Nokia 6126

the book that came with nokia 6126 says is compatible with i tunes. When I connect with USB cable or bluetooth, itunes doesn't show the phone in the window. I want my tunes on my phone - I tricked isync into finding it, using a trick on discussion forum for isync. What do I do?
Thanks

  • ISync OS 10.5x Support for Nokia 6126?

Has anyone been successful syncing a Nokia 6126 with OS 10.5, either Bluetooth or USB?
    Thanks.

I know this was asked a long time ago, but I wanted to let you know that I just got a Nokia 6126 and it syncs with OS X 10.5.1 over Bluetooth perfectly.

  • NBU Files - Nokia 6126

This may sound like an odd request, but does anyone have a NBU file or can make an NBU file for a Nokia 6126 with it's menu setting as tabbed that I could get from you to try and fix my phone. Obviously make sure the backup file doesn't have any personal info backed up in it as well such as messages and contacts. The problem, for those are interested, is this..... Awhile back I was trying to clean up a bunch of little extra stuff on my phone. In the bookmarks folder there was a bookmark called AT&T Mall which I deleted and upon returning to my menu, my phone rebooted. I thought it was a fluke so I went back into my menu (tabs setting), I scrolled to the side and it did the same thing. I then remembered that the AT&T Mall was also a menu item. Upon deleting the bookmark, when the menu now tries to populate it's looking for that link and hangs up. I know this sounds odd but this really is the problem. I've taken my phone to the AT&T store, where they did a soft reset. Now my menu has gone back to the grid setting (where it shows all the menu items at once) and my menu just comes up blank and freezes. I close the lid on my phone and it goes back to the main screen, and then if i hit menu a second time it will reboot. So now.....AT&T said they can't help me and it's Nokia issue at this point, even though it was their software causing the problem. And since I have now passed my 1 year warranty, sending the phone back to Nokia to have them flash it would cost the same as a new phone. Using a NBU file with the menu settings as tabbed (which are in the NBU file) would allow me back into my menu to where i could put the AT&T mall icon at the end of the tabbed menu line and actually be able to use the rest of my phone. It functions the same besides that, I just want in my menu! Or is there a way to change settings from the main screen? Unfortunately none of my shortcut keys are setup to any phone settings.... Some might not believe this is really the issue, as in something else is going on, but I believe it's as simple as that. I will repost if that solves the issue.
    Thanks in advance, Ronny B

I have exactly the same issue! Was cleaning up the phone, deleted AT&T MALL, menu freezes, etc. A .nbu file , as described above, would be greatly appreciated.
Of course I'm also open to any other solution anyone might come up with I have done soft resets, and reset by taking out battery+card, and attempted to update the software(my 5126 seems to be not supported by the updater) to no avail. I have made backups.
[Ronny, a temporary work-around I have found that I can use to access some phone features is by adding different functions via the Go To menu ( go to -> options -> select options ). ]
    Thanks!

  • Moving Music from Macbook Pro to Nokia

I was wondering - I just got a Nokia 6126 that plays music. If I got a MicroSD card, using Bluetooth, would the card just mount on my desktop and I would then be able to copy music to it.

If you get a microSD card, you need the card reader. They're fairly inexpensive and you can get one on amazon.com if you like. I have an LG phone and it works fine with mine. I suggest one by iogear. I have the Iogear GFR201TF USB 2.0 Pocket Memory Card Reader/Writer which is specifically for mobile phones. It didn't work for me right away, I had to plug it in a few times before it recognized, but it works fine now.
With the card reader, it would show up on your desktop and you could copy music to it (and pictures as well).

  • In Europe can't get 6126 to dial out

I unlocked my Nokia 6126 using AT&T instructions. Now I'm using a United Mobile international sim card. Every time I think I'm dialing out, I'm actually sending a text message. If I write a text, it works and gets to the person I want it to. But I can't figure out how to make a phone call. I ran through a prepaid sim card quick trying to call out and never have accomplished it. I've spoken with the sim card customer service folks and they say it's the phone. There's got to be somewhere within the menu where I can dial out, in other words make a phone call. I'm in rural Sweden if it makes a difference and my sim card is Liechtenstein. I am getting a strong signal. Help!

I think your phone is malfunctioning. Please have it fixed or replaced by a Nokia service agent.

