Nokia 6300,problem in SW update.

Hii earthy"z..!!!
I've got a nokia 6300,though it's a gud cell but now a days em facin sum problems like...it takes too much time to update music library and in startin music player..!
So i just want to update it,but the problem is when i try to update,it says "please select a service provider"...nd shows an empty screen page.....
So please guys temme how can i update it,nd why the service provider is missin in ma mobile...
And please if u know den,dun hesitate to mention...which version of SW update is available in india for 6300..???

Em an indian nd ryt now em usin Airtel as operator sud i change dat? As uh said dat service provider stands for network operator.
Well,i'd like to tell dat ma 6300's current version is 06.60,wen i googled regardin it i find d info bout version 7.30...is it available in india?
It's really a nuisence as it dzn't have option to check automaticaly for new update..!

Nokia 6300 problem list

Hi, just got the 6300, updated the firmware to V05.00.
I found three problems with the new firmware, (some were on the old firmware to):
1)The # button does not put the phone on "silent" mode.
2)I can not change the standby font color.
3)The incoming call alert is always ascending even though it is on "ringing".
If any body found more problems write them down here and hopefully Nokia will fix the problems in the next firmware update.

Day before yesterday I bought a Nokia 6300 set. But, yesterday I found that the screen saver is not working on this set.I mean if I have kept the time out of screen saver as 10 sec and if no action is taking place in the phone for 10 sec then screen saver should start automatically, but this is not happening.
If anyone else out there is facing the same problem, then let me know. Otherwise someone please tell me the solution for this as this problem eats up lot of my battery backup.

Lotus Notes 6.5 and Nokia 6300 problem

Lotus Notes 6.5.4
Nokia 6300
PC Suite 6.82.26.0
When I try to synch my calendar I get the error: the system cannot find the file specified: local, mail\nllha.nsf.
A second error in Dutch "het vereiste gegevenstype wordt niet door de opgegeven database ondersteund". In English this would be something like "the file type is not supported by the database that you entered".
Any ideas would be very appreciated.

ISync + Nokia 6300 problem

This problem appeared literally overnight and has me completely stumped.
iSync has stopped syncing (or my Nokia 6300 has stopped sending) current- and future-month events to iCal. I have synced a number of times, tried removing the phone from the iSync list and re-adding it, and all that happens is all events for all months prior to the current month get synced. New events are not being added.
Any ideas??

OK, I've found the answer. I've used the plugin found here (in my case the one for iSync 2.4) instead of the one mention in the post above:

Nokia 6280 - problem with software update

Hi,
I have a problem updating thge software on my 6280. I've checked for newer soft version, and it turned out that is is availible. Therefore i've installed latest Nokia PC Suite and Software Updater.
After connecting the phone i got "Connectd phone was not recognized"
Very well... but what am i supposed to do to make updater recognize my phone??

sorry to tell you but the 6280 is not listed as compatible with NSU at

There was a lot of commotion around the 6280 last year, apparently there were some product codes that were shared with the 6288 (which is listed as compatible), I'm not quite sure what it was all about. Anyway it looks like you need to visit a Nokia service center to get the sw updated for a 6280:

Nokia Suit problem when I update to nokia belle

Now iam updating my e6-00 to nokia belle using nokia suit
It take 45 minutes to downloading 305 MB of the update then it takes 1 hour and still till now showing the moving circle which indicates download is still running with two words ::
"creating account..."
I don't know what the proper thing that I must do now
If I press cancel or back does my phone have any prob???

Nokia 6120c problem after FirmWare update

I've found a serious bug in new firmware v4.21 for my phone 6120 classic. Adapter AD-44, which has been working normally before phone update, doesn't respond when I took an incoming call - phone doesn't response for microphone signals and buttons; a caller listen sizzle only.
The Russian T9 has bugs too.

i upgrade the phone software it run and install on the cell its shutdown and start again, the first time message on screan is [local mode] and then it shutdown again
when i press the power again, screen become white no logo shows on screen and it turn off again i use the 3 finger button solution Green, * and 3 then press power to reset it but it not work white screen comes up and shutdown again.

Nokia 6300 problem

I connected it up to the Computer, to download some media.
Then all of a sudden it flashed a couple of times and turned off. I tried to turn it back on again, and it just flashes and turns off.
I tried connecting back to the computer and the computer came up "new hardware found". Nokia, USB rom.
Is it completely dead or what??

Sorry, adamf's solution won't work. The hard reset is only available for Symbian S60 models. All you can do is giving it to a Nokia Care Point or an authorized repairer.

Nokia 6300 problem sms

when im writing sms it shows 1000 characters when i get to 890 it shows second messege being writed, shouldnt it be 160 characters per sms, what can i do, help

The phone can cope with a message up to 100 characters, but the SMS system allows for much less so the message is broken down and sent as separate messsages to be reassembled into one complete message by the receiving phone.
The total characters per message sent over the network is typically 160 characters, but may be less if you have the full character support switched on (which you may need depending which language you are writing). I don't have a 6300 to hand, but I thing you go:
Menu>Messaging>Message settings>Text message>Character encoding and select "reduced support".

Nokia 6300 Time N date

Hi,
I own nokia 6300,last month i updated my mobile's firmware to 6.6 from 4.7, 4m then
1 . Whn i SWITCH OFF n ON my mobile(witout removing battery), it is asking me to update time n date everytime, and
2. suddenly time n date resets on its own prompting me update the same

After up grading did u select a time zone and plz that that in ur settings/general/date and time u have
proper time zone like for India its GMT +5:30
ur work days r set in order from Monday to Sunday
and ur network operator timer is off
and lastly put the phone on from manual time update to automatic..........

Please can someone help me,
I have just tried to update my Nokia 6300 to the latest software, everything seemed ok till the screen went black and the software update just 'hung'!
I now cannot turn my phone on or anything! Can someone PLEASE help me out with this one?

If the phone won't start up, all you can do is take it to a service centre for repair. If your phone is under warranty, then damage caused by something going wrong in software updater is covered as a free repair.

Are You sure any update is available for your phone? It is a very old model and I doubt it is supported now!

Nokia 6300 Disapperance of languages after update ...

Yesterday, I updated my nokia 6300 from version 05.00 to 05.50 but all the languages disapeared after except English, Melayu and two far eastern languages. I need to use French and Arabic on my phone. So, please can anyone tell me how to correct this or to revert to the previous version.

The same problem diffrent country.i update from ver5.50 to 6.01 and i lost the greek language but the updater wrote that this update is compatible with my phone.good luck cause nokia is sleeping.no one from nokia giving answers,they let us discussing the problems and giving solutions by our own!!!!GREAT STRATEGY OR TRAGEDY?
