Nokia 6300 connection to MB bluetooth SAP unit; mi...

Just brought a Bluetooth SAP unit for my MB - and a NOkia 6300 to enable connection; but I cannot make them connect...There is really no information to get out of the Nokia Manual (thanks for nothing...) but in the MB manual it gives information concerning the setup; however it tells me to go to "connectivity", "Bluetooth", "paired options" and next step should be to select "MB telephone" - but the latter never appears as an option - in fact nothing appears as an option at that point....Can anyone help...??
Thanks in advance,
Best regards
per

This is how I add a BT device to my 6300.
setting -> connectivity -> bluetooth
1) Bluetooth on 6300 and the other device is ON/discover mode.
2) 6300: Select paired devices, go to options, select 'Pair new device'; press 'New' and your 6300 BT will search for BT enabled devices around.
3) It will display the list of Bluetooth devices it found. Highlight your device then click 'Pair'. Note that it may ask for passcode. It just means 6300 will have to send a number key and the other BT device must confirm the same number key.

    i have a mercedes sap v2 bluetooth device and when i try to connect it, it ask me for a connect code do you anyone know what code.i also can't find How do i activate remote sim active setting on at my n70 where is that am i blinde;

    Hi daon7800
You have the HFP module which would be fine if you had a N70, but you need the MB Bluetooth SAP V2 A 04 8 0 05 35 module for your UHI and ironically the N95 is one of the few Nokia phones that Mercedes Benz recommend for use with this particular module.
I presume that your wife has updated her phone and the HFP was recommended for a previous one?

  • Connecting c5 to sony car unit!

    Hi all,
when I used to connect my old nokia 6300 to my car radio/cd unit (sony 6000 cd) via bluetooth I used to have the call list (as stored in the phone by name displayed in, out, missed etc on the car head unit screen when the phone button was pressed.
I was able to scroll through these up/down and select dial to make a call.
I have now upgraded to C5 and although connects and makes and recives calls fine all that is displayed in the Sony car unit screen is the numbers not the 'names' as stored on the phone making it tricky to know who I'm calling.
Am I doing something wrong do I need to change a setting on the phone? I have 'remote sim' on in the bluetooth menu in the phone.

    Hi
This issue has come up before on some car manufacturer units and aftermarket ones too...
Problem is that some factory and aftermarket systems  have not implemented all the subset profiles within Bluetooth, as many have been added since their production date. If the unit has the option to have its software updated, then fully recommend this, however not many were this forward thinking!
Therefore, as newer handsets come out (from many manufacturers, not just Nokia) that use these update profiles, the two units cannot "talk" to each other.
    BUT
    There is a possible solution.
Firstly make sure your contacts are stored to the phone, not the SIM.
Secondly, download the contacts application here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/nokia-616-car-kit/car-kit-software
(Choose the one that matches your phone)
Connect your phone to the pc in pcsuite mode and install the application to the phone memory.
Delete the pairing on the phone AND the car kit.
Reboot the phone and then pair & connect to the car kit.
If this doesn't work, delete the contacts application from the phone and try this one:
     http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/nokia-810/software
These apps were designed to convert the contacts sending to an older Bluetooth subset but for Nokia Car Phones so it cannot be guaranteed that they will fix the communications with your unit - but we can hope!
    Finally,
with some units you can actually "send" the contacts to the car by
going into the contacts menu, selecting "mark all" and then "Send via
Bluetooth". In some cases the car kit appears to have only received on
contact but then actually does have all names etc.
    One
final point is that if you have images stored for your contacts, some car units tend to go a bit crazy so you should delete
    these.
    Hope this is of use....

  • Nokia 6300 bluetooth query

Those .inf files you are talking about are modem drivers only.
You install them if you don't have PC Suite or Ovi Suite installed and you still want to use your phone as a modem for your computer.
To me your problem sounds more like a bluetooth stack incompatibility in your PC.
You have an Asus, so I guess you are running on Toshiba bluetooth.
Try the latest bluetooth stack from here:

