thanks,
James Clements

Sorry, but is it lawful for you here to show any link to a "blank" theme? i've deleted the Nokia theme by mistake and the only one i do have now - is City. And i don't like it very much. And i read somewhere here in other threads that nobody can share here with Nokia theme as it is copyrighted.

  • Nokia 6080 Themes

I am considering getting a Nokia 6080 within the next few days. I have been looking around the internet for some cool themes and I have stumbled upon some really cool ones.
Problem is that these themes are filed under Series 40 3rd Edition themes...The 6080 is a 2nd edition phone according to Nokia.com but on the website with all the themes it says it is 3rd edition.
    http://gallery.mobile9.com/c/nokia-6080-themes/1/
The signal bars on the 6080 are different from the ones shown in the previews for the themes.
To make things more complicated, I found a pic of the 6080 with the horizontal signal bars (barely visible in this pic)
    http://www.gophone.com.tw/images/mixnews/0606190058.jpg
and the other kind of signal bars shown in this pic:

Can somebody tell me if the themes on the website will work on the Nokia 6080?

"Some themes can change the look of the battery meter and signal bar. "
Perfect answer. I was worrying that the 6080 has no themes for it because the signal bars were different. Thanks a lot!

  • Nokia 5610 theme problem.

Hey guys i got the new nokia 5610 blue but when i bought it, it didn't have it's themes it had the nokia 5610 red themes.. so can somebody please tell me where i can get the original nokia 5610 blue themes?
    Thanks.

I think I’ve found an answer in the gsmarena given by MM.
    Link - http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_5610-reviews-2086.php
"Hey to help everyone with the memory card going to default problem. It happens when you take the backcover off the phone, because if u look closely at the underside of the back cover, you will see that the metal framing around the camera and flash also acts as a connector for the MMC completing the circuit - there is a connector on the camera side and another on the flash side. So if you take the backcover off the phone while in use, you actually disconnect the memory card by breaking the circuit and thus any ringtones or wallpapers that you have set from the memory card goes back to default. Cheers n enjoy ur phones "
I hope this info will help.

  • Nokia N91 Themes Problem

    1) my N91 don't show more than 15 themes in themes menu...if i have 15 themes and if i install another new theme, my N91 show 15 themes too and one of first 15 themes dissapear and appear this new theme...is this a problem for all n91 devices? my sw: 2.10.013...but i think that this problem was and on version 2.00...any solutions?
    2) i can't find in application manager all themes which are on my N91. How can i remove themes which don't appear in aplication manager?
Can anyoane which is the theme folder on my hdd? I think this will help me to remove themes which not appear in application manager.
PS: all my themes are on the hdd.

In order to have several themes you must do the following for each theme you want to install:
    1) Connect the phone via USB to your PC in data transfer mode
    2) Locate the following folder in your Mini SD Card: \Private\10207114\import
    3) Copy all the inside folders to your hard drive
    4) Switch to PC-Suite mode in your USB Connection
    5) Install your desired theme
    6) Select your theme on the phone
    7) Switch to Data Transfer mode in your USB Connection
    8) Copy all the folders from your previous backup to the following folder on your SD Card: \Private\10207114\import
    9) Do not replace the folders that already exists on the phone
    10) Switch to PC-Suite mode and enjoy your theme!
Inside the directory "\Private\10207114\import" the themes are stored, try always to store them in the Mini SD Card. Somehow the phone operating system deletes folders on that directory when installing a new theme, but backing up them before the installation of a new theme and restoring that information after the installation this problem is covered.

  • Nokia 5000 themes problem

Why the wallpaper for every theme I install is cut from the top (The place where the clock is) and bottom (The place of the softkeys)? and how can I fix that?

Thats how it is mate, if you want a full screen wallpaper then you will have to make a theme with wallpaper/image you have.

  • Nokia 6080 & PC suite problem - access to sms's

    Hi,
First of all, i must apologize cause my english is not so good :-)
I have Nokia 6080 and i connect it via Cable CA-42 with my PC.
Everything seems to work fine, with PC Suite, except having access to sms's.
In Files Manager f.i. when i try to see sms's, explorer freezes and doesn't responding...
If trying to make a backup of sms... the program freezes too...
The access to other mobile files, like Images, Sounds etc... is working fine.
It seems like beeing a problem of Nokia 6080 firmware...
    Is there any possible solution?
    Thanks
    Dimi
    Tech.information:
    Nokia 6080
    Cable CA-42
PC Suite: v.6.84.10.4 [tried english and greek version, too]
PC: MS Windows XP Pro (Service Pack 2)
Note: Reading sms's in my mobile works fine... i have only 2-3 sms's, i mean i have not a huge number of sms's (if it could be a prob too)

    Uh... no answer :-(
At least, is there a way to find if Nokia is *planning* to release new version for 6080 firmware?
    Nokia 6080 isn't listed in http://europe.nokia.com/A4579163
But, how could i try to re-install it's firmware
    - coz... a user here wrote:
I have a 6080 which had exactly the same problems with PC suite not recognising the message folder. I use a generic cable and it worked fine with all other models.
After many weeks of denial and three new phones, Nokia finally found a fault with the software on the phone. They flashed the software and now it's working fine. I'd suggest take it back to nokia for the software fix.
    Thanks.

