Nokia 6085 Screen Malfunction

The Screen on my Nokia 6085 has started to flash blue and then return to normal. It does this approximately ever 5 seconds. Does anyone know why this is occuring and how it can be stopped.
Thank-you.

Nokia discontinued the model btw, they say it's just because they developed a new model but really it's because they realized this model is defective...
No. Not this time. It's still being rolled out of the factory. It seems some batches of this phone have this kind of fault.
This tip below might be a little useful.
Try updating your phone's firmware by clicking to this link below:

Make sure you meet the system requirements before proceeding and backup some of your important contents.
If the phone still does not show any improvements, I suggest you to send the phone to the Nokia Care Centre near you.

  • Nokia 770 screen malfunction

Ok so I was loading up a video in mplayer that ive loaded up previously and worked fine. This time the nokia froze up so I took the battery out to reset it. I turn the 770 back on and get a white screen and after about 3 minutes I hear the "Ding dong Ding" sound indicating boot up, the screen then shows a few blurred gray lines but its still mostly white, when i touch the screen it will make the ticking sound and i can kind of see that menus are opening yet the screen is still mostly white! So far ive reinstalled maemo once with the latest version but im still having the same problem! please someone help me, as this sucks greatly so.

I would say take it to your local Nokia service centre, but I did that and they couldn't deal with it. They were very helpful and very sorry and I ended up ringing Nokia Head Office. I had to register as a Club Nokia member using my N80 then they have said someone will call me to arrange for the 770 to be collected.
Mine became faulty for no apparent reason, I turned it on and - nothing! Really miss mine, broken since Thursday and no idea when Nokia will collect or return.

  • Enhancement not supported Nokia 6085..Headset prob...

I just bought a new headset (Nokia Music Headset - HS-20) for my nokia 6085 and it fits in perfectly and everything but after a few seconds a screen pops up and says "Enhancement not supported" Any ideas?

1st, on the support page of 6085 your headset is not listed as supported by your phone.
2nd are you sure that the headset is original?
see if you can return it, and ask for a different one and check in the support site

  • Nokia 6085 dead battery? Does not charge! HELP!!!

After the battery of a Nokia 6085 mobile phone was fully used, the phone turned off (display off; black). Now, the battery does not seem to recharge when connected to the mains.
How to fix it? Any help most appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Update for the records (in case it may be helpful to someone):
Today, the same thing happened (the battery was exausted and the phone did not turn on after connecting to the mains via the charger). Probably the battery had been completely exhausted for a week or so.
I did as above, but this time I did not hear any sound when connecting the charger. Pressing the big metallic button did not work.
So, I also pressed the four smaller buttons-keys (located arround the big metallic one), pressing them one after the other in a row (first the top right blue selection key, then the bottom right red end key, then the  bottom left green call key, and finally the top left blue selection key). And a few seconds later the phone came to life turning on its screen! Eventually it made a noise and charged OK.
I know, I know all this is because the batery gets completely exhausted, but I usually do not use any mobile phone at all, so this is in a table drawer and sometimes I forget to recharge it. I may receive one or two calls on this phone each month or so and that is the only reason that I keep it.
As said, this is just for the records, in case it may be helpful to someone.

  • Nokia 6085 just stopped working....

Well my three month old Nokia 6085 has stopped working.
I was texting some friends and suddenly it started to be really slow and then started going on and off and when I tried turning it back on sometimes it started and sometimes it didn't.
Now it just turns on to the start screen saying Nokia and stays there.
What is wrong and how do I fix it?
By the way, it isn't the battery. I've tried different ones and tried them in another phone and they work....

Mine worked for approx 11 minutes from new. Never even got the SIM installed. Was looking at menus.
Now it just flashes "Nokia" then white/blue/white/blue and off.
This appears to be a reasonably common fault, and I imagine it will be warrantee, however the reseller Denys any knowledge or responsibility for this. Brand new, i need to go to a customer care dealer. Nearest one..... 4 hours away.
Now the phone I purchased for the weekend trip, because my old one is nearly dead... is deader than the old one.
This is not good enough Nokia. You need to do something.

  • Nokia 6085 Firmware Catastrophy

This morning I attempted to update my Nokia 6085's firmware from 4.3 to 5.03. With one minute remaining in the process the phone would disconnect from the computer (Via USB) on its own and I was prompted to try again. I did as such about 3 times with the same problem happing in succession of one after the other. I restarted my computer to maybe fix the problem and now my phone doesn't work.
My Nokia 6085 phone will turn on for a moment with a white screen and will vibrate softly, then will shut down. If the phone is connected to the computer, it will be recognised, then will stop partnering with the computer.
I have no idea what to do anymore I want to flash my phone but I have no idea what to do. I've been at this doing research and trying to find a way to fix it for almost 4+ hours now and honestly I'm going to just collapse.
    Somebody, anybody, please help.

