Nokia 6230i forgetting time and date after 1sec ba...

Im used to that my 6230i and other nokia phones remember time and date after a sim card switch. The 6230i has now however started to forget time and date after sim card switch or just 1 sec battery removal.
What is the problem and how can it be fixed?

There is I think a capacitor used to hold sufficient charge and this may now have failed. Entry level Nokia phones no longer retain time and date at all if battery removed.
Is your phone still under warranty?

MacBook Pro is forgetting time and date and wep password

Hi,
My Macbook Pro is forgetting the time and date even though I have automatically set time and date checked.
It is also forgetting it's wep password.
This is a pretty new computer.
I've seen a few posts about this, but it doesn't seem like anyone has a solution yet. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I'm having the same problem and it started right after the Apple Store replaced the logic board in my MacBook. Every time I restart the computer, it says that none of my wireless networks can be found and when I select my network, I have to re-enter the password. It warns me that the date and time were forgotten. Also, two firewall alerts come up asking if I want to allow access to a DNS agent and something else that seems to be related to wi-fi access.
I'm considering tossing out some preference files or resetting the NVRAM as troubleshooting measures.

Why my atv can't set time and date after restoring it using itunes ?

when my atv restarting after I restored it using iTunes, it can't set the time and date.
the atv is connected to the net by wi - fi.
when I try to sign in using my apple id, I get a massage that the password is incorrect.

The network and signal test on device won't give the full picture, for that you need a network report. Go to istumbler, netstumbler or similar, that will show true signal strength as well as any nose detected. You can also try Ethernet to help rule out WiFi issues.

I have to reset time and date after booting

My mac pro cannot hold date and time.
so far, I have replaced the pram battery and done the pram reset several times.
at first i noticed that the sys pref panes were unlocked when I went in to change the time and date but I have since cured that in sys pref/security.
the governing factor seems to be wetherr or npt is a revoot or completely cold boot (mains power switched completely off)
the expected message comes up i.e. " your system clock is set to a time and date before 1.1.2008 some progs may bave erratically blah blah "
the actual time has reset to 1.1.2001 ( dont know if that is significant but mentioned it just in case).
So, if i just shut the machine down and then boot it up again, no probs
if i restart, no probs

My Mac Book Pro forgets time, date and network password when battery runs flat. My software is up to date. The computer is about three years, but surely it shouldn't be necessary to change battery every three years? I have seen others with problem, but no answer yet.

1130AG Won't Hold Time And Date After A Reload

Hello - I am currently deploying 1130AG standalone access points to all my locations. I am having trouble getting them to consistantly authenticate against AD using RADIUS and PEAP. I have noticed that all the access points revert back to a date in 2001 or 2002 after every reboot. So, first, after I issue the clock set command and fix the time and save it, how do I get it to hold that after a reboot. And second, could the time/date mismatch be causing a problem with authentication? Here is a typical config that I am using:

You can enable SNTP to synchronize your clock.

It is having trouble connecting to the network. Make sure location is set correctly. DNS should be on automatic (settings - general - network). If on wifi try ethernet.

You may need to verify that TCP port 123 is open and available for use on your router.
TCP port 123 is used to communicate with a network time server.

I just updated to the latest firmware (3.0704.1.0.1) hoping that this would be fixed. Can someone from Nokia tell me if this is a widespread problem or just my phone!?

Somebody else had the same problem a few days back.
The advice was to take the phone to a service centre as the problem is probably related to whatever is powering the clock - probably a secondary battery like in a PC.

Recently I have reset my phone to Factory Setting, due to some problem that I'm having with my phone. Now, after resetting my phone to the factory setting, each time I off my phone (without removing the battery) and on it after that, I will have to update my phone date and time which before this I did not have to do that. This is usually a symptom of a faulty auxilliary battery. The auxilliary is a small battery inside the phone and not the normal battery and can only be replaced by a Nokia Care Point. It should be replaced under warranty if your phone is still under warranty.

In order to fix this issue, I advise you to perform a soft reset on your phone: type *#7780#. Default lock code is 12345. If the issue persists, perform a hard reset. First of all, back up your data using Nokia Suite (Tools > Back up). Once your data is fully backed up, type *#7370# on the keypad.
Alternatively, you may also check for updates on Nokia Suite (by going to Tools > Updates).
Then try to set the time and date again.

N95 time and data loss after shutdown

Hi! I own an unlocked N95 mobile phone with firmware version 12.0.013. The problem is that after shutdown and restarts the time and date is lost. I have disabled the option to get the time from the network operator. I have read on other forums that many other users have this problem too. Is this hardware or a firmware problem? If it's a firmware problem, when can I expect a firmware update that will fix it? My second question: are there different firmware versions for each language, because the T9 dictionary is very unusefull in the Romanian language. I have the same problem. Am also on firmware V12.0.0.13 (what ever it is).
I dont know exactly when my problem with lossing the date and time started but I dont think it was after i changed firmware.
I think the problem started when I had to formated my phone. It was running slow and getting temprimental. In fact am sure the date and time loss thing all started after I formated the phone.
The date and time is the only info I loss when I remove the battery every thing else is ok.