  • Switching to AT&T Cingular - best phone for use with Mac and iSync

    Dear Friends,
I am finally about to be free from Sprint's poor customer service. I will be switching to AT&T / Cingular. (Not quite ready to buy an iPhone, but don't want to be locked into a 2 year contract with another provider).
I want to use Apple's iSync. I have reviewed the list of compatible devices and scanned the forums for related topics.
    I'm still left wondering:
What is the best phone to get with AT&T for use with iSync?
I would like to sync contacts both ways. If possible, syncing cal events and to-dos would be nice, but not as important as contacts.
I prefer small flip phones. I don't plan to buy the Media pack service that includes text, web, etc. Instead, I will use the phone for calls and occassional text messages.
Sound quality and the ease of use are the most important features for me. I prefer raised keys to the flat keypads, but could give on this if need be.
Finally, using the phone as a modem with my laptop would be nice, but is not essential.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer.
    David

I am facing the exact same question regarding, e.g., the Nokia 6126. There are several references:
    1. Go to the Nova Media web site and look at their new product, Fone Link. Or their iSynch Plugins
    2. One of the forum threads references, http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060915154526806
    3. Another link I found http://soapbox.co.nz/past/2007/4/9/nokia-6126-and-isync-revisited/
But what I don't yet understand is whether or not any of these suggestions/solutions are affected by the carrier. My understanding is that the 6126 is the North America Version of the 6131. But I talked to ATT/Cingular support yesterday and they make some modifications to the phone software. They don't know if the ATT 6126 will synch with a Mac. Of course they know the answer if synching with a PC (!!)

  • Cable, seems to be stuck in step 2?

I purchased a CA-53 CA53 USB DATA CABLE and driver.  The driver seemed to install perfectly and I can open the PC Suite main options center.  I have tried several times unsuccessfully to connect my Nokia (6126) to the computer using the data cable to no avail.  The "Connect Cable" instruction page (which reads "Please connect your cable to the computer and the mobile device to the cable") goes nowhere after 40 minutes of connection.  I read under "Help" that the drivers need to install during this first connection (correct?) but the hourglass keeps running and "NEXT" never becomes clickable.  Any ideas?  Am I missing the obvious?

    Try this:
    1.  Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and check if Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and PC Connectivity Solutions are installed.
    2.  Without starting PC Suite first, connect your phone via USB cable.
    3.  Wait for Windows Hardware Wizard or maybe start it from Control Panel, Add Hardware.  Point it to install from "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver".  This is where PC Suite installs the cable drivers.
Did this after upgrading to PC Suite to v7.1.18.0.  It seems the installer did not automatically patch this part.

  • Stopwatch & Countdown timer

Hi, can anyone tell me where I can find a good stopwatch & countdown timer application for my N81? I'm looking for something which I could use for sport and I prefer it to be free
Click on the Kudos Star, if you find my post helpful!

I don't think that a few bucks is too unreasonable for this timer app.  I've tried quite a few other ones that are free and those free ones really suck compared to Best Timer.
As for why S60 phones don't have one built-in?  I can only speculate, but I don't use my timer that often.  I had a Nokia 6126 before that has a built in timer and I used it as a poker timer.  On my N97, I use the Best Timer for a while until I found a poker timer app.  I think that for most people who want a timer, they can search on the internet or app store to choose one amongst many that they like.  For the rest, they probably can do with one less app that just takes up space in their app folder.  Depending on your needs, a **bleep** timer that is free may work for you.  If you want something more sophisticated, you can get a good one which may cost you a few bucks.  I don't think that most people really need a timer as sophisticated as Best Timer.

  • How to install an iSync Plugin

I have a Nokia 6126 and have located one or more plugins for this phone. But even after following the instructions for installing the plugin, iSync continues to complain that this phone is not supported. I have tried both
    1. installing the plugin in a folder, phoneplugins, in the system library (I had to create that folder - it did not exist)
    2. Adding the 6126 plugin folder into the plugins folder in the isync package.
and neither causes isynch to recognize the 6126 as a supported phone.
does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Try putting the folder into the Library folder of the hard drive or put the folder in the User/Library folder, not the System Library folder.

  • PIN on a 8700c? Can't get to first base with my new but ancient Blackberry.

