Nokia 6111 infrared problems

I bought a new Nokia 6111 phone yesterday and I cannot get it connected to my PC's infrared port or Nokia PC Suite. I am running XP Pro with a USB connected IR port. When I activate the IR port on the phone, the PC does not see it at all. I have reduced the speed of the IR port on the PC to 115200, but it makes no difference. The IR port on the phone works - it can communicate with another phone. Can you help please? :-(

Do you still have the plastic on the screen if its new? sometimes it covers the ear piece and blocks sound. happened to me on my sony v600i. if not. get bthe speaker looked at in a service centre. maybe be volume control too. turn all volumes up to maximum during a call and loud speaker if you have one. see if that helps. hope so.

Nokia 6111 - big problem!

had my nokia 6111 for a few weeks, no problems, till now! got a message on screen saying 'sim registration failed' and the phone will not work. i've checked the sim in other phones and its fine and i bought the phone sim free so it shouldnt be a problem. can any one hel before i send it back to nokia as i love this phone! thanks x

I do have a big problem with the phone too. It often turn on and off by itself. Right now I can't open the Inbox Folder. It happened when I received an SMS three days ago. In left top of the screen there's a closed envelope icon showing that a new unread msg in my inbox folder. When I open the folder, the phone, the screen became blank (baklit is off) and it on seconds later. Till now, I can't open my inbox. Is there any solution for this. This is a second unit after the first one have the exact problem.

Nokia 6111 Charging Problem

I have the Nokia 6111 and have not had any of the other problems that users have had. However, I am confused with my latest charging problem which I think may be the phone and not the charger. The phone shows as charging, and then battery full, but when I disconnect from the charger, there is no charge on the phone and the charge is still low. On one occasion when I connected the charger the phone said battery full and on disconnecting again I got the low battery warning. Strange. On another occasion the battery would not charge unless the phone was upright. Anyone else had this problem and/or know if the problem is the phone, battery or the charger?

Try a friends charger first.
Also try an alternative battery.
This will show what the issue is.
You may have to book the handset into a NSC for the power management to be looked at.

Nokia 6111 picture problem

Hi i got the settings for my wap and media off the o2 site , i then tried to send a wallpaper to another phone and i thought it had worked but it never sent and the little blue sending logo at the top of my phone keeps going around as if to say still sending but this has been going on for a day now . does anyone know what to do or how to sort this out ?

Nokia 6111 message problem

Hi , i tried sending a media message and i has not said sent or failed in over 3 days just the little blue sending icon which appears at the top of the phone , i've laso found out that i'm not recieving messages or able to send them successfully , is there anything i can do to sort this out or is there a way to reset the phone , anything ???
i've tried setting being sent and looking in the manual and nothings helped.

is it just mms that does this or is it sms also?
are you able to browse the internet on your phone?
righ now it looks like you are missing some of the settings on your phone, are you on vodafone by any chance?

Problem concerning Nokia 6111 - Contacts

Let me first explain my situation: I have a Nokia 6111 and a couple of days ago I had a small accident with it. My phone took a swim in the swimming pool…
Now, after some hours of drying, I decided to give it a shot. Miraculously, my phone worked. I can scroll through the menus, receive calls, etc. Only one problem remains: my screen is totally broken. I can’t see anything except for the blur caused by the water.
The big problem now is: There are still contacts in my phone, which are not yet on my SIM card. So I was thinking: I copy all my numbers from my phone’s memory onto my SIM card and I buy a new phone.
Problem is that I can see only – let’s give it a percentage: 10% of my screen -. The rest is one big stain caused by the water. So therefore my question: Does anyone here on the board have a transcript of the NOKIA 6111 menus? Or does anyone have the same phone? That way I can copy my numbers onto my SIM card by just clicking without seeing the menus.
I know this can be rather confusing so I give an example. I’m looking for something like this:
Menu => Contacts => Names
=> Settings
=> Groups
=> Copy Contacts => From Phone to SIM
=> From SIM to Phone
=> Delete Contacts
=> Settings
=> Messages
That way, I can try to copy my contacts without seeing the screen. If somebody would be so nice to make a little transcript of the Nokia 6111 menu (or give a link to it, because I can’t seem to find it), it would be a great help.

I have a problem with copying contacts. I connected 6300 with my PC Suite 7.1 via USB. Then I went to Comunication Center. It wrote: reading contacts... Then telephone wrote: Data transmission is impossible.

