Nokia 6300 - play via Bluetooth

Hi,
is there any possibility how to switch off the "play via Bluetooth" function?
Every time I connect my BT handsfree, the music player starts playing all sounds in the phone memory. Annoying :-(

Try disconnecting the BT connection and reconnect it again. Should work fine then. =)

  • PC Suite & Nokia Ovi Suite via Bluetooth on Nokia ...

I had a tough time in getting the Nokia N8 in sync with the latest Nokia PC Suite which will recognise the N8 (version 7.1.40.9) together with the Nokia Ovi Suite through bluetooth. It was a nightmare! I don't use to have any troubles in connecting any Nokia phones via bluetooth but I do have a problem with the N8.
After searching through various forums and blogs, I have come to a conclusion. There is a workaround the problem when it pertains to the Nokia PC Suite. I rarely use the Nokia Ovi Suite because the Ovi Suite would not allow me to sync calender items for more than 6 weeks. With the Nokia PC Suite, it will allow a user to sync any items for 99 years! Can you believe it? However, not all are lost. The Ovi Suite is better in terms of installing updated maps on the N8 though. You would not be able to do so on the Nokia PC Suite.
When it comes to synchronising your N8 with your PC Suite/ Ovi Suite via bluetooth, you need to take care. The steps will be as follows:
    (1) Install the latest Nokia Ovi Suite and or PC Suite Suite version 7.1.40.9.
    (2) Don't run Ovi/Nokia PC Suite. If they are running on the taskbar, right click to exit all of them.
    (3) Enable bluetooth on your N8 and then right click on the bluetooth devices icon at the bottom right of your laptop.
    (4) Once you have right clicked on the bluetooth devices icon, select 'add devices'.
    (5) Follow the prompts on your N8 and also on your laptop/pc.
    (6) Please make sure that your N8's bluetooth is on 'discoverable'. Otherwise your laptop/pc will not be able to pick up the signal.
    (7) Follow the instructions given and then reboot your laptop/pc.
After that, you would need to fire up your PC Suite or Ovi Suite but not both at the same time. Use PC Suite to sync your contacts/messages/calenders while use the Ovi Suite to install and update your map on your Nokia devices.
    Good luck!

Pls help. I'm able to connect my N8 to my laptop's win7 home premium but not to OVI suite or PC Suite.
They get connected with N8 over cable but not over bluetooth. PC Suite says "Can not authenticate the phone" and ovi suite keeps checking the "Phone's bluetooth capabilities".
    Kindly help.

  • Nokia 6300 & Ford Audio Bluetooth

Anyone know why my 6300 won't pair with the factory fit Ford Audio bluetooth in a Ford Focus with a 6000 CD head unit?
My 6230i pairs ok whether in the cradle or or in my pocket. I've tried all the usual default passcodes (0000 etc) with the 6300 but it just won't pair.
    Is there known compatablity issue?

  • 6300 connectivity via bluetooth with laptop

I am having problems with connecting my phone to my laptop.
I start the PC Suite and click get connected, then select bluetooth connection and next. This then identifies my phone (it has a blue padlock symbol by the side of it, what does this mean?), I then highlight my phone and click next. Then next with the passcode and click accept on the phone to pair, then type the passcode in to the phone. Then the phone asks to connect with the laptop and I click accept on the phone and they are connected. In the PC Suite is says I have my phone as an available connection, however in the main PC suite menu screen I still have no connection. The PC suite does connect but then immediately disconnects its self. I don't know if it's the phone of laptop disconnecting? Why won't the phone and laptop stay connected?
The phone does however connect when using a USB cable.
Any suggestions or help much appreciated as this is really starting to drive my patience!!!

It would appear that the Laptop recognises the phone as a headset?

  • Nokia 9500 connect without Bluetooth

    Hi all!
I have searched the forums and on google, but didn't find any answers.
Everybody (who has one) seems to connect their Nokia 9500 Communicator via Bluetooth to a Powerbook.
Is there a possibility to connect via the provided USB-cable? When I plug in the cable, it seems that the phone is not even recognized. It should show up in Network preferences --> Network Port Configurations, shouldn't it? So that I can set it up as a wireless modem.
Is there anything that I am missing?
I hope you can give me some pointers.
    thanks and kind regards, Herlind

Unfortunately, iSync does not support the synchronization of Nokia mobile handsets via USB: you must use a Bluetooth link.
If your computer is not equipped with built-in Bluetooth, you can purchase a D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth USB adapter—which is explicitly supported by Apple, and to which you can apply Apple Bluetooth firmware updates—or, you can take your chances [with varying degrees of success] with other Bluetooth adapters.

  • Can't "Browse Device" or "Send File" via Bluetooth

    Hi,
I can't activate the "Send File" or "Browse Device" windows with any of my Bluetooth phones (N70 and T650i). I can do iSync using Bluetooth with them. I can send files from these phones to my iBook via Bluetooth. Nokia Media Transfer via Bluetooth works also. I've enabled Bluetooth Sharing (and File Sharing) in Sharing preferences.
The Bluetooth setting in the phones is such that all connections are always allowed
What's weird is when I installed Salling Clicker and when it needed to send the client program to the phone the "Send File" window appeared. This means that "Send File" is "working" (at least during Salling Clicker installation).
    Any tips?
    Thanks

It seems the Bluetooth File Exchange app can't launch from my Bluetooth menu icon. Manually launching from the Finder finally worked

  • Connect to Internet via Bluetooth with 6121 Classi...

