Nokia 6288 doesn't retain settings after reboot

Hi, i've a problem with a Nokia 6288 that after each reboot
does not retain settings regarding "Normal" profile and background. If i turn off the phone, when i turn it back on it reverts to blank backround and "nokia tune" ringtone and all other settings to default.
I already tried to reset it to factory default but had no luck.
Also tried reflashing firmware with nokia software updater but the problem still remains.
There is a way for "hard resetting" it to factory default?
Regards
Luca

A nokia care point can hard reset a series 40 phone, you cannot do it yourself. They will also be able to fix your problem.

    Its strange and not usual.

    Try to download and to install the newest version of touchpad driver from the Synaptics website and please repost the results.

  • Control Centre - doesn't retain settings

    The version of Control Centre (2.5.060) on my mother board (P67a-c43,  bios v1.19, 20120801) doesn't retain settings.  In fact what would appear to be the "apply" button is showing as blank.
    Recently I reverted to an older version of the bios because of other problems.  I seem to remember that when I was using the very latest bios before I reverted to an older one at least the green power settings seemed to be working.
    I notice on other posts that this problem of not being able to "apply" settings or retaining settings seems to be a bug that has never been fixed.
    I wonder, is this still the case.  Is there any solution?

    Thanks for the suggestion.  My bios version shows "auto" and a also atarget cpu temperature.  When I tried it at a target of 60C and ran the cpu flat out the cpu temp was nearly 70c.  So, knowing that the actual is overshooting the target temp, one way forward is to set the target quite a bit lower than than the actual desired temp.
    I think this is simple if inelegant way of solving the problem and I'll probably adopt this mainly because it is so simple.
    But surely to have to do this because Control Centre doesn't work and because the alternative  bios method of temperature control is inaccurate does not do MSI any great credit.

  • Mavericks "forgetting" simple settings after reboot

    After upgrading to Mavericks I was surprised by the the new wave background image on all my spaces - while it is a lovely picture I use the background as a clue to which space I'm in, so I reset them to my own pictures/images as they were prior to the upgrade.
    After rebooting the images returned to the wave on all spaces - huh, that's weird...  So I reset them.
    I also noticed I had an AppleScript app that wasn't working right and I need to debug, so I turned off the "Open at Login" option for the app and went about my business.
    I rebooted again later in the day and once again my desktop images were reset and the AppleScript app was launched at login.
    What am I missing that Mavericks is forgetting these customization settings?

    I was having the same issue with background images. Every time I restarted, back to the waves...
    I've since placed in the image in Library>Desktop Pictures and changed the image through preferences. So far it's been holding (fingers crossed). Previously I had been using the Contextual Menu>Services>Set as Background Image to do it.
    There is also another way. Navigate to System>Library>CoreServices>DefaultDesktop.jpg.
    You'll see it's an alias to the Waves, background. In this case, just create a new alias with the correct privileges and the same name that points to your desired photo. You may have to do this as the root user.
    Lot's of trouble for a simple thing, hopefully it gets fixed.

  • Messaging and Social Networking Widgets Losing Settings After Reboot...

    I'm having problems with my Messaging and Social Networking Widgets losing all of their settings after a reboot (power off/on).
    Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a fix for this issue?

    Try doing a phone reset by removing your battery for 5 seconds then place it back in and power your phone on.  You may have to add the settings back. • WRV210 loses port forwarding settings after reboot

    Along with wireless problems that have already been documented about this device I am having problems with port forwarding where it will lose all its settings after losing its power.  I then try to go into the management for port forwarding and am not able to put the settings back in as every time I hit 'Save' it just loads the page back up with no settings applied.  Another strange thing is that the protocol comboboxes only have options for UDP or Both.
    I then reapply the latest firmware and am able to enter the settings again.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wits end with this one.

