Nokia 6300 won't unlock keyguard

Hello i got a nokia 6300 for christmas and i decided to try out the security keyguard. i used the default code 12345 and locked the keypad. my younger brother tried around 20 times to unlock the keypad and now the keypad won't unlock. how do i unlock my phone? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remove the battery for 30sec & put it back & check. If it fails your younger brother might accidentaly changed the default, then a trip to Nokia Care Center for reflash the only option.

  • Nokia 6300 won't power up after copying data to SD...

I have had this phone for a week and have just inserted a new 2GB microSD card. I connected up using the USB cable left my PC copying a few albums of MP3s to my phone and went to bed last night. When I came back to my phone/PC this morning the phone was off.
I disconnected the USB cable and pressed the power button. The blue lights come on when the power button is pressed but the phone doesn't. I plugged the USB cable back in and pressed the on button - then my PC beeped and detected it on the USB interface but a second later it beeped again and said there was a problem loading drivers and there was a problem with my hardware.
    This is rubbish.
Anyone know how to fix this? I have tried rebooting the PC, different PCs, removing the phone battery, SIM and SD card. What else is there?
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Simon

    hmmm....
i think that this is a software problem .

  • Nokia 6300 unlocking/firmware and other questions

    Hi,
I've bought a phone Nokia 6300 locked in Orange network. I went to a GSM shop and they unlocked my phone.
On the net I read that based on IMEI code they find the unlocking code but instead they have opened my phone and "read" something with a device. What kind of method is that ? Is it better ?
How can I check if it's completly unlocked ?
Also, if the software from the phone will be erased and written a new one, a newer firmware version, there the phone will be still locked ? Where is that locking feature ? Isn't like the motheboard bios when you flash a new one everything is changed ?
I saw on Nokia web site that I can update the firmware. The phone camed with 5.00 firmware customized by Orange, if I'll update to 5.50 which is on Nokia website, the customized Orange software will be erased ? Or should I go again to that GSM shop to erase the phone and write the new software with that devices ?
    That's all for now,
Thanks if anyone can answer my questions.

If you have had the phone unlocked by any other means than obtaining the restriction code from Orange, then this is work carried out by somebody who is not an authorised Nokia technician, so you may have invalidated the warranty.
Irrespective of the removal of the SIM-lock, the firmware version is based on the phone's product code which in your case will be a product code relating to Orange-version firmware, so you will get the latest version available for that phone and it will still be Orange-branded.

  • Unlock keyboard code for Nokia 6300

I think this is a common topis at this section:
I have set an unlock code for keyboard for Nokia 6300 and I do not know it anymore; now I look at my pretty phone and I cannot use it.
Does anybody know how to unlock the keyboard in these conditions, without the code I have set ?
    Solved!

As always visit to Nokia Care facility with proof of purchase required as there is no longer an IMEI related algorithm mastercode. More details can be found here: http://conversations.nokia.com/2013/08/12/mobile-mythbusting-all-you-need-to-know-about-your-nokias-...

  • 'SIM card registration failed' on Nokia 6300 - fin...

I have two Nokia 6300 phones (I know, they are pretty old now, but there's no point me switching them while these still work!). I had one with me when I worked in New York and it worked fine out there with a US pay-as-you-go SIM card. The other one I saved to use in the UK when I was here, and it has a UK pay-as-you-go SIM (Tesco). I have now moved back to the UK and want to use both phones with my UK SIM card, however the one I used in America says 'SIM card registration failed' and won't find any reception when i put my SIM card (or any SIM card) in to it.
I'd be extremely grateful for any help/advice people can offer.
    Thanks!

If you bought it used chances are who ever sold it has reported it lost or stolen or It was stolen before they sold it
I had this on a Brand new N95 which was exchanged by the shop some one had either Palmed it while looking in the shop or just stolen the ID from it

  • Nokia 6300 Text Message Options

I own a Nokia 6300 which was Made in Hungary. It came with firmware revision version 5.00.
I only see 6 options in my Text Message Settings and nothing seems to resolve it. There's supposed to be 10 options. I contacted Nokia care centre and they suggested that I update the software which I did but to no avail.
I purchased my phone SIM free and completely unlocked. No provider touched my phone.
    1. Message Centres
    2. Msg. Centres in use
    3. E-mail Msg. Centres
    4. E-mail Centres in use (this option is
    greyed out)
    5. Use Packet Data
    6. Character support
    What should be there is:
    1 delivery reports
    2 message centres
    3 msg centre in use
    4 e-mail msg. centres
5 e-mail centre in use (greyed)
    6 message validity
    7 messages sent via
    8 use packet data
    9 character support
    10 rep. via same centre
'Delivery reports, Message Validity, Rep. via same centre and messages sent via' are all missing from mine.
I have reseted my phone on several occasions but it makes no difference in that department. I updated it to 5.50 and still no difference. I'm out of ideas. Can anybody out there suggest anything to me that I haven't already tried ?
    Thank you all.

