Nokia 6280 - Flight mode

Hello,
In the User Manual for Nokia 6280, on page 59, it's written that this phone supports the Flight Mode.

However, I don't see such a choice in my Profiles list. Can anybody suggest me how to enable it?
Firmware version: 3.81.
Phone is bought from T-Mobile Germany.

The offline mode (sometimes called flight mode) switches off all radio signals, but you can usually switch them back on individually. For example, if you switch on Bluetooth, you get the question "Do you want to activate Bluetooth in offline lode? yes/no".
Therefore, theoretically you ought to be able to use these features, though it depends if the airline you are travelling with allows this - most don't.

Yeah some allow phones in offline mode. Others only if the MP3 player comes on without the phone, some nothing at all. Check with the space waitresses when you are onboard. They will have the most up to date info. Oh one last thing, if the crew tell you that the captain says no it must be off, do it, they will have a nice man in a pretty uniform carrying an asp/mace/great big gun (Depending on what country you fly into) waiting for you if you refuse.

ASK : Does Flight Mode in WP drain LUMIA's Battery...

Hello Everyone, Is there anyone else had same issue like mine? Two days ago, my LUMIA 625 turned into battery saver mode. So I charged it immediatelly. I charged my LUMIA in Flight Mode. After 100% charged, I pluged out the charger but forgot to turned off the filght mode. In stand by condition, I put my LUMIA on my desk and then go to sleep. When I wake up , I found my battery in 30%. Does the flight mode can drain the battery ( for about 10 hours ) ? Normally , my LUMIA can take up to 1 day for be 30% battery life from 100%. Some helps will be so helpful.

Hi, AYMAR89. Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Flight mode will not drain your phone's battery. In fact, it should prolong the battery life of the phone as it deactivates the phone's connection such as Wi-Fi & cellular data. Try checking if there's an app running on the phone's background by going to Settings > Applications > Background task. You may disable some apps and monitor your phone if it will make any changes. For some battery tips, check this link: Battery: making it last.

Nokia 6280 Dead During software update

Hi all
I have a NOKIA 6280 with this firmware: 3.06 RM 78
Wiht Nokia Pc Suite I tried to update it to the last firmware 6.0.... but after the NSU says me to unplug and plug the battery the phone doesn't switch on.
During updating my software, my NOKIA was fully charged and to avoide any battery failiur, it was on charging mode.
PLz help me how can i reflash its software or how can i fix this prb.

Just to reiterate what it says on that web page: adding an SLR lens to your 6280 will invalidate your warranty, and you probably shouldn't be doing it.

Nokia 6280 - how do you get it offline?

I recently purchases a second hand Nokia 6280. According to the Quick Start Guide under Phone hints it says: "Offline Mode: in the Profiles menu is offline mode, which turns off the mobile network connection. Choose this mode to use your Nokia 6280 when normal phones must be switched off (on planes, for example)" I do not seem to have this offline mode as an option. I get the following options only: General, Silent, Meeting, Outdoor, My Style 1, My Style 2 and Lock Keypad. Anybody got any suggestions, or is the Guide simply wrong ? Cheers

Nokia 6280 screen

I have just got a new nokia 6280...which I love by the way! Just got 1 problem, if you leave it for a few minutes the screen goes black. i.e it shows the data time etc in the white strip for a few mins then goes all black.
I want to be able to see the phone status...e.g if i have any messages without opening the phone...Does this make sense!!??

Go to Menu>Settings>Display>Sleep mode and select it off. This will keep the white strip showing.

5ghz Wifi doesn't work in Flight-Mode with Wifi tu...

Turn Flight-Mode [ON]. This disables all wireless connections, including phone network, bluetooth, and wifi AS EXPECTED.
Now manually turn Wifi [ON]. 5ghz networks will not show as available. 2.4ghz networks both show, and connect normally.
Turn Flight-Mode [OFF]. 5ghz networks now show and work normally. This is non-sensicle.
Can anyone confirm that their phone contains the same bug.

you would need to ring nokia themselves or visit a nokia store to report this as an issue. Whilst this forum is the nokia forum, its for the community to help each other.. Nokia reps rarely discuss issues on here. They may make announcements from time to time.
Having said that both the moderators and some nokia staff do visit the pages to keep an eye on things such as these issues, even though they don't comment on them directly.
I would be keen to see if this issue is related to the firmware or the hardware. Obviously if its hardware related then maybe Nokia can look at it for future models, if it firmware related then Microsoft may be able to fix it in some future release.