  • Windows not retaining settings after 10.4.11 update

    Hello everyone,
    I just updated my PowerBook G4/667 Titanium to Mac OS X 10.4.11 (from 10.4.1) and everything is working fine but there is one annoying problem. Every time I restart, when I open some of the windows on my computer, they do not retain their settings - settings like the list view and window size, for example. Some folders DO retain their settings when I open them and some don't (like the Applications folder and the Macintosh HD folder/window which I have to reset every time I restart).
    I have to keep setting them to list view every time after a restart. How can I fix this so that they stay the same all the time? Does this have anything to do with the invisible .DS_store files? I don't understand why some windows retain their settings and why some don't.
    I've repaired permissions numerous times. Cleared cache files. Tried setting the "global" view from the Finder > View > Show View Options to "All Windows". Tried everything I know.
    Can someone please tell me what I can do to fix this?
    Thanks so much,
    Gerard

    Hi Gerard, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, move these files to the Desktop.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
    Then reboot once more.

  • ACR doesn't retain settings

    I'm using Photoshop CS5.1 on Mac OS Leopard. I adjust TIF and JPG files in ACR. Occasionally, the adjustments will be lost after opening in Photoshop. This doesn't happen with every file and sometimes after two or three tries the settings will be saved when they were lost the first time. Is there a way to assure adjustments will always be saved? Thanks.

    Sorry about the confusion.
    I work with JPGs and TIFs, preparing images for offset printing, sourced from stock agencies and individual photographers. I seldom work with RAW files. I really like the tools offered in ARC for adjustments because they are none destructive if I have to return to the source image for additional corrections. As I've stated above, I  make the corrections in ARC, open in Photoshop to continue my image prep. Occasionally, when I return to the source file in ARC, the adjustments are gone. I make them again and open in Photoshop. Sometimes the adjustments are saved the second time and sometimes not. So, I'm not sure what the problem may be. Hence, my post here...

  • Safari 5.0.5 OSX not remembering cookie settings after reboot

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having a very frustrating issue lately with Safari 5.0.5 on my MBP with OSX 10.6.7...
    I want to have my cookie settings under Preferences -> Security -> Accept Cookies to permanently be "Only from sites I visit". When I started Safari, and set that setting, it will remember the setting for the entire machines' session. However, if I reboot, or shutdown/restart my Mac, it will revert to the Always setting.
    I have tried trashing the Safari plist file under ~/Library/Preferences/, and trashing the associated caches.db file as well, hence resetting Safari, with no success.
    Any advice on this would be greatly appreaciated!
    Cheers

    Hi Andy,
    I just tried to temporarily remove Safari Cookies, and I'm sad to say the old issue re-occured as soon as the add-on gets uninstalled.
    It seems also, that after launching Safari for the first time after a reboot and going into Safari Preferences fast enough before the add-on launches, the setting is still incorrect, but then gets modified by Safari Cookies.
    I went and checked my Login Items, but there's nothing there that can affect Safari; the list hasn't changed in a long time. I don't have folders .../InputManagers or .../ScriptingAdditions under Home/Library.
    Under .../LaunchAgents, I have the following:
    com.adobe.AAM.Updater-1.0.plist
    com.adobe.ARM.df0ab5bbe6f698196fcc21e3c1e66dcb758bd911f4d637272d9d8109.plist
    com.apple.CSConfigDotMacCert-<blocked>-SharedServices.Agent.plist
    com.apple.FolderActions.enabled.plist
    com.apple.FolderActions.folders.plist
    com.apple.FTMonitor.plist
    com.apple.imagent.plist
    com.apple.marcoagent.plist
    com.google.GoogleContactSyncAgent.plist
    com.google.keystone.agent.plist
    `
    The first three are related to my Adobe CS5 and Acrobat X Pro installations.
    Now that I have the add-on which seems to keep things in check, this isn't as high a priority as it was, but I would definitely love to find out what's causing this so I can eventually nip it in the butt!
    Cheers

  • Lost all settings after reboot (not restore)

    Man, was this frustrating. I needed to reboot my iPhone 4 today due it acting unusually sluggish, and after I did so, it acted as though it was a brand new phone, showing me the message about editing the home screen icons when it turned back on. In addition, certain settings were lost, including push notifications, wallpaper, and I think a few others. Mail and calendar accounts stayed,though contacts were messed up (e.g., some records merged for some reason). Very bizarre.
    While I'm okay because I have a recent backup, this causes me some concern down the road. What if I don't have a recent backup? Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Again, in a nutshell, rebooting caused my phone's settings to reset, and I lost some crucial items, such as pictures and contacts. I'm scared that this will happen again, and I won't be so lucky as to have a recent backup. On top of that, restoring to the MOST recent backup was no good either, since it just restored the incorrect settings.

