Nokia 6310i V5.51 08-07-03 MPL-1 (c) NNP.

I have Nokia PC Suite 4.88 installed on my LT (lap-top) but can't get the USB data cable to work with the data suite. It just will not detect the connection/phone no matter what I do. I have done all the usual things and have now given up as it has taken many hours getting nowhere. Anyway - I have bought a referbed nK6310i and need to transfer the info on my old phone (cos its now 10 years old) to the new one, otherwise it will take me an age to do this manually, I started trying to copy from phone to Sim but this is not working cos the info is reduced and its is less in data terms on the sim than phone memory and and there is persistent duplication; which then takes ages to edit! So, can anyone come up woth a solution? Oh when trying to connect via the "Content Copier" I get Error Code 3FO?!

  • Nokia 6310i with the earphone

I have 2 questions for those, who happen to use Nokia 6310i with NOKIA HDC-9 (or other) wired earphone.
    1. When there's an incoming call, can I also hear my phone ringing in the earphone?
    2. How about alarm-clock, can I hear its alarm also in the earphone?
    Thank you.

I am a newby to this board. I have a very narrow question. I have just bought a used car that has installed kit set up for a Nokia 6301i. As this appears to be an old model I want to buy a new one that will function in the car set-up. Will a Nokia 6201 work in the 6301i car set-up? Is there a better alternative to the 6201 without changing thr car kit? I don't need any fancy functions merely the phone.
Thanks for your consideration and help, if possible.

  • Nokia 6310i no longer connects under 10.4.7

After installing 10.4.7, I lost BT connection to my cell phone. The phone still shows up in the BlueTooth Setup Assistant, but the Assistant freezes in the "Gathering additional information.." stage.
The phone is a Nokia 6310i with firmware version 5.52.
Does anyone have a similar experience? Everything worked just fine with 10.4.6.

My Nokia 6310 (not "i") still works with 10.4.7 on my PowerBook Ti without problems.
I didn't launch the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.

  • Nokia 6310i in car kit

Please can someone advise me : is there is any phone other than a nokia 6310i that i can use with my already existing incar system , the phone i have is great but old fashioned and i would love a new one , but i dont want to go to the expence of changing the built in car system ?
    Thankyou

Assuming you have CARK-91 kit installed, you've pretty much reached the end of the line as the 6310i was the last handset compatible with the kit.
It is possible to add a CA-55 converter cable, but this only works properly with the 6230 and 6230i, not very well might I add.
So I would recommend changing your carkit if you plan on changing your phone.

  • Nokia 6310i Bluetooth/Nissan X-Trail

    Can anyone help?.
How can I transfere my Phone Book(Nokia 6310i) via Bluetooth to my car Navigation system in one go.
I have a Nissan X-TRAIL (New model Nov.2007),Iv'e followed all the handbook Instructions but to no avail.

I am having the same issue with my 6110 Navigator except that sometimes it does work but mostly it seems not to. I can't believe that the Nissan made their cars not compatible with the most common make of handset

  • Upgrading a Car Kit from Nokia 6310i to Nokia 6680

I drive a Mercedes E320 which has a fitted car kit which takes a Nokia 6310i in a cradle. This works very well and is integrated to the car radio etc, it is not a Mercedes kit as it does not integrate to the Mercedes Command System (i.e. I can not push the button on the steering wheel to answer calls etc). I think it is Nokia Car Kit but I can not be sure as it is hidden under stacks of plastic and leather and it will be a devil of a job just to find the box.
Last year I upgraded to a Nokia 6680 (my trusty 6310i having decided to retire) and given the law on use of phone in cars I thought it about time I put a new car kit in the Merc, (I cant do with things in my ears, so headsets are out of the question). I have bought a CK-7W and the cradle for the 6680 but as it is going to be a difficult job to locate and replace the whole system (or expensive if I have the dealer do it) the question I want to ask is simple. Is it possible to just CUT the cables between the different cradles and thereby join the new 6680 cradle to the existing 6310i car kit, (I am quite proficient with a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing). OK, I know this is a bit Heath Robinson but if it will work then it will save me a whole load of time and inconvenience, or a whole stash of money as I don’t relish the thought of ripping out a Mercedes dashboard just to find the car kit
If it is possible does anyone know the cable colours (if they are not the same, between 6310i and 6680).
    Thanks
    David

    Hi
The new cradle (CA27) will not work with the old car kit (assuming its the CARK-91).
But If you can locate the CARK-91 control box behind the dash (my guess is that it will be near the radio of behind the glove box), there is no need for cutting/ joining of wires.
Autoleads make an adaptor from the old Nokia 6-pin to the new 4-pin connector.
Its simply then a case of replacing the phone cradle, replacing the control box with CK-7W, swapping the other connectors (mic, speaker), plugging in the converter, and away you go.
Search for "06-208B Autoleads Adaptors" in Google for the converter (be careful - there is another adaptor that is 4-pin to 6-pin

  • Nokia 6310i in car

    Hey there,
I have a Nokia 6310i that works fine. If I use it in my car (with a car connector) I have the following problem:
Phone is switched off and in the connector. I turn on the ignition of my car, then the Nokia switches on as well - so far so good.
Unfortunately it does not switch off again when I kill the car's engine. It just stays on until the accu is empty.
I do not find any settings option that would solve this problem.
I even had the phone in a Nokia service-point, but the only idea they had was a software update, but that did not solve the problem either.
    Does anyone have a clue?
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Motorolla HS850 Handsfree Headset and Nokia 6310i ...

