Nokia 6288 car cradle for Mercedes

Hi,
I have just purchased a Mercedes SLK with prewiring for a fully integrated hands free mobile phone but Mercedes are not able to supply a cradle for my Nokia 6288.
Does anybody have a solution for this - can I get a cradle from Nokia and have it installed by a third party specialist car phone installer ?
Does anybody have any experience with having a phone fitted to a Mercedes by a third party installation company ?
Would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks

Hi Scoobyman,
Thanks very much for your reply.
Not sure what the UHI system is; Mercedes describe the option as prewiring with hands free facility for the phone, controllable via the multi function steering wheel. The cradles currently offered include the MB 6787 5822 that you mentioned (for Nokia 6210; 6310; 6310i); there is also a bluetooth integration cradle MB 6787 6125 (with no indication as to what phones this supports), and a Bluetooth cradle MB 6787 6128 which appears to be compatible with various listed Nokia and Siemens handsets (but not the Nokia 6288); and a further Bluetooth cradle(H.F.P) MB 6787 5877 which is compatible with some other listed Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones (but not the Nokia 6288). No idea what H.F.P means.
I have also not heard of the Visee0 MBU 1000 Bluetooth module you mention; who supplies this ? How can I check this out for compatiblity between car and my Nokia 6288 ?
Basically I am looking to connect my phone to the Mercedes supplied hands free integrated wiring system ideally by getting a suitable cradle for my Nokia which someone (i.e. a specialist carphone installation company)can fit to the car and get it all working for me !!
Mercedes seem not to have kept up with the latest phone models regarding their cradle offering; I need someone to finish the job for me.
Any further suggestions (from anybody) would be much appreciated.
Thanks

  • Car cradle for Nokia 6300 !

Hello all, does anyone know if Nokia will be producing a car cradle for the 6300, as there are some other companies out there that already have one on the market. I would rather have a Nokia version as it would fit the holes already drilled in my dash !!!!

  • Car Cradle for Nokia 8800

Does anyone know when the car cradle is being released for the Nokia 8800 to suit an Audi S4 Cabriolet ??

If you have the car kit factory fitted by Audi then this is an issue for Audi. If you have a Nokia car kit fitted as an aftemarket product then only Nokia can answer the question. My opinon is that they probably wont make a cradle for this phone because it is a designer phone not a common use phone. The 8800 dose have bluetooth connection available if thats any good to you.

  • IPhone Car Cradle for Audi

Just spoke to Audi and they are only just starting to design and produce the cradle for the new iPhone
I asked why and they told me that Apple refused to release details in advance so they knew when we did.
Crazy really when you think about it, iPhone is the leading phone for business and most of us use them in the car.
I for one will not be buying an iPhone 5 until the car cradle is available, I'm told this could be at least 8 months away at best.....

    Frustrating isn't it!!
What I have done is use the USB cable from AMI and plugged my iPhone 5 USB charging cable in.  Not ideal but its a short term solution to charge your phone whilst on the move until the cradle becomes available.

  • Car cradle for Blackberry Curve 8310?

I have what may be kind of a silly question, but I'd love to find an answer. I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 that I LOVE and I just downloaded Telenav GPS for it. It works great, but I was wondering if there is some kind of cradle for my Blackberry that I can purchase so I can put it on my dash making it easier to see while driving?
    Thanks so much!!

I have the vent mount and love it. It is adjustable for different sizes. I had the 7290, 8700 and now the 8310 and it fits all of them good.

  • Car Cradle for Charging and External Antenna Compatible with Tour

Is there a car kit that allows easy charging and connection to external antenna for the Tour?  I had Comfort Cradles by Bury for my last two BlackBerrys, but I just was disappointed to learn that Bury does not have or even plan one for the Tour.  Any suggestions?  If I had known this before, I probably would have stayed with my 8830.  Thanks.

To answer my own query - I just spoke to someone at Smoothtalker and was informed that Smoothtalker will be releasing a charging cradle, with external antenna conttection, for the "Tour" in "about a month."
I still would be interested in hearing from anyone else with any information concerning this.
    Thank you,.

  • IPhone cradle for Mercedes Benz

I have bought the original Mercedes-Benz iPhone 3G cradle. I have followed the instructions to pair the iPhone with the Cradle (without the phone being in the cradle and entering the 62872 code).
It all works well - but only if the iPhone is IN the cradle - I can't get it to connect if the iPhone is in my pocket? Bluetooth is being used do I don't really understand why it would only work in the cradle?
    Any ideas?
    *Cradle model:*
    SKU: MB-BT-IPHONE3G-CRADLE
    A2048203951

Will it pair when not in the cradle? What I mean is, have you tried pairing the phone to the cradle, but not placing the phone in the cradle? Once paired this way, then place the phone in the cradle, see if it's still paired, then remove and see if it remains paired. If it doesn't, could be the phone is treating the crade as two separate devices. If it's doing that, by design, it will only pair with one at a time.

