Nokia 6300 Music Player Crash

Hi There,
I have a new 6300. I have a fully formatted 2GB card in it. I have used Nokia Music manager to transfer and convert the file to M4A files. I was filling the card up reather well and still have about 1Gb free.
I when I update the libaray it finds all the 500+ track on the card.
When I try to use the libaray to get an album to play, the phone locks up for a few minutes and then resets itself.
I am finding it nigh on impossible to use the music player.
The biggest selling point was that you could put lots of music on the card.

it went fyrther than that now, the library decided to corrupt itself. I wasn't showing the right artist name against the tracks.
Thanks for the reply.... it does the same even if it mp3 format.
This is the first nokia I have had problems with.. my 6230 and 6230i were both better.

    Hi rich0898,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the Nokia forum.
In order to fix this issue, I advise you to perform a soft reset on your phone: type *#7780#. Default lock code is 12345. If the issue persists, perform a hard reset. First of all, back up your data using Nokia Suite (Tools > Back up). Once your data is fully backed up,  type *#7370# on the keypad. After that, check for update on Nokia suite.

  • My music player crashes every time I touch Genres. 3rd Generation

My music player crashes every time I touch Genres. I can't choose from genres, which means that I cannot play Audiobooks or Podcasts or anything on that page. The "default" page on the player is the Playlist page. Is there a way to reinstall just the music player? I have 3rd generation iPod Touch with current software as of 6/21/12. Thanks for the help.

No, you can't reinstall just the player.
    Try the following:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod

  • 6300 music player stored tracks after deleted

My 6300 music player stores the deleted tracks so that the memory card shows it is almost full when infact i only have 12 songs in total on the card. When I open the music player and view track listing, all the tracks that i deleted from the memory card are still there and still play even though they are not!
Can someone tell me how to clear the 'memory' of the music player if possible
    Thanks

Yeah, i do the update and then i check the library and the old 'deleted' songs are still in the library and can still be played but are not on my memory card. I deleted all the songs and the music folder says 'empty' yet when i check the memory status is says 43mb! I dont get it! Please help

  • Nokia Music Player crash on start-up after upgrade...

I have upgraded Nokia Suite from Ovi Suite and found that the Ovi Player cannot start after the next restart. I have tried to upgrade the player to Nokia Music Player and had error during software download for multimedia common component. There is no problem using Nokia Suite. Can anyone help to troubleshoot what has gone wrong and where should I begin to get Ovi Player work?
I was a Nokia Music Unlimited user and has all my songs on the PC with Ovi Player can't start. The last crash I had has caused me to redownload some of the songs due to drm licensing problem. I hope the recommended suggestions would not cause me to loose the drm licenses again. thanks!

    Hi GoldenChylde,
Nokia Music is not a virus, as other users have found that sometimes their anti-virus software may cause conflicts (not only with Nokia software but other programs), as the AV program brings up the program as a false positive (i.e. incorrectly detects the program as being an invasive process that is seeking to damage the user's computer through installation/operation etc). Is impossible for all AV programs to have a database that knows to exclude Nokia programs, and the same goes for any other computer program out there.

  • Music player crashing

Since downloading ios7 my music player keeps crashing, sometimes it will play fine and other times it crashes after a couple of seconds.
I bought the ipad just for music so this is very annoying.

  • 6300 Music player poblem

I updated the Firmware a few days back (from v5.0 to v5.50)
Now, since yesterday whenever I try to open my music player, it updates the library every time & after that it says no music files found, whn there are music files stored on my microSD card in the m4a format(which were previously being played by the player), is any Nokia 6300 user having the same problem?? Basically the playr library takes a lot of time to update...& then it says there are no music files is it the firmware problm? I took it to th Nokia Care Center they say that they need to format the phone & reinstall phone firmware...? If anybody is having th same problem..pls contact me as soon as you read it...
If anyone knows how to format(Hard Format) the Symbian s40 phone i.e the Nokia 6300 please inform me as early as possible..?
    Thank you all in advance

i had similar problems following the online firmware update (5.5).
it may be inconvenient, but if you can get a nokia pro to do a proper reinstall.
personally, i wont be using the online firmware update ever again unless as a last resort.

