Nokia 6131

I just got the Nokia 6131 and I would like to be able to sync calendars, names, all that + transfer pictures and and songs/sound to the phone. I have downloaded the plug-ins for my phone from here: http://en.isync-hilfe.de/PhonePlugin-Nokia.html
So that should be good, but I don't have a way of connecting to my computer. No cable, and my iBook doesn't have bluetooth. So what I am asking you, is do I need to buy a USB cable or a bluetooth dongle-thing. I've heard that it will only work with bluetooth. Is this true?

Ok, and obviously I won't be able to use the "Nokia PC Suite" program, but will the phone then show up in Finder as an external hd or something like that, so I can just put sounds and songs into the folders?

Nokia 6131 video not in sync with sound

After a year of working just fine, my Nokia 6131 video picture is not in sync with the sound when I play it back on the phone or when I download it to my pc to view.
At first the problem was only when I played it back on the phone, but was fine on the pc. Now it's distorted on both.
The video picture seems to be on fast forward but the sound runs smoothly. My video's are always less than five mins long.
Please can anyone help me to resolve this frustrating problem?

hey KatieGirl, i too had the same problem with my old nokia 6288. have you tried turning off your phone and restarting it, this usually helps in alleviating choppy video playback. if this is still resulting in **bleep** playback on your phone and pc, then i would suggest searching for a software update via Nokia Software Updater, if there is no update, then i would suggest re-flashing your phone with the same version firmware again. p.s. remember to backup all your data before flashing your phone with firmware.
failing all this, then i would suggest taking your phone to your nearest Nokia Care Centre or authorised service repair centre, as there may be a fault with your phone hardware itself.

Nokia 6131 to be switched off for data transfer

I have a strange problem.
I have 2 Nokia 6131 (NFC enabled) phones in my hand .In the first phone I have an application(Midlet) which writes data to the internal mifare of the same phone.
Now I brings the second phone closer to first one.I want second phone to receive the contents of the mifare of first one as a bookmark(auto launch).
But for that the first one needs to be switched off.Can any body guide me through the correct way to solve this problem

Do you get an error in either iSync or on the phone? If so, what is the exact message? If not, what steps are you taking to create the problem, and where are they deviating from your expected result? Did the phone pair OK? In other words, on the 9300 under Tools -> Control panel -> Connections -> Bluetooth, can you see the Mac under the "Paired devices" tab?
Are you trying to use a Bluetooth headset at the same time? I have to turn my Motorola headset off to pair with the Mac to sync or modem.
I have a basic Nokia 9300 (Asia-based GSM) here in the US with T-Mobile and have it working with iSync through a German company's plugin, and also got it working as a GPRS/EDGE modem.

You can use the phone with your australian number provided international roaming is enabled. You will be charged more ( for messaging & talking )than that in Australia since you will be using someone's else's network.

A boring 'does it sync' question for Nokia 6131

Thinking about a new phone, and want isyncability
Any experience with how well the Nokia 6131 works??
I know its not on the 'offical' list and I believe there is a plug in available, but wondered if it actually worked out of the box

Yes, there is a free patch here: http://www.mactomster.de/isync/
It's completely in German but all you need to do is download the patch and drag the plug in into the alias labeled in red on the .dmg. Then restart iSync and add your Nokia (having already paired the phone using Bluetooth Setup Assistant, of course). It works great for me.

Help me, please! I am trying to put some video clips into my mobile Nokia 6131,but it doesn't work. I downloaded Nokia PC suite 63..., used USB cable/ have no idea what to do next. The music is in 3gp format - but mobile can't see it. Thanks in advance!

6131 can only play 3gp/mp4 files with 176x144 pixels resolution.

Nokia 6131 Set Number as Default

Hi everyone. Before my brand new Nokia 6131 I had an oldie Nokia 6560 and one of the "features" was, when i choose a number as default, such number goes to the top of the list inside the contact...well...in Nokia 6131 it doesn't work out. I has a white square around the mobile icon and that's it. For example.
What you see is:
Contact Name
+5491158000000
+5491150000000 (This is the default, but is placed under a non default) Weird but true...

Yeah, I know it's weird...but let me go deeper. I changed the number of the stored phone that was not set as primary and nothing happended. Deleted the non primary...added again and nothing happened. Delete primary, added again and nothing happended. Added the mobile telephone that i wanted again after adding the primary and......voila!!!
Anyway I will check for updates.

Update Over The Air - Nokia 6131

If you go to http://www.nokia.co.uk/softwareupdate and try to update over the air, it gives you the instruction to do the next:
To Backup to your Memory card:
1.select Tools > Memory fron the main menu
2.select Options > Backup phone mem.
Well, i don't have those options in my Nokia 6131...

I need help on syncing groups with PC Suite. When browsing contacts with Phone Browser, I can edit/view contacts, but no info about the groups I've defined on my phone.
I've also tried syncing contacts with Lotus Notes but no groups were exported.
This is a very important feature for my job.

if you are using the ovi.com, i would suggest you get your contacts squared away and sync them elsewhere, that is going to be deleted soon, if not already.
i had issues syncing my data with nokia services for the longest time. it was good, then they "fixed" the nokia suite and it wasnt....then there was ovi suite and that botched them all too.
i used to sync directly to my outlook with the 9500, and then through my other devices until ovi suite when i grew tired of the challenges with the contacts.
eventually, i ended up signing up with office365 to get an exchange account for $5/mo.
i think that the devs for the software products only use thier nokia exchange accounts when testing, which goes around the issues that we have had.
i would create either a google account and sync there, or if you want to also sync directly to an outlook, create a live/hotmail/outlook.com email address and then download the hotmail connector application for your pc, and then it will sync your wireless devices and outlook like a free exchange server and sync contacts/calendar/email.

Can anyone help with how one can have hebrew put onto the Nokia 6131 NFC - RM 216.

As an end-user you cannot do this yourself.
You have to take the phone into a Nokia Care Point. If they can do it at all, there may be a charge for the service since your phone was evidently not intended for sale in Israel and, as such, the absence of Hebrew support is not a fault.
