Nokia 6300 PC Suite problem

Hi,
A problem. I installed PC Suite on my PC and worked fine. Then I tried uninstalling it but it seems only part of the program got uninstalled. So now whenever I right-click on ANY file on my PC, I get the message "NOKIA PHONE Browser - The Operation Could not be completed".
I cannot uninstall the PC Suite nor can I reinstall it again (it says you have a later version, so you cannot install it again).
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using the latest version of PC Suite that you can download from http://europe.nokia.com/pcsuite ?

Same problem here with a 3500 on both Vista & XP computers. USB cables (yes I tried two different ones) & computers work fine - can transfer data no problem in data transfer mode. But in Nokia mode? Well PC suite knows the phone is there but you can't do anything with it.
I've disabled the firewalls & there's no AV software present on either PC.
The silence on this issue is deafening.
Nokia 6300 here and Nokia PC Suite is on and running in tray, but can't do anything with it. When shutting down the computer it says "Nokia PC Suite Responding... " and so on.
This is no solution but here's a way to make backups (OS: Win):
Navigate to PC Suite's install folder (default C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia PC Suite 7) and find ContentCopier.exe and run it. Now just do the backups like you'd normally do.
My version of PC Suite is Nokia_PC_Suite_7_1_26_0_fin.exe and I haven't tested any other versions. I tried to re-install, uninstall & install and repair install multiple times but still no good. I even deleted all Nokia related files from my C:/ drive and checked Nokia start-up services via msconfig.
This has to be fixed quickly

  • Nokia 6300 Very Big Probleme !!!

    Hello !
    I have Nokia 6300 V 04.70 - 24-01-07 - RM-217
    I Have 2 Big problems :
    The first :
When i go To : Menu - Settings - Configuration - Preferred access pt. : it show a screen with random text about vodafone and it reset automaticaly !!!!
    The second is :
When i go to Menu - Settings - Configuration - Personal config. sett. - My presence : To activate the Chat Messenger i make all the good configuration, but when i return to Menu i dont find Chat application, it appair for 2 seconds and its removed !!!
Plz help me and give me the code to cleat the wap/gprs seetings to remove the first problem
    Thank you

According to my knowledge, Chat option isn't available on newer phones. Not even on my 6233, though it was available on my old 1100. If 6300s of your friends have it, it must be something firmware related. As you have the Live Postcard option, it must be a Vodafone phone. So may be in newer or older firmware versions, the chat option might be available. So check it with your operator. It never is anything Personal Configuration related unless this MESSENGER is a Java app. I think you mean that Chat is a main feature available in your messaging menu, not in a sub menu like Instant Messaging. Hope this helps.

    Hi denymambo,
Do backup of all your phone data as well as your pc's registry data and then Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia Connectivity Cable driver, Nokia Flashing cable driver, run PC Suite cleaner, Install Latest pc suite from nokia.com/pcsuite. Reboot your pc and then try to connect your phone.

  • Nokia 6300 pc suite isnt setting up on my pc help ...

ive just brought a 6300, and im trying to get the pc suite set up on my pc and it just wont load it on to my pc, it comes up with a critical error and something a bout a HKEY ??? help me please !!

Two quick points: are you installing from CD or did you get the latest version from www.nokia.com/pcsuite? If you aren't using the latest, give it a try.
Otherwise, what version of Windows do you have? 2000 must have SP4 installed, and XP at least SP2. Vista *should* be OK. Could you also tell us at what stage this error appears, and note the full error message?

  • Help! nokia 6300 memory card problem

i bought sd 2gb memory card and it won't let me download more than 500 mb onto it! the memory status shows that there is plenty left but if i try to download any more - or even move an image from phone to memory card - it tells me that operation failed! i did format the card and it didn't help
    help!

try to reinstall your current firmware (after backing up all your important data first) or see if there is an update for your 6300 via nokia software updater. but i think there is a problem with your memory card rather than your phone, as can happen with normal USB flash drives when copying files to them, they suddenly give up and start giving strange errors. so maybe try replacing your card with a better quality new one.
    hope this helps

  • Nokia 6170 pc suite problem

hello good people. i am tearing my hair out.
    i have a nokia 6170
    XP Pro SP2
    DKU-2 cable
pc suite 6.4 and 6.6 tried
i have previously had my pc suite and 6170 working perfectly on a non SP2 XP system, and have all my numbers backed up. my phone recently broke, and i have a brand new one which i need to transfer my data to.
i can't get it to work! i have tried both pc suites listed above and have the same problem~: after installation, pc suite will not recognise the connection. when i look in device manager, it shows the nokia 6170 connected, but with no drivers and i cannot find the drivers anywhere on my system or on the web - i thought that pc suite 6.6 had these drivers included.
when i try to the connection manager, it does not find the phone, and when i "add new hardware" the system hangs and i have to restart. i really need to get the numbers back onto my phone, so any help will be gratefully received!
    thanks,

  • Nokia 6080 & PC suite problem - access to sms's

    Hi,
First of all, i must apologize cause my english is not so good :-)
I have Nokia 6080 and i connect it via Cable CA-42 with my PC.
Everything seems to work fine, with PC Suite, except having access to sms's.
In Files Manager f.i. when i try to see sms's, explorer freezes and doesn't responding...
If trying to make a backup of sms... the program freezes too...
The access to other mobile files, like Images, Sounds etc... is working fine.
It seems like beeing a problem of Nokia 6080 firmware...
    Is there any possible solution?
    Thanks
    Dimi
    Tech.information:
    Nokia 6080
    Cable CA-42
PC Suite: v.6.84.10.4 [tried english and greek version, too]
PC: MS Windows XP Pro (Service Pack 2)
Note: Reading sms's in my mobile works fine... i have only 2-3 sms's, i mean i have not a huge number of sms's (if it could be a prob too)

