Nokia 610 USB mains charger

Am I able to use my Nokia 610 USB mains charger (Model AC50X, Output DC 5V, 1.3 A) as a charger for my Ipod Classic by connecting the Ipod USB cable to the Nokia charger?

Thanks, having checked the Apple store, they offer a usb mains charger with a 5W output, compatible with all Apple products.  Watts/Volts...I am lost here. I guess I should not attempt to couple my Ipod Classic to the Nokia DC 5V charger...would you agree?

  • Mains Charger for 3rd Gen Nano

I have a USB mains charger that puts out 1A at 5V.
It charges my friends 4th Gen iPod fine, but wont charge my new nano. Does anyone know why this is?
Has the new iPod range been modified to require a sync signal from a computer before it starts to charge, and if so is there anyway around this? (i.e. tying one of the data lines either high or low)

    My charger specs: input 100 - 240V; output: 0.1A, 5V. No problem.

  • Apple Support Quality - Mains Charger Necessary - USB Workaround

    Hi
I've heard that Apple are giving out incorrect advice. For iPod minis 1G that are being reset, when the mains symbol comes up they are advising that a mains charger is necessary - this is not the case - a powered USB port (2.0 definitely, 1.0 I don't know) will usually do the trick if you just pull it out form the USB port a tad.
    ?????

I'm sorry bobbyblue but the Apple knowledgbase article on resetting an iPod mini clearly indicates that you can simply connect it to your computer.
See the instructions at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705 , clearly linked to from the main iPod support page, and specifically dealing with the mini:
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer.
Couldn't be much clearer that connecting your iPod to your computer is a viable option I would have thought!
You use very vague sentences hinting at some sort of misadvice , presumably given by someone (whose identity or role is never specified) at "Apple" (phone support??? , in a document???? at an Apple Store?????) to someone other than yourself (you only say you "have heard" of this apparent misadvice, not that you have experienced it yourself).
Its pretty hard to take heresay at this sort of level all that seriously I'm afraid.
You also seem to be complaining that on the one hand Apple don't say that a charger is necessary and then, on the other, complain that it isn't but they say that it is!
Its pretty hard to make any logical sense of any of this, and its pretty hard to deal with apparently third hand hearsay in any way that is going to be of any use to anyone here I'm afraid, even without the industrial relations and political diversions!

  • Nokia 5800 Mains Charger N-Series

I recently bought a Nokia 5800 Mains Charger N-Series. I plugged it into my phone (a Nokia N73) and it began charging for around 30 seconds.
After this time it stopped charging my phone. I fiddled around with it but it wouldn't begin charging my phone again.
I then tried using the charger on my brother's Nokia phone and the same thing happened. It charged for 30 seconds and then wouldn't start again.
The main issue is that now I cannot charge my phone or my brother's phone at all. I used two different chargers on these phones (both of which worked fine previously) but they won't charge our phones at all.
I would really appreciate some help with this matter since both my phone and my brother's phone are out of action completely. All this from buying a phone charger which was supposed to be compatible with my N73 seems to now have ruined the phone.
    Thanks.

So will your phone and your brothers phone charge using the original charger that came with your phone anymore? If it doesn't than you have probably damaged your phones by using the faulty charger.
If that is the case then I think you already know what the solution. We can only help you with settings and software issues here. Anything else that involves hardware and replacement parts can only be fixed by a Nokia Care Point. As for the charger, you need to take it up with Play.com

your E71 uses micro-usb indeed but that is only for data and not for charging...
E71 uses the nokia 2.0mmsq charger tip such the one you can see from AC-5 for example, if you want a connectivity cable with charger that would be the CA-126, or if you want to charge via USB you will need CA-100

  • Nokia 6288 Mains Charger

I recently purchased a Nokia 6288 whilst in Australia but now wish to purchase a compatible UK Mains Charger now that I am back home. I am looking to purchase a genuine Nokia charger. Does anyone know if the Nokia Travel Charger AC-4X or the Nokia Travel Charger AC-12X are compatible with this phone. What is the difference between these two chargers and are there any voltage issues to be aware of. Many Thanks

    The chargers have different plugs:
    AC-4X -> 2mm
    AC-12X -> 3.5mm
You have Nokia 6288, so you need AC-4X (2mm plug).
Both chargers would handle input voltages from 100-240V.