    I have an iPhone 4 I've had since it's release... Running 4.3. I had been told several months back by an Apple Care rep that it was good to do a hard reset (holding down the lock and home buttons until the Apple symbol appeared) every few weeks. This is the first time I had done it since 4.2 came out though (but again, I'm on 4.3 now).
    So I first noticed my friend's picture was messed up when he called... Then I noticed the main ringtone was back to default... And my battery percentage is now gone as well.
    Some unrelated (possibly) things: I just got an iPad 2 and it is synced using the same account with the same computer. Ever since getting the iPad 2 every time I get a new app on one of the devices it will appear on the other device after I sync it...I also had an app I had deleted from my iPhone reappear after syncing. I don't know if that's normal or not.
    The main reason I'm writing is that since 4.3 has come out and most of you posted about this before it coming out... I wanted to document it was still a problem.
    Lastly... My phone had not frozen, But it was locked when I did the reset. Hope this helps

  • Not saving settings after reboot.

    Everytime I reboot, the language settings are reset ( I had 3 other languages).
    Also some of the apps I recently purchased are not remembering login or licence.
    Anyone with the solution please?

No one else is making audio cards these days so Creative can pretty much afford to not give a crap. Although at this point I wonder if I should just switch to on board sound and be done with all this mess.
    This did not work for me. I tried everything to get it to work. I ended up replacing the card with the new ZX and after the sleep trick this card seems to be working.

  • V. 7.1.0.37 doesn't retain settings

    I'm using version 7.1.0.37 of the Blackberry Desktop Software, and it keeps unchecking the 'Replace all entries on your computer with the entries on your device' checkbox in the Tasks configuration settings, and even when I set the checkbox & sync right afterward it sill ignores the checkbox. It also reverts the custom device backup path to %home%/My Documents/Blackberry/Backup from the custom location I set it to myself- every time I open & close the application.
    I've uninstalled & reinstalled it twice & it doesn't matter, it still doesn't save its settings.
    Is there a configuration file I can edit manually in an editor to try to make it set right?
    Do you have a bug tracker I can file a bug report in?

    Nor does it remember that its supposed to launch upon connecting the device.

  • Print Dialog doesn't retain settings

    I am using kPrintActionCmdBoss to print several times from the same document (different layers each time). I want to put up the print dialog the first time, and then keep the user's settings for the subsequent prints. I can see that the settings are remembered by the document:
    IDocument* iDoc = Utils<ILayoutUIUtils>()->GetFrontDocument();
    InterfacePtr<IPrintData> docPrintData(iDoc->GetDocWorkSpace(), UseDefaultIID());
    bool16 debug1 = docPrintData->GetPrintBlankPages();
    debug1 is kTrue if I ticked the 'Print Blank Pages' box in the dialog.
    I try setting the print command's print data:
    InterfacePtr<ICommand> printActionCmd(CmdUtils::CreateCommand(kPrintActionCmdBoss));
    InterfacePtr<IPrintCmdData> printActionCmdData(printActionCmd, UseDefaultIID());
    printActionCmdData->SetPrintData(docPrintData);
    but the print command seems to pay no attention to the settings.
    Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Charles

    I also wonder why there is no "print preview" option in the Firefox print dialog box. I don't want a "workaround"—I simply want a print preview option the same way every other Mac application provides it in the print dialog box.
    Where did this go??

    Since I upgraded to Lion, I get the default photo of the Andromeda Galaxy photo on my desktop when I boot even though under Desktop Settings, I have it set to display new photos every half hour.  Once I manually select a photo under settings, then it cycles through my desktop pictures every 30 minutes as as specified.