I have a new Nokia 6121 Classic and a Thinkpad T60 with the latest Bluetooth drivers and Windows XP SP2.
I've installed the Nokia software and it asked to get the updated software from the Internet and installed 6.86.9.0
It connected fine via Bluetooth (WIDCOM) and I'm able to Sync my contacts/transfer files without any problems. I then throught I'd connect it to the Internet. I tried the cable connection and it connected fine via 3G to my carrier Optus.
However, if I don't use the USB cable and try via Bluetooth (what I want) it starts to connect and says 'Looking for bluetooth devices'...which is really strange since it's already connected !! Windows XP beeps quickly as if something has been plugged into a USB port, but nothing has. After about 20-30 secs, Windows XP beeps (as if something has been unplugged, but nothing has. The Nokia Connection Manager then says "No modem found!"
It's so strange...it can see the Nokia phone fine via Bluetooth. I then tried to connect via "My Bluetooth Places" and XP also connected fine to the phone. It then installed another dialup connection via Bluetooth. But if I click on that icon, it connects to the phone but then asks for a userid/password which I have no idea what to enter. So I think I need to use the Nokia PC suite, but it won't connect to the Internet via the phone, unless I use the USB cable.
It's a strange one... I've searched the forums but can't see any clues for my particular case.

For anyone who's interested I solved this by:
    - Edit the Phone number for the bluetooth Modem and entering *99#
    - For the modem, setting it's Maximum speed to the highest. In my case it was 921600.
    - Go into Control Panel - Phone and Modem Options - Modems - Select Bluetooth Modem - Properties - Advanced tab and enter at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,”internet”
Dial the connection by going into My Bluetooth Places and double clicking on the icon. When prompted enter a blank userid and password. It should then connect to the Internet via your mobile !

  • Nokia 6300 In Car Issue

    Hi
First post here so go easy on me!
I've juts fitted a THB car kit for my new 6300. All wiring is chekced and double checked but whilst phone charges when in the cradle, it won't work through the kit itself.
Are there some settings that need to be altered on the phone itself that need to be altered to enable it to work through the kit.
    Thanks in advance
    Jon

The Bury cradle for Nokia 6300 is a bluetooth connection, make sure the blue wire is connected to ignition switch and you have paired the device, try reading the manual.

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth driver for Windows 7

    Hey Guys,
Since installing Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit, on my ASUS laptop, it won't let me connect to my Nokia 6300 via bluetooth anymore. It was fine with Vista. I've installed PC Suite - that still connects fine.
However when I go to connect via bluetooth through windows (so I can transfer songs through windows media player, which I have to do for some of them since which won't transfer through Nokia Music Manager), it says driver cannot be found. It then tries to find it to no avail.
I tried going here http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-6300/software but I don't know how to install the drivers. Where do I save them to? They're inf files and just open up with notepad.
I tried saving them to C:\Windows\inf but it didn't work. When I try to connect it just tries to find the driver manually and won't give me an option to point to that file, only the directory. But still doesn't pick it up and will say that there isn't the right driver.
    Any help?

Those .inf files you are talking about are modem drivers only.
You install them if you don't have PC Suite or Ovi Suite installed and you still want to use your phone as a modem for your computer.
To me your problem sounds more like a bluetooth stack incompatibility in your PC.
You have an Asus, so I guess you are running on Toshiba bluetooth.
Try the latest bluetooth stack from here:

when i first connected my nokia 6300 to my lenovo3000N100 running windows vista basic bundled by the vendor, via bluetooth, it worked, and i managed to download a few grateful dead songs to my phone.
but after that the communication between these two devices via bluetooth has stopped and as soon as i use the nokia pc suite to connect to the nokia6300 via bluetooth a message appears informing that says 'cannot use the connectio n type' etc.
now jerry garcia is dead and nokia, lenovo and microsoft are supposedly world class brands.
so what do i do to make my phone connect to the notebook.

  • Nokia 6300 & Alpine Bluetooth Module

    Hi all,
I have the Nokia 6300 and just got a new alpine headunit with the bluetooth module for my car.
i've noticed that when the devices pair rather than getting an icon of a car i get a headphone icon on the phone - the music player automatically then starts playing the mp3's on the phone regardless of the source i have chosen on the headunit.
does anyone know how to switch this off as i don't want the phone playing music to itself while sat in my pocket - seems like a waste of battery..
    any help is appreciated.
    thanks
    Craig

I have a 6500 slide and a Motorola Bluetooth in the car. Same problem, when I pair them up, the music player automatically goes on. It's frustrating to turn it off everytime I get in the car.
Is this a software problem or is there a way to make the default "off" rather than "on"?