  • Usb car charger not fully charge Nokia 5800

    Hi,
I have a usb car charger with a cable that has a usb plug on one end, and on the other end
there is a nokia 2.0mm charger plug.
    like this one:
    http://www.myonetwothree.com/items/Electronics/MoAs009/MoAs_2003_22_CarChr/MoAs_2003_22_CarChr_02.jp...
But the problem is that it's not fully charge my Nokia 5800, only about 85%-90%.
Could this charger can fully charge a nokia 5800?
    on the charger itself it's written "DC 5V +- 5%  Max= 1000mA"
    Thank you.

Voltage of the charger needs to be about 5.5 V to fully charge it. There are some car usb chargers which give 5.5 V some which give only 5 V. You need to check them and see if they work properly with your nokia.

  • Nokia E52 USB charging

Is there a way how to turn off USB battery charging during the data transfering via USB cable?
I heard that it is not good for battery to charge it when it's almost fully charged.
    Tnx in advance

Topping up charge should not amage your battery as long as you do not leave it plugged and charging for a long time, like over 24 hours.
There is no setting you can change on the phone to stop the charging.

  • Lumia 800 UK Mains Charger

Anyone else have issues with the white mains charger supplied for the UK. Unlike other mobile chargers its small and completely smooth. Very difficult to grip to remove and an accident waiting to happen in my view as you need to place fingers slightly underneath to pull from socket.
The sides should be indented somehow to aid removal, or design as old Nokia/Samsung micro usb charger.
Like the phone, only had 2 days...some obscure things or items seem not to work correctly, I'll check other posts first before submitting.

    @yern6
Whilst I can see where you are coming from accessibilty for disabled users goes out of the window when designing most compact packaging for shipping. As output is only 5v there is little risk even if you poke your fingers into the USB outlet on the bottom:
Must confess that I tend to use an AC-10X which delivers 1200mA!
Happy to have helped forum with a Support Ratio = 42.5

  • Where can I get a mains charger for my Micropho

    Hi, hope someone can help.
I li've in England and it seems that Creative have discontinued the mains charger/travel adapter. Have read a few posts here which indicate that there might be problems with generic ones. Have found a couple of 'resellers' of branded chargers on amazon, but no official ones.
I have got a powered USB hub, but the player can take up to 7 hours to charge, mains should be much faster.
    Thanks in advance

Embarrassment, I've found the answer! It's in the Creative shop and I've just ordered one.

  • Nano only works via mains charger then freezes when unplugged....

Could use someones wise advice please!
My nano is just over 1yr old, worked fine until recently. I have tried the 5 r's, software is upto date, battery is fully charged, only works via mains charger but when i disconnect it, it freezes with a line through the screen. Connect it to charger, it is fine again.
Via pc usb, the apple logo comes on then it goes black then logo then black screen etc seems it almost boots up but just quite doesnt.
I have found if you hold ccentre button & left scroll button you access an engineers menu, been through all this and it seems fine. Any help would be cool

If the iPod functions normally while plugged into an external power source of some sort (either USB port on your PC or Mac OR while plugged into a wall adapter), but doesn't when running on battery power, it's likely that the iPod's battery is shot.
You can have Apple or a third party repair center replace the battery for a flat fee. Otherwise, it's time to start saving for a new iPod or replacement.

  • Ipod Shuffle 2nd gen - no lights when using mains charger

Am going on hols shortly so bought a mains charger for my shuffle - when I plug it in, the orange light flashes and then goes off - shouldn't it stay on constant orange then turn green when it's charged? it did the same with both mine and my partner's ipod and I know mine needed some charging.

Purchased a generic USB charger today. After connection LED light on ipod flashed thrice (orange) and then LED switched off automatically. Tested the voltage out put through dock pins and compared with another mains charger (Apple certified) which works. Voltage at the two data pins (Top 2) showed +3 V in the charger(that works) but 0 V on the chager which did not work. The other two pin (bottom +ve, next -ve) showed +5 V and 0V respectively on both the charger. My conclusion is that the data pin connections for shuffle might be different for some reason. Any body knows anything about it. In Google I fount one picture which showed that there is a circuit board within the dock. The Dock for Shuffle 2nd Gen is not just a USB to 3.5mm connector.
