Nokia 6230 car hands free ACI question

hello there,
I was trying to connect my nokia 6230 to the car's audio AUX input in order to be able to listen to MP3.
I have a very good knowkedge in Electronics, so i did some changes in the hands-free car kit.
question is : I noticed that when the car kit is connected to the phone (& the car icon appears), the audio output becomes MONO, which means I can't really enjoy stereo MP3 (with my change I bypasssed the car kit's speaker output with relay only when call is active).
the audio out pins of the pop port are at pins 11-14.
BUT - again - when car kit is attached, output pins 13-14 are inactive (only mono from pins 11-12 is available)
does anyone know how to hack this further more so it becomes stereo ? (I guess it is something with the ACI protocol ?? (pin 3))
thanks,
TOM

The phone is only seeing your "modification" as the basic the mono headset. It needs to recognise the ACI chip in the headset, that tells the phone whats plugged in and therefore what audio paths to turn on. Unless you can mimic the ACI info (copywright infringement so be aware)the phone wont open the second audio path.Message Edited by megadodo on 06-Sep-200704:16 PM

  • Bluetooth connection to car hands free

i have a motorola car hands free kit installed with my old 6230i the connection was automatic but i now have a 5500 sport this needs to be re-installed every time i get into my van does anyone know why or is the sport a H.O.S

If you try resetting your motorola car kit ( i dont know how) then pair your phone again this should work. also in your phone bluetooth settings see if you can change the motorola kit to automatically authuorise connections. It sound like the kit is still looking for your 6230i which needs to be deleted.

  • #6680 - connecting car hands-free + speaker to pho...

The 6680 phone fails to operate through the car hands-free unit (amplified speaker + mike). The phone remains in normal mode for receive/call.
The cable connection (plug and cradle is OK) as the phone charges when connected.
    Grateful for some comments/help.

try disconnecting the conector from the bottom of the cradle and plugging into bottom of the phone, i this works then you have either a dodgy cradle or a poor conncetion, this connector is easily knocked out of place. Has this kit been working ok previously or have you just aquired it.

  • Does the ipod nano 7th gen work with Belkin Blue tooth In car hands free? Customer support said it did when I bought it, but the box doesn't say it does and I dont want to open it in case I have to return it.

If the Belkin supports the A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth) profile then it will work.

  • Having trouble using my 9720 connecting to car hands free kit

Hi, i am utterly frustrated with my company blackberry 9720 phone. The trouble i am having is with the car hands free kit, my skoda superb uses the bluetooth premium and cannot use the normal hands free setting like with my Iphone. The problem i am having is firstly connecting, i can only use the bluetooth premuim, which completly changes all the setting on the phone i.e turns the network off on the phone and then a screen pops up saying running SAP mode (must use an ittenna in car?), which in turn stops emails from coming in, i can stupidly write texts messages on my dash board and receive them and read them on my dash board while driving. So when i remove the keys from the ignition the phone does not put the phone back to its normal working settings, it keeps the network switched off i have to go to settings and turn the network on. Thirdly when i turn the car on the phone will not connect automatically it says cannot connect to mobile, but if i switch the phone off and on it automatically connects, but if by the grace of god it does connect an second time the phone crashes and resets and then connects five minutes later after reseting. forthly this is not an phone issue it is definatly software as i have been given an second 9720 and the fault is present on both phones.
    can anyone help

as I believe it a car bluetooth hands free can only be paired to one device . ie if you wish to pair with another device you would have to reset back to default and search again.... so does the cuve work if you reset the bury and pair again but then your other phone does not work with it ... this is logical as if we drove down a motorway we would pick up loadsa phones.... therefor we can only pair to one device

  • HT204387 Can't find my car hands-free kit

Hi, With iphone 5 I can't find my cars hands-free kit when searching bloutooth, but I can find it and pair it easily with my iPhone 3GS. My car is Cadillac SRX 2012

Try unpairing the iPhone 3GS from your Cadillac, then try pairing the iPhone 5 again.
You can find more troubleshooting info in this Apple doc -> iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections
Also, iOS 6 uses AVRCP 1.4 so you may need to update the reciever in the car to make it compatible with with all versions of ACRCP.

  • HT204387 how to use synched phone in a car hands free

    Hi,
I can't use my 4S phone in my car hands free, it is synched but when I actually talk on phone I have to use the phone in my ear, somehow my setting is changed and I can't get to use the phone hands free, the bluetooth is on, don't know what else to to.

That would be interesting to see an app that's able to do all this and be able to have a keypad to dial a number.  Alot of consumers see the iPad as a replacement stereo, if you really look at the features and price between haveing a high-end double din stereo with GPS vs. an iPad/Mini.  The high-end stereo w/gps,bluetooth,usb for media storage and all the bells & whistles will cost you well over $1000;  As for the iPad.... the iPad already does most of the features that a car stereo can do and alot more, with the exeption of not being able to make a bluetooth calls, but with a price well under $1000 depending on storage space.  I have seen that the iPad,& iPad mini has made an impact in the caraudio scene ever since the very first iPad was released. If seeing is believing.... I would suggest to do a search on the web and youtube "ipad in car".