  • N95 Car cradle with antenna connection

    Hi Everyone
    A little advice please.
Im looking at buying the N95 on the Next G network....due to our remote location i will need to use a car cradle with an axternal antenna. I have looked everwhere to see if i can find one but with all the different advice i have looked at i have got a little confused. Can anyone let me know of a car cradle for the N95 which has inbuilt charger and connction for external high gain antenna?

Another solution is to get another phone with an external antennae kit and clone your sim card (if your provider does not support multi handies on the same sim number OR get the in-car cell booster system instead if you absolutely want an N95.
    http://www.wi-ex.com/
I would prefer the Car Cell Booster kit since this is the preferred choice to get a better signal since it is an active booster and not passive.
Before buying this unit, MAKE SURE it works with your cell provider's frequencies cause this unit is for North America.
Here is a provider that will be releasing a european model soon.

    Hope this helps.

  • Nokia C3-01, suggestions for next S/W update

I am using Nokia C3-01 from 2 weeks. It is nice phone with touch and type combination. I would like to add some suggestions for next software update.
    1.   Brightness control
    2.  When writing a text message, tapping # change only alphabet from capital to lower case, but missing numeric. I have to press 3-4 times to write numeric in text. Also have no 'option' to insert numeric. If I change other language (not English, which is automatic), then I can get numeric by tapping #. Nokia, please care it for next firmware update.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can do a long press on the keys to get the numeric value instead of pressing it three to four times. This works for all Nokia since years, if they have keys
Or do a long press on the # key. This gives you the option to activate numeric input. Also a quite old feature for Nokia phones.

  • Car kit cradle for nokia N95

I have just bought a new car which has a hands free car kit in it suited for a nokia 6288, my phone is a nokia N95 so it is wider than the cradle that is already fitted for the 6288 and the connection plug in the cradle from the wiring is different in it to what suits a nokia N95.
can i just buy a new cradle that fits a nokia N95 and change the cradles over and if so what about the plug that connects to the phone from in the cradle, can you buy adaptors for these of some sort to change it to suit the N95 instead of 6288?

    Hi
The N95 does not have a wired carkit option, only Bluetooth. You don't mention what carkit it is that is already in the car but try pairing to it by Bluetooth and that should give some type of identity.
Cradle wise you can have one for the N95, but it will only hold and possible charge the phone.
The Nokia CR-99 will fit but it's a generic cradle.
There are also third party cradles for the N95 such as the Brodit branded ones.

  • How to fit 5110 into car cradle in '01 Mercedes Be...

I've just bought a secondhand '01 MB E320 which the owners manual tells me is set-up to take a Nokia 5110 so that hands free calls can be made via the in built Sat Nav system. I purchased a Nokia 5110 on eBay, it perfectly
matches the pictures in the MB owners manual, the ID in the back of the phone (under the battery) verifies that it is indeed a model 5110.
Problem: The phone won't fit the cradle:
The connector pins match, the shape of the cradle recess is the same as the phone, but the stubby ariel prevents the top end of the phone from sitting down into the cradle recess. I've confirmed the car hasn't been modified, it's the original phone cradle that was put into the car at build !
    Any suggestions on a remedy?

    Hi naida
I wonder whether as factory fitted cradle utilizes inbuilt antemma on the car instead of the phone's stub aerial.
At the back of the 5110 below the antenna there is a connector for an external antenna. The connector may be protected by a rubber cap. If it is, first remove the cap before inserting phone in car cradle.
Please see page 31 of the user manual.

  • Cradle for Nokia 6100?

I have a 6100 but this phone does not appear in the drop down list of models for accessories on the Nokia site. Is it compatible with accessories for the 6101 or 6103 (these appear when I do a site search for 6100 accessories)?
What car cradle can I use? From other discussions I thought a CR-3 (or maybe a CR-24) might work. I can't find a CR-3 anywhere on the Nokia site or E-bay.
I have a Ford Focus with what I think might be a CK-7W. Will all Nokia cradles work with this kit?

I used to have a Nokia 6100 in a car kit but I cannot remember what model the kit was.
    http://shop.nokia.co.uk/nokia-uk/product.aspx?sku=3607438
The Nokia MBC-15S is the holder that will work with the Nokia 6100 - you can also use the AXF-15S which is the antenna coupler unit.
    http://shop.nokia.co.uk/nokia-uk/product.aspx?sku=3607437
I'm not sure if I used the Nokia Ck-7W with the 6100. If you try it and it doesn't work, it will come up with Accessory not supported, the POP-Port cable on the kit can be plugged directly into the 6100, and also into the MBC-15S holder detailed above.
The holder and antenna coupler are in stock at the UK nokia shop.
    Hope this helps

  • E65 - any news on a cradle for the car?

I have got an E65 & love it although am getting very tired of using the bluetooth aspect for my car kit - does anyone know when Nokia will bring out a cradle for this phone or if I can do a bit of DIY on another cradle to get it to work with my E65
    Cheers
    Pete

If you are looking for something to just hold the phone , this is what i am using and it works fine.
Easy Mount HH-12, Easy Mount + Passive Holder CR-39.
My nokia rep says that there will be no nokia add where a "complete" craddle with charge and HF connection will be included. Now it is all BT.....
