Nokia 6230i and sending caller ID

My Mobile service does support caller ID features.
I have been experiencing this problem with my mobile 6320i (with my other mobile 6320, I have got no problem) I tried to enable caller ID to be sent to other party, but it did not work, I reseted the mobile, still I am facing the same problem-other part can not see my Mobile's number-, what should I do to overcome this issue ?

Hi I've got a Mercedes C220 '55' reg.
Nokia 6230i and Nokia B6 787 5846
The phone works well in the car, but I have a couple of questions:
How do I program speed dials for use in the car ? If I press and hold '2' in the car, I get a error similar to 'no entry'..
If I have a contact on the phone who has multiple numbers assigned to them, the car only seems to show there name if they ring from their main number.. Anyway around this ?
Also is there any way to dial on of the entries other numbers, not just the main number ? Thanks

Droid X receives and sends calls but neither party can hear

My Droid X would receive and send calls but nether party can hear each other, however I can send dial tones on the line. The receiving side can not send tones. Resetting to factory is dramatic. What can I do to fix this. Thanks!

Sounds like the software could be corrupt, how is hard reset dramatic?
It is either hardware or software, you won't know until you eliminate one.

Nokia 6230i and Nokia PC Suite

I have some problems with my Nokia 6230i, because it asks me, if I have to use it as a media (don't know if that is the word, because I'm using the Danish version).
Can I in anyways do, so my mobile phone (Nokia 6230i) automatically rejects the answer?
And can I deactive the showing of the synchronization on the mobile phone?

This is exactly the problem I've been having with PC Suite. I'm glad to find out it's the same with a cable connection before I go out and buy one in an attempt to get some connectivity.
It looks like the only option 6230i users have is a re-flash, which I understand is going to blank the data already stored in the phone. Nice.
This is irritating as hell, because the only reason I stayed with Nokia when it came to upgrading my phone was the 'ease' in moving data from one phone to another. I was offered a Motorola RAZR (which comes with a data cable...) but thought this would be easier.
I guess it shows that the free software supplied by Nokia is worth every penny. Buying a 3rd-party solution seems to be the best answer and will certainly give me better options for my next upgrade.

Send/Receive Text Msgs with Nokia 6230i and MacBook

I was told that it is possible to pair some bluetooth enabled mobile phones with the MacBook and to send/receive text messages. When a message is sent to the phone, it shows up on the Mac. The user can then reply from the Mac and it gets sent to the receipient's phone. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there a different application to facilitate this?

You do it in the Apple Address Book application.

Nokia 6230i and VW Car Kit

Hi all,
I have recently bought a mk.5 golf with factory fit car kit and sat nav. I thought this was a good idea as all the warranty work and problems with it then point to VW!!!
However, a few days after recieving the car my phone went pear shaped, so i had it exchanged by Vodafone. Found that the software version has also been upgraded on it.
Since my new phone it hasn't worked in the kit. Other 6230's and 6230i's do!!
Anyone else had this problem?? it does some really strange things!!!!

Well after many phone calls trying to sort this problem, it appeared to be a Software problem on the phone!!
Nokia are always doing things to improve their phones, but sometimes it just makes it worse.
My old phone was running software version 3.62 i have recently upgraded to phone running v3.70 and all is ok again!!
Must have been a temporary glitch in the software.

Nokia 6230i and Mercedes car kit

Help.
My phone is no longer working in my mercedes command car kit. If I fiddle with it it does intermittently pick up but does not charge it and often does not work properly eg unable to close a call. I've asked Mercedes to check the kit and apparently it's not a problem with the command system or phone cradle. The advice I've been given is that it could be the software or the charge block in the phone. Has anyone had a similar experience or can give advice. Thanks.

The PopPort connector on the bottom of the phone is notorious, but you could try cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser which may improve matters. As this is not a Bluetooth connectivity matter, I don't think software is implicated in this issue.
If you ever want to upgrade your phone you can change UHI cradle from 6230i to a 6310i one which you could probably find cheaply on Ebay and use a ViseeO MU-1000 Bluetooth module which fits in the cradle.

hi my wifes phone has just stop sending msgs for no reason she has credit and has not changed anything yet when she tries to send a msg it says
massage sending failed.
no network support for messages.

Everytime I try to send a text message I get - Message sending failed, number not in use.

What network are u on? Have u had this problem before? I used to be on Orange, and I couldn't send SMS/MMS to certain O2 numbers if I hit "reply" but could if I wrote a new message. HTH, Chris.

Is it possible to syncronize the Nokia 6230i and the PowerBook G4 using the I Sync application?
I tryed hardly several times with no success.

No, you can't sync your 6230 using isync. The only alternative I've found is a program called Phone Director which you can find at http://www.macmedia.sk/ it's not free but it works and it works very well. I don't understand why apple failed to support the most popular nokia phone. Hope this helps you.

Nokia 6230i Speed-Dials

I have a Nokia 6230i and wish to set speed dials as I had on my previous phone, a Nokia 8210.
On the 8210 I could set the speed dial on all numbers 1 - 9, including the No. 1 button. By pressing the key pad No. (e.g. number 1 button) and then pressing the hash button (bottom right) the display would change and the telephone number of speed dial for button No 1 would be displayed (e.g. 0121 123 4567) prior to making the call.
I could do this with all buttons 1 - 9 and show the 'phone number for each button.
The instruction book did not show how to do this,but somehow I managed it: I've since forgotten how I did it!
I would like to have the same function on my 6230i but I cannot replicate the same conditions as my 8210. On the 6230i I can put speed dials in buttons 2 - 9 (but not in button No 1 as it defaults to 901 each time - which I don't want) but I cannot find the facility for showing the number on screen for all the 1 - 9 buttons prior to dialing. Can anybody help please?

Try this:
Go into the following Menus:
Messages >> Voice Messages >> Voice Mailbox
Change voice mailbox number (available by ringing your operator) or whatever you want to change it to.

Nokia 6230i Pxt Setup?

Okay, just bought the nokia 6230i, And so far Its an awesome fone to use.
I Live in New Zealand and am on Vodafone NZ.
When people send me PXT's Vodafone tells me to goto
Pxtworld.co.nz to receive it.
Why cant i receive it on my fone?
I did some research and would this help solve my problem?

You need settings for MMs and GPRS sending to your phone. Check out here http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4222200 , you may be able to send them from Nokia website. Failing that if you contact your network provider they will be able to send you the settings
