Nokia 6103

Whenever the phone is turned on a window marked I with text "Check Info Service" comes up. Is this from the phone or from the network?

It's from the network.
Try the following:
Menu > Messaging > Info Messages > Info Service - Set to off.
If it's already set to off contact your network for help.

  • Sending contacts to Nokia 6103 via bluetooth

    Good morning, everyone!
I'm having some trouble with the bluetooth connection between my MBP (C2D) and my Nokia 6103 telephone. Specifically, I am trying to send the contents of my addressbook from the MBP to the Nokia. However, I'm only able to send one contact at a time and the connection turns off and back on between each contact. I'm presuming (hoping?) that I'm missing something quite obvious.
Can anyone offer some help? (I've posted this same question in the bluetooth area.)
    Thanks!

    Good Evening!
The obvious thing I think you may be missing is iSync.
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/
Open the Bluetooth preferences pane, click the Devices tab, then click the 'Setup new device..." button, then follow the instructions.
iSync will handle the synchronisation of Contacts and Calendars between your phone and Mac. Its not necessary to do it manually from Address Book.

  • New Sim on Nokia 6103 - will i lose my messages?

I'm planning on buying a contract Sim for my old Nokia 6103, but I don't want to lose my messages. I read on here that messages are usually saved onto the phone memory, not sim, but I don't know how to find out if they are saved on my phone or sim card (I'm not good with technology)
Help? The new sim is a Tesco one, current sim is T-Mobile, if that makes any difference. Also, if i need to unlock my phone to allow the new sim, does that delete stuff?
    ~Callie

one simple way to find out is to remove the sim card then see if messages are still there ,you will need to get the phone unlocked to insert new sim ,if you bought the phone from t mobile and have had it for a certain period of time they can give you the unlock code
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Nokia 6103 - Exiting from Text Editor

I have just got a Nokia 6103 and am very happy with it (much better interface than my old Motorola), but I have a problem with Text messages.
I create a text message and send it OK. I would then expect to be taken back to the main menu or message menu, but this phone takes me BACK into the Text editor, editing the message I've just sent. I then have to do Options => Exit Editor to get out. THEN it saves my message to my 'saved messages' folder, but of course I don't want it there as there is already a copy in my 'Sent Items'.
Can anyone tell me how I configure my phone to automatically exit the Text editor after sending a text message ?

You cannot set the phone to close the editor after sending a message.
What works is once selected "Send" and it starts sending just press the red phone and it will quit to the main screen and send your message in the background. Shortly afterwards it should tell you Message Sent (or failed), but you can use your phone in the meantime.

  • Nokia 6103 Imaging

I posted a request regarding imaging on a Nokia 6103 earlier - how to rotate a picture, and have not got a reply yet - doesn't anyone know how to do this?? Please help, I was told it was easy. Maybe I am stupid.

The 6103 does not have a external memory card interface and relies on a tiny amount of internal memory, so downloading music and pics is a bad idea.

  • Nokia 6103 network search problem.

My Nokia 6103, code 0533562, ver. v04.61, 08-02-06 RM-161 suddenly stopped finding network may 12 with it's present SIM card. Existing SIM card works in all other mobile phones and my Nokia 6103 works with all other SIM cards except the present one. The phone intermittently informs "Check information services". The mobile operator says it must be the need for an update of the phone software that is needed, according to the Nokia update search no such update is available for this model. Anybody else experience this problem and have some clues to it's solution?

  • Nokia 6103 Bluetooth

    Recentlly my Bluetooth stopped working.
When I go under Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth it's listed as active (On) but I am unable to use it, if I try to activate it or deactivate it, it remains on status On and I can not change it.
There is no Bluetooth icon to indicate that its working or active.
When I try to Search for audio enhancements it asks me to enabel Bluetooth, which I do, but it never works.
Tried to restore to factory settings, but without any success.
Any ideas or help is welcome, so thanks in advance.

I have yet to get a 6103 to actually wipe itself completely. I get random flakiness with the units I have, but usually a quick power cycle will do the trick. (I pair with a N800 and sometimes it's difficult to decide *which* one needs the power cycle. )
Does the unit show up at all in scans from, say, a PC or a Palm if it is set to discoverable? That should tell you if the radio is at least there.