    Hello,
    I've got the solution!!!
Okay - I spoke to Nokia - who advised me to speak to my SIM card provider (Orange). Orange said - 'This functionality is not supported by Orange on the 6300'.
But there is a way around this.
Borrow one of friends SIM cards (preferably a Vodafone) - insert the card, switch on the phone then go to the messaging menu:
Message Settings > Text Messages > Delivery Reports (set this to yes).
Then switch off the phone, stick your own SIM card back in the phone and switch it on.
If you now go back to the same menu - you will see that, there is no option to set Delivery Reports. However, when you now send a message - it will now indicate when a message is delivered.... JOB DONE :-)

    HI....
I had been using the Nokia 6300 for the past 10 months and had encounter no problem at all. But do not know why, suddenly 2 days ago, the phone just suddenly freezed. I tried to turn off and turn on the phone, but I just can't enter into the menu. when the phone is turn on, only see the 'Nokia' wording, then the whole screen is just white and can only see the battery logo. It can't be turn off, need to remove the battery. I haven't back-up my contacts and smses yet, when this happen. Would like to know if anyone can help. I am really desperate now. All the contacts and smses are very important. Is there any way or method, that I can use, so that I can save the datas?
    Thank you.

If the phone won't start up, all you can do is take it to a service centre for repair. If your phone is under warranty, then damage caused by something going wrong in software updater is covered as a free repair.

  • Contacts Back Up Nokia 6300 on PC Suite

I am having problems with PC Suite, I don't seem to be alone! I have had a look through some of the previous posts but can't get the following sorted.
I have made a back up of my contacts etc via PC Suite from my Nokia 6300. The problem is viewing the contacts via the file manager. It only shows 3 of the contacts out of over 100. All are saved to the phone not the SIM. I am therefore not able to confirm the back up is accurate, or edit any of the contacts on my PC. The three that are showing I added to this new phone the others are copied to the phone from SIM when I put it in the new phone but as far as I can see they are all stored on the phone in exactly the same way!
It seems to be a bit of a tempramental programme, I didn't have this problem with my Motorola using a different programme.
I am using Window XP SP2, version 6.83.14.1 of PC Suite and have tried conecting via a cable and bluetooth.

No you are not alone... In order to update the firmware to 7.118, I backed up my 6300 using PC Suite and now I cannot anymore restore all of its contents.
The restoration sequencially restores SMS, contacts, and phone settings. In my case the process stops with an error in the middle of my contacts, without resuming execution for the next contact or the phone settings. The failing contact is always the same. This contact has the particularity to have 2 address lines, so it might be that this special case is not supported by the restoration program... this is just speculation from my side, it can be anything else of course.
Anyway the consequence is that I have now half of my contacts and all of the phone settings left behind in the nbu file.
Appreciated the solution mentioned to use Outlook, but this won't save my settings, nor will save specificities of my contacts that are not compatible with Outlook.
Personally I am not sure this is related to this particular phone model (6300), but must be an issue of PC Suite itself (either the backup or the restore program).
Generally speaking backup and restoration should be the most robust (same level of reliability as the OS itself), otherwise we cannot count on them to execute other programs. Thus they must be simple, like copying files and must mainly rely on the OS. In this funny case, running the phone updater has been safer than the safety measures taken!

  • Nokia 6300 and PC Sutie not restoring Contacts HEL...

Hi all im not sure if anyone else has the same problem but for some reason every time i try to restore a backup from my Nokia 6300 that I have just made it doesn’t seam to full work.. Everything else will restore except my contacts. If I restore my contacts I get a error msg saying Connection to the phone was lost. Reconnect your phone and restart the restoration..
Yet when I restore my contacts from a old 6230i phone I backed up 3months ago it seams fine..
    Using Windows XP SP2
    Nokia 6.83..14.1
Is there any other way I can backup my contacts…
Also I have noticed some of my applications have now been moved into a different folder on my memory card.

Ok, so I reinstalled the software, and so far it seems to be working 90% better. I can add contacts, and they seem to store on the computer AND phone better. One contact would not send, had to delete it and recreate for it to work, but was able to get it to the phone.
So I won't delete the original post, maybe someone else will have similar problems. Hopefully I won't be back to edit this response once I get to 10 or 15 numbers.

  • Nokia 6300 - charger in UK

I have a Nokia 6300 purchased in Toronto, Canada, and will be visiting England next week. My question is: do I need to buy a charger in the UK to charge the phone; or can I just use the North American charger I have and just use a plug adapter?

