Nokia 6230i bluetooth

hi i recently bought a brand new nokia 6230i phone.however i am unable to receive data via bluetooth from other phones. i can send data, that is no problem, but is there a reason for my phone not being able to receive data... please help!!

What does your phone say when trying to accept? Is any message displayed on the other 'sending' handset?
How much memory is free on your handset? If you're low on memory, you can't accept files that exceed the memory available.

  • Nokia 6230i Bluetooth problem connecting HELP!!!

Hi, I have spent the best part of the day trying to establish whether my new nokia 6230i mobile phone that I received for xmas is faulty or is it something I am doing wrong. I just cannot seem to connect to my computer via the Bluetooth or infrared. I have been reading other peoples problems with the same thing on various websites and I thought rather than try and struggle anymore somebody here may be able to help!!! I downloaded to PC suite that came with the phone, and even downloaded a higher version (apparantly a newer one). But my phone just wont connect. I then managed to download - 1.6.1 from http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=607&kind=8
which seems to be working fine but as soon as i tried to connect it just will not find my connection on my phone. Do i need to buy any other accessories before I can connect?? I might also add that we also tried on my partners laptop and nothing is happening at all.Am i doing something wrong. somebody please tell me if I need to buy extra USB ports before using this feature. Although being Bluetooth I thought this was wireless?? Also any recommendations on how to use the infrared would be great to. Sorry to drag this on - i am not new to phones as i have had many but this has got me stumped. Thanks in advance for any help. Dawnie33

If your Bluetooth solution is Bluesoleil, I would firstly update your Nokia PC Suite to latest version, 6.70.22 from www.nokia.com/pcsuite ( I don't recall by heart what was the level of BlueSoleil support in PC Suite 6.5, but it can be that your problem is partly related to BlueSoleil not being officially supported with that old version of PC Suite (6.5).
Then the next thing is to look around for intructions how you make sure that if you have Windows Xp SP 2 (which has microsoft own Bluetooth sw solution that easily "fights" with any other Bluetooth sw), how you make the Bluesoleil work in your PC flawlessly.
Google is good help for that, search for links like: "BlueSoleil sw problem in XP SP2" or similar and look for instruction how you make sure you only have BlueSoleil sw in active use.

  • Nokia 6230i/Bluetooth/NokiaPCSuite/Vista

    Hello.
I'm using NokiaPC Suite (on a Vista computer) since version 6.6 with a bluetooth connection to Nokia 6230i. There were no problems but after the last update 7.1.18 it's impossible to connect PC and Nokia again. Everytime I click on "Connect device" the three choices (Bluetooth, Cable, Infrared) are not enabled and so I can't click on them or on continue. The contact between Nokia and Vista is alright, but I can't use it with NokiaPC Suite.
    Cheers

I have a different bluetooth problem which is really annoying. I cannot connect to my Halfords ProWave car kit. It is a great kit and my other 2 phones worked perfectly. Get in the car it connects to the car radio, get out and you are disconnected.
But when I got the 6230i a few weeks ago when I tried to connect, it did everything, and connected. Then when I got in the car it would not connect and each time I tried it said that it was unable to connect.
I changed the unit in the car, and have since had 2 new phones, and it does the same thing. Once it has been through the process with the car kit, then it is totally screwed up and will not connect to anything. It finds the other phone or computer, but then says "Bluetooth connection failed".
Anyone else had this problem and how do you get anyone to do anything about it?

  • Nokia 6230i - Bluetooth modem

While trying to connect to the internet via my mobile phone connected to the pc by bluetooth (IVT Bluesoleil dongle), PC Suite says that no Nokia modem is installed and advises to make sure that the Nokia connectivity cable driver is installed, which is already the case.
I have no other bluetooth software installed on my computer, and I have the bluetooth icon in the control panel.
Any help with this is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    MK

Some precisions. I'm using XP SP2, Tablet PC edition. My computer is a tablet PC Averatec 3500 series.
I have already tried to unistall/reinstall IVT software ad Nokia PC Suite. For info, without Bluesoleil software, my dongle cannot work.