    Uh... no answer :-(
At least, is there a way to find if Nokia is *planning* to release new version for 6080 firmware?
    Nokia 6080 isn't listed in http://europe.nokia.com/A4579163
But, how could i try to re-install it's firmware
    - coz... a user here wrote:
I have a 6080 which had exactly the same problems with PC suite not recognising the message folder. I use a generic cable and it worked fine with all other models.
After many weeks of denial and three new phones, Nokia finally found a fault with the software on the phone. They flashed the software and now it's working fine. I'd suggest take it back to nokia for the software fix.
    Thanks.

  • Connection failure by cable Nokia 6300 - pc suite

I have just upgraded to a 6300. When i connect it by cable to my PC the computer recognises it as a 6300 and tries to install the new hardware instalation process but fails everytime as it cannot find the necessary software. The pc allows me to access and modify the contents of the phone via 'my computer' when used as a hard drive but PC Suite fails to even recognise that it is attached. The PC Suite website does even list the 6300! The 'get connected' utility of pc suite does not recognise the phone is connected.
I have previously backed my old phone up using pc suite and I now want to download all my old data to the new phone.
    Please help.
Windows xp, service pack 2, fully up to date.
PC Suite 6.82.22.0 also fully up to date.

Thank you so much - you are a star! It now works.
One interesting thing I have noticed, just out of interest, is that when saving contact details to the phone it allows for longer names than the sim, but when you backup and restore via PC Suite it truncates all the long names! I now have to go through them all and correct them - really quite annoying.
    Thank you once again :-)

  • Nokia 5800 - PC Suite Problem

My 5800 is experiencing sync problems with the PC suite.
I set the suite to overwrite all data on my phone it cleared all the existing data off but will not write any to the phone now
This is the error messageI am getting.
Anyone else had this problem? and how do I solve this?
     PC Sync information.
PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation.
    Possible Solution
Please check your Synchronisation settings and ensure your phone is in the Idle state, then restart the Synchronisation.

    Hi nitrofan,
If your phone supports create new sync settings in sync settings, create new sync settings for sync, and make sure that while synching your device with PC Suite, no other application is running on the phone, restart your phone and pc and then check if still this issue is happening, if so, do backup of all your data(phone) and make sure that you have the backup, then try to do restore factory settings on your phone.  This restore factory settings can be done as a last step if you dont have any other option to do so, because, restoring your factory settings on your phone will erase all the data on your phone so beware before doing this

  • Contacts Back Up Nokia 6300 on PC Suite

I am having problems with PC Suite, I don't seem to be alone! I have had a look through some of the previous posts but can't get the following sorted.
I have made a back up of my contacts etc via PC Suite from my Nokia 6300. The problem is viewing the contacts via the file manager. It only shows 3 of the contacts out of over 100. All are saved to the phone not the SIM. I am therefore not able to confirm the back up is accurate, or edit any of the contacts on my PC. The three that are showing I added to this new phone the others are copied to the phone from SIM when I put it in the new phone but as far as I can see they are all stored on the phone in exactly the same way!
It seems to be a bit of a tempramental programme, I didn't have this problem with my Motorola using a different programme.
I am using Window XP SP2, version 6.83.14.1 of PC Suite and have tried conecting via a cable and bluetooth.

No you are not alone... In order to update the firmware to 7.118, I backed up my 6300 using PC Suite and now I cannot anymore restore all of its contents.
The restoration sequencially restores SMS, contacts, and phone settings. In my case the process stops with an error in the middle of my contacts, without resuming execution for the next contact or the phone settings. The failing contact is always the same. This contact has the particularity to have 2 address lines, so it might be that this special case is not supported by the restoration program... this is just speculation from my side, it can be anything else of course.
Anyway the consequence is that I have now half of my contacts and all of the phone settings left behind in the nbu file.
Appreciated the solution mentioned to use Outlook, but this won't save my settings, nor will save specificities of my contacts that are not compatible with Outlook.
Personally I am not sure this is related to this particular phone model (6300), but must be an issue of PC Suite itself (either the backup or the restore program).
Generally speaking backup and restoration should be the most robust (same level of reliability as the OS itself), otherwise we cannot count on them to execute other programs. Thus they must be simple, like copying files and must mainly rely on the OS. In this funny case, running the phone updater has been safer than the safety measures taken!

  • Lotus Notes 6.5 and Nokia 6300 problem

    Hi All,
    I'm using
    Windows XP with SP2
    Lotus Notes 6.5.4
    Nokia 6300
    PC Suite 6.82.26.0
When I try to synch my calendar I get the error: the system cannot find the file specified: local, mail\nllha.nsf.
A second error in Dutch "het vereiste gegevenstype wordt niet door de opgegeven database ondersteund". In English this would be something like "the file type is not supported by the database that you entered".
Any ideas would be very appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Best regards,
    Lyset

    Hi All,
Problem is solved... I created a new local replica of my calendar. Without Encryption. Now it works.
