  • Nokia 6233 does not notice any USB-cable

    I'm trying to upload some files from my phone to my computer. The problem is that when I connect USB-cable (ca-53, should be suitable with 6233) nothing appears on my phone screen. When I click the settings > connections > usb-cable, it only tells me "first connect the usb-datacable".
    So what should I do? The problem isn't in my computer, I've tested it with another usb connection.

    In that case, uninstall all Nokia related software and drivers with Revo, clean the registry with Ccleaner. Reinstall the latest PC Suite, turn off antivirus during install. Reboot the PC. Start PC Suite and then connect the phone in PC Suite mode.

  • Nokia C7 not charging over micro-USB?

    Hi,
    Just wanted to check if this was a feature of the phone in that you can only charge the Nokia C7 using the micro-usb socket when it is connected to a PC / Laptop? If you connect it to a USB adapter / car usb socket then it will not charge using this method.......even though my other non Nokia phones charge using this method?
    Is this a hardware limitation or can they enable it with a software fix?

    I don't think it has anything to do with cable length. I do not use the small usb cable that came with Nokia C7. I'm using a compatible usb cable that came with my Kodak camera. Its also is nearly two feet long but am able to charge my phone with it. Am able to say that its charging because the battery indicator cycles as it does with a charger.

  • Since upgrading to Leopard I cannot iSync to my Nokia 6233

    Since upgrading to Leopard I cannot iSync to my Nokia 6233 via bluetooth (I never did it by USB). The devices are paired and I can transfer files via Bluetooth so the basic setup is there. I have installed the Nova Media phone plugins for isync and my 6233 appears on my isynch bar and allows me to chose what to sync but when I click sync it cannot connect. (I have also been unable to use launchtonet from Nova Media since the upgrade. When I try to use it I get a message that no devices were found within reach.) Something is out of kilter - anyone got a suggestion? thanks a lot, JJ

    Hello,
    I have the same Nokia 6233 and the following way solved the problem.
    1. Go to /Applications -> iSync.app -> Contents -> PlugIns -> ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice -> Contents -> PlugIns -> PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin -> Contents -> Resources. (From Finder, use Shift-Command-G, for Go to Folder; or Control-click iSync in Applications.)
    2. Open MetaClasses.plist in a text editor.
    3. Search for <key>com.nokia.6230</key>. Then find the end of the script for the 6230 phone - the </dict> tag just before the next phone's <key> tag.
    4. Copy the following script and paste it between the </dict> tag for the 6230 and the next phone's <key> tag:
    <key>com.nokia.6234</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Identification</key>
    <dict>
    <key>com.apple.cgmi+cgmm</key>
    <string>Nokia+Nokia 6234</string>
    </dict>
    <key>InheritsFrom</key>
    <array>
    <string>family.com.nokia.series40.3rdEd.bus.bt</string>
    </array>
    <key>Services</key>
    <array>
    <dict>
    <key>ServiceName</key>
    <string>com.apple.model</string>
    <key>ServiceProperties</key>
    <dict>
    <key>ModelIcon</key>
    <string>NOK6234.tiff</string>
    <key>ModelName</key>
    <string>6234</string>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </array>
    </dict>
    5. If you have a Nokia 6233, change all the references to 6233 to 6234.
    6. Save and close the MetaClasses.plist file.
    7. In the same folder, duplicate the file NOK6230.tiff. Change the filename to NOK6234.tiff (or NOK6233.tiff if that is your phone). This file is the image of your phone which appears in iSync - if you want an accurate pic of the 6233/6234, find one and save it as a 60x60 transparent .tiff file).
    8. Open Bluetooth Preferences. Delete any existing pairing for your Nokia 6233 or 6234 phone.
    9. Create a new pairing for your phone.
    10. Open iSync and you should now be able to sync your phone:)
    If it works just copy the MetaClasses.plist file and save it anywhere. For the next updates You just have to copy it into the folder in iSync. This helps You saving time.
    If You want to use my MetaClasses.plist, You may send me Your Email-adress. Then I will send it to You.
    Good luck

  • Nokia 6233 - Music track list no longer shows char...

    My phone has stopped showing the track names in the track list. They names are only represented by small empty boxes. The track names appear to have downloaded OK as they are clearly visible if you browse the memory card. Can anyone help? I'm using Win XP SP2, PC Suite 6.82.22, Nokia 6233 connected by USB cable CA-53

    No - it was even easier than that! Apparently it was to do with the format that the track was saved in. Somehow my settings had changed from m4a to aac - resetting theis to m4a cured the problem.