  • Bluetooth connection problem with nokia 6230i

Hi I am having troubles establishing a Bluetooth connection between my Nokia 6230i and my Dell Latitude laptop running on Windows XP SP2 when trying to use Nokia PC Suite. When using the nokia suite connection wizard it establishes a connection for a fraction of a second and then disconnects.
The following information may be useful??
    Windows XP Pro SP2
    Nokia PC Suite 6.5.12
    Microsoft BT Stack 5.1.2600.2180
WIDCOMM BT Stack 3.0.1 build 803
    Can any one help please??
    Thanks

You could try uninstalling the Widcomm Bluetooth and relying only on Microsoft + PC Suite 6.6.18 from http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite

  • Bluetooth connection between nokia 6230i and alcat...

I have a nokia 6230i and an alcatel ot 983,I've paired them but the ot 983 comes up as paired but not connected. And wont accept files from my 6230i.

  • 6230i Bluetooth connectivity problems

    Sorry for long posting...
I have recently purchased a 6230i to replace my 6310i.
I previously used a CA-42 USB cable for the 6310i but that is reported by the 6230i as incompatible - grrh.
And now I am trying to set up the Bluetooth connectivity.
I have (eventually) managed to get the 6230i paired to my Laptop using a Belkin USB Bluetooth and the Belkin software running on WinXP (IBM T41 laptop). PC Suite runs but seems to be a little unreliable over Bluetooth - will address that by sourcing a DKU-2 cable.
However, I have problems with pairing the 6230i with my Sony HBH-600 headset (works perfectly with 6310i) I can get the 6230i to discover the headset either by searching for audio enhancements or by setting up a new pair, however it always fails to set up the connection (never asks for passkey).
Similarly I cannot get my Ipaq 5550 to pair with the 6230i. I can start the pairing from the Ipaq which finds the 6230i but the 6230i never acknowledges the pairing attempt which then fails. If I start the pairing process from the 6230i it finds the Ipaq and attempts to pair but never asks to setup a passkey - the Ipaq does not seems to receive the pairing attempt.
I have set the auto connect option to yes and no with no difference.
    Any suggestions ?
Needless to say all this worked perfectly with the 6310i.

    Further to original post
The Bluetooth connectivity all works between the IBM T41, Ipaq 5550, Sony HBH600 headset and a Nokia 6810 phone.
So the problem appears to be the Nokia 6230i phone.
Further research gives some rather disapointing information.
    http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=2629
If you have problems performing pairing between an iPAQ 1940/2210 and the Nokia 6230 and continually get an error similar to "Cannot pair devices for security reasons" then it's related to the problem outlined in that document.
This is a Hardware issue and not a software issue related to the WIDCOMM BTW-CE Product. There are two types of keys that can be used for pairing:
    - Combination keys
    - Unit keys
The key type that is used is pre-set in the Bluetooth Radio Firmware. The WIDCOMM BTW-CE Bluetooth software
does not control this setting. The radio on the iPAQ 1940 uses unit keys by default. These Nokia phones reject the use of unit keys in pairing because it is not as secure as combination keys.
Users of older HP iPAQ models should check the HP Drivers page for the latest OS or Bluetooth software for their devices.
I note that my Ipaq is older than the two models mentioned and that my headset is 16 months old. So it looks as if the 6230i is going back - stupid no backwards compatibility.
thanks to Geekzone for the info.

  • Nokia 6230i cannot cannect using PC Suite 6.7

    I am using
    Windows XP
    SP2
    IVT Bluesoleil 1.60
    Nokia 6230i
    PC Suite 6.70.22
My Bluetooth stack does not appear as an option on the Get Connected wizard, it only shows the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. Have tried to use this but my phone is not detected. It did appear at one time (and my phone paired with PC Suite) but had to reinstall PC suite and it disappeared. When it did appear my phone paired with PC Suite but still did not connect. I can transfer files with Bluesoleil but want to sychronise with Outlook using PC Suite. Can you help with both these problems?