I have a pay-as-you-go account from Telmex (in Mexico) which I use very infrequently. However, on the rare instances that I have to reply to a text message, I find using a numeric pad really tedious. I had read that Blackberries have a physically usable keyboard, even for people with larger hands, so I found on ebay a Cingular Electron 8700c for $30. My problem is that when I put in my Telmex SIM, it requested my password. I tried a few times, all failing. It is now up to an ominous attempt labelled 4/6. I bought the phone from a serious ebay vender with a rare 100% positive feedback, and he claimed it was unlocked from Cingular, and that is most likely true. When I first got my SIM from Telmex and put it in my Nokia 6126, which is also an unlocked Cingular phone, it did not request a password, and functioned from the get-go.  So I have the following questions:
    1) If I fail to get the right password on the sixth attempt, will the Blackberry explode and level my apartment?
    2) Is this password located on my Telmex SIM chip or on the wired telephone memory?
    3) Any recommendations how to solve this problem?
For anyone kind enough to help, please remember that I am a total Blackberry **bleep** and reply accordingly.  I did however download the pdf manual for this model.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should be able to disable the password on the device if you want. If it doesn't allow you to disable the password and/or there is a small lock on it not allowing you to disable it then you likely have a device that was connected to a corporate server and has a leftover IT policy on it.

  • 10.5.4 update broke iSync -- I can't even launch it!

I just installed the 10.5.4 update on my MacBook. The install seemed to go fine. After it rebooted, I tried to sync my calendars and to-dos between my MacBook and my Nokia 6126 (via Bluetooth) using iSync. (I have been using this setup for months without a hitch.)
The sync began, and then threw up a bunch of notices regarding items that were different on both the phone and the Mac, and asked which copy I wanted to use. I selected the appropriate copy for each case. Once I cleared these notices, nothing else happened. My phone never lit up (indicating a Bluetooth connection) and iSync was not present in the dock. Repeated attempts to launch iSync failed. I double click on the icon, but it doesn't show up in the dock. I've rebooted several times and repaired disk permissions to no avail.
I'm fairly certain that the iCal update in 10.5.4 is the culprit here. Is anyone else having a similar problem? Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks,
    Chris
UPDATE: I just found an iSync discussion page (I swear it wasn't there the first time I looked for it). If this should be posted there instead of here, please let me know. Thanks!

My iSync app was apparently broken too, even after applying the update again.
However, one thing other users may want to check is whether they moved iSync from out of Applications into Applications/Utilities (I did this a while back, and had simply forgotten).
The version in Applications/Utilities is just fine. So delete the dead icon in Applications and you should be good to go, if this applies to you.

  • ISync is in French. What can I do?

    Hey Everyone,
For some strange reason iSync is in french. It's really confusing. I can kind of understand what it's saying in general (I'm taking french at school), but it's really annoying. I can't figure out how to change it. I've searched the forms (and google) but nothing. This makes it hard to use. I'm trying to figure out how to use my Nokia 6126 with it. So, any help with that would be wonderful also. Thanks.
    -Olyvia

Ok, It's been A LONG time, but I sort of forgot about the thread, then I forgot about iSync and then today, I remembered and now it's in Japanese or Some other language with a different alphabet. And I might be lucky if I can get it into french... Ok I tried the combo update, no help. Then went to Get info> Languages> and Unchecked some weird language thing but English is not listed so now it's in french. At this point I'm just happy I can read it.
Thank you guys so much for your help... if anything new happens, I'll let you know.
    Thanks--
    Olyvia

  • Phone connections

I am trying to connect my Tungsten E2 to my Nokia 6126 phone. When I go to the Bluetooth menu on the Palm and request that it find my phone, it will find it. To set up a connection, I get a box on the Palm that prompts me to create a 4 digit passcode. When I try to do this, I can not get the Palm to let me write.  There is not a connection problem at all. The Palm can find the phone and vice versa. I just can't get the Palm to let me write. I have tried to get the keyboard to drop down, and it won't. If I tap the "abc" or "123" on the bottom of the graffitti screen, it just beeps.
Someone PLEASE help me with this.

    View Solution.

Have you tried just writing in the grafftifi writing area rather than using the virtual keyboard?  With the cursor blinking in the box to create the code, enter four digits in the number section of the graffiti area.