Having researched bluetooth headsets,we bought Motorolla HS850 stated on retailers site to be compatible with our Nokia 6310i also having a boom answering facility activated by lowering the boom. MANY sites echo the compatibility of these two items and if you google them again compatibility will be confirmed.
To our frustration we found although pairing worked fine , ONLY some of the features worked & the boom call answering/disconnecting/ voice dialling feature did NOT work at all.
We went back to the retailer to inform of this and ask for a refund they said "rubbish the phone is compatible we wont refund.. We called Motorolla who say "we don't test our headsets with other companies phones and therefore state they are NOT compatible with anything but Motorolla phones, and promised to put this in writing.
I called Carphonewarehouse for advice, their stance we wont sell HS850s to customers without warning them the boom feature is known to only work on a handful of phones and if this is the real reason for purchasing would recommend something else..
On checking our Nokia sware version (Keying in *#0000# tells you what version of sware you have installed)we found we had v 4.06 several years out of date.. They upgraded our sware and having explained the HS850 would only partially work on our phone they recommended either Motorolla HS500 or Nokia HS56W. They agreed to charge them up and arranged for us to go along and have their technician both upgrade our phone & test headsets with us on our phone.
The latest sware was v 7.2 ( many versions higher than 4.6)and ALL the Motorollas HS500 features worked fine so we retried our HS850 and unbelievably all features worked perfectly INCLUDING the boom features..:-)
Interestingly the Nokia HS56W had lots of problems both pairing and getting the features to consistently work, it was very hit or miss and the technician advised NOT to have that headset..
This was very suprising as we had been told Nokia 6310i phone and this headset were TOTALLY compatible and both us and the salesmen expected it to work perfectly.
So as you can see we found the HS850 to be COMPLETELY COMPATIBLE with our 6310i Nokia handset PROVIDING you have Nokia’s version 7.2 Software.
We hope this helps others out there experiencing the same frustrations..I also should add Carphonewarehouse helped us out even though they had not sold us the original handset nor the HS850 headset the provided a FANTASTIC level of service and we would definitely use them again..Message Edited by tamba1 on 10-Dec-2005

  • Nokia 6310i and Nokia content copier

My phone doesn't get to the welcome message when switched on, only the screen blinks four times.
I obtained a newer 6310i handset and wanted to update the content information from my old phone. Both phones were working beforehand with their respective SIM cards. I loaded the latest versionof the Nokia PC suite from the realted link on the Nokia 6310i support site and successfully copied the data to my PC using the content copier as part of the PC suite. I then started reverse process to load the data from the PC to the new phone. I selected the file from the loaction they were stored and started the process. Towards the end of the process the content copier gave an error on the lines that the connection had been lost. I stopped the process and then looked at the phone which had a blank screen. Thinking that the power may habe been lost or the sim card not seated, I then powered the phone on/off, took the battery out checked the sim card, but still no joy. I then changed the sim card over with the other handset to establish that this was OK;it was and put the old sim in the new phone; that didn't work. I am now stuck with a handset that doesn't power up and go to the welcome screen; it can only be charged. When changing it does beep and show the charging bar.
It looks like the phone software is corrupt, can I power the phone up another way or get the software fixed? Are there codes you can enter to reset the handset?

As the 6310i is a rather old model, early 2000's as I recall from memory, there's not much you can do except to check that you have the most recent firmware available for your phone. But since it is an old phone, support for the model may (and probably has) been taken down by Nokia. The only option you have then really is to ask at your local Nokia Care Centre, otherwise I would recommend buying a new Nokia phone anyway.
If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

  • PC Suite 4.88 for Nokia 6310i

Anybody have any clue or any links to enable the download of PC Suite 4.88 - It seems that none of the Nokia sites work anymore - when selecting to download you are faced with a EULA which only has a Close button and no accept button. The latest PC suite does not work with the 6310i and I need to extract my old phone list as my current piece of rubbish has been stolen

  • Upgrade a Nokia 6310i car kit to a new Nokia?

I bought a car with a car kit installed which fitted a Nolia 6310i. I then bought a CARK 91 kit so I could use my Nokia 3410. I want to upgrade my phone to something like a N96 or even a Samsung or Sony Ericsson, however do I need to have my car kit taken out and a new one installed, or can they just replace the handset holder?

The cark-91 is not upgradeable to work with any of the phones you listed, As Okinawa has mentioned above, click the link to view all the new Nokia car kits, there new kits will work with any of the phones you have listed.

  • Nokia 6310i

I have just got this phone, not new .When I put my sim in from my old phone which is a old nokia 8110,and i try to copy from sim card to phone it says sim card not ready, help

Maybe you have very old SIM card (5V only).
    6310i doesn't support 5V-only SIM cards.
Contact your operator and get your SIM exchanged.
This will allow you to use the 'new' phone
(but not to copy your contacts...).

  • Nokia 6310i carkit

To install the CA-55 adaptor you will have to have 'major surgery' to remove the old cradle and trace the connector back to the main junction box.
There is'nt a cradle for every phone but you can check first on Nokia site to the phone you want and then click enhancements to see whats listed.
Nokia only launched the CA-55 about 12 months ago which is why you got that reply.
If you are changing you car in the near future then O2 sell a clip in adaptor that will sit in your cark-91 cradle and allow you to use a 6230 phone, this would be a good short term solution.
If you buy a CK-7W kit it will be copatible for all nokia phone in the future and you will be able to just exchange the cradle, hopefully.
