Nokia 6300 alarm & ringtone volume

the alarm tone is too weak and even the ringtone is not loud enuf.. any suggestions?

It could be that your phone has got some hardware damage. Please take it to a Nokia Repair Shop and ask them to test it for you and tell you if it is indeed to soft or operating normally.
Experience and persistence are second to none just ask user one.

  • Nokia N8 Alarm Clock Volume Problem

What is wrong with Nokia N8's alarm clock volume? I can not find anywhere to define the way it alarms (ascending, ringing, ...) and to set the volume.
The default clock has the ringing alarm, but I want to set ascending alarm. Also I need cont down alarm, so I tried couple of third party applications like Handy Clock, Time Machine and Egg Clock Touch. But The problem with all of them is that the alarm volume is too low and there is no where to adjust the volume.
Is there anyway to set ascending for the default clock alarm? Why there is no volume for the clock alarm?
    I appreciate your help.

The alarm clock should follow the profile you're using, so if you set a profile to full volume and ascending , that should work, also if you try Nokia situations from beta labs you may be able to get the phone to automatically do what you want it to do !

  • Nokia 2600 low ringtone volume

I've adjusted the ringtone volume as high as I can but it's still very low and I often miss incoming calls. The tone to alert me to an incoming message is good and loud, so the phone is capable of producing a decent ringtone - it just doesn't do it for an incoming phone call. Can anyone help.

It could be that my problem is related to something else that was causing me trouble - that my phone only ever does a very few rings before switching to Voicemail. Maybe it never gets a chance to crank up the volume. Now if you could teach me how to sort that...........
Sorry, but thats really how it works. Few jitters and before it ends. The tone will notch up from minimal up to the maximum. Isn't it inconvenient?

  • Nokia 6300 Alarm on synchronsed appointments

Does anyone know how to turn of the alarm within the calendar for synchronised items?
I am synchronising with Outlook 2003 and although I have switched off alarms for appointments in Outlook, they still come through onto the phone with alarm set.
    Any advice would be great

I am not sure that you can do that.

  • How to raise the ringtone volume te the maximum? (...

hi all im having a prob with my nokia 5200 the ringtone volume when someone calls me is low than it starts raising for like 5 seconds to the maximum ... i want the ringtone volume to be at the maximum from the first second that someone calls me ... PS whats the musical note button on the left side of the mobile phone serve for ? when i press it a mp3 song starts playing but i have like three mp3 songs in the music folder and i can listen to just one

You can't change this....it's a safety feature. Actually I quite like it: it's much less antisocial since it lets you answer the phone before it annoys too many people......

  • Nokia 6300 Ringtone Increases by default, why?

about 5 seconds in it increases quite a bit, sounds really tacky innit..... thinking about selling it because it **bleep** my off so much.... like, can you make a phone that just plays the ringtone please? thanks

This feature started from 2005 with the 6230i. In some ways it's not bad because sometimes sudden noise can frighten you and we all know the disadvantages fright can cause.
And as ZACPERSON said, it doesn't take long to get louder so it's not a problem.
Some of you people seem surprised and wonder what's going on with your phone why it doesn't ring at full volume on the first ring. Don't you people read your manual ??? I read my Nokia 6300 manual and it says when the ring volume is set to the maximum, it will reach the maximum volume after a few seconds.

    hi,
What you need to do is go into:
"Settings" then "Tones" and make sure "Incoming Alert" is changed to "Ringing" rather than "Ascending"
    I hope this helps.

  • Length of the ringtone, nokia 6300

I am from the Netherlands so forgive me my bad english.
the problem is that my nokia 6300 only rings 4 times when someone calls me and then it goes to the voicemail.
I want the phone to ring more times before it goes to the voicemail.
how can I change this ?
    thanks in advance,
    Yvonne8

Sometimes, the ring duration depends on the caller's network too. Some network don't like to get their network busy, so they have a limit on the call's ring period. Eg: If "A" calls you and his network's limit is 40 secs, your phone will ring only for 40 secs. But if your network has a limit of 60secs, when you call "A", his phone will ring for 60secs despite his network limit too. But this is always network dependent.

  • Nokia 6300 firmware wishlist

    Hello!
Let's give our suggestions for improving the Nokia 6300's firmware. Post feature requests, bugs and ergonomy issues.
    Contact list:
    * All the fields of a contact should be searchable (name, surname, phone number etc...)
    * The user should be able to hide groups in the contact list, as they are disturbing; in some cases, groups are only used to assign a specific ringtone to its contacts.
    * The change of a contact's name should reflect on the Call log and Inbox. Currently, the names displayed in the Inbox and Call log will remain the same, even after a contact's name has been changed in the contact list.