N8 and Flight Mode?

My old Nokia 6300 had an option - Flight Mode, where the phone would disconnect the radio and other transmission possibilities that might interfere with the planes eletronic systems.
Some say it's a myth that such interference occurs - some don't. But just to be safe.
Is there such an option with the N8 or do you simply have to turn the phone off?

Ways to transfer music on to nokia 6280 pls help

hello every one
I know is a bit stupid to ask but I really need help on this
I would like to transfer some of my favorite cd traks on to my nokia 6280
but the thing is that I don't have pc at home
can any body tell me what are some of the ways to tarnsfer music in to my mobile?
I already have the nokia cd that came with the phone when I bought it
is it good idea if I use internet club comupters to tarnsfer music ???
what are some of the steps that I should take ??/

Hi. My pc wont take the pc suite so all I do is plug the phone in with the supplied data cable, set the fone to data transfer mode, and the fone shows on the pc as "G" drive. It could also be D,E, F and etc, it depends on what other devices you have on the pc. Once you do this you can drag and drop either way, music pics whatever. Hope this is of help.

Nokia 6280 update

hi!!!1 my nokia(6280) has some troubles.may you help me?
it has automatically switched on and off.(in stand by mode)automatically changing profiles(gentral,silent........) what is the problem?

There's not alot you can do on an S40 phone like the 6280.
Your only option here is to take your phone to your local Nokia Care Point. They'll be able to assess the problem and either reflash it or send it off for repairs.

Newest firmware flight mode

Newest firmware installed. Go to Date & Time settings. Turn automatic off and then back on.... phone goes to flight mode for few seconds?

It's not a feature, it's more of a requirement as the phone needs to disconnect from the network to change the way it manages the time stamp message it receives from your operator.
This happens on most phones, not just Nokia's you'll be pleased to know.

Nokia 6280 firmware Upgrade

Hi, can anyone help?
Currently have V3.82 with code 0532255
This soft ware seems to have issues, just like the previous ones, that has resulted in it being returned and exchanged/"repaired" in excess of 8 times!!!
May sound excesive, but unlike some who are prepared to put up with a "few niggles" I am not as I am paying £30 a month for the use for this phone.
But here is the problem, Nokia do a v5.xx which runs smoothly with no issue and some extra features, ie flight mode and a user friendly mp3 player.
But the highest "authorised" version for my network supplier is only v3.82, so if I send it off via the network for "repair" it comes back the same.
Seems they are not interested in getting the latest firmware as it is an "old phone/design" so more interested in trying to get people to get a new phone with a new contract thus avoiding the issue!!!
Yet Nokia SC (or the one I used) say they can only load the firmware specific to my network.
So left with a phone with bugs that I can not get rid off?
Yet on one occasion the phone was returned/replaced with one that had the v5.x firmware on (whether that was due to a generic handset being set back etc no idea).
So I know v5.x firmware works with my network.
Unfortunatly had to send it back due to faulty screen caused by the ribbon connector internally scratching the screen (they tried to charge me for it saying it was my fault despite it happening on open and not being dropped etc!!).
Yet they replaced it with a phone with the older firmware version on
So please how can I get a firmware version that works with no bugs loaded???
As it seems Nokia are saying it is the Network providers issue as they can only load what they are authorised by them to load.
Yet The network are saying I have to go through Nokia as they are only contracted to supply the airtime, which there is no issue with (apart from not being able to access it due to faulty firmware/phone) and hence not their problem!!!
So what do I do???

I would like to know do we have firmware upgrade for Nokia 6280 as my present one is 3.65 and would like to upgrade it to 5.92 and I am in India

updating to new firmware depends on product code which represents your region of purchasing, language pack and if it's branded or not .... so NOKIA releases firmwares and release it for every product code depending on mentioned points

To find what the latest available device software is, you’ll need your device’s product code. The code is printed on the white label beneath the battery (e.g. CODE: 0520001).
if your phone is branded with an operator, that means that you should go to the operator care center and ask them, not NOKIA
some updates delay in some countries variant product code, as it requires more effort to add language pack to it like "example. China Japan Korea" or it needs the country to approve it due to its policy