  • Nokia 6103 connecting

Do you need isync for a cell to connect to the mac.. OSX10.3
I am curious before I buy a cable to connect it, does it just come up on the desktop like a harddrive for me to drop things in and take things off it? or do I need it to run through isync for it to work at all?
if so I am screwed cuz isync 1.x doesn't support my phone. and I really doubt apple will bother with older OS's.
So unless there is a solution to that, other than upgrade my OS etc.
    Important!!!
I am just curious about what happens when I connect the Nokia phone to my computer through USB. if it will recognize it, and if I can take the pictures off it and download new ones onto it without isync.
    Thanks.

iSync has nothing at all to do with transferring files to and from mobile phones. It is for syncing Address Book contacts and iCal events and to dos.
Have you tried sending files via Bluetooth?

  • New Nokia 6085 problem, is it faulty

Hi, i've just bought a Nokia 6085, i would like to change the colour of the background and fonts as i don't like wallpapers or themes, these are all possible with the phone i bought my dad, the Nokia 6103, can this be done with the 6085.
I thought the 6085 was a better fone but the pictures it takes are awful compared to the 6103 and most of the cheapest phones available, even with the maximum resolution set etc.
Is this because of a fawlty camera? as i read a review of the 6085 on the net which shows the pictures it took in the test which all seem ten times better then mine even thought they said the camera wasn't very good.
It seems like my pictures are set at a very low resolution even thought i've set it at 640 by 480 and high quailty etc.
Do you think it has a faulty camera or a poor lens, pictures bluetoothed to my phone are far better, any help or advice would be much appreciated

it normally lets you put time in scroll to right to the am or pm or manually input time

  • 6103 block a number?

There's a Nokia 6103 here and I'd like to be able to block a certain number from calling it. Is there any way that can be done? I've looked around and my suspicion is that there isn't but if anyone knows differently it would save me a whole load of hassle.

You can download applications that will do just that for the S60 phones but unfortunately the 6103 is only an S40 phone. What you could do is to set up a contact group for this number and allocate it with a "silent" ringtone.

  • 3109 can't connect to PC Suite

I am on my third 3109 and have always used PC Suite, no problems with the others.  The latest one I have named the same (bluetooth) as before and set to visible.  I have connected it and paired to my laptop, as I always do.  Then when I search for devices in PC Suite - I see 2 phones called silvercue.  One says it needs to be connected, but is greyed out and the other says it needs to be connected and authorised and is greyed out.
I have restarted the phone and PC Suite - always the same.  I can't connect, when the phone is, or is not connected to the laptop.
What is wrong?  This is the same process I have always used with identical handsets and always used the same phone name with no issues.
    Thanks in advance.
PS - I did search, but could see the answer.

    Hi,
I have some problems with the connection but in this moment, I am working "well".
First: Please use the Driver included in the CD with the Original Cable. Not use the driver downloaded from the site.
Second: When you connect the cable in the phone, you will received a error message, ignore it, wait near one minut and you see a message "Nokia 6103 is connected" in your PC
Third: To disconnect the phone, first go to "Admin Conecctions" in the Nokia PC Suite and unheck "Serial Cable (CA-42)", when you received a message of desconnectio, you can unplug the cable from the phone.
    Bye.
    EDUARDO.

  • IWeb Mini Sites!

Due to the fact that I have far too much time on my hands and that I have just got a new mobile phone, I thought that it would be fun to create a iWeb Mini Site!
My site is designed for my phone, a Nokia 6103, at a width of 120 pixels, no left-right scrolling here! (I got the T-Mobile $5.99 unlimited Internet package)
You can view the site through Safari if you really want, but its just for fun and I am open to suggestions, or build your own, its easy. If you use a Blackberry, use the html browser!
To make getting to it easy, I found a free host and created a short name and tweaked the index file so that it acts as a redirect to my .mac account.
Well enough suspense the url is: http://iwebwap.50webs.com
    Will

Will, you crack me up! Great job on the WAP-compatible site. I'm going to have to look into that $5.99 unlimited plan at T-mobile if we're all going to start making these mini-sites with iWeb. haha.
And I'm this week's Big Mover! Ha! I love it!
