I'm trying to find out if a video i've found has been made by a certain person I know without asking them

I'm not sure, but a work around you can do is to make another video and check what file name it has.
If you don't find it on your phone, just transfer it to your computer.

I used to have the Nokia 6300. When writing an sms it was possible to "insert number" when choosing Options. Where is that option in the Nokia 6303 Classic? It is often one need to insert a number in a text message so it ought to be simple?

How do you know which solution the OP as asking for? Pressing and holding the key is more convenient for inputting short numbers because it takes as long to change the keypad mode from alphabetical to numbers and back again.
The solution you require is even easier, press the * key and select number mode but you have to switch back to alpha mode once you are done.
You could try Adobe Reader LE. V 1.5 is free 2.5 you have to pay for. It thought V1.5 comes with all S60 Nokias. If it does not then try looking for it at the www.adobe.com

Nokia 6303 Classic Displays CALL only instead of c...

I've an orange sim card and this seems to be only happening with this network.
I do not know who is calling me. The display shows "call" even though the number of the person that is calling me is on my contact list. This happens with all numbers.
Strangely, it knows if I am calling out, and if someone texts me.
Does anyone know anyway around it?? I've gone to settings/Display and checked the Notification details, This was already set to "show" which is fine but this still doesn't even work.
I've even updated this to V10.10 of the Nokia 6303 Classic firmware. CALL still is appearing even after the update.

Nonetheless, this is a common problem with Orange. I suggest calling them. They should be able to update your SIM over-the-air and it'll sort the problem out.

I have purchased a Nokia 6303 Classic (RM-443) with Firmware version of 10.12. with Dated 08.04.2010 (is there new firmware available).? My PC is running Windows Vista Ultimate with Nokia PC Suite 7.1.30.9. PC Suite detects the phone OK, but when I open Nokia Communication Centre and clicks the "Contacts" button all my contacts are visible for a second before they disappear. Then the following message displays: "Updating contacts failed. Ensure your phone is in the idle state, then try again........ Again and Again
Please Help me about this troubleshooting ,,,, I believe my phone is in the "idle state". The general profile is selected and PC Suite USB connection is selected. What can be wrong? Is PC suite not compatible with Windows Vista Ultimate,,, yet? I also wonder whether it is possible to synchronize data between the phone and Windows Live Mail with PC Suite.

Nokia 6303 classic Line 2 (ALS) missing

Hi,
I just switched to the new Nokia 6303 classic and cannot find a way to switch to line 2. The feature seems missing. I know that my operator supports two lines (used id for months now on my old phone).
The Nokia 6303 classic should be able to handle two lines. Or am I wrong?
Does anybody know why the feature does not show up? I do not want to switch phones again.

Nokia 6303 classic Radio not working

I bought Nokia 6303 classic phone couple of weeks back, it's radio is not working properly. Radio searches for channels but is unable to find any, tried to feed frequency manually but it doesn't catch anything.

yes it's working...just need to make sure headphone wire is not touching against itself...try to first use in open space, signal will be clearer.

Nokia 6303 Classic - "Error in Connection"

Hi,
I am using Nokia 6303 classic mobile which I brought it in March 2010, Always I am getting the following error "Error in connection", I need to switch off and switch on again to call back or to receive the calls, its totally irretating me sometimes.
When I keep the phone @ my room for some time idle thats it, when i try to call at this time I will be getting "Error in connection". I belived so much in Nokia and now I am feed up with this. Can any one help on this.

Calendar on Home Screen of Nokia 6303 Classic

I've just got one of the 6303 Classics and synced my Outlook calendar with the phone but now on the Home Screen it only displays one appointment rather than all i have that day like my old Nokia.
Is there anyway i can get it to display more appointments on the Home Screen as i can't seem to find an option for this?

The 6303 classic uses an s40 operating system, and due to the limited capacities of this system, the space on the active standby is limited to that kind of display. You could rearrange the active standby and set calendar to be on the second bar from the top. I think that box has enough space for two or three tasks to be shown.
The only Nokias that show the calendar events for the whole day are phones with the s60 operating system, which your old phone seems to belong to.

Next Firmware Update For Nokia 6303 classic Featur...