O2 phones contain very little branding which can be easily removed and are unlocked. The only branding that you cannot remove is an O2 splash screen when you switch the phone on.
Orange phones are heavily branded and usually replace nokia's nice active standby screen with their own awful orange home screen. They also have a splash screen. The are locked.
The # key problem is firmware related. Some sim free nokia's also have the problem. I think the firmware that orange use has the problem and O2's doesn't but this may have changed.

  • Lost original applications for my nokia 6300

    hi all
i lost my original applications for my nokia 6300 can anyone help me please
    thanks in advance
    chelseainblue

    1. This isn't Nokia Care. Its a user to user forum. I'm also a user like you.
    2. Yes. It will be required. I also know that its around 6 years old phone model.
    3. Another way can be done of if the keyguard is not security locked. If its not then you can reinstall the firmware using Nokia Suite. It'll reset the code.
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

  • Nokia 6300 help

Hi was wondering if anyone knows where i can find a graphic representation of the menus in the Nokia 6300. I have broken the screen and it is not worth getting it fixed. I would like to get some important numbers off  the phone but neither blue tooth or data cable links are activated in the settings so my PC wont recognise the  phone.
    Any help would be apreciated
    Thanks Al

By important numbers you mean phone contacts?
Considering the menu can be personalised this could be confusing..
If your short cut keys havent been personalised i'd try this (kinda stupid, but will work)
Copy your Phone contacts yo your sim card...
    (Make sure phone is unlocked)
    Press Down
    Press Left Blue
    Press Centre
    Press Up
    Press Centre
    (wait about 10secs)
    Press Left Blue
    Press Centre
    Press Centre
Wait maybe 60secs or so to be sure
and all your contacts should be copied to your sim card

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth driver for Windows 7

    Hey Guys,
Since installing Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit, on my ASUS laptop, it won't let me connect to my Nokia 6300 via bluetooth anymore. It was fine with Vista. I've installed PC Suite - that still connects fine.
However when I go to connect via bluetooth through windows (so I can transfer songs through windows media player, which I have to do for some of them since which won't transfer through Nokia Music Manager), it says driver cannot be found. It then tries to find it to no avail.
I tried going here http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-6300/software but I don't know how to install the drivers. Where do I save them to? They're inf files and just open up with notepad.
I tried saving them to C:\Windows\inf but it didn't work. When I try to connect it just tries to find the driver manually and won't give me an option to point to that file, only the directory. But still doesn't pick it up and will say that there isn't the right driver.
    Any help?

Those .inf files you are talking about are modem drivers only.
You install them if you don't have PC Suite or Ovi Suite installed and you still want to use your phone as a modem for your computer.
To me your problem sounds more like a bluetooth stack incompatibility in your PC.
You have an Asus, so I guess you are running on Toshiba bluetooth.
Try the latest bluetooth stack from here:

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can create a playlist using Nokia Music Manager (PC Suite application). Then, transfer the playlist to your phone.
Select songs you want and then choose File > Create new playlist.
Should be draggable/copy-able just like music files after it's created.
"Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."
If you found someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to the post!

  • How to organize music on Nokia 6300?

    Hello,
How can I organize the music on my phone - Nokia 6300? I have created a few different folders but the music player will just put all the music files together?
Some of the music is actually audio books so I definitely don't want these mixing with actual music... I tried all kinds of stuff but I just can't seem to separate audio files into different folders or something. The manual doesn't provide any info either so I thought maybe somebody here could help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Go to Music Player on your 6300 phone.dont play yet, click the "option" and then "music library" and then click the "all tracks".after doing that, you should see all the playable song's stored in your memory card.here's the trick. for example, you just want to play all your favorite songs at a time, or maybe your so sentimental that you only want to hear all the love songs, then go find all the love songs you want then click the option again and then click the "add to favorites". after you add all the love songs you want to favorites click the back and then go to "track list" and it will show you all the possible option there like the "favorites", "most played", "recent tracks" etc..click the favorites option since you only want to play all your love songs at a time.after that play any songs that you will see at the favorites option.just one song. while playing, now click the "option" again then click the "show tracks" then "option" and last is "save as track list" then it will ask you for a "file name".named it anything you want, like uhmm "LOVE SONGS" since you add only all the love songs you like just for example.after saving it you have now all the love songs saved as your track list.now go to "music library" then click the "track list" then go to "my track list".there you can find the file name that you save like "LOVE SONGS" then play it.VOILA AT LAST.YOU CAN NOW ONLY LISTEN TO ALL THE LOVE SONGS THAT YOU SAVED.now, if you want to create another playlist, go to the "FAVORITES" again then erase all that's been saved there then add another songs to your favorites like alternative songs or rap or anysongs you only want to hear then just do what i have told you recently.play again form my favorites then save it as track list and this time, saved it on different file name like "ALTENATIVE" so you won't confused what's the songs on it.got it!! WHEW!! HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU!!