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth driver for Windows 7

    Hey Guys,
Since installing Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit, on my ASUS laptop, it won't let me connect to my Nokia 6300 via bluetooth anymore. It was fine with Vista. I've installed PC Suite - that still connects fine.
However when I go to connect via bluetooth through windows (so I can transfer songs through windows media player, which I have to do for some of them since which won't transfer through Nokia Music Manager), it says driver cannot be found. It then tries to find it to no avail.
I tried going here http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-6300/software but I don't know how to install the drivers. Where do I save them to? They're inf files and just open up with notepad.
I tried saving them to C:\Windows\inf but it didn't work. When I try to connect it just tries to find the driver manually and won't give me an option to point to that file, only the directory. But still doesn't pick it up and will say that there isn't the right driver.
    Any help?

but after that the communication between these two devices via bluetooth has stopped and as soon as i use the nokia pc suite to connect to the nokia6300 via bluetooth a message appears informing that says 'cannot use the connectio n type' etc.
now jerry garcia is dead and nokia, lenovo and microsoft are supposedly world class brands.
so what do i do to make my phone connect to the notebook.

  • Nokia 6300 data cable connect

    Hi
I need the drivers for a PC to allow it to transfer data with a Nokia 6300 via a data cable connection. For preference they need to work with both Windows 98 and Win Xp, or only one of them at a pinch.
Does anyone know where on the web I can download this softwear?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Larry

    Hi thanks for the help.
I didn't know about Nokia Suit which I guess it is a comprehensive PC managing system for the phone.
I'm looking at the information page for Nokia PC suite; this is the basic version of the new Nokia Suite.
It says it requires at least 300MB free space, which is a lot to set aside on an older computer, and it also requires Win Xp Professional or Home Sp 2 or later. It doesn't say what computing power is optimum. My Xp is service pack 1.
I'm thinking it would be better if the basic drivers were available as a stand alone package for basic connectivity through a data cable as I feel introducing all the extras may undermine my own PC.
I've been looking over past discussions on this site about this issue and I've found this:
Problem With Nokia 6300 USB DATA CABLE OPTION Not Functioning
"Hey guys there is a solution with you problem and it works fine for me now. After all the comments & suggestions i read i finally got the best solution for all of you. This can be very simple. Try to install the Nokia PC Suite v7.0.2 in your pc after that try to search & find the Nokia USB connectivity cable driver v6.8.2 in the web if u get it. Then uninstall the usb connectivity cable driver v7.0.2 in the CONTROL PANEL ADD/REMOVE after that install the "usb connectivity cable driver v6.8.2 in ur PC then try to plug in your Nokia 6300 it will install automatically ur phone. PRESTO your unit can be now Recognized of your PC."
Will usb connectivity cable driver v6.8.2 work for the 6300 model and can I achieve a adta exchange through a USB data cable with this programme setup alone?
    I've also found this:-
How do I connect Nokia 6300 to the PC?
"You dont even have to download the suite as your fone once connected will show as another harddrive, thus allowing you to drag and drop appropiate music etc to your fone or use free websites such as www.zedge.com"
Is this true and if so might it work for my computer on Win Xp Sp1, or even Win98 SE?
At the moment I'm unable to try anything out as all I have is the phone.

  • Nokia 6300 error message when trying to connect to...

    Hello
I have owned a Nokia 6300 for several months and have been successfully backing up my phone book data etc via the PC Suite.
However I have attempted to connect recently and the software does not recognise the phone stating:
"There is a problem installing this hardware: Nokia 6300. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The name is already in use either as a service name or a service display name."
I have uninstalled the PC Suite but still get the same error.
I would be very grateful if anyone could assist please. Thanks
    Dave

If you are getting this kind of error:
"An error occurred in the installation of this device. The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name."
Try this (instructions are closely based on Microsoft's similar instructions for some modems):
    1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
    2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
    3. In Device Manager, expand Wireless Communication Devices, uninstall all items related to your phone.
    4. Close Device Manager.
    5. Uninstall PC Suite AND PC Connectivity Solution AND especially Nokia USB drivers
    6. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
    7. On the General tab, click Diagnostic Startup - load basic devices and services only.
    8. Restart your computer.
    9. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    10. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services, and then look for registry
entries specific to your phone. In practise search for "Nokia" and delete all keys
where there are values something like "Nokia USB...".
Under same key there is path to some driver file, typically pointing to (C:\Windows\) system32/Drivers/nmw???.sys
Delete also those files from Drivers folder.
    11. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
    12. Click the Services tab, and then click to select each service check box.
    13. Restart your computer.
    14. Install PC Suite (including Connectivity Solution and USB drivers)
    15. Plug your phone - now Windows should found and install your drivers normally.
Remember: Use these instructions at Your Own Risk!

