Nokia 6300 and PC Sutie not restoring Contacts HEL...
Hi all im not sure if anyone else has the same problem but for some reason every time i try to restore a backup from my Nokia 6300 that I have just made it doesn’t seam to full work.. Everything else will restore except my contacts. If I restore my contacts I get a error msg saying Connection to the phone was lost. Reconnect your phone and restart the restoration..
Yet when I restore my contacts from a old 6230i phone I backed up 3months ago it seams fine..

Is there any other way I can backup my contacts…
Also I have noticed some of my applications have now been moved into a different folder on my memory card.
Ok, so I reinstalled the software, and so far it seems to be working 90% better. I can add contacts, and they seem to store on the computer AND phone better. One contact would not send, had to delete it and recreate for it to work, but was able to get it to the phone.
So I won't delete the original post, maybe someone else will have similar problems. Hopefully I won't be back to edit this response once I get to 10 or 15 numbers.

Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.
If so, then it's a hardware problem. Make an appointment at the genius bar and get it replaced. Based on the "it was water damaged", I think it's a safe bet that it's toast. -
my ipod touch is locked up we dont know how it happened and it will not restore also could i trade a ipod touch 3g for a 4g and pay the rest for it

Just upgraded my iPad to IOS5 and when the download was completed, a window said that there was an error and it could not restore. Now I have a black screen with the Apple logo and the circle lines. None of the buttons respond. Help, please!!
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Maybe this will let the iPad reboot and then you may need to restore again but see if this helps to start the iPad first.

did you try to connect in recovery mode? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If this does not work, try to delete the iphone software file located in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates to make iTunes download a new copy when you connect in recovery mode. Maybe the file stored on your PC is damaged.

There was a workaround posted, but I've not tested it myself. Here are the steps.
# Go into Yahoo Messenger Options - Change the Window in the dropdown to Tab and press OK.
# Then go back and switch it to small window and press OK.
Once the bug is officially resolved, you could try running a Nightly or Aurora build to use the fix early.

How do I Restore previous session when I have it setup correctly and it did not restore from last session? I have General is set to Show my windows and tabs from last time and Privacy set to remember history.

There is No option to restore previous session when I go into History. There is No Recent history in the History. It will show my history if I click on show History, but it won't restore it!Hi StuckAtHomeMom
try in PRIVACY panel to set : Firefox will: Use custom settings for history and :
Uncheck: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
Uncheck: [ ] "Clear history when Firefox closes"
check everything else and in Accept third-party cookies, set Keep until: they expire

I have 2 iphones registered under same account, but both phones had different contacts in them, somehow icloud duplicated, exchanged them, and I turned off the icloud on one of them, while doing that it asked me if I want to keep them on my phone or not. I pressed the one saying not to keep them. I deleted all of them and could not restore the contacts, how do I restore it? when I sign in to my icloud account online it only shows the contacts that were on the other phone. plz help
I access a personal iPhone and iPad, and a business iPhone with the same Apple ID.
The iPhone's passcode lock feature is completely separate from another iPhone or iOS device.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps. If some apps were downloaded with one Apple ID and then a new Apple ID is created, in order to download an app update that was installed with the original Apple ID requires using that Apple ID and password. -
E7 not restoring contacts after Anna
I got an E7 and started using it. After a while, I synced it all to OVI Suite, took a backup, and installed Symbian Anna. Previous to this I had set up MfE in a (futile) attempt to sync two-way with Google's services (downlink worked, but towards Google it didn't).
Okay, at the Anna update, the phone was cleared of my contacts (and maps etc), so I thought I'd sync again. Well, that didn't help one bit (perhaps now contacts were removed from the OVI Suite because I don't see them there anymore). So I restore a backup - and now I have no contacts at all on the phone. What the hell is happening? I seem to have three backup files on the pc, I've tried two of them and the third is so small that I doubt my contacts are there.
Nokia, how hard it is to guess if a user wants to have his contacts cleared or not? Seriously guys?If you had the contacts as Google contacts, you wouldn't have needed to install a third party app to restore the contacts.

I put tom tom on my brothers phone the other night, but first I updated the firmware to the latest version, but before all of this I made a full backup of the phone, I selected to backup the whole phone and memoery card. It backed it up and got to 100% and then finished so I hit close and then opened the nokia update to flash it.
After flashing it I did a restore, but for some reason it didnt restore the contects, it restores everything else, photos, videos, the memory card, messages etc etc, but NO CONTACTS .
As you can imagine my bro is now pretty p155ed off. I have tried about 3 times now wiping the phone and restoring from backup, it does it fine each time and completes but no contacts seem to want to appear with everything. Does anyone know why this is, or if no if there is a way to extract the contacts from the backup file on the pc ?.I used the latest version of pcsuite to my pc using content copier, I have tried resetting and doing it again with no joy . It is restoring onto the same phone, im not restoring it to another one, its the same phone that has just had the firmware upgraded. The contacts must be in the backup file somewhere, its just trying to retrive them .

Nokia 9300 and Isync of notes field
I just purchsed this phone, hasn't arrived yet, but would like to know if when syncing with a mac, the notes field is also synced. I have a lot of info in my notes field on my mac and it's important that this be transferred to my 9300 when it arrives. After a year and a half with a T-mobile wing windows mobile pro phone that deleted all my contacts whenever I tried to do a sync I am really looking forward to a new operating system and this phone which seems to have a beautiful form factor. So if the notes field from mac contacs I will be really pleased.

I got my 9300 to work with iSync on 10.4.7

You can buy the plugins to make iSync work with your 9300. Yes I know, I wish it was also free, but 9 euro isn't that much. So I bought the plugins and gave it a try. And it worked, I can now sync my 9300 with my mac using iSync. It uses the syncML protocol and therefore does not need to install any applications on your 9300 as it uses the build in syncing tool on the phone.
There is a small bug though that when you sync all day events to your phone or your mac they appear as an event that starts at 00:00 and continues to 23:59 on the same day. In iCal you can then just drag this to the top section of iCal so it looks like an all day event is supposed to (not much effort), on your 9300 it just appears as another appointment so it isn't that bad. (I suppose)
When I spoke to the developers at Nova Media about this, to see if they could perhaps fix it, this is the response I got:
"SyncML is a standard. As long as this standard is not extended and then implemented by Apple, Nokia etc. it can't be changed. Choose now, what you want to live with for the next 1-2 years."
