Nokia 6120 Problem after v4.21 installation

I recently installed the v4.21 software update to my Nokia 6120 and have now found every option or mention clicked completly lags. The screen haults, shows a bit of my wallpaper and then slowly goes the object clicked. How can this be fixed? It occured only after I updated the software on the phone.
Thank you

i also had problems after installing this update, however it was two days later! display problems also, but mine went to vertical multicoloured stripes, no information on display at all. phone worked OK for a while but now won't even turn on.
tried reinstalling v4.21, removing and reinstalling battery and SIM, however nothing helps.
can someone assist please?

  • Desktop problems after Snow Leopard Installation

After a successful installation of Snow Leopard I am having problems with my Desktop. No matter what Desktop graphic I choose, after 2-3 minutes the Desktop goes back to a plain blue background. Any idea what is causing this? and how to fix it?

    Hmm,
I was not familiar with EarthDesk but now that I know about it - I conjecture that application runs in the background, right?
If it does run in the background - then that is the real base of the problem installing Snow Leopard. Others with (other) apps running in the background have experienced repeated run-then-eject-installer problems. One person reported that CarbonCopyCloner's scheduling app caused this specific problem.
Now, I understand that the desktop problem isn't the same as having the installer begin to run, then stop and eject the installer disk. My point is only that apps running in the background are apparently causing (now various) problems with the SL installer.
Glad to see that one more problem has been solved.

  • Nokia 6120c problem after FirmWare update

    Hallo!
I've found a serious bug in new firmware v4.21 for my phone 6120 classic. Adapter AD-44, which has been working normally before phone update, doesn't respond when I took an incoming call - phone doesn't response for microphone signals and buttons; a caller listen sizzle only.
The Russian T9 has bugs too.

  • Problems after iTunes 9 installation

I have got several problems after the iTunes 9 upgrade:
    - all browser I use (IE8, Firefox, Safari) crash once I try to see any of the tutorials on www.apple.com, IE8 says "An error occured inside a plug-in contained in this page.", Firefox restarts, Safari just crashes
    - once I connect my iPod touch to iTunes 9, it offers me upgrade to 3.1.1 OS, after extracting, it quits with information "The iPod could not be updated. An uknown error occured (3001)".
    - my Apple TV doesn't show up in iTunes 9 (other devices connected to intranet are visible, iPod connects with Apple TV without any problem via the Remote programm)
    Does anyone has similar experience?
    Thank you in advance

The problem where Genius says, "Genius results can't be updated right now. The required file cannot be found." is related to BranchCache.
    Disable BranchCache and try again.
You can find a bit more on BranchCache here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637820%28WS.10%29.aspx
You can disable it from an administrative command prompt with "netsh branchcache set service mode=DISABLED."

  • Problem after firmware re installation on c6-00

i had re installed my firmware v40 on my c6-00. before re installing  i had Qt,Qt mobility and Qt web but now after re installing its missing. how do i get it back?

Weird, I had similar problem with v20 before 4-5 months ago. I reinstalled my phone over OVI Suite and after it finished I had no Adobe reader, Quick office, Font magnifier, Traveler and none of the widgets that usualy come with it. After that, I did hard reset and REINSTALLED it again over NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER and it came back, all the apps I had. Now with v40 I haven't come across such problem.
I think it is something connected with flashing of Phone and FW packages from Nokia's servers. All the troubles with apps after flash on NEW SYMBIANS that got ANNA reminded me of my problem and yours you now have.

  • Nokia 5233 problem after a small V51.1.002 update

the new version of the browser makes my mobile running slow when i open the app.The application consumes more RAM.My mobile is not responding properly the way it use to.if can, make a new update.

    Hi Ellyin,
Thank you for your first post and a warm welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
So just to clarify since you updated your internet browser, whenever you open this application its runs a lot slower?
There are a couple of things you can try. Firstly try clearing the cache. To do this  select Options > Other options > Clear the cache.
Also you can try a soft reset (Please remember to back up your phone) by typing *#7780# and then giving it a try. If not then you could try a hard reset by typing *#7370# (Please remember to back up your phone first!!!)
Furthermore you could also make sure your firmware for the phone is the latest. You can check this by connecting your phone to Ovi suite and checking the phone is on the latest update.
Hopefully one of the above solutions should get you browsing happily again!
Let me know if any of the above helps.
    Regards

  • [SOLVED] Problems after upgrades and installations

I installed some packages today and did an upgrade. Now certain of my daemons are not starting on boot and I have to start them manually. I tried downgrading the kernel but that didn't help.
    Here's my daemons line in /etc/rc.conf -
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng dbus gdm network @ntpd netfs crond dbus hal fam slim sensors mysqld mythbackend motion @monitorix @alsa @sshd samba @cupsd @cpufreq lircd @httpd !ddclient monitd)
I haven't checked all of them but monitorix, lircd and httpd all have to be started manually. Something odd has also happened with lirc. irexec doesn't seem to be starting from its startup script. Once I start it manually and do an irw, only the remote's up, down, left and right keys are recognised (and give strange ascii symbolic output to irw) while the other keys don't seem reognised at all.