RECENTLY BOUGHT AN UNLOCKED NOKIA 6111, IT WORKS GREAT AND I CHANGED THE SETTINGS TO 02 AS I'M ON THAT NETWORK BUT I CANNOT GET ON THE WAP INTERNET AS IT KEEPS SAYING SUBSCRIBE TO PACKET DATA AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS AT ALL ? CAN ANY ONE HELP ?
ALSO IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET THE THEMES OFF THE PHONE OR DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE ONE ?

You have to contact O2 and get them to send you the configuration settings as a configuration message which you can then save onto your phone.

How sync Ical in a nokia 6111 ?

I work in a mac book with Ical and Isync the latest, I have a problem to synchronize my calendar on my nokia 6111. My contacts were well synchronise but my calendar never work when I synchronise them, I can't see what I write on my calendar phone on my mac and the contrary I can't see what I write on my calendar mac on my phone.

Go to your calendar on icloud.com from your computer, then add a test event on both your iPhone calendar and your iPad calendar. Do they both appear on icloud.com? If not, which one doesn't appear?

Nokia 6111, dont know how to connect, Please Help

Ive just got a Nokia 6111, and have downloaded the PC Suite, what do I need to do to get a connection between my pc and phone, Bluetooth and Infrared wont work ( i dont think Ive got the thing on my pc to use them??) My pc is 5 years old, but it runs total broadband ok, so dont know if its that. Do I need to buy some sort of cable to connect them?
Please, any help/recommendations would be gratefully accepted.

Nokia 6111 camera flash wont turn off

Hello, can someone help, ive got a nokia 6111 and the flash wont turn off. I've went into the camera function and turned the flash off but its still on! its very annoying can someone help?

Nokia 6111 Bluetooth File Transfer to XDA

I've just got a Nokia 6111 and thought it would be neat to take a photo and transfer it via Bluetooth to my XDA.
I paired the devices no problem.
When it came to sending the photo I went to
Menu>Gallery>Images>Options>Send>Via Bluetooth
It searches for devices and duly finds my XDA
When I press Select it says Connecting to XDA and then "Bluetooth Connection Failed".
My XDA is set to discoverable mode and I really don't see any other settings on there.
The 6111 is set to connect without asking for confirmation, but even when I force it to ask for confirmation of the connection, it still says "Bluetooth Connection Failed" without ever prompting for any sort of communication.
Has anyone come across this and solved it ?

well, im nt sure if this will be a good solution, but it mite be that theres not enough space on your XDA.
That happened to me yesterday, i was sending a song and it didn't work-'connection failed', i deleted one of the songs, and it went on. As i said, it mite not work, but its worth a try.

Setting my fone to read only nokia 6111

iv transferred a song via bluetooth 2 my nokia 6111 n now i want 2 delete it as its taking up alot of memory, however my fone wont let me delete it. Iv got in contact wit the maker of my bluetooth device n they said i need 2 get in contact wit nokia as my fone isnt set 2 read only, which means i cant delete or modify things i put on my fone. Ne ideas how to set my fone 2 read only??!!! x x

Each class normally does have a method "FREE" named "Destroy"
Normally it should be enough to clear the object reference.
if it's still not working, try to copy your report and eliminate all stuff that has nothing to do with this problem. if you do not find the error then, pls post this coding.

Wallpaper on nokia 6111

Hi there
I have just got the nokia 6111, which is a great phone, but everytime I turn off the phone the wallpaper disappears and have to install it again. Anyone know how to get the wallpaper to remain.

I have also bought 6111 a week back and the problem is when i put the sim card correcly it says that the sim card has not been inserted. Everytime i put it back i get the same answer and no details is given in the manual. Another message comes saying whether to operate the mobile without sim card and either to accept or reject it, this detail also is not given in the manual, it also starts flickering at intervals Can you please help me on this and I really feel frustated i bought this model since there are so many complaints about this model

Nokia 6111 fault

Does anybody else have the same problem with their Nokia 6111.
My handset turns itself off and then back on again, usually whilst sending either text or bluetooth. However, it can also happen at any other time.
I am connected to the orange network?

I will suggest that you visit a Nokia Service Point, you can find the nearest one to you at www.nokia.com/repair.
The engineers there will be able to take a look at your phone and let you nkow what needs to be done to fix it.
If they advise you it cannot be done under warranty they will be able to tell you exactly what is wrong with the phone and how you go about getting it fixed.