It's not possible to install old firmware yourself.
The best thing to do to solve this is to take your phone to a nokia care point and ask them to fully flash it.
If after they have done this it still doesn't work then they may offer you an older version.

I have a Nokia 6085 and the screen does't work. I need a shorcut to set the profile from silent to normal in order to hear the ringing when someone calls me. Is there any way - with pressing numbers keys for example?

Holding down the # key when the phone is at the home screen usually toggles between silent and general on most models.
For future reference please only ask your question once and wait patiently for someone to answer.

  • Nokia 6085 answering problem

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes.
I keep my Nokia 6085 in a belt holster, as I often don't hear it ring when it's in my pocket. Until yesterday, this worked fine and I was able to use my phone normally. Since yesterday morning though, every time my phone rings and I go to take it out of the holster, the phone rejects the call as soon as I touch it (even if I am careful not to touch or bump the external buttons, or if I have the keypad locked manually).
At the moment it's only a minor inconvenience, as the caller then gets taken to voice mail and I can still get their requests, but we're coming up to a very busy time of year when I will receive a lot of urgent requests for help (I'm the primary IT Support person in a large school). I'm hoping that someone may have some advice for me on this matter. The phone is less than a year old, so I really hope that it is not a hardware malfunction.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

is this happening to u after u had started keeping handset in belt holder, or u were earlier also using the same belt holder & problem has started now. because some times the magnetic field of the magnets are this much strong that they start interfering with the signals of mobile and then whenever u will get a call and when u will open the flap of the belt holder the magnetic disturbance will disconnect ur call. the same has happened to me when i bought a new holder and then i got the holder replaced.

  • 6085 Screen Flickering

    Hi,
I own a Nokia 6085, and one day the screen started randomly flickering every 5 seconds. I've switched the phone off and on of course, and left the battery out for a long period of time.
There has been no damage done to the phone whatsoever.
    Any help greatly appreciated
    thanks,
    cam

My phone recently started doing this as well. I replaced the front cover on the phone (the piece with the display), and now it blinks blue occasionally, and will not show startup animations. It also does not show the brighter LED time when the phone is closed (you know how it sometimes shines the time brighter if the phone has been recently opened). Otherwise the phone works just fine.
From what I have been able to gleen from other forums, this is either a problem with the LCD or the Flexi connector that connects the two halfs of the phone. Also apparently this is a known problem with the phone (the connector).
I am in the process of waiting for a new connector, will let you know how that goes. Thats as much info as you will find. Plus most people in the other forums write, like someone whose first language is elvish.

  • Nokia 5800 [ Screen and phone problems]

I got a problem with my nokia 5800 screen,
sometimes when my brightness is bellow 80% 2-3 flikering lines apear wherever i am ( home screen, watching a video, browser, call someone etc.)
when brightness is at 80%  its normal always( maybe of the high brightness i may not see the lines)
however this is annoying and i want to know if i can do anything about it !
on top of that my phones shuts down suddenly on its own  randomly!
the phone is functioning well running app without any problem and watching videos !
    skype

The 5800 is getting on in years now so it's definitely a hardware issue your facing. Your best bet is to visit a Nokia Care Point and see if it's worth the cost of repair otherwise you'd be better off getting a new phone.

  • IMac Screen Malfunction

I have a 24" iMac which I bought in late 2008 and tonight the screen malfunctioned... has anyone seen this before and is there a solution?

I'm in Sacramento... also, I adusted the screen calibration about a week or so ago - do you think that might have contributed to this?
Doubtful. Well in the Sacramento area you have 2 Apple Stores available and several AASPs to choose from. Get your quote, then you can decide what to do from there.

  • Nokia 6085 its support AVRCP

    Hi.
I do not obtain to control the volume of a Bluetooth Speaker through Nokia 6085.
The control functions in the Midia Player. However it does not function in the Music Player.
The 6085 do not support support AVRCP (Audio/video Remote Control Profile).
Or it would be a problem in firmware of the Music Player.
The Bluetooth Speaker functioned correctly with a Nokia and 50.
    Thanks

Figured it out myself. My bad ... )

  • Nokia Big Screen has Small Resolution

Am using Nokia Phone Broswer 2 together with Nokia Big Screen for HDMI connectio to TV set. This produces low-resolution iamges on the TV screen, as if the phone browser choses a resolution for its own screen and is not aware of the Big Screen.
I suggest Nokia to improve the integration between these 2 apps

It's not possible to use BigScreen to browse the internet on a TV. It currently only supports videos, pictures and music.
    All the best.