I know I should have upgraded before installing the new packages but I'd be surprised if that was the cause of the problem.
Any help or pointers would be very much appreciated.

Things have gone from bad to worse -
I edited the Daemons line which now looks like this -
    DAEMONS=(dbus syslog-ng !gdm network @ntpd netfs crond !hal fam slim sensors mysqld mythbackend @motion @monitorix @alsa @sshd samba @cupsd @cpufreq lircd @httpd !ddclient @monitd)
I also upgraded the kernel (after downgrading before) with a pacman -Suy which also installed some new xorg packages.

Now I seem to be getting a lower level problem. After grub the system is now giving me a message that it can't find or mount the root partition. I'm also getting this message when trying to boot my fallback root partition (cloned about a week ago) but can succesfully boot my previous fallback root partition (cloned about 6 months ago). (All on the same hdd). Very strange and a real bugger. Things were working beautifully up until those really-pretty-minor upgrades this morning.
Re some of the specific items referred to above -
    Merging pacnew files-
I went through them all again but all looks good. I don't delete the pacnew's. I keep them and comment where I have made changes in the in-use files. BTW I use meld with this excellent command (as su) to compare my files vs the pacnew's.
for file in $(find /etc -name '*.pacnew'); do meld ${file/.pacnew/} $file; done
    Re lirc -
This is the post I was referring to. My dvb-tuner cards are recognised as IR devices as well and I think the order of loading was random, hence requiring all of those lines.
It is working fine in the 6-month old fallback partition I am currently booted into.
I know there are separate threads about the unable-to-mount-root-partition issue as I've had that problem in the past, so back to those it seems.
If anybody has some brainwaves to help me in the meantime I'd really appreciate it.  I have made a lot of changes since my fallback partitions and would love to boot my latest root partition have it working normally.
    Thanks

  • Startup Problems After Pro Tools Installation

    Hi There,
I have a Macbook Pro and just installed Pro Tools 7.3 and the 7.4.2 Mac update. As soon as the update finished, it prompted for a restart. Upon the restart, an opaque gray screen appeared with a message that stated 'You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button.' I did this, and the same thing has happened each time. I can never get past the initial apple screen during startup. This has never happened prior to my installation and update of Pro Tools 7.4.2.
Any ideas? I'm dying to start working with Pro Tools/Continue using my brand new MacBook Pro.
    Thanks!
    -Devin

Hi and welcome to the discussions, You may need to repair your startup disk. Boot from your install disc and hold "C" down after you hear the tone and release when you see the Apple logo. Choose your language. Then when the install window opens, choose "Utilities>Disk Utility" from the menu bar. Select the startup volume"MacintoshHD" and click Repair Disk in the lower left after its finished, repair permissions then restart.
Hope that cures your Prob, Glynn

  • Password and audio problems after a fresh installation

I installed arch i686 on a friend's toshiba laptop. Now I list the problems I encountered:
    1) - First of all, at the beginning of the installation process, i set a simple root password, a classic "123". Now when my friend wants to set his personal root password through the command "passwd", it requries at least 8 characters. Now my friend set an 8 characters password but he wants to set a password with only 4 charcaters.... How can he do?
    2) - Evolution asks the old root password (the "123"), even if my friend changed it with a new 8 characters password.
    3) - The audio seems to work fine but when he opens skype all is muted (even with alsamixer controls at hightest volume). Also if he closes skype the audio remains stll silent. So he needs to reboot to restore the normal situation.
If someone can interest here there is the result of lsmod|grep '^snd' command:
    snd_seq_oss 29696 0
    snd_seq_midi_event 6004 1 snd_seq_oss
    snd_seq 47856 4 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi_event
    snd_seq_device 6016 2 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq
    snd_pcsp 9228 0
    snd_pcm_oss 36832 0
    snd_mixer_oss 14132 1 snd_pcm_oss
    snd_intel8x0 28080 1
    snd_intel8x0m 13088 0
    snd_ac97_codec 96696 2 snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m
    snd_pcm 66936 5 snd_pcsp,snd_pcm_oss,snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m,snd_ac97_codec
    snd_timer 19132 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
    snd 51108 13 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcsp,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm,snd_timer
    snd_page_alloc 8124 3 snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m,snd_pcm

    1) just type it twice, "12341234". however, you should really set a proper root password instead and do daily work as a regular user with sudo access
    2) maybe evolution isn't asking for root but for the gnome-keyring password, which you might have set to 123 earlier too?
    3) sorry i don't use or skype or alsa

  • Nokia C3 Problems after update to v 07.20

I have updated my C3 and found:
1 Most of .jar software not working, including google maps, games etc
2 Sync with server for back up contacts etc. now not working
    Please help
    arshadMEHMOOD

As far as I know Google Maps are not compatible with C3? But the Google Maps site offers an alternate download option which also warns that it may not work properly. So most probably your particular Google Maps concern have nothing to do with the Firmware upgrade. My 2 cents ...