  • Would't be able to connect nokia mobile with ipad2 via bluetooth

    Dear Freinds,
I just bought an Ipad2 32 GB but unfortunately wouldn't be able to operate it properly.
Problem 1 - Trying to tranfer some data from my Nokia C7 to Ipad2 via bluetooth but every time it shows error "UNABLE TO CONNECT"
Problem 2 - When i tried to download free apps from apple store through my Ipad it always ask me for my credit card detail.
Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

1, bluetooth on the iPad is aimed at devices such as keyboards and headphones and isn't for transferring files. The bluetooth profiles that are supported by the iPad (and iOS devices in general) are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
2, there are instructions on this page for setting up an iTunes account without giving a credit card : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 . If you want to use an iTunes account that you've already created then you won't be charged for free apps even if you enter a credit card - you may get a temporary holding charge (to validate that the card is current and active) but that should be refunded within a few days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702

  • Nokia 6300 & Alpine Bluetooth Module

    Hi all,
I have the Nokia 6300 and just got a new alpine headunit with the bluetooth module for my car.
i've noticed that when the devices pair rather than getting an icon of a car i get a headphone icon on the phone - the music player automatically then starts playing the mp3's on the phone regardless of the source i have chosen on the headunit.
does anyone know how to switch this off as i don't want the phone playing music to itself while sat in my pocket - seems like a waste of battery..
    any help is appreciated.
    thanks
    Craig

I have a 6500 slide and a Motorola Bluetooth in the car. Same problem, when I pair them up, the music player automatically goes on. It's frustrating to turn it off everytime I get in the car.
Is this a software problem or is there a way to make the default "off" rather than "on"?

  • Handsfree Connection on Nokia 6300

I have a Nokia 6300 phone and I am using the Bury Uni Take & Talk car kit but my phone will no longer connect handsfree. It is charging in the car kit but just won't work as handsfree, I have tried someone else's phone and it works okay so it must be my phone. Any suggestios

Ah I thought that might be the case as I've trawled through all the menus searching but wasnt sure if there might be something I'd missed. If I were to ring up my operator would that also block their phonecalls? As I dont really want them to know I'm blocking them. Thanks for your help.

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth Passcode

Hello, I just bought Nokia 6300 & trying to pair my exisint Bluetooth & it's asking passcode, Any idea how to find passcode? My previous phone passcode was 0000. Please let me know if you have any idea how to find passcode. Thanks

...actually the pass code your mobile is asking is for the bluetooth that you are trying to pair with your mobile e.g. bluetooth headset…
...read your bluetooth device manual and I’m very sure that the pass code is written there…Message Edited by joshua_sx1 on 18-Sep-200705:45 AM

  • Will a Nokia 6300 work in the United States

    Hi All
I've travelling from Australia to California in the next few weeks and am wondering if my Nokia 6300 will work over there on the Virgin network?
    Kind regards
    Michelle

Is there a Virgin network in the US? It doesn't seem to be listed here:
    http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_us.shtml
Whatever the case, your phone is a triband phone which will have the 900, 1800 and 1900 GSM frequencies. The US uses 850 and 1900, so your phone will work wherever it can get reception from a network that uses 1900, you'd have to check with your home network what its roaming partners in the US are and what frequencies they use.

  • 6300 connectivity via bluetooth with laptop

I am having problems with connecting my phone to my laptop.
I start the PC Suite and click get connected, then select bluetooth connection and next. This then identifies my phone (it has a blue padlock symbol by the side of it, what does this mean?), I then highlight my phone and click next. Then next with the passcode and click accept on the phone to pair, then type the passcode in to the phone. Then the phone asks to connect with the laptop and I click accept on the phone and they are connected. In the PC Suite is says I have my phone as an available connection, however in the main PC suite menu screen I still have no connection. The PC suite does connect but then immediately disconnects its self. I don't know if it's the phone of laptop disconnecting? Why won't the phone and laptop stay connected?
The phone does however connect when using a USB cable.
Any suggestions or help much appreciated as this is really starting to drive my patience!!!

It would appear that the Laptop recognises the phone as a headset?
