Nokia 6280 restriction code

hi..i have a question regarding my nokia 6280. sometimes my phone will hang and after a while, the phone will be locked and asked for the restriction code..is it normal?and also sometimes even while i am texting, it will be locked and ask the restriction code..may i know what is the restriction code of the phone?i really dont know..please help..

The restriction code is used to unlock as SIM-locked phone.
It is very unusual that your phones asks for it randomly, and then decides it doesn't need one after all, you should try a software update - either do it yourself with Software Updater (see the Nokia web site) or have it done at a Nokia service point. This should iron out the bug that has crept into your phone.

Hi,
It sounds like the handset is actually 'locked' on the 3 network. You'll need to contact them to get the handset unlocked. I am not sure on their procedures but there is probably a cost involved. Give them a ring on 08707 330 333 if you dont have a 3 sim card.

I need restriction code For Nokia 6280

Hello all,
A friend got a Nokia 6280 as a gift from the UK, the phone is on 3 network. each time the phone is put on it asks for restriction code. I don't have the code and do not what code to use.
Hoping to hear from you guys.

Basically the restriction (sometimes called unlock) code would have to come from the original network.

i am pleading to every body in the house, i want to unlock my nokia 6280.
3 network.
the was brought from london to me in nigeria, has all my effort to insert sim into the phone but the phone is requesting for restricted code..

You need to contact the provider as they are the only ones that can unlock phones. Try looking at the unlocking topic for all related info.

Nokia Orange UK 6500 Slide - Restriction code Pls

I got a new phone from UK and was trying to use it in USA, when I've inserted the SIM and trying to access the phone, it asks for "RESTRICTION CODE", does anyone can help me in this.
History:
a) Got the phone
b) Bought unlock code
c) Seller provided 5 different set of codes to try
d) All the codes I've tried on the phone failed to unlock
e) Now, asking for RESTRICTION CODE
I will be most thankful if someone can help out from this.

Ulocking the nokia 6280?

My girlfriend just bought me a nokia 6280 on the internet but it is locked to 3 network & as im a vodafone costomer its not much good to me dose anyone no of anywhere i can get a ulock code from?

hi everyone, its been a while since I last posted here, but looking at all your responses as nice as everyone is i'm still in the same situation.
Things however did slightly move on. Got the security code sorted as carphone warehouse did that for free surprisingly and they reset it to 12345 so that was good, then it still asked for the restriction code which t-mobile charged us £15 for. Got the pin used it twice which is the max time it says you can do otherwise your phone will be locked forever and we got code error. It said in the letter they sent with the code if it says code error to call a number 01717 bla ba and guess what the line was dead.
SO £15 down and still with the subsidy pin they claimed we needed did not work!
Has it come to the point where no one knows how to unlock this t-mobile handset? Pls someone help me its driving me crazy. Was only trying to the fiance a good turn and its all back fired! Thanks

Call - with another phone - the original operator who had it locked in the first place, and ask them to give you an unlocking code.

Firmware upgrade for Nokia 6280

I would like to know do we have firmware upgrade for Nokia 6280 as my present one is 3.65 and would like to upgrade it to 5.92 and I am in India

updating to new firmware depends on product code which represents your region of purchasing, language pack and if it's branded or not .... so NOKIA releases firmwares and release it for every product code depending on mentioned points

if your phone is branded with an operator, that means that you should go to the operator care center and ask them, not NOKIA
some updates delay in some countries variant product code, as it requires more effort to add language pack to it like "example. China Japan Korea" or it needs the country to approve it due to its policy

The reason you are being asked for a code is because the phone is network locked.
You need to contact the network that it's locked to for the unlock code.

Nokia 6280 wont pair or isync

Ok I am trying to set up my new nokia 6280 with bluetooth and isync. When I go to bluetooth and select "Set up new device..." It says looking for device, find it then goes to "Gathering infomation about this phone.." and just hangs there.
Normaly I would then get prompted on screen with a pair code and asked to put it into my mobile but it never gets that far.
Anyone got any ideas?
I'm running isync 2.2 the mobile is RM v3.65 the latest from Nokia. I should accouding to the isync page be able to do calendar and address book with the phone as I have been about to with my Nokia 6230 for over a year now.
Any help would be great!

PS. I have also tryed to pair the computer from the phone and it find the mac but then says passcode but I have not set one up? HELP!

Okay got the answer. It turns out it's the bluetooth adapter on your mac that's causing the problem. I had a dodgy USB bluetooth dongle from Indonesia that worked fine with my old Nokia 6600 but didn't work at all with the 6280.
But now I've plugged in a different model bluetooth dongle it works. I found the reasoning behind it here from this discussion here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=454430&tstart=15
Apparently it's some sort of standards conflict.