  • Not allowing bluetooth connection to car hands free

    Hi
I have a blackberry curve 8520 and a Bury hands free kit.
Normally as soon as the car is switched on the Bury comes on and starts searching for the blackberry and finds it immediately over the bluetooth and connects without any trouble.
Recently it no longer does this. Now I have to stop the Bury auto searching, turn off the blackberry bluetooth and then turn it back on for the bluetooth to connect.
If I allow for the Bury to keep searching you can see in the wireless networks screen that if briefly connects for a second and then disconnects and continues to do this.
I have restored the Bury to factory reset and it is not the Bury device because my Blackberry Pearl connects fine without any problem, it is my other phone that won't connect.
I have deleted it out of devices, played around with encryption settings and tried every setting I can see.
What is going on? why is my curve not allowing a connection to be made? I don't understand what can have happened for it to suddenly not work.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

  • Battery condition with in car hands free

My iPod touch 2nd Gen has spent most of its life plugged into my Parrot hands free kit in my car, now Ive disconnected it, it seems the battery only lasts a few hours.
Does anyone know if the iPod will automatically bypass the battery when fully charged, ie, keeping the battery in peak condition.

For maximum battery life Apple recommends:
    "Use iPod Regularly
For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month. If you use your iPod infrequently (gasp), you might want to add a reminder to your calendar program."
Thus, it appears you have not done that and thus the battery life would be shortened. I conclude that what you see is not unexpected.

  • N95, Nokia Maps, Parrot Hands Free, NIGHTMARE !!!!

I am sure this will not be able to be resolved, but here goes.
I have all the above but when ever i do anything on my phone, the sound comes thru the speakers via the Parrot Hands free Kit. This includes the navigation which believe me is mightily annoying !!
Everytime she speaks, the stereo gets muted.
So is there anyway for me to be connected to the hands free and have the navigation only come thru the phone speakers ???
    Please help
    Paul

    Anybody please ?
Basically i am asking if there is anyway to have the satnav working without it going thru my Parrott device but still able to use the parrott for calls ?
    Thx

Just make sure you're not paired to anything at the time and open the bluetooth settings, you should see a message that your phone is in discovery mode, at least in iOS6

  • IPhone 4: Since iOS5 Bluetooth issues when connected to car hands free and audio system

    Hi @ all,
this discussion is either a kind of "warning" for those who hadn't yet updated to iOS 5 and a beg to Apple for fixing the issue:
Obviously the iOS 5 does have some problems with VW and Ford (germany) modells equipped with handsfree and audio systems (googling a little bit resulted in many, many complaints in german discussion forums about it). Unfortunatelly I'm facing these problems now too:
    Issue 1:
When the iPhone is connected to the audio-system of the car via Bluetooth, the Audio Slider on the iPhone doesn't work any longer. The only thing that it is capable to do is, if you slide it completely to the left, which results in switching the audio completely off.
    Issues 2 (much more annoying):
When the iPhone is connected to the handsfree system of the car, the ringtone volume is obviously set to "off" or at least "extreme low". This doesn't harm when using the phone with the handsfree since the ringtone still is coming from the cars loudspeakers. But as soon as you leave the car and the bluetooth connection is disconnected, the ringtone audio on the iPhone is STILL set to "off". Means: Each time, when you leave your car, you have to increase the ringtone volume manually.
Issue 1 is more a "not nice" or a "OK, it's first release" bug. But issue 2 would have been a reason for me to wait for upgrading to iOS 5, since I'm using my iPhone as a business tool and am quite frequent on travel.
To verify that I hadn't had a bug when upgrading for the first time my iPhone, I completely set my phone back to factory default, put it in maintenance mode and re-flashed it completely anew using iTunes. I only performed minimal setup to make sure, nothing else could cause this. The issue still remained, therefore it was clear to me, it is iOS 5. I never had any of these issues with iOS 3 und 4. A probable "workaround" would be a downgrade, but this doesn't work, as known, either.
@ Apple Engineering: Please fix this as soon as possible!
    Cheers,
    Frank

Good question... I haven't found a "reliable" way of sending constructive(!) Feedback to those at Apple who really care. I remember the beginning days of Mac OS X, when the reply-link was even on top of the dock.
Maybe I'm just not aware of working feedback channels, I only can hope that some of Apple's people with "influence" read statements like this...
    Cheers,

I just bought a VW Scirocco 2010&the previous owner used the car handsfree bluetooth with his 2 phones(nokia&blackberry)with no problems.I have iphone 4 and although the car finds the phone, the phone never finds the car; it keeps looking for a device but doesnt seem to find anything &as a result, no pairing.Help!

  • Does anyone have Bluetooth failures with Mot Razr Droid Maxx using car hands free systems

Both my wife and I have Razr Droid Maxx's and are having the same problems with our respective cars.  At times, the phone will drop the bluetooth connection and it will have to be rebooted at which point it will be discovered and re-connected to the car.  The problem is NOT in the car, as we have a Ford Fusion and a Toyota Camry and we encounter the same problem with both.
Both phones are running Ice Cream Sandwich and we have verified all of the bluetooth settings at both ends of the connection. For some reason the phones.
The problem is particularly annoying in that, at least in the Camry, you are unable to reconnect the phone while driving, so you have to pull over and put the car in Park in order to do it.
Verizon tech support and the Verizon store have been of no help.  They simply shrug their shoulders and say they have never heard of the problem.
Has anyone else had issues like this?

I use Razr HD Maxx and used to have bluetooth disconnect problems during the calls. I tried everything I could think of, all in vain. Factory-reset solved the problem only for a while. Finally, I have found that some communication apps like Viber have the nasty habit of asserting itself every few minutes during non-Viber calls and reset both the bluetooth and speakerphone state to the default mode. This causes bluetooth to disconnect or turn off the speakerphone a few minutes into every non-Viber call. If you have an app like Viber, try either freezing it or uninstalling it. Uninstalling Viber was the only permanent solution to my bluetooth disconnect problems.