  • Nokia 101 music player play only first 20 songs

hi friends ... i have a problem...whenever i download songs in my memory card,my music player play only first 20 songs, and other songs show me format error.... please help me what can i do with this ????
Moderator's notes: Moved into it's own thread

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. I recently purchased Nokia 3555 and HS-49 headset to listen to music in stereo. However, I only get mono sound from the right. I called customer care services before I purchased HS-49 and they said it's compatible with Nokia 3555. Yes, I can listen to music, but it's not in stereo. I turned on "stereo widening effect," but it doesn't change anything.
Accoring to the catalog on the web, the phone has stereo bluetooth capability...So, I think it should also produce stereo sound through a wired stereo headset especially with HS-49 which is listed as a compatible headset.
I really appreciate if anybody can teach me how to listen to music in stereo on my Nokia 3555.
    Thanks

    Hi Mushroomlolz,
Sounds like a problem with metadata in the music files. I recall this happening to me also when upgrading from Symbian Anna to Nokia Belle. The way the metadata of music files is handled differently in Nokia Belle and Nokia Belle Refresh, therefore you will need to locate the offending files and use an advanced ID3 / metadata tag editor on your PC to edit the metadata tag information so it will display correctly on your device.

  • Music player crash

I am using Nokia 5800 XM firmware 50
When I am listening music and opening in browser page http://habrahabr.ru/blogs/apple/95711/ (or any other big page) - browser showing alert "Not enough memory" and closing music player
if in browser there is not only one tab - all other tabs also will be closed

"Why it is closing Music Player but not Browser? Anyway it shouldn't be like this. Browser should stop loading such big page and free memory"
Some Apps are Marked "System" means some critical apps inside OS are marked "system" (We can't change that) Whenever phone runs out of memory it closes the applications which are not "System" But i m not sure if this is the case with "Music Player"
"I don't like Opera - I've tried several monthes ago
great that it is possible to select how to open link - in the same window or in new tab, but nothing else"
You can try Skyfire and see if that meets your taste.
    Good Luck.

  • Nokia N8, Music Player - FM transmitting.

Hi hi, I´m using the FM transmitting option from the music player a lot.
But to turn this option on I have to:
    1. Open the music player
    2. Choose play via Radio
    3.  Than the phone opens the FM transmit window
    4.  Than you have to put FM transmit to: ON
Wy isn't it enough to open music player, choose play via Radio, and the FM transmitter turns automatically on ( on the frequency that you have already chosen anyway).
I think this is rather simple, but this extra step to turn on the FM transmitter is  unnecessary !
What does mr Nokia say about this ?
    Regards.

    Hi kingblue,
The complaint is about the extra step needed to activate the radio. The requested behavior for the radio is like for the bluetooth hotkey: If it is off, then you want to turn it on. If it is on, then you want to turn it off.
    Keep It Simple
    Best regards,
    Hans

  • General: System Error on Nokia N80 music player

    Hi all
I've just copied a bunch of WMA files from my PC to the memory card of my Nokia N80 and I know see "General: System Error" whenever I start the music player - and no tracks appear either. The only other details I can think of are that all files are in Artist then Album folders (i.e. in the Sounds->Digital folder, I have folder "Beatles", then under this folder "The White Album"). Would this matter? I've removed any .ini, .jpg or other files that may have been copied across and I'm sure none of the files are particularly big.. Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Ben

Cheers for the reply but I have managed to get it to play a WMA file - if I load this in to the phone memory.
From further investigation, I've found that if I remove a hidden file from the memory card under found in the system directory of the card, then this allows the phone to re-scan the card for files. It seems that once the Music Player has done a search of the card it stops searching ever again (i.e. it believes it has scanned the card, therefore no point doing again). But what if you add new MP3s or WMAs for that matter? I don't want to carry out this hack each time.
Any ideas how to make the Music Player re-scan the memory card each time?
    Thanks again.
    Ben

  • Iphone music player crash

    Hi!
After upgrading to iOS7 I have to say that the UI for the music player is much improved, however the I notice two things.
    1. The Hi-Speed Scubbing is slower at respoding, especially near the end of a track it will stutter.
    2. The music player will crash near the end of the track its playing or when switching to a new track.
The music player is the MOST USED feature on my iphone.
Hope this info helps you guys towards a patch.
    All the best
