Nokia 6260's Diode don't Light Up

Hi Eveyone
My Nokia 6260 Diode (found on the Front Cover)was not functioning. there are times that the Diodes lights up everytime I Charge the phone or an incoming call. please help..

I am facing the same problem. The LED (Light Emitting Diode) on the top does not light up any more. Does anybody know how to solve this?

Unfortunately there is no way you will be able to get the information from your phone saved. In order to have that done the phone must be in working order.
The phone might however still be repairable and if Nokia cannot fix it for you then perhaps you can try a general cellular repair shop. If the problem is hardware related they might be able to fix it with out you losing your data stored on the phone. If they have to reload the firmware then you will loose everything on the phone unfortunately.
Knowledge should be your Advisor when you need help.

Nokia 6260 Problems!!

Hi ...I'm new here!! And that's why i'm scared if this questions were asked before on the site...SO..
Can anyone tell me where can i find Original Nokia 6260 cases...the real question is Are they still making those kind of cases or they are on the list of "Rare Cases"?? I really need one...and in my country(Romania) i can't find nothing about 6260
Problem No.2 What happend with my LED ...it doesn't flash!! What can i do??is there something to be done without the help of a service??

1.For the replacement cases..check some online shops(Ex Ebay)
2.Bring your phone to a Nokia Centre.The Led(Yellow One?)might be damaged or faulty.

Problem GameCanvas for Nokia 6260!!!!

I tested some applications that extends the GameCanvas, when I tested on simulator J2ME Wireless Toolkit it hasn't problem when I download the application on phone (Nokia 6260) the program show screen and it work ok but when i try go out the application send the two errors
"Buffer closed java.lang.RunTimeException
0 java.lang.NullPointerException"
It's possible that phone not support the class javax.microedition.lcdui.game.GameCanvas? or what's the problem?

My nokia 9300i out lcd only show light but there is no display or startup splash screen. Internal display if fine. I am able to dial from outside display, but no letters / menu are shown.

umm......i dont think throwing the phone against anything is a recommended to fix anything.
take it to a nokia care point to let an engineer take a look at it.

You mean turning it off? Apparently, Nokia disabled turning it off in most of their phones, since its illegal in some countries to take pictures without it making an audible noise (to prevent voyeurism and other things). One fix is turning your profile to Silent. Works on my E63. Not a very covenient fix, I might add, but it works.

Word dictionary in Nokia 6260

My friend gave me her phone, Nokia 6260. She tells me that is should have a dictionary in it, I dont mean for predictive text, I mean a look up english reference dictionary. I think I have accidently deleted it cos when i go to the menu item it says "dictionary word information missing install word database", she assures me it was working ok, so i think i have buggered it up
Can anyone advise me how to recover the data, I have tried to scan the memory card with recovery software but nothing is shown (final data), or what are my options, how can i restore the missing file or how do get a hold of it, i tried searching the net but nothing so far.

ok, I'm going to answer this one myself just incase anyone has the same issue, I have been diging around the site here and i came accross a sis file that when downloaded and bluetoothed to the N6260 it does a self install and hey presto the chinglish dictionary translator tool works fine, Only problem I got now is to learn how to read chinese ..........

If it doesn't flash blue anymore that probably means you have turned sleep mode off the blue light only blinks when you put it into sleep mode on, if it's on sleep mode and the blue light doesn't blink that's a bonus because my brothers says hes n73 is bothering him at night.

Nokia Maps 2.0 don't show maps on N95

Installed the latest firmware on the N95 (V21.0.016 14-02-08 RM-159 A5.01), formatted the memory card, installed Nokia Maps 2.0 (v2.0wk21b02), started it (in order for MapLoader to work properly), installed MapLoader 1.3.8, installed the swiss and german maps via MapLoader (the files are definitively in the 'cities' directory on the memory card), rebooted the phone then started the maps application again. The GPS works find but no map is displayed (even though I'm in Switzerland, everything is just green background, no matter what kind of view (satellite, hybrid, 3d, normal) I choose.
What's wrong? Bad quality assurance?

I got it working!!! I sure hope this helps you all too!!!!
Firstly, make sure you go to the app. manager on your phone (usually found in the applications folder) and delete the nokia maps 2 from there.
Also reformat your memory card.
Then do what needtogetfit posted but I've made it step by step for ppl like me LOL):
Connect your phone to your computer using the "data transfer" NOT PC Suite. A folder should show up, if not, go to 'my computer' and it will be there as "memory card" or whatever you have named your card.
Open it and you will see a few files in there. Make sure you delete the folder "cities" or "diskcashe" if it is still there and also delete a file called qf-file. (for some reason they seem to stay there even after a reformat etc and that's what seems to stop the maps from being seen properly)
I also made sure I had 'show hidden files' checked in the tools/folder options/view so I could see if they were hidden or not.
I then installed the nokia maps from my computer onto my phone via PC suite.
Open up your maps (it may take awhile cause it's starting a new directory structure on your memory card to replace the ones you deleted)... and allow it to connect to the internet briefly so you can get satellite coverage. (dont panic, you will still only see a green page, but if you zoom out you should at least now see your country etc)
Once you've done that, close and connect your phone to your computer using the "data transfer" and open up the map loader program and download your countries maps + voices you may want.
Once done, go back to your maps and you will find that all the streets will be showing once again!!
I hope this helps, it worked for me and I tried it on two different reformatted cards that weren't working before this.

Nokia N97 - Zoom Buttons Don't Work In Camera Mode

Whenever the phone is in camera mode, the zoom buttons don't zoom in or out or do anything. But when it is in music player mode they turn the volume up and down perfectly fine.
Any ideas how to fix it or is a trip to Nokia Care needed?
Would upgrading the firmware do anything to solve the problem?

Hi, as the switch seems to be 'worknig' as in it's causing an action, then it is probably a software issue. Firmware upgrade should help but so would a soft reset, you could do both, as one goes really well with the other.. Use Nokia Software Updater (the latest version) to uodate software, and dial *#7370# followed by 12345 for soft reset and phone will return to 'factory new'. Before doing anything , back up contacts and calender ONLY (settings may be causing a problem. Once complete you need to set up your phone again. If stll no zoom, you need Nokia Care Point !

The URL not updating can also be caused if there is a problem with the file that stores browsing history and bookmarks. To see if this is the case, open your profile folder, for details of how to find it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
Now close Firefox and rename places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old. If there is a file called places.sqlite-journal you can delete it. Restart Firefox and it will re-create this file, importing the bookmarks from a backup, though browsing history will be lost. Now check to see if the URL changes.