  • Nokia 6080 irda and pc suite

    Hi everybody,
i've got the nokia 6080 phone and usb irda adapter and i am trying connect the phone to my pc, so that i can sync my contacts, but when i lay the phone near the adapter i have the message from pc suite:
"PC Suite does not recognise the connected phone. The connection between the PC and the phone failed, error code 0x80043605. ..."
I have win XP sp2, and the latest version of pc suite(6.85)
What can i do to make all of this work?

    Hi josephcondon,
The final solution was to play a bit with irda dongle drivers, actually there were a few modifications which windows claimed to be compatible, when I chose one of them problem has gone away. These options were placed in the driver's properties tab or so.
For now I completely switched to Linux, thus I doubt that I can help you further.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Edward

  • Nokia N8-00 Problems

I chose the N8 for the specification & I believed Nokia must have corrected all the faults in the previous N series handsets, especially with the arrival of Bells software but I am deeply disappointed. I have two identical handsets and have used one for more than eighteen months but the battery now holds a standby charge for only a few hours so I switched to the unused "new" unit: less than a month in use and not even fully configured yet and it is bricked. I am sending it for repair because I cannot afford to buy a new phone but I will still have problems even if it is repaired because:
I connect the handset to my home wireless network and it loses the connection within less than an hour. It does not connect automatically when I arrive home and I have never managed to connect it to any other wireless network as it seems to screw the passwords. I must constantly check to see it is connected at home.
Even when it is connected to the wireless network, email is not sent via the internet connection but only on the mobile data/3G connection and as the handset aerial is so poor that I rarely have a signal in my own house my email will not be sent while I am at home unless I stand at the window and continually press the send and receive button. Sometimes my outbox has emails for a week or two if I have not remembered to force sending (this takes about ten minutes).
What use is email that does not go anywhere? what use is email that cannot be forwarded? I receive an email from Nokia to my Nokia (ovi) account and try to forward it to my PC but it hangs on the "retrieving" screen for a while then quits the email application! It takes several attempts to retrieve some emails and I do not even try any which have attachments. This is often a problem with Nokia emails!
I have no use for facebook on my mobile but I cannot delete it. It is the same with Twitter, I use these on my home PC only but cannot remove them from my handset and facebook inserts itself into my contacts details and adds captions I do not want. What is going on with this? I should be able to configure my phone the way I want it. It is the second decade of the twenty-first century, why is Nokia locking apps onto my handset? I have no use at all for E! News and several games but again, I cannot remove them.
The bluetooth connection to my headset is excellent but sometimes it simply forgets it is paired so I must stop (if in the car) whatever I am doing and start again switching on and off, pairing and connecting: where is the convenience?
If I attempt to switch on the handset while it is charging then it refuses to respond or it switches off again, my spare handset after three weeks use just died as I plugged it into the charger and has not recovered, looking on the internet I find this has happened to thousands of users across the world: Nokia give them no service after this and they all speak of being previously loyal customers, I have tried for months to complain to Nokia but my contact is either ignored or just does not submit. No other company has shown such contempt for it's own customers.
My wife's Blackberry uses the same carrier and never loses signals where and when my Nokia does so it must be the handset failing.
Since the last update (Belle) my camera takes so long to switch on that the shot I wanted is often gone: my 16 month old son is often funny and worth photographing but the wonderful camera on my phone is still considering opening the shutter when he moves on. If I have the camera open and ready then one shot is all I can take as it takes so long to return to shooting mode (if I press the back-arrow twice it waits a while then switches out of camera mode completely). that seems to be a screen fault.
The touch screen is so sensitive when I type a text that it takes the letter adjacent to the one I am pressing unless I am extremely careful if however I am using any other function then I must smack the screen repeatedly to make it accept a button press after which it might take one press action or several depending how it feels. sometimes it flatly refuses to respond at all. I tried to buy a stylyus but found they are only available from Nokia shops: the Nokia shop in my home town was closed down so I went to London but that one had closed down too. THE NOKIA STORE IN THE CAPITAL OF THE UK (the world's fifth richest economy?) HAS CLOSED. A nearby Vodafone dealer told me he thinks there is still one in Reading. I tried to find a store using the Nokia website but I quit such timewasting eventually as I am constantly presented with Carphone Warehouse address (BY NOKIA ON THEIR WEBSITE). So, no stylus, no Nokia shop for advice or support which is annoying because the staff in the Guildford shop were so helpful and gave excellent service to all who asked, I am sure they kept the public opinion of Nokia in a high position but they were "replaced" suddenly and then the shop was empty.
One of the main reasons I chose the N8 was for the FM broadcast feature because my car had no connection to the audio system for MP3 music, it was very useful in my Jeep because the aerial was in the front windscreen but I no longer have that car and the broadcast only gives a signal strongly enough of the handset is very close to the aerial so the rear of the roof position on VW Group motors is a killer unless you have a rear seat passenger who can hold the phone above their head.
I need a smartphone for the phone, the camera, the calculator, the calendar, the email, the internet (occasionally), the PC synchronisation and a few other applications like the maps (which are brilliant when they work). I have problems with almost every function on my phone but my friends have no problem with their Blackberry, HTC, iphone, Samsung handsets so why? why has the world's premiere mobile phone manufacturer lost the ability to produce a reliable handset?
I could continue, my N8 gives me so much frustration each day, but what is the point? The greatest frustration is Nokia's refusal to listen to the complaints from it's customers: it is almost impossible to contact Nokia and they fail to answer whatever does go to them. I think my only recourse is to save, buy a different phone and continue to blog and tweet about the **bleep** service now available from Nokia. I am kicking myself for all the times I tried to convince friends and family to use Nokia products: since they tried to make a smartphone (N70?) they seem to have lost their minds.