A. Software features should be Hardware based not to Nokia Legacy as if 3.2 Megapixels Camera works like 6233's 2 Megapixels camera. In Nokia 5800 camera is just 3.2 Megapixels but the capabilities are fine, if Nokia has no logic to upgrade the Software for its legacy then why do Nokia has to upgrade the Hardware in Legacy Nokia Operating System? Like in case of 6303.
B. Video Editor should be there in new update. A nice feature for creativity.
C. .mp4 should be supported by the Recording Video Option and should be 640x480 @30fps. Why not if 6303 can play .mp4 but would not record, is there any logic even the Camera CMOS is 3.2 Megapixels?
D. Lights Effect is a very good feature of 6303 and in my opinion it would be updated as another possibility to select it as Breather Light Effect such as Nokia 5800 XM, due to Silent Profile activated Handset Location assistance facility. User can find the set easily rather making a miss call to find out where the set is?
E. 15 fps is not sufficient to play smoothly in PC or convert the Movie in any Application to play it in SETTOP Box or General DVD Players. it should be @30 fps to play in PC or after convertion in DVD player.
F. Photo Editor should be included in Next Update as its not a justification to the Hardware rendered Engine limited by Firmware to edit the Photo and you get the jeggy .png. is not a joke performed in 6303?
G. SMS writing Window space should be enhanced to accomodate the full Text Window so that a user can review easily in one Window operation not by scrolling again and again as now available in 6303.
H. Display Brightness feature should be added to facilitate the user choice as the Hardware is supported in 6303's 16.7 M color LCD.
I. 3D Ringing tone effects should be added and the Volume of Startup Tone should be increased to its optimal, in recent Firmware it is very low.
J. SMS alert tone selection plays the tone in Level one Sound volume though the selected level is Five bar. it should be corrected in Future update.
K. Smart selection of To (address field) in Messaging by converting the Input as Numeric for Text Message and Alphanumeric for MMS. In recent Firmware it is Alphanumeric by default for SMS as well as MMS, which is annoying for SMS Sending.
L. Messages save in Memory Card or Phone Memory, option should be added.
M. It would be a bonus if .wmv .dvx .mov video formats are supported by next firmware in both situations like Recording option and Playing formats support.
Kindly notice NOKIA:
that by performing all above mentioned enhancements for 6303 classic, The 6303 classic would not become an N series or Touch considered Handset but it would justify its Hardware Capabilities selected by its manufacturer.
Its better to be legacy oriented NOKIA but the NOKIA OS legacy should be parallel with latest trends and Hardware based.
Its a good time to make better decisions towards connecting people with Modern Communications.

Audio: AAC, AAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, eAAC, eAAC+, MIDI Tones (poly 64), Mobile XMF, MP3, MP4, SP-MIDI, True tones, WMA
Video: 3GPP formats (H.263), H.264/AVC, MPEG-4
Image: BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, WBMP
This phone runs on S40 FP1, and supports only Java applications (.jar and .jad format). It does not support .sis applications.

Nokia 6303 Classic Software Update

Hi,
I'm updating my phone software but having a problem with the phone memory i.e.. When I try to update I'm getting the message that the phone's memory is full. There is plenty of memory left on the memory card but the phone's memory is full but there doesn't seem much on the phone that I can delete that isn't Read Only.

Can't Pair Nokia 6303 Classic and Macbook White running Mac OS 10.5.7

I know the 6303 is not yet supported by iSync, so I downloaded and installed the Nokia Plug-Ins from http://shop.mactomster.de. They claim to cover the 6303.
When I try to pair the phone with the Mac, Bluetooth Setup Assistant 'sees' and names it correctly. The same numeric code is then displayed on the phone and the Mac, but pairing then fails every time.
Any suggestions? Mactomster hasn't got an answer, yet.

I'm going to answer my own question. All down to Bluetooth, I believe. I deleted all paired devices from Bluetooth and iSync, restarted and tried again. This time it worked, and I was subsequently able to re-pair the other devices (mouse and PDA) again, and to iSync successfully with the 6303, including To-Dos and Notes.

How to install maps on Nokia 6303 classic

I recently formatted my memory card and now want to re-install the maps application.
I've downloaded and installed Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42 but when I click into maps I get the message...
"Cannot find maps or voice guidance files in your device. This is due to either of the following reasons: - Your device does not support the Nokia Maps application. - The maps and voice guidance files in your device are corrupted."
I've followed the instructions in the help file (below) but still no joy in getting the maps app installed...
"If you see a notification in Nokia Ovi Suite Maps that your device's maps or voice guidance files may have been corrupted, switch the device's USB mode to the mass storage USB mode. Then, from your device's memory card, look for a folder named Cities and a file named qf, and delete them. After that, switch back to the PC Suite USB mode. Refer to the user guide of your device for more detailed information on selecting or changing the USB mode."
Can anyone offer any advice on how to get maps installed?

Good question as early versions of Nokia Maps required you to use "Mass storage" mode to recognise memory card whereas later used "PC Suite " mode. Pretty sure that OVI Suite will throw up connected in incompatible mode if you connect as "Mass storage"