  • Nokia 6233 music files transferring issue

    I tried transferring some mp3 files into my nokia 6233 using Nokia PC suite's Audio manager. But after selecting all the files I need to transfer and clicking transfer to phone button, the files get listed in the bottom pane where the status is displayed.After that the transferring status is automatically becoming "cancelled". What may be the problem??? I am using a Nokia DKU-2 USB cable... there is no problem while transferring images ets from the phone to PC.. The only problem is with transferring music files from my PC to the phone (BTW I dont have a SIM as of now... is it necessary to have a sim for transferring files into the phone???)

    You do not need a SIM card.
    Try copying the music accros with the windows explorer while your phone is connect to the PC in Data Storage mode.

  • Nokia 6233 - PC Suit Cable Connection & Music

    I have recently purchased the Nokia 6233 and would appreciate any advice on the following (in laymans terms would be great as I am not very tech minded) 1. PC suit will not recognise my phone (USB connection) At first the connection was intermittent e.g. sometimes it will recognise it and at other times it wont. Now after telling me to update to the new PC Suite, which I did (and it didn't work at all so I uninstalled it and re-loaded the old version )it will not recognise my phone. 2. When it did connect I managed to transfer some music from CD to PC Suit and then from the PC Suite to my phone. However I kept getting a message that there wasn't enough memory on the phone to download the music (even when I tried up to 3 songs) so I bought a memory card. This was good as I can now download quite a lot of songs. But they will on only play one at a time. How do I get the tracks to play continuously? Yours frustrated Nokia 6233 owner

    Hi frustrated nokia 6233 owner,
    I also have a 6233, with cable. I had the same problem where the pc suite would not recognise my phone when it was connected. I tried this solution from another post:
    Go to Control Program, Add Or Remove Programs, select PC Nokai Suite, select Support Information, and select Repair. Select PC Connectivity. Select PC Connectivity Solution, select Change, and Select Repair.
    The pc suite recognised my phone after that. However, there may be a downside, though it recognises my phone the pc suite functions no longer work. I dont know if that is a seperate problem. Give it a go. I hope it works.
    As for music, i'm not sure, sorry. Mine plays all tracks automatically.You may need to check the settings in music player. What format are your music files?
    hope i've been of some assitance to you.

    It sounds like your 5800 has the earpiece fault that was common with 5800's made before February.
    You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair under warranty.

    UK • Europe • Asia-Pacific • USA •
    Canada • Middle East and Africa

  • Connection constantly dropping with edimax ew-7612uan USB adapter

    Hi there,
    I have just installed a newly purchased edimax ew-7612uan USB wireless adapter, the problem that I'm getting is that the connection works fine on boot however it keeps dropping very frequently.
    This can be reset by running netctl restart my-network. which is a temporary fix but I can't keep on doing this every 5 minutes or so when the connection drops.
    I don't think there is a problem with the USB adapter as it appears to work fine in windows (I don't work fine with windows though!).
    The same problem has happened on both of my Arch computers... I don't use any other distributions so I don't know if this is an arch specific problem or a general Linux problem. It also happens when using the live disk.
    The old adapter is still installed in the box but once I can get this one working properly it will be removed.

    Looks like a driver bug. You could try multiple things, as a start:
    - switch channel
    - toggle encryption
    - different usb port

    You can only add songs to your iOS device from iTunes via Wi-Fi sync or via your cable, not Bluetooth.

    That's an entirely different issue, unrelated to your iOS devices.

    Can I connect my Apple TV to the Blu-Ray using an HDMI/ USB adapter?
    If you can find such a thing.  I really doubt that exists since USB is a data connector not a video connector.
    would allow me to run the audio through my stereo.
    That would depend on this adapter.

  • I recently purchased an Onkyo stereo receiver with a wireless USB adapter, UWF-1, and want to stream audio from my MacBook Pro through my stereo system. The receiver tells me it is connected to my wireless LAN, but I cannot get music to play?

    New to the community here, thanks for your patience.  I recently purchased an Onkyo TX-8050 Network Stereo Receiver with the UWF-1 USB adapter with the intent to stream audio from my MacBook Pro to the stereo. I have gone through the setup instructions for the adapter and the receiver gives me a message saying that it is connected to the password protected network, but that is as far as I can get.
    I have gone into iTunes and clicked on the "Open Stream" option, but I just get a pop up box labeled "URL" that is empty. I have Home Sharing turned on and File Sharing turned on, but I am not seeing the receiver in my Finder window or as a iTunes device.
    I would appreciate any and all advice and assistance.
    Thanks so much.