    hi mate,
sorry to hear of your problems. from the sounds of things, sounds like you received faulty handsets, i've never had any problems with my N8 with any of its functions in the entire time that i've owned it (and which is now on Nokia Belle Refresh).
sounds like you need to visit Nokia Care for resolution of these issues: http://nokia.com/support

  • N79 Power Saver Theme Problem

I bought an N79 just last mounth.
    it's a sweet phone but i have an small problem.;
when i choose a theme for power saver (Date, text, slide show , ....) it have been shown for only 2 seconds and disappear and screen goes to BLACK.
even i choose longest time for power Saver but it did not work.
anyone has problem like this? any idea?
Does NOKIA fix this problem in new firmware?
how can i report this BUG to NOKIA?
    thanks
    Nokia N79 4GB
    SW Version: 32.001 RM-348 MEA

I really doubt this is a deliberate design. Most other Nokia phones have the same "power saver" which pops up when the phone is idle, and all of them - even current ones - are set up so that:
    1) The power saver appears after its timeout
    2) The backlight switches off after its own, independent timeout
    3) The power saver remains shown regardless of the phone's current state
Why would the Power Saver have its own timeout and selection of Power Saver screens designed to show you the date and time, if it can only be shown for 2 seconds? I'm disappointed that Nokia support is disregarding this issue, but I assume it's more out of ignorance and a stock response than any insight into their plans for future firmware updates. Is there a "bug report" page or something we can use to ensure it's properly logged and not just dismissed?
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.

  • N8 Nokia recognized the problem Power Down-Power U...

    Hi all
Nokia assume that a "small" number of Nokia N8 can have a defect that causes the power down and power up problem.
    See the interview.
    http://conversations.nokia.com/2010/11/18/evp-niklas-savander-discusses-nokia-n8-quality/
At least a feedback from Nokia about this problem.
    Nokia N8 / N9 / Lumia 920 White

I just bought and pickup my new N8 from Batelco, as soon as arrived home, I unpacked and only to find out that its not charging and not even opening.
If they recognized the fault, they should at least informed the customer or the supplier itself or distributor about this fault so as not to have this worst experience of my life. A brand new and costly phone is not worth having this kind of problem.
Bad thing was, when I told them about the problem, they send me right away to customer service instead of replacing it with new one.
Guys from Nokia, you should do better than this, its not healthy for your company to have such lousy and problematic phone.

  • Nokia 6080

i have a new nokia 6080 cool its shape purchased on 12 th december in Kuwait. it dials 4,5 & 6 while talking to others
send the phone to service center. still the same problem
appreciate any one can advise what to do next
    thanks

HI there! I am from Romania and I had the same problem (my 6080 was dialing 4, 5 and 6 during talking) and seeing that many other had the same problem, it makes me feel that this is a major problem on 6080. Anyway, I sent my phone to service and they change the main board entirely (as they told me) and now I have no more problems.
I just hope that somebody from NOKIA is reading those discussions and will take notice about this, to solve this problem and to to apear again in the future.
    All the bests to everybody!