Does any prompt appear in your phone when you connect the usb cable? In some Nokia like my N91-2, I have 3 option(PCSuite,Mass Storage, & Music) & selecting mass storage give that message, which one have to ignore. Windows treat the phone memory as just another external harddisk like flash disk.
Did you download the PCSuite version specifically for your phone model?Message Edited by android on 12-Dec-200711:22 AM

  • Nokia 6230i operation failed

    hi!
I'm using a Nokia 6230i version 1.4, Nokia PC suite 6.8 and Bluetooth software 1.4.1 build 7, and Windows XP 2.
the problem is i can't install an application from the nokia application installer. i can see the other applications installed on my phone but whenever i try to install another one, it keeps me an "operation failed" message. in the past, i have installed more than five applications, but now, i can't install a single app.
please do help me. thanks!Message Edited by imhoney28 on 24-Jul-2006

    Hi,
I think that reason is this: There are not enough free memory for applications anymore (BTW: free memory for applications is smaller than phone's whole free memory)
Delete not needed applications from phone and try again...

  • PC Suite fails to sync my Nokia 6230i with Outlook

    Hi,
Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can make my Nokia 6230i sync with Outlook?
I am using PC Suite which connects to my phone perfectly (using bluetooth). All functionality seems to work, except for the Sync function! The 'error' is that it reports 'synchronisation completed' but 0 entries have been updated.
I have followed most of the solution directions on the web, but have not succeeded in making it work.
    My config:
    PC Suite 7.1.51.0
    PC Connectivity Solution:  Version 10.24.0.0
Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver: Version 7.1.29.0
    Operating system:
Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 1
    Language: English
    Language for non-Unicode programs: English
    Detected Internet browsers:
    - Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0
    Detected Bluetooth stacks:
    - Microsoft (Version: 6.0.6000, Build: 16386)
Thanks very much for any suggestions!

    Hi Marina,
    Connect the phone via USB
    Open Nokia Suite
Click the blue and white lifebuoy icon furthest to the right
Click Installed Programs and wait for the list to load
Click the Start page icon furthest to the left
    Click Synchronize all
    * Sync is slower than usual and fails with errors 80100023 and 80043c93
    Workaround:
    Close Nokia Suite
Disconnect the phone from the computer
    Connect the phone via USB
    Open Nokia Suite
    Click Synchronize all
    Now works as usual
    Windows 7 64-bit / Nokia N8-00 Belle Danish / Nokia Suite 3.3.89
The small Qt stability update for Belle is installed on the N8.
    Best regards,
    Hans

  • Downloading photos from Nokia 6230i

I have got pictures on my phone that I want to download to my pc to get copies printed.  I have looked at the boards here but only got more confused.  A phone shop I asked told me that a connecting cable should have been supplied with my Nokia 6230i to do this.  After searching through a heap of unidentifiable spaghetti kept over the years, I can't find the right thing.  I have a disc that I have never used called "PC Software for Nokia 6230i" - is this relevant?   I would be grateful for some basic information so I don't feel so foolish.  Thanks in advance.

I have owned quite a few 6230i's and I don't remember any of them coming with a cable. I had to buy the cable myself.
The cable you need is the DKU2. You could also use Bluetooth if you have a PC/laptop with Bluetooth. Last and my favourite solution is to remove the memory card from the phone and use the card reader which most pc's come with nowadays.

  • Unable to connect Nokia 6230i to PC via DKU-2

When I tries to connect Nokia 6230i to PC via DKU-2 using Nokia PC Suite, a prompt occurs on phone "Use phone as storage device". On accepting, deactivating message appears on phone and again it prompts for storage device and phone doesn't connects to PC.
Phone connects to PC via Bluetooth correctly.

    Hi,
I can not find any other reason for your problem....one thing what you could try to do is set that Shell value from register again (maybe it includes something what I can not see in log file)
    So try this:
    1. Click Start menu, Run and type: Regedit and then OK.
    2. Open key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    3. Select name Shell, click Menu and Modify.
    4. Clear exist value and write there Explorer.exe again.

NSU does not recognise 6230i. Get it updated at Nokia care.