    So I have been searching the iStore for Airplay and I find lots of information about what it is, but nothing about how much it costs, how/where to buy it, etc.?
    Fortunately, AirPlay does not cost anything as it is a streaming protocol used by Apple. Currently, the AirPort Express and Apple TV are AirPlay-ready. A number of other companies, like JBL, iHome, Denon and Klipsch are also rumored to be working on AirPlay versions of their products.
    Your other option would be to get an AirPort Express and connect it to your Onkyo analog or optical digital audio input and stream from iTunes that way. I currently do this with my 10+ year old Harmon Kardon HT receiver.

  • Nokia 6233 v05.10 odd behaviour

    Hello!
    After thoroughly searching not only this board but the entire Internet, I found no answer to my question so I decided to register and ASK.
    I need to know if any of you owners of a Nokia 6233 observed this odd behaviour of your phone - so please keep reading.
    I purchased the phone 16 days ago. Being my first Nokia, I took time to exploit its every feature, therefore draining the battery quite quickly. I discharged and fully charged the battery at least 3 times in the first 3 days, without leaving it plugged-in overnight (as far as I know this is no longer necessary). The battery life time increased progressively until a maximum of three days of normal use, meaning moderate talking (under 20 minutes per day), little or no use of Java apps, camera, media players or GPRS/EDGE connection. The screen savers are off, power saver is on, sleep mode is on. Packet data connection - when needed and network mode is GSM only because I do not use 3G. All these should get me the best stand-by time possible, right? Well, they did, until...
    I bought a new microSD card, 2.0 GB storage, made by SanDisk. The card works fine, I put my favorite music and video clips on it - all the stuff you do when you have enough space. Since then, the battery life decreased SUBSTANTIALLY to LESS THAN 24 HOURS. And there's more. The battery drains even if the phone is turned off, in roughly the same amount of time. I have never ever seen anything like this. Sometimes the battery is so low that the phone takes a few minutes before displaying the battery charging icon and, when started, it asks for hour/date settings.
    So, I need to know if anybody else noticed battery life decrease with bigger memory card capacity, and what's to be done.

    Have you tried using the in-box memory card(That came with the phone) again? There's something wrong with your phone and battery if the problem still occurs..

  • Problem Printing to HP laserjet 4 plus via a parallel-usb adapter

    This generic parallel-usb adapter cable worked fine on a Sony laptop printing to HP laserjet 4 plus, but when I tried to do the same with the Mac book pro (2.4 ghz mac 10.4.10), the printer is recognized and it prints but only in a faded fashion (as if it is draft printing). I looked in the control panel on the printer and tried to make a couple adjustments, but that didn't help. The cable's page said it had mac 8.2 or whatever support. It did come with some drivers disc but it is too small to work in the mac (not a standard size cd).
    I would apreciate some help in this matter.
    Moorty

    Hi Moorty
    Hi wm300
    I have connected a HP LaserJet 4L to Mac OS X 10.3.9 using a Keyspan parallel to USB adaptor cable. You will require the same hardware setup. It is more than a connector, the cable it has a small converter card in it.
    Keyspan parallel USB printer adaptor
    You already have such a similar cable.
    Your problem seems to be the right driver.
    remove the printer then Add it again and decide which driver you want to use.
    Your model HP will work with the drivers available in OS X, HP LaserJet 4MP, or the old driver downloaded from the HP website for the LJ4/4M will also work.
    A new driver for it will also work available here
    http://buymelunch.org/printing/usbtb/
    So once connected to a USB port, your Mac will see it, load the right driver, and the printer should work.

  • Will it work with R500? Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-300N 600mW USB Adapter.

    Hi all, new to this site and also to owning a laptop. Bought what I believe to be 2009 Thinkpad R500. It works well with windows 7 installed. I bought it  so that I could stream music in my shop connected to my stereo. I sometimes think I should have maybe save up a little more and bought a new laptop. Paid $200 for it. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could tell if the item below will work with my laptop? My thoughts are to some time in the near future to also install an outdoor wifi antenna on my house. One thing I did notice in my shop which confused me a little was when I had my laptop and my wife's laptop down in my shop, her signal strength was around 20 mbps and mine only showed 13 mbps. Any ideas to why?