    1. when i try to play video clip (@176x144 resolution) on my nokia 6300 in full screen mode there are two white bars on the left & right side of the screen. Means the video doesn't fit to the screen. so please try to remove this problem on the next firmware update.
    2. please add brightness control in the next update.
    3. please add music player & radio themes.
    4. please add full screen web browser in the next update like nokia 5220.
    5. please add landscape mode and manual iso settings in the camera.
    6. remove maximum 1 mb jar size limitation.
    7. increase the video recording quality because its really poor & its a shame for a two mega pixel camera.
    8. increase the volume in the music player.
    9. add visualization in the music player.
    10. Add proxy address and proxy port in the access point settings for opera mini.

  • Help With A Question Regarding Nokia 6300

    Hi everyone,
Im usually quite good with mobiles in knowing what they do and dont accept kinda thing but ive found myself a little ticked off a Vodafone right now and im hoping one of you can answer my question please.
As soon as I had charged my phone up I contacted vodafone for the settings in order for me to browse the web on it.  Once I had done that, I had a look for a ringtone I wanted, bought it, waited for the text and when it arrived I went to that link (from vodafone live) and attempted to download it.   All I got was "download failed" twice.
The first time it happend, Vodafone refunded me and told me to wait at least 24 hours before attempted to buy it again which I did, I waited well over 24 hours.
I tried again and the same thing happened so I contacted them once more and just asked them to refund me once more and I just wont bother with it.  They wouldnt, they told me to check if it is compatible or not....im nearly 99.9999% sure this phone takes realtones.  Obviously I could be wrong and ill be embarrassed if it doesnt but could someone answer this and possibly explain why it might not be letting it download?
Ive had nokias before and the settings all seem to be in order, I deleted and moved some stuff to my memory card so im pretty sure there is enough memory.
    Thanks a million.

check here in the "digital services" part http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/devices/nokia-6300/technical-specifications it says true tones. this is it.
it might be Vodafone's network problem that gives you the  "download failed" message.

    http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/resources/documentation/series40.html
    From Wiki:
With the latest firmware version (currently 06.60, not available for some local models such as North American) Nokia 6300 is capable of smoothly playing MPEG-4 (*.mp4) files with a QCIF resolution (176*144) and a frame rate of up to 25 frames per second. The phone allows the user to view the video clips in full-screen landscape mode and set the fast-forward/rewind interval from a few seconds to minutes. Improved audio quality for music playback was also noted for this firmware version, thus making the Nokia 6300 a music phone similar to it's counterparts, the Nokia XpressMusic. In addition, video clips can replace ringtones so that an actual motion picture is shown while there is an incoming call.

There is a product code with the mobile update enabled while the other has it disabled. It seems that your's has the disabled one. The only way for you is to connect the phone to Nokia PC suite and update from there.

  • Nokia 6300 - transferring sound files

    Hi,
I just bought a Nokia 6300 and pleased with it so far, but I am having a bit of trouble with getting sound files to be recognised. I have successfully transferred .aac and .mp3 sound files to the phone, but when I wish to select one of them as my ringtone the folder has a '?' next to it instead of the musical note symbol - meaning it is not recognised.
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks very much.

Hello Echo. I have tried doing this but when attempting to select the item I am told 'format not supported'.
I have noticed that many items already on the memory card such as the games and other music pre-installed seem to work fine [with the musical note on the folder icon and no question mark], but I am having difficulty with my files.
Just to check - is it only MP3 and .AAC which is recognised by Nokia 6300? I also tried using the .WAV of my sound file and that didn't work either.
    Hope someone can help!

  • Nokia 6300 screaming like a smokealarm.

My nine days old Nokia 6300 started screming like a smokealarm in my ear, i am now deaf. Check out the video --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQwxUEvV5sI , i was making a call when i pressed the green button and putted the phone to my ear when this high pitched sound screamd me right in the ear(the volume was setted to 40%). I have sent the phone to Nokia(Sweden) to have it checked out. Can i get compensetion from Nokia?

The phone should be easily replaced - even if nokia has bad customer care.
But I swear to God.. If that ringing noise ever happen when I have my phone to my head, and it causes any kind of semi-permanent or chronic hearing loss (or the like).. Im gonna sue!
That’s the one thing that must NEVER happen to a phone. Physical damage is (and should always be) taken extremely serious. And I think nokia is in deep on this one.
And that’s just one aspect.. the other one being that they apparently are being pretty clumsy in their costumer care in your case just makes it all worse. I think you have great proof with your video. But perhaps it was not the smartest thing to do, if you uploaded the video before you talked to nokia..? In that case you've sort of backed them into a corner then Not wise if you want them to show you any sort of sympathy and compliance. And im not sure if they can actually sue you for uploading the video.. but in some weird corner of the law, I would imagine that they could.
Anyways.. I think they should fix your phone ASAP and hope that you do not sue. You should be getting a hearing test and the like (as other have mentioned), and if your hearing has actually been damaged, then you should take further action.
    Best of luck
